Rooting is simple. There is already a thread on it as mentioned above.

Connect the ds7 to usb debugging mode
Go to device manager add your own drivers and select Android Usb Device, then choose any drivers listed. I had HTC version 2.x, It still connected even if it listed as a HTC device.
Then finally run the SuperOneClickv2.2 by ShortFuse. You should have SU and busybox installed.

i did everything but i use the clockworkmod 5 XXX something and install the superuser7.zip the only icon i got is the superuser but this 3 is not in there how come?
SU binary 3.0
Bash 4.1
Busybox 1.19.2
thank you
The Superuser Binary, Bash and Busybox are not apps. They dont have icons. The simple explanation is that they are system components required for apps that use root.

I am having a problem just getting the usb drivers to load, i have windows 7 64-bit, can't get my streak 7 official honeycomb to be recognized with the drivers provided on the OS, nor have any i found online work.
I am also having same issues win 7 64bit no drivers found but this in fastboot [? Fastboot] in driver section. Is it my path that's the reasons?
Also this is with fastboot+adbzip for streak 7 posted.

Hi, so how you enter clockworkmod? I did it via fastboot but I have no idea how to enter it. And fastboot devices shows me '? fastboot' what drivers did you use? 6 hours and I'm still stuck with no root. Please help
got the ota today on my phone. is it Marshmellow?
Got it earlier this week.
No, it is not Marshmallow. Marshmallow should be version 6.
Was this question rhetorical? The details are listed in the release notes.
There's some radio related firmware in there for anyone interested. Sometimes that's helpful for people with radio issues.

It'd be nice if there was a method to upgrade modem firmware without needing the entire update.zip. That was certainly always a pro with Samsung devices. Odin was nice but Chainfire's Mobile Odin was noice.
Hello, looking for help.
My daughters Ze551kl had an ota update error resulting in a true cyclic bootloop from asus bootup screen to op system which reboots in about 1 second after flashing the op system background.
I cant unlock the bootlock. No operating system access.
I tried to restore with adb sideload and i get response on a pc and the phone that it installs ok, but the bootloop remains. I put 1531 on via adb and i did get the correct files from asus. I have done this several times. No change.
I can't flash because the bootloader is locked and i cant find an adb bootloader level unlock. Does this exist?
What do you folks recommend?
I cannot install twrp or do flashing of recovery. I can get to fastboot and the recovery options. I have cleared the cashes.
Thanks for any advice.

Hello, almost forgot, do i need to unlock the bootloader?
If the abd transfer has worked and installed the new version, but the bootloop remains, what else can be done? Is this a partition or hardware problem that showed itself during the update process?
You may have bricked it. Personally, I'd send it to Asus, if it's still in warranty, and let them fixit.
Hey guys! I have an Asus Zenfone 2 laser ZE550KL, and I'd like to root it. I tried to root it following this guide:
https://devs-lab.com/root-asus-zenfone-2-laserze550kl.html , because I didn't want to wipe all my data. Unfortunately it didn't work (at least my phone is still alive), and I honestly got angry because I unlocked my bootloader, losing my warranty, and I can't even root my phone without deleting all my data. Can you please, guys, try to do something to make rooting this phone, way more easier and faster? Thank you and have a good day.
Why dont you transfer all of your data to an sd card? And I don't know if rooting the phone without pc is a thing yet..? You could also try doing a backup of your settings and stuff on a sd card, do the root, fetch the backup from the card and execute it. It sould work with some apps from the playstore that don't need root, atleast I think.

There, you can backup files, contacts, messages, apps and all sorts of things on a sd card or maybe if you have a Google account on the Google Drive, root the phone and restore the backup

You should update your phone to MM and go to the Asus's support page there is a .apk for the bootloader, that application will unlock the bootloader, and you're good to go with rooting and furthermore modifying your phone. But first unlock the bootloader, otherwise you will brick your phone. Trust me official bootloader unloocker works fine.

And I recommend you to update your phone to the latest firmware, MM, and do that on your phone in System Update app. After that unlock the bootloader, you can find the official apk on Asus support site for z00ed. Just fire up the application and go trough all steps, your phone should reboot. Don't worry, this wont hurt your phone, if you do it the way I wrote it. I'll post the link to the unlock app here later. After that you just go with the adb root method, I'll post the link to that topic here also. Nothing to be afraid of.

Bootboder unlocker works for marshmallow
I would love to know the answer to this ^ question if anyone knows how or if there's a way to do it yet. Thanks a lot.
There's a video on Youtube that purports to point to an APK that lets you root a Vivo XL3 Plus; unfortunately in my experience the APK says it will unlock after you install some crapware, but it never unlocks.
So far neither of my go-to rooting apps (Dr.Fone and Kingroot) have been successful. I'll keep trying and if I can find a way to root my XL3+, I'll post it here.
Did you have any luck yet in rooting the XL3 Plus? Just picked one of these up for my kid. Came with 7.1.2 Feb/18 Security Patches. was looking to root it if possible. Thanks!

I'm looking to purchase one of these due to the fact it has some impressive specs, but $$$ is a little limited right now & my current device (an HTC Bolt) is a POS, even rooted, RE-rom'd & various mods, I've been slightly less than happy with it, now it has a small crack in the screen & the display looks like X-mas packaging, but can someone, anyone post a rooting method for this device.....PLEASE??? I've got to have root for my devices so I can have some control over them....
Responce?
Anyone know yet? That would be awesome...

experience this yesterday, probably this corresponds in Xiaomi server. Maybe they take down the patch after November 2018. You can download the official stock Pie version at MIUI website.
Updaing to PIE was successfull.

Then used the MI FLASH tool to apply the stock rom. First atemp failed with "write error" after 55 seconds, but I tried a second time and this time the process completed.

I will do it if there will be no other option. Didn't try yet, because my intention was to check of OTA updates will be working for the further updates.
If I will update in this way I will not get any info about next updates if OTA will not be working.

@Yaroray do you know how to check this?
Check that the partition structure is A/B dual type, use fastboot commands.

Ok, I updated using this file: https://bigota.d.miui.com/V10.0.13....0.PDIMIXM_20190807.0000.00_9.0_9083804c9e.tgz
And this tool: download.appmifile.com/images/2019/07/01/09cdc3a7-5a11-42aa-81f4-be27fe12ce80.msi
Unlocked the bootloader with "fastboot flashing unlock_critical"
After the update (I have no error using the process) I received an OTA security update from setember 5, 2019 that installed without problem too.
