Can you flash it through adb? That's how I flashed mine this morning and it worked great
What ROM were you using before flashing TWRP 3.1.0? Try version 3.0.4-1, it had the greatest compatibility.

Thanks for ur help, I tried it with oxygen open beta 3, the problem got sorted by flashing it 3 more times by fastboot method, I guess it was some compatibility issue, TWRP 3.1.0 is now working fine but still the phone is facing prob like now it first takes me fastboot and from there I have to boot my phone.

Xiaomi Developer ROMs are delivered through flashable zips and through fastboot images, maybe look into the second option. Be aware that Xiaomi ROMs might replace the Recovery upon boot, if that isn't included in the fastboot image already, which I think is likely, and take a look into potential partitioning hazards.
Edit: To be extra helpful, here's the thread http://en.miui.com/thread-149081-1-1.html
I failed while flashing miui 7 stable on cwm r11, btw miui 6 worked for me everytime even on extended partition.
So I'd say no

really cuz twrp failed me everytime
which version of twrp are you using
Yes really, twrp is version 2.8.5.0 . To repartition i used cwm recovery, then i changed to twrp.
When i tried to flash miui v6 with twrp i failed, then i changed to cwm recovery, and then i flashed. Try like this if twrp makes failed flashing.

what about miui 7 did you flash it with cwm too
I also faced same issue, I found workaround for it from MIUI forums.
1) Go to recovery and wipe all (except internal storage)
2) Flash MIUI rom
3) You will get error, now just go to reboot and select recovery
4) flash rom again (without wiping) and it should work
Using latest TWRP

did you try the above steps on TWRP?
and does it work on extended partition
Yes twrp-2.8.7.0
I am on stock partition now. I think it should work with extended partition as it worked for me in the past when I tried MIUI 6. Its only the update which you will need to flash using recovery. Give it a try.
Yes i flashed with twrp recovery, it was working. First i flashed stable miui v7, then i reflashed with stable rooted version of miui v7 stable. so 2 times flashed v7 with twrp on extended partitions. I have mi4. but it should work as it is cancro

Hi guys.
I had been on RR Oreo for quite a while and as I wasn't happy with battery endurance, I decided to go back to RR Nougat.
Initially, I just downloaded the zip and flashed it on the latest official TWRP 3.2.1.
The phone just bricked.
I then proceeded to flash Stock ZUI Nougat 3.1 with QFIL, flashed TWRP again and tried to flash RR Nougat. No way. Apparently /system was not properly mounting and I just got stuck on "flashing system" steps.
I tried to format data and system partitions, change them to ext2, ext3, f2fs and back on ext4, repaired the filesystem, wiped all /system, /data, /cache and /dalvik and nothing happened.
Actually, after rebooting to recovery, I noticed that I always got the "swipe for modifications menu" and /system could not be mounted. I could only apparently mount system after changing the partition type back and forth. However, it didn't seem to be really mounted in fact as everytime I tried to flash a ROM (being it RR, AEX or even custom-made stock ones), they got stuck and sometimes even bricked my phone again.
I also tried to flash Stock Marshmallow by QFIL to no avail...
This is a very strange issue...
After more than 10 years of flashing custom firmware, this absolutely never happened to me.
Can you be so kind and share some ideas on how to solve this?
Many thanks
Update: my phone is got now hard bricked while using stock marshmallow rom.
Please, can you still help me with the issue I shared above?
I will try to revive my device in the meanwhile.
Update 2: Phone is back on stock after I did a homemade deep flash cable and flashed stock nougat with qfil. Still looking for a way to flash custom roms

Try with twrp 3.2.1-0 . Go to twrp /wipe /format dataand type "yes" . It will erase all your data and internal memory . If still get brick you should install zui 1.9.104 by qfil and start all from beginning .

Thanks a lot for the tip, my friend.
I did the formatting of data that you refer, no luck.
Anyway, I would like to try to flash zui 1.9 as I tried so far with 2.1, 2.3, 3.1 and 3.5.
However, all the links I found so far to download the 1.9 are down. Can you let me know where I can download 1.9?
Many thanks

Watch out -Zui 1.9.104 will relock bootloader . After that install Zui 3.1.194 bu qfil , then unlock bootloader , install twrp 3.1.1-0 and install non-treble custom rom ( RR 5.8.4 for example )

Solved! Dziekuje
Hello,
I've installed twrp 3.4.0.1 via fastboot, but after I select yes when i'm asked about erasing my data, the phone just boot up normally without deleting any of my data, but does not enter twrp either. Tried 3.4.0.0 too, no luck. Only 3.3.1.0 worked, but when I try to backup it says something like 'can't mount system partition' and some other errors. I think that version is too old for my rom, so I'm afraid to use it for backup/flash. My phone is LG G6 H870, Android 9, software version V30b. The phone is not rooted, the bootloader is unlocked. Tried to erase cache partition and install twrp 3.4.01 again, didn't work. I can't install Skyhawk or Orangefox becuase I can't use twrp.
Is anybody facing this problem too?
Thanks!

HI You need to use OrangeFox recovery or SkyHawk. If you plan to go to 10, then you need SkyHawk. And I think SkyHawk is maintained but OrangeFox not.

So can I install SkyHawk via fastboot over stock recovery without installing twrp beforehand? I see there are multiple files in the shyhawk zip, should I only extract the recovery img and install it via fastboot? I'm kinda new to this, thanks!

HI. It is made to flash in TWRP (same as OrangFox) So I really don't know if that recovery.img flashing through Fastboot works. Never tried, sorry.
Maybe someone knows though.

Ok, thanks, I'll try to find a solution, or maybe I'll just wait for the next version of twrp.
You should try installing the recovery and immediately installing any custom rom, when i flashed twrp the first time i had to do it several times cause somehow it got "erased" every time i noot the stock OS.
Ig you don't want to install a custom rom try right after installing twrp and on the fastboot screen to reboot to recovery with (Volume - ) button and power.
I think the idea is not letting the Stock os boot
Also that error. i have the same problem, the only moment it doesn't appear is when you wipe all data with the "Format Data" option inside "Wipe" menu in twrp.
After you boot to the OS once and go back to recovery it will come again everytime you flash something.
Not sure if its a problem or not, because i've dirty installed some updates and also installed gapps and magisk even with that error.
Im currently in A10 using Havoc and NikGapps.
TWRP 3.2.3-0

Yes, I know I have to install twrp again every time I let the stock rom boot, but the only version of twrp working is 3.2.3 and I think that was released before the G6 received official Android 9 update, so that's why I'm not very confident using it. I've tried to enter recovery immediately after I've installed it, so I don't think that's the problem.
I have the same problem on the LG G6 H870. I won't get to TWRP. I tried several versions of TWRP and nothing.
Edit.
This twrp is functional:
https://androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=289997
After installation using fastboot, restart directly to twrp using power+vol. down.
Finally i've successfully flashed Skyhawk using TWRP 3.3.1, so thanks everyone for advice!
Still couldn't make official TWRP 3.4.0/3.4.0.1 work.

Hi, I don't know if this goes here, I hope you can help me, I update twrp from version 3.1 to 3.4 and now I can't access twrp, how can I fix it?
Hello again, I answer myself, and if it helps someone else, using adb fastboot with twrp 3.2 Melina solves it and twrp works perfectly again.
Hi all,
I have a rooted redmit note 9 that was running the stock rom (EU version i believe as i am UK based) perfectly well for several months until today when then latest over the air update installed and my phone is now stuck in a bootloop where i can only access the custom PBRP recovery (installed from when i rooted previously). I can also access fastboot. I have tried wiping all data and cache etc, i have tried reflashing the magisk patched stock rom that previously worked, i have also tried flashing vbmeta that i flashed previously but still no luck. This is my only phone so I really need to get it working again.
I was about to try re-flashing the stock rom with SP tool but it tells me the scatter file is invalid.
Not sure what else to try now. I also note that when i PBRP loads up it always asks for a password however i dont have a password on the device.
Please could someone suggest something i could try?

Thanks very much for your response. Based on your advice i tried to flash the latest Kraken 11 Vanilla rom from this fourm, however after installing via TWRP now i can't even get into recovery anymore, just goes straight to fastboot.
Any other suggestions please?
I have now managed to get back in to TWRP and tried flashing lineage latest rom but still i am stuck in a boot loop taking me to fastboot this time.
Please can someone help suggest hwo i can get my phone working agian. At this point i dont care which rom i end up (custom or stock) with as long as i can get it to function again
If your device is rooted, you can NOT update the system using the OTA (over-the-air), or the device will be stucked in bootloop.
If your device is rooted, you need to update the system MANUALLY, using the fastboot or spflashtool.
I suggest to update the system using the fastboot.
Now, you need to flash the whole MIUI again, except userdata and you will have your device back.
For anyone with a asimilar problem i eventually managed to fix my issue by using miflash tool version 20180528 and flashing merlin_eea_global_images_V12.0.10.0.QJOEUXM_20210413.0000.00_10.0_eea_c4a9d5d7fc fastboot version which i downloaded from the xiami site.
I had to try this multiple times because the extraction of the file did not seem to be correct on the first attempts.
Hi there XDA, I am having a strange problem.
Recently I installed TWRP custom recovery, at frist it was working perfectly,
but after some boots, my phone keeps booting into twrp recovery, but more strange thing is that the screen is freezed and I don't see the interface of TWRP also.
What I tried ,was I have 3 files of TWRP( 3 different versions- 3.3.1-0-jasmine_sprout , 3.6.2_9-0-jasmine_sprout , 3.7.0_9-0-jasmine_sprout) , so i booted my phone to fastboot and i booted it to TWRP-3.7.0_9-0-jasmine_sprout.img which i had in my laptop, this file ran and i got the twrp interface then tried installing all other version but that still didn't help.
Currently I have installed 3.3.1-0 TWRP
Can you guys please help me out
