Hi Xperia lovers,
I'm now using Sony ZR (stock rom C5502_10.7.A.0.222_R1E_Customized IN) and I having a problem with ClearAudio+ function that it seem the bass much weaker, less deep and there is no stereo widening in sound when the ClearAudio+ is turned on.
I aslo compared with ClearAudio+ of my Sony Xperia E4 (run stock Rom Kitkat 4.4.2 VN) of my borther. There is very much different in sound experiment. The Sony E4's ClearAudio+ has more bass, very deep, strong and stereo widening is very clear.
So why there are different ClearAudio+ in Sony's devices?
I also downgraded my Xperia ZR to Kitkat 4.4.2 (stock rom C5502_10.5.1.A.0.283_Customized_IN) but there is no help..
Could anyone show me how to solve this problem?
More detail:
In setting of Music app of the ZR (both rom Lollipop), I used accesory setting is STH-30 and Dynamic Normalizer is turned on.
I listen to music by Sony MH-750 headphone. And when I change accesory setting to MH-750 is very terrible, no more bass, sound was narrow... but only the STH-30 is the best one.

I noticed that the Walkman music app's equalizer has really bad quality when tweaked in any way (even ClearBass),
when on .195 and .223, it sounds badly distorted (especially when ClearBass is adjusted). Now on .489, its as though a limit had been applied (volume goes up and down automatically).
Poweramp's equalizer when tried worked fine, no distortions, and bass can be turned up without muddling.
Never had such an issue with previous Xperia phones (had the XS and Ion, their EQs and enhancements worked really well), is this the case on all Xperia Ts?

I completely agree.
I've done some extensive comparison listening tests between an Xperia TL LT30at with stock 7.0.B.1.152 firmware and another LT30at alternating between .223 and .489 Generic using the same source audio files, volume settings and In Ear Monitors. EQ was off. ClearAudio+ and ClearStereo off in .489.
The phones are identical hardware-wise. Only the firmware is different. Since I had two phones, I was able to just swap my IEM plug quickly between them. I used a variety of music styles.
The stock AT&T firmware's Walkman sounds much better than .223 and .489. The sound is clearer with a fuller, punchier bass, smoother highs, and a much more spacious stereo sound field. For me, it's a pretty huge difference. :good:
The .223 Walkman sounds thinner with a brighter overall response and narrower stereo spread along with increased audible distortion.
The .489 Walkman just adds to everything that's bad about .223 but even worse. Thin, narrow, no body, no punch. Distorted. Very disappointing. My Sony Ericsson W508 Walkman flip phone sounds better than this!
I've not tried .303 or .195, but it appears that the AT&T .152 may have the same Walkman as .303.
In conclusion, the AT&T firmware has such a superior-sounding Walkman app that I was willing to give up .489's very nice HDR camera app. Shame on Sony for not keeping quality of sound with the "flashy" updates.
i started using this headphone Sony MH-EX300AP on my xperia Z and on right ear headphone has low sound comming , i switch used left to right and sound is lil high on left then right , dos anyone have low sound on right earphone , also is there a way to increase right earphone sound

So in the last few days i see like.. a LOT of topics started with the title (audio problem etc)
The problem is that de Xperia Z doesn't recognizes an headphone with a inbuit microphone (like the Apple Earpods)
However... the Xperia Z does recognize headphones WITHOUT microphone buit-in!
Try using a normal pair of earbuds without mic and see if the problem is still there... im 100% sure that this is the problem and not with the new update! (or your headphone jack is faulty)
Also had this problem with my Xperia Arc were the music sounds muffled..
So you want to use headphones with inbuilt mic with the Xperia Z?
1. plug in the headphones
2. start the music player (dont play music yet)
3. press a few times on the play button/answer button on the mic and the music will start trough the headphones!
This is an issue with the software on the Xperia Z and not with 4.2.2

Harvey

Except that for most of users having this problem, the headset was working under the 4.1.2 and NOT with the 4.2.2 update so it think it's an issue with the 4.2.2 update or something like that as you can read it here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2355500
Good morning everyone.
I've been searching ,but I did not found any tips for my request.
I'd like to increase the volume for the headphones (but not the speaker) on the Xperia Z. By modifying the snd_soc_msm_2x_Fusion3 or intsalling a audio MOD. Anything for me ?
By the way my XZ runs the 10.5.1.A.0.292 firmware.
Thanks .
It is sound weired to have such a way to change ClearAudio+ of Xperia E4 to the ClearAudio+ of Xperia ZR.
For a lot of times and genres of music, I figured out that the ClearAudio of E4 is much better with deep bass, sound widening clearly which makes your ear is more relax and comfortable in long time listening. However, in the ZR, there is no more deep bass and sound widening.
I used my headphone MH-750 to listen to both kind of ClearAudio+, the ZR have to set accessory setting to STH-30 is more bass but of course when you set to MH-750 seting, the sound turned worse.
So is there any way to make ClearAudio+ from E4 to be used in ZR?
