I recently installed the Noble Nougat Experience 1.2 rom on my galaxy s6 tmobile variant. Unfortunately the rom cannot recognize my sim card. Is there any way to fix this?
you can flash another rom, which is also based on android 7.0
I have tested on my G920T, and SIM card is working, the only problem is the battery is terrible.
The only nougot room with the kernel for our device is nemesis rom
That rom have the same problem and calle audio too

The version 3.1 has solved this problem.
I extracted both the Nemesis rom and Noble nougat. Copied Noble system to Nemesis, deleting the one origanily in Nemesis. Zipped back up and now running Noble with Nemesis kernel. I have debloated and have no battery issues. No issues at all that I have encountered.
EDIT: I forgot. only issue is when changing screen resolution which is known.

can you tell me what should i replace from Noble to Nemesis in detail. THX
Noble Rom is about to be updated this weekend with support for T-Mobile. I would just wait for the update. But if you don't want to wait. Once you have extracted both ROMs. Take the folder named Dream from Noble and copy it to Nemisis. Delete system folder from Nemisis and then rename Dream to system. Archive the Rom and flash as usual.

Are you extracting/archiving on phone or computer? I did on phone using Root Explorer. Some other apps I have tried fail to properly extract/archive.

I did exactly what you did it and it worked great. One question though: I noticed by doing this method you do not get the edge features that come with either of the roms alone. Do you know of a way to get that? Thank you.

I upgraded to Noble 2.0. I don't use edge panel but I installed to test for you and it is working. But it was reported that TMO was still not working in 2.0 so instead of moving the new system to Nemisis I moved Nemisis kernel boot.img and TMO fix folder to Noble.
Edit: Edge panel is installed using aroma which is another reason to move to Noble instead of Nemisis.

There are multiple boot.img files within the nemesis zip file. Would all be required or is there a specific one that is necessary to work for T-mobile?

Just the one for your model. boots6etmo.img=edge. boots6ftmo.img=flat. Be sure to rename the files to the same as files they are replacing.

Download Nemesis ROM 3.1 and Noble ROM 2.0, decompile on your computer, copy the Nemesis boot image and T-mobile files to the Noble folder, recompile the Noble folder on your phone using Root Explorer, full wipe and flash the recompiled zip, and there you go
Everything works perfectly smooth

Using Root Explorer I extracted Nemesis v3.1 and Noble 2.0. Then go to extracted folder( stock location is speedsoftware/extracted). From Nemesis you want to copy the following files, nemesis/kernel/TMO_FIX and the boot.img file for your device. (boots6etmo.img=edge)(boots6ftmo.img=flat) You want to put TMO_FIX in Noble folder. You will see a folder named T-Mobile. Delete it and rename TMO_FIX to T-Mobile. Then put your boot.img in Noble/Kernels/920_TMobile if you have flat or 925_TMobile if you have edge. Delete the original boot.img file and rename one frome Nemesis to boot.img. Go back and archive the Noble Rom. You should get a folder in Speedsoftware/Archives tiltled Noble_Nougat_Experience_2.0.zip. This is what you will flash in recovery. Be sure to do a clean install.

if ur talking about adb I dont have a windows computer can't use adb even if I did I dont know how to use it to type in the code plus read the rest of my post I tried the other method and it didn't work...
anybody else?
[edit]
Look below for the correct way
I did this mod on mine and I am using Cognition 2.2beta 5 with 2e kernel.
The proper way to do this is, Get Root Explorer from the market. Make a backup copy of your framework-res.apk and save it to your PC in case you have a problem. Click over the link for the battery mod you want and download it directly to your phone. Then go to Root Explorer and find the download, rename it to framework-res.apk and copy and paste it over your current framework-res.apk. the framework will be located in the system folder. You will find the battery mods for cognition on a thread for stock lockscreen and battery mods in the development section of the forum.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=799511 only use the battery mods from this thread for Cognition ROM you are running.

Connect to your computer, make sure you're in Debugging mode, and mount your SD card to copy files from your computer to your phone. Select which version of Fightspits you like, re-name it "framework-res.apk" and copy it to your phone. Make sure to unmount your SD card from your computer
Using Root Explorer (VERY IMPORTANT!! Make sure the grey bar at the top says Mount R/O, if it says Mount R/W, click it) go to location /system/framework and find the file "framework-res.apk" touch it and hold until Options comes up, and select "Copy". I paste it to my External SD card in a folder I create named "Backup".
Then go back to the location that you saved your renamed Fightspit apk, copy it and paste it to /system/framework. Say yes to overwrite the existing file.
Reboot and your done
Got it?

@Riannon224; and @mcord11758
please re-read the OP's and the 1st line of my post,
You are correct IF you are running froyo and a Cog version prior to 6. However the OP and my post are not talking about Cog prior to beta 6. The update.zip does not work with Cog beta5 becasue Cog beta5 uses the recovery 3e and not the 2e; and the 3e recovery does not accept update's that are not correctly signed. Cog Beta 6 and Cog 7 uses the modified JI6 kernel and uses the 2e recovery which does accept unsigned update.zip's
My method does not require spending any money; and since the upate.zip does work on Cog6, use Rom Manager to backup your phone.
Your method will also work, and in the case of the OP so will mine. I have used Beta6 and 7 and my method works perfectly. I will say that your method it more details and the real proper way to do this, however to make it easy....
[edit] If you are running Cog 5 or Froyo and want to enable using update.zip files, flash the kernel here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=804226 it reactivates the 2e recovery, and is the same kerenl that is used in Cog 6 and 7

I have the kernel flashed with 2e recovery on my phone, I did it prior to Cognition beta 6 so I didn't need to flash beta 6 because I did the fix manually a few days before Designgears updated. This is from the mod thread, read it for yourself.

JI6 Mods
Changelog
Update 10/12:
Added Version Z / Guage indicator.
Added original android.policy.odex from JI6 for those who don't like Cog using mine as default.
Update 10/5 Again:
Added Circle battery indicators (valid for all 2.2 JI6)
Update 10/5:
Added Deodexed version to work with Cognition 2.2 Beta 2
v1 -> v2:
Fixed bug with text/missed calls allowing puzzle lock to return.
What are these?
Stock Lock
-Modifies your lock screen to re-enable the stock android lock screen.
-This INCLUDES the "disable menu button" fix (so you can't unlock with the menu button).
-This will REMOVE the current glass/puzzle lock screen, to restore glass, put your old android.policy.odex back!
Circle Battery Indicators
-This changes the battery indicator to a different theme.
-See Fightspit's thread for screenshots: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=724778
-Your background will default to the Cognition background since that's which APK I started from. (just change it)
Make backups of your current file(s)!
How to install:
1. Download the file for the mod you want.
2. Back up your current file!!! (cp /system/framework/<file> /sdcard/<file>.bak)
3. Replace your existing file /system/framework/<file>. REMEMBER SU if necessary.
3a. Via ADB: adb push <file> /system/framework/<file>
3b. Via terminal emu: cp <file> /system/framework/<file>
3c. Via root explorer, etc. Copy paste. (easiest method if you are unsure)
5. Reboot and enjoy.
It does not matter about 2e, that is not the issue, this battery mod for Froyo is not a flashable.zip.
In the OP the link was the deodexed version which I do not believe works with an Odexed ROM and he stated and incombatabilty issue. He does not have access to ADB and I am not trying to make him spend money on Root Explorer but it is an easy way to access the root and modify framework-res.apk when adb is not an option.
Here is the version from the OP it is not for JI6
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=756627
How to install:
this does not work with rom manager
copy the file over to the root of your sdcard, rename it update.zip, reboot into recovery mode, select "reinstall packages"

No just flash with Odin back to stock and then reflash your version of Cognition, I am not sure what went wrong, that is the method I used although, I had to do this process twice to get it right. I had to Odin back to stock and reflash Cognition and it worked on the second try. Post your question on the section for the mod. You used this one I hope. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=799511 Make sure you copied and pasted only the framework-res.apk in the system/ data / framework.
Dude, I would just use metamorph. You can copy any paste the png files if you don't like minimalistic battery circle.

There has been a lot of discussion on what works on ClockWorkMod v3 and what doesn't. One of the biggest problems (besides ROM installations) is how to apply existing ZIP files that don't work in CWM3 because they are outdated.
So, if you have upgraded to CWM v3 and want to use some old zips there is an answer
nubecoder in the Android Development and Hacking > Android Software Development forum came up with an excellent tool for converting the old update-script to the new updater-scrip and binary needed for CWM3
Give it a look:

Extract the zip to a folder. Run it. Select open then the zip or script you want to convert. then save it.
Great find Nils. I guess I need to convert mine.
EDIT: It converted them all perfectly, once I realized I needed to choose "Incredible" from the device menu. LOL
If you want an alternative to using the script converter I attached 2 zip files. One is for updates to the /system/app/ folder and the other is /system/framework/ folder
All you need to do is use 7zip to copy (drag and drop) your files to the appropriate sub folder in the zip file.
You can then name the zip file to whatever you like.
Sorry to muck up the thread with this question but since it's on topic... how do i flash back to the old version of CWM? since rom manager just comes up with an error...
nevermind I got one of the older 2.5 to work
This app was updated just this morning with the option to convert scripts for the incredible. I've tried it on a few zips and it works perfect

it didn't corrupt your kernel. Just manually push the BCM4329.ko file through adb.
or just to be safe just push everything again manually. That way you know everything was done right.

It could be an issue with the download. Find the file with astro or root explorer and delete it then redownload, or download to your computer and place it on the xoom and have the app install from the sd card instead of downloading it.
If it still doesnt work for you, just reflash the one click root and give it a day or two for the devs to update the app or something.
Hope everything works out for you

Well.... Uhhh.... Thats not something I tried myself. But I think it would be pretty easy... When you extract the root my xoom folder to your computer, open it up and find the kernel files... then replace them with the updated files from the 1.3.2 zip file. Just unzip the 1.3.2 folder and copy and paste.
Hope this helps

I dont have a current version of the one click root, but I would think to look inside either the wifi root folder or the tiamat folder (inside the rootmyxoom folder). Whichever one has the same files from the 1.3.2 folder, copy and paste them over to that folder inside the rootmyxoom folder and you should be golden.
ive looked thru them all , i dont see any files in any of those folders that look like the ones that come in the zip
open up the tiamit files in the root my xoom folder and replace with whatever kernel you want to use. I did this three times with tiamit 1.3.0, and .1 and .2. You can try to just replace the entire file or go in and replace the indiviual files from within the tiamit kernel folder. Be careful though if you replace the wrong files or mix them up could be bad results, usually just no wifi or bootloops.
Oh by the way i always did all this on a windows based computer that way the files look the same or similar

Wow, Kernel manager just solved my problem of flashing the new tiamat 1.4.0 kernel.

It was resolved by using Kernel Manager!!!

also rename the bootanimation to what yours is named either ATT_bootanimation.zip or bootanimation.zip
Here is how I did it.
1. Download the .zip to your desktop and rename this file to the file that your device uses. (I use ATT, so I navigated to system, customize, resource, and that's where I saw my boot animation and it was, ATT_bootanimation.zip
2. Mount the disk so you can open the external sd drive on your computer
3. Moved the .zip file from the desktop to the external sd drive
4. I use Rom Toolbox, but use a root explorer and copy the bootanimation zip file from your external sd card, to your devices bootanimation file, It will ask if you want to overwrite or keep both files, but you MUST overwrite. Reboot phone and it should work. If that doesn't then try and install it from your recovery and you might have to delete the cache, but try that.
I do recommend backing up the phone and the current rom though...Just incase
Is there a specific place to go where i can download different boot animations for the vivid as well as preview them before downloading?

You can always try this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1678540&highlight=sense
You have to download them first but it lets you see what it will look like.
Don't overwrite your ATT_bootanimation.zip file just rename it ATT_bootanimation.bak (or just bootanimation.bak if your original bootanimation file is named just bootanimation). This way if you can't get it to work then you can delete the file that dosen't work and go back to your original file by putting the .zip back.
Try install boot animation factory
HTC VIVID 4.0.4 SENSE 4.1
I'd love to try Annimation Factory but it requires Win SP3. I only have/use the laptop my company gives me and they control what SP are installed with an iron fist and we are only on SP1. I really need to build a new box. I"m still working on doing it the old fashion way as discribed in the OP's document.
EDIT - FYI - I installed Annimation Factory and it works just fine on SP1. One thing that I have noticed every time I open it it prompts me there is a new version even when turning off the check for updates in settings. When I try to download the new version it gives a downloader error. I don't think this is related to SP1. The AF version I have works good though. I'll go and get the new version manually.

good day.
So the question is: How do you restore the bootsamsung.qmg, bootsamsungloop.qmg (or whatever is needed) instead of the bootanimation.zip?
Make a nandroid backup first and try app like root explorer or root browser lite and try to replace the files but make a backup of files that will be replaced first you could search for files within these apps i do not know exactly the path of them
Sent from my GT-P5100 using xda app-developers app
The files bootsamsung.qmg, bootsamsungloop.qmg are still present in these ROMs, in the correct location. When I remove the bootanimation.zip, I get the standard "ANDROID" flashing startup, which I actually prefer to the ones baked in by ROM devs. However, I would like to know how to get the stock animation back.

As it stands with Samsung ics. The custom bootanimation is a kernel thing. You would have to re enable it in the kernel. Or swap boot.IMG from one of prerooted roms with whatever boot.IMG in the Rom your using. It's in the init.rc you can prolly do it with root explorer.
