FE Heroes not working despite safety net check passing - Magisk

Hey! First off, thank you to the creator of magisk, it's amazing and very useful
However, I can't seem to get Fire Emblem Heroes to work. OP3T on stock rom, TWRP and magisk 11.1, nothing else. Using MagiskSU for greenify and adaway and everything works. Manager says I pass the safety net check (used to give a profile mismatch but that went away after rebooting) and I've enabled magisk hide for the app, to no avail.
For what it's worth PoGo seems to be working fine.
What further info could I give you to help and where do I get it?
Thanks!!!!

I just updated from 1.0.2 to 1.1.0 and keep getting the same error message as before (the good old 803-3001).
This is supposed to be a connection error message, but it doesn't make sense -- if I hotspot off my magisk'd OP3T to a stock OPO or a stock iPad, the game works fine, so it stands to reason the connection is good.
Hence my suspicion that it's probably a SafetyNet issue (FE:H, like PoGo, uses SafetyNet -- might be a Nintendo thing). Any idea how to get around it?
Thanks!

Might be an issue where the app also relies on another app or service to find a rooted device. See this thread, the Hiding root post under "Dependencies": https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/magisk-magisk-hide-troubleshooting-tips-t3561828

Good idea. I didn't think of that, but alas, the game doesn't ask for any permissions (and none listed in settings) -- so if they do use 3rd party software to check, it doesn't show up in the permission list.
Inspired by Pocket Morty's dependency on Google Play Games, I went and installed that too (I'd removed it as a cruft-reduction exercise) to see if that was it, but it's not. Still doesn't work, same error message.

Yeah, I don't think it has to be as a result of permissions (note to self: update the text)... It might also be that the app is looking for certain prop values. Both of these are hard to figure out without decompiling the apk.

Well now, that's substantially more complicated and probably out of my league I'll have to stick to playing it on the iPad. It's not impossible, just annoying.
Thanks!

you could try on nox pc emulator too, it is working on 1.1 (i had to disable root tho)
i will try with magisk on my phone until i install the apps on LineageOS13
EDIT: @pqueiro it works on LineageOS 13 and using Magisk 11.1, without problems, so i guess can be something of the rom (i can pass the net check too, and PoGo without problems)

The plot thickens. Let me check on my "playground" phone if I can replicate that.

@pqueiro
did you install the game when the Phone was already rooted?
I can replicate this issue when installing the game on already rooted devices - but if I install the game on a non-rooted device and apply magisk afterwards the game launches proper.
Create a nandroid backup, flash the rom and try to launch the game while non-rooted and see if it makes a difference for you.

FYI, tried this (took the opportunity when updating Oxygen OS) and it worked a treat! All is good. Backup > unroot > update > install > magisk all the things and it's working fine.
Thanks!

Fix dec 2016/jan 2017: Snapchat on rooted android device running xposed.

POST IS UPDATED REGULARLY.
LINK 1 - Parallel Space: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lbe.parallel.intl&hl=en
LINK 2 - Parallel Space 64-Bit Support: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lbe.parallel.intl.arm64&hl=en
Salutations. (That means 'Hello').
NOTE: For those who are interested, I will include background information about how I came to the solution. All that other jazz too. First and foremost however; the fix!
SOLUTION:
Right at the top of the post, you will find two links. This being a new account and all (don't ask), until I create 10 posts I cannot include any outside links. So once I've done so, I will update the post.
STEP **: So at the top of the post, there are clearly two links. 64-Bit Android devices are becoming increasingly common. This architecture may pose a few problems. give the application framework. Should you own a 64-Bit device, I recommend installing this application too (LINK 2). This will theoretically prevent any obstacles.
Pre-requisite(s): Make sure you have the 'Snapchat' application installed. It is recommended to have installed the latest update from the Google Play Store.
STEP ONE: Download the application appended to LINK 1. This is called Parallel Space. You might recognize the name (its creators are the same who allow you to seamlessly virtualize Windows OS on Mac OS).
STEP TWO: Launch the application.
STEP THREE: You should be prompted with a grid-like interface. Here you will be greeted with a range of familiar icons. In the top right corner of each icon, you will notice a blue check-mark. Make sure that there is one next to the 'Snapchat' icon. This will ensure that the app is 'cloned'.
STEP FOUR: In the 'Parallel Space' app, tap on the 'Snapchat' icon. This will launch the application.
STEP FIVE: From here it is pretty self-explanatory. You are greeted by the standard 'Snapchat' interface. Tap on 'Log In'. Then proceed to do so.
STEP SIX: 'Snapchat' should be functioning as normal.
STEP SEVEN (BONUS): During testing, this worked on and off. --
Remain logged-in to the 'cloned' 'Snapchat' application within the 'Parallel Space' application.
Then proceed to launch the stock 'Snapchat' application.
Next attempt to 'Log-In'.
Should this operation be successful, you are then free to uninstall 'Parallel Space' and any related assets from your device.
HOWEVER, I personally do not recommend this. When logging out or updating the 'Snapchat' application, errors may be re-encountered.
Instead, I recommend that if possible, do use the stock application, but leave 'Parallel Space' installed. Using the stock app will improve efficiency and reduce the load on system resources. But keeping the 'Parallel Space' application on the device, well; you get the point.
Enjoy the fix! If it does not work, please let me know [Device Name and Model No.]. I've tested on various devices, succeeded every-time. Do keep in mind that this is a loop-hole, so may be patched in future or not work at all for some devices.
Background (Because I know someone will ask): The idea came to mind while using a LG G5 as a daily driver. I had tested every custom ROM available for the device. The problem was that with custom ROM's, there was always an issue, Malfunctioning sensors, camera's not working persistently, etc , etc.
The G5's stock ROM left me wanting more. The overbearing interface made it a living hell. Plus, the device just being rooted (NO XPOSED) meant that 'Snapchat' did not work. I looked for fixes for a time, but could not find any.
Development of ROM's for the device is on-going, and I am an active member. But I just couldn't handle not being able to use the camera (one of the device's best features) and no accelerator, screen-rotation, etc. So I went back to stock again. Do keep in mind that I was alternating/dual-booting between custom and stock ROM's just because of the camera; mainly.
This most recent time. instead of flashing stock MM, I flashed stock N for the G5. For 850, it has been officially released in some countries, and a manual flash via TWRP was a peice of cake.
This update is a lot better. I am running Nova Launcher again. So it makes it look a little better. Themes have also been improved. I am using an in-built dark one which makes the device look a lot better aesthetically. Additionally, I'm rocking a white carbon-fibre skin on the exterior; improving grip and overall security. The only issue was again, no 'Snapchat'.
After a few days, I had the idea to attempt this. I tested my theory and it worked! That's it.
Please do keep in mind that I will update this post as often as possible.
P.S This was tested just after updating to the latest version of 'Snapchat' which was a significant update. It included Shazam, Groups, etc. So you know, pretty cool that it worked.
Did not work on Google Nexus 5 running Android 7.1.1. Still gives error message saying that I can't connect to the server.
Same here, not working on freshly reinstalled and rooted 7.1.1 Nexus 5x. No Xposed, no nothing. I get the infuriating "temporarily failed" message in both cloned and regular modes.

I'm pretty sure if you get Xposed framework, there's a module that allows you to hide root from apps. Problem is that there is no Xposed framework for Android 7 yet. Hope this helps.

I personally tried the module on cm13 but it doesnt work for me. I think that somehow snapchat knows when you use xposed too.
The thing is that on aosp roms with root already build in sometimes snapchat do not catch it but if you have xposed, no way you can get in. For that freaky snapchat app here is what i did: install any rom, if if had root build in i then install su uninstaller zip with twrp then log in into snapchat and after that, rooting with super su zip again. The catch is that once you log out of the app and attempt to log in again, you cant get in and you have to repeat the proccess. It's annoying as hell!!! They need to disable the security check, if people want to cheat che system somehow they will, so whats the point. Also there are much more tweaks for jailbroken iphones and they have no problem with it .
Sorry for the rant here buqt im super frustrated.

That's the only solution I've seen working so far. unroot and reroot. Root cloak doesn't work, parallel doesn't work. I should've logged in before rooting and I hate to do it again.
Any work arounds yet? I've seen ppl do it using titanium backup but I'm not sure if that works. Can anybody help?

Now that i think of it, when i uninstalled xposed it didn't work still. but after i "fully unrooted" through Super su and tried to sign in it worked. so it has to do with root or maybe both but the xposed didnt work for me. Thanks even though it didn't/wouldn't have worked for me!

Snapchat detects xposed framework.
Though at a time they did do root they since moved to blocking xposed due to the security concerns with money and also privacy of the user.
Though with certain phones and ect that could be the case I am using a s5 and have no issues.
just install magisk and systemless xposed and turn on magisk hide in magisk manager now snapchat won't detect root
then when u wanna log in just turn off xposed in xposed installer and reboot "it won't take time booting optimizing app when reactivated now" so reboot is easy
and u can have multiple accounts by backing up snapchat with titanium backup and don't ever log out just wibe its data and when u want to relog just restore the backup
and if u want to have multiple accounts access just patch the titanium backup with luckypatcher and have multiple backups (accounts)

make a nandroid backup if u want
1- full unroot by opening supersu and going to settings and press Full unroot and wait till it finishes and restart
2- download xposed uninstaller if u have xposed framework installed and flash it
3- install magisk manager from playstore
4- download and flash last magisk which is (12v) now from : https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/official-magisk-v7-universal-systemless-t3473445
5- flash magisk v12.0 which you downloaded now your phone will have systemless root
6- go into magisk manager app and go to settings and toggle "Magisk Hide" (ON) and restart now your root is hidden
7- remove your current xposed app and install this one : https://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/material-design-xposed-installer-t3137758
8- flash systemless xposed : https://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/unofficial-systemless-xposed-t3388268
9- reboot and go to the xposed installer app and toggle the xposed off or on as you want when u restart it won't take time optimizing apps like before so fast now
your root is hidden now but xposed is not but you can disable it and enable it easily
Instead of using Parallel Space (which I believe to be insecure) use Island to clone your apps. It's a little more advanced to setup, but it's a lot more secure. It works for rooted and non-rooted devices. On the 1st page of the thread, it explains how Parallel Space and others repack the apk file locally, which is dangerous. https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/closed-beta-test-incoming-companion-app-t3366295
Island never repack apk file locally, which is inherently insecure for users, since all your app data (including password input) are technically in the hand of MoboClean. (The same applies to other similar tools, e.g. LBE Parallel Space)
Instead, Island takes advantage of the underlying mechanism used by "Android for Work". This ensures that all your apps run natively in Android system and their data are securely stored in internal location of Android which is never accessible by Island. It has the same level of security as "Android for Work".

Be sure to read the disclaimer!!! The app is still only available in closed beta at the time of writing this, and could possibly cause you're device to bootloop or even possibly brick it, but root, xposed, or other modifications {in my opinion) has a higher chance of bootloops or bricking your device.
You follow the same steps in island to clone snapchat as you would in Parallel Space to login to snapchat. It might be possible to use the play store inside island to download snapchat inside island and login that way. I can't remember exactly how it works. I believe that island is a good way to test apps in a "sandbox environment" to keep the data excluded, safe and secure from the regular apps that you have installed outside of island.
I use Magisk now which bypasses SafetyNet which is what snapchat uses to "block access" to modified/rooted devices.
Probably the easiest method is to download Casper which is an alternative snapchat client that allows you to save snaps, and many other features that the official snapchat client can't do. Find Casper at www.casper.io
FYI Netflix has started to change how they do things as well by hiding the app's play store page from devices that have been modified or rooted, but it's still possible to simply sideload Netflix for now.

Xposed causes Snapchat to temporarily lock account?

I have a Samsung Galaxy S6 SM-G920W8 with the UlTiMaTe NouGaT S8+ Full Port V3.1 ROM. I am rooted with Magisk V18.0, and have Snapchat enabled in Magisk Hide. Every time I install Xposed v89.3 by topjohnwu, I get a message from Snapchat team a few hours later saying that my account is being temporarily locked for 12+ hours. Is anyone else experiencing the same issue? Is there a way to stop this? Is this caused by Xposed?
Xposed or root, i dont know but i had to say goodbye to snapchat since there is no way to get it working on rooted devices,i unroot, login, then root and after a couple of hours or maybe a day cant log in...titanium backup didnt do the trick neither, it is server syncd so they find out and block u
Yes, you have to hide root from Snapchat using Magisk Hide and uninstall Snapchat.
Then flash Xposed uninstall by flashing the uninstaller zip in recovery, reboot to system, install Snapchat and hide root from it and login, once logged in reboot to recovery, flash Xposed, reboot to system and it should work and stay working.
Repeat process in future if necessary.

That will work for MAYBE a few days. SC scans your phone now for xposed/root and will instantly ban it. Also, it keeps your device id stored on a blacklist so you'd have to change that too. They've gotten a lot sneaker about it. You can use an app like xprivacy lua or app ops to block this reading permission but it'll probably crash SC constantly. A few guys and I are trying to spoof the reading and device id and not get it to freak out but it's a slow process

Can't say I've ever only had it work for a few days, or only ever had it maybe work. It's worked for months now without issue.
I've also not had Snapchat "scan my phone" and I don't do anything special in that department, just regular Magisk Hide.
I've had it stop working once, months ago as I said above, and I just did the process and it started working again, no device ID change or blocking of permissions.

If you gave sc storage permission, then yes it does scan your phone periodically. It's declared in detail, in apps like app ops. Anyway though, without anyone capturing logs of when the ban is done (I'm talking to everyone that runs a sc mod of any sort) , nobody can really come up with the exact reason for them, only make educated guesses because it seems to not be one thing related \_(•-•)_/ Happy snapping!
Seems to be that Snapchat is detecting Xposed, whether it be non-systemless up to 8.1 oreo (v90 beta-3), systemless by topjohnwu, or systemless for 7.0-9.0 (EdXposed). I used Snapchat with non-systemless Xposed by rovo89 up till a month ago when I upgraded to PIE, then I used EdXposed. My new 9.0 PIE setup worked well with SnapFreedom and EdXposed until I upgraded EdXposed and Snapchat to 10.51.0.0 when I got my first ban.
Plan for attack (haven't tried, banned on alt) to use Snapchat and Xposed (Possibly also Xposed modules?) without ban:
-Use AppCloner to rebuild the snapchat apk with minimal permissions (I have premium version). I was going to go this route, but AppCloner rebuilds com.snapchat.android to com.snapchat.androie, breaking SnapFreedom. Bare permisisons: CAMERA, MICROPHONE, and maybe LOCATION? PHONE permission will give away your IMEI and other stuff, and STORAGE may trigger Xposed detection.
-Use LuckyPatcher to deny snapchat certain perissmions, including read external storage.
This thread got me thinking: https://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/xposed-root-snapchat-uninstall-xposed-t3909199

Magisk not hiding root from Random Dice

Does anyone know how can I hide the root from Random Dice?
Im getting detected on my rooted xiaomi so I had to download bluestacks to contact the support (the only way to contact them is from the game).
What I've tryed:
- Updated magisk to 20.4 & Magisk Manager to 7.5.1
- Checked the game in magisk hide
- Renamed magisk
I even asked the support of the game itself
(can't post links, had to split it )
https://

Somehow they knew I was on bluestacks soo probs I'd better not use that anymore...
As far as I can see Magisk has no issues hiding from the app. If the app is detecting Bluestacks though, and you are using it, that's not something that Magisk can help with.

When does the game detect root? I tested and without adding the app to the Hide list I got an error 666 at start and the app closed down. But, with the app on the list and with the Manager hidden I could start it without issue.
This was tested on a OnePlus 3T, Android 9, with Canary build 20409 and hidden Manager 284.

Sounds like the app is detecting something else than Magisk then (stuff that Magisk can't hide). You can find info about that in the link I posted above.

If none of the things in my link works, that message might mean that they've simply blocked you. You've contacted them, sure, but since you did that through Bluestacks they might think that's the issue. You probably need to keep talking to them for a possible unblock.

SOLVED [issue] Magisk module download error & SafetyNet API error

Hi, im running Android 10 with OneUI 2.5 rooted by Magisk v.21 on my Samsung Galaxy NOTE 10 Lite,
Root is working correctly, i have root access for donated FDE.AI, X-Plore file manager and etc..
Im using few Magisk modules, like Viper4Android and they works well too.
But, any atempt to download or install Magisk module from its own online reposirory ends with "Error downloading file", and atempt to check SafetyNet status gives me "SafetyNet API error" afzer hiting Ok to download SafetyNet API...
I searched on google, and here on the forum for similar problems, but i found topics from 2017 year (outdated)
Can anyone hp me solve this prob please?
Both those issues (module download error and SafetyNet API error) suggest that there are Internet connection problems.
There's been a couple of similar reports, but those have usually been fixed by clearing data for, or reinstalling the Manager.
Also make sure that you don't have any firewall rules or similar that might be restricting internet access for the Manager.
Thx for respone. I tried to delete Managers cache and App data too, nothing changes. I also tried to reinstall App, but no change.
About internet connection, yesterday I had to downgrade Magisk from v.21 beta to v.20.4 stable for unexpected random reboots 5times a day.. I done that in Magisk Manager App, selecting "Direct install (recommended)". Magisk downloaded necessery files without any problem and flashed it.
And, i dont use any third party security apps (antivirus, firevall).
So, any idea? After downgrade magisk reboots solved, here reported issue no.
No idea. A logcat might show what's up:
https://www.didgeridoohan.com/magisk/MagiskHelp
Heres my logcat, filters: level error, keyword magisj
Heres my new logcat, printed at error level verbose, filtered by keyword magisk.
I see only one problem, file permission (write permission), but where magisk wont write? Im able seriously give 777 permissions to this folder ?
Or did anybody see anything else?..
For now, nothing changes in my phone configuration.. FW version the same as in 1. Post, magisk v 20.4, actual stable magisk manager.. I also tried canary magisk manager, but the canary version wont load module list and crashed down at all, including UI.

I have not had any opportunity to look at your log (and the new one won't download since it seems like the XDA attachments server is acting up again, good thing there's a new one on the way).
But, that the Canary Manager will crash when you try to access the modules list is yet another sign that your issue is that the Manager cannot get an internet connection (that's a currently known bug).
Thx u for your time . So, its known bug, but is there some way to solve it and get magisk manager functional? Or its not a global issue and its not specific to each user
It's a known issue that the Manager will crash when you enter the modules download section without an internet connection. It's not a common issue that the Manager can't get a connection at all.
I still suspect that there's something on your device that is blocking internet access for the Manager somehow.
Have the same problem.Magisk Manager 8.0.2 on Android 9,Magisk is working fine, but i become no update info for modules and i cant download any module, but 3 days ago all was ok,weird.
I think, that is not any app blocking magisk internet connection. The last stable mahisk manager dont have any problem to load online module list, and download of magisk core is aleays possible, as install ing core too....
But, i dont have time right now for test it, it is possible to reboot to safe mode and there run magisk?
I still cant understand that some app blocking magisk internet connection...
Look at my screenshot of magisk manager latest stable version, the connection working, magisk showing modules wich got updated today......
Sorry, but i still hope, that magisk manager do not have internet connection error, in screen, he knows about the module updated version, but it still wont download..
Im ready for N770FXXU6CTJ2 update, im going to flash it right now... Im confused of magisk support,
Is that last one with the Stable or Canary Manager? There seems to be something weird going on, and there have been some similar reports.
I suggest that you switch over to Canary again (Magisk and Manager) and grab a verbose logcat when you have connection issues. Upload that to a new GitHub issue where you also make sure to give all possible details as to what works and don't work on the stable Manager contra what works and doesn't work on the Canary Manager.
That way, better eyes than mine might be able to take a look at it and see if there is indeed something going on.
Nevermind... See below.
I solved reported issue on my device...
The reason is, Lucky Patcher and blocking ads on device...
I opened LP, opened Toolbox/Block Ads and pressed Clear local hosts file... Now everything is working fine...
Ok... Nice to know I wasn't wrong. :good:
Sad to see that app being used...

I'm having an issue also with passing safetynet on Razer Phone 2 (Cheryl 2). Rooted with Magisk 22.1 and TWRP arter Kernel. Had a rough time getting the "new" all-in-one Magisk installed properly. I'm using adfree for an adblocker. I've cleared the hosts file and rebooted MANY times, to no avail. Thinking I may need to uninstall Magisk and go back to 20.4 and install the old Magisk Mgr. app. Any help would be appreciated. If you need log files, let me know. I DO have root as Ti Backup, ROM Toolbox, adfree all have root access.

Question Not passing safetynet(Play Integrity API) on pixel 7

I made a big mistake yesterday. I saw threads about the new Play Integrity API thing and download the Integrity API checker. At that time, the integrity API checker cannot pass MEETS_DEVICE_INTEGRITY but my YASNAC can pass CTS profile. So I installed the Displex mod of the universal safetynet fix. I saw that my DEVICE_INTEGRITY passed but after testing a bit I found that it's not very consistent. Then after checking out the original repo knowing that there will be a release about this fix soon, I Installed back v2.4.0. This is when everything goes wrong. My device can no longer pass CTS profile. I tried wiping storage of the GAPPS, install back the modded module, remove Magiskhide props config. It is still not working. I cannot use my GPay now. Please help me get my GPAY back. Thanks for all the help.
To clarify my current setup, I have the modded v2.3.1_MOD2.1 installed now and props config removed.
Also a small question, do I need to wait for the device to get certified to get the CTS profile match or it should immediately work if everything is right.

safetynet-fix 2.3.1-MOD_2.1 should get you back on track. It's a popular topic today for those of us caught off guard.
Waiting for Play Protect certification should work but clearing storage for Play Store and Play Services will speed it up.

Yeah I already have USNF 2.3.1_MOD2.1 installed. However, my question is that is the CTS profile a prerequisite for the device to get certified or it should first get certified then the CTS profile match will work.
Hi
Im having sort of same problem, untill today my phone passed everything, gpay worked and all good..
from nothing it started to fail, not passing CTS profile match, gpay doesnt work.
tried everything, reinstalled magisk, reinstalled the modules, tried 2.3.1 mod, tried 2.4.0. Nothing works.
best i've achieved, is passing safetynet once, but after 2-3 min, it doesnt pass anymore.
any ideas what to do now?

I'm Play Store certified but I don't pass CTS profile match
I am not sure if anyone has the same problem as mine. I configured magisk denylist as picture attached which included "play store service". The restarted the phone, went back to the denylist "play store service" gone

If you mean Google Play Services, that's normal and intended behavior if using a USNF mod. It's "denied" in the background.
Can confirm that the new 3.0 MOD from Displax works flawlessly. I just installed it and everything is working.

I you still have issues with Banking / Wallet app (even passing SN checks) then install Shamiko Module, disable Enforce Deny List and try. This module takes charge of DenyList hidding Zygisk itself and Zygisk modules.
good morning
after maby 20 hours of hiding the magic by Shamiko moldes
itis ok
and fine
I have a Google Pixel 7 with Magisk V25.2, Universal SafetyNetFix V2.4.0 and I still can't install some apps and some other are not even visible in the results.
I've tried with and without the deny list (clearing cache and storage of Google Play service/store/protect), but nothing.
I've spent the last 2 days banging my head on the wall looking for solution, but...nothing.
Do you guys know something that works?

Yes, Canary builds 25206 (831a398b) or 25209 (2717feac) and patch accordingly. Plus the modified safetynet-fix module.

Wait wait, I'm not familiar with that, how do I get the APK or if it's a Magisk module where do I get the .ZIP?
And what do you mean with "patch accordingly"?
Thanks a lot!

Browse the repo and download app-release.apk. On a PC click the <> symbol to the right. If you're navigating from a phone tap the Browse files button to locate the file. I suggest caution and go with 25206. Anything after it has problems except maybe 25209, which worked ok for me but not for everybody. Once Canary is installed avoid the update button.
First, uninstall your current Magisk and restore init_boot.img back to stock. The phone is unrooted at this point.
Whichever Magisk release you install next, patch init_boot.img with that release. The phone should be rooted at this point.
Then your modules and Magisk configuration.
The safetynet-fix module you want is named safetynet-fix-v2.4.0-MOD_1.2.zip.

Thanks a lot fr your detailed explanation, you're very kind!
Buuut...the update button is exactly where the install button is, how can I patch the init_boot.img?
Should I really go back to the original init_boot.img first?

I don't know what's up with the buttons. Install is needed to select your file to patch. And yes, when starting over it's usually best to clean patch the boot image with the Magisk release that's running, although not always. If you don't mind posting a screen shot of Magisk it might help get a better perspective.
