Difference between A3003 A3010 - OnePlus 3T Questions & Answers

Hey, i am a new user of oneplus 3t...And want to the differences between A300 version?

The only difference between the different models is the radio bands that it can receive. Aside from limitations in the radio, every other aspect of the hardware is identical. I'm not sure where the A3010 comes from, but I know that If you buy a Chinese model, the only difference other than the radio is that it comes preloaded with Hydrogen OS rather then Oxygen OS, which is easily user replaceable. All ROMs made for the OnePlus 3T will work on every model.
When buying, just make sure that the model you've selected is compatible with your mobile network.

Yes it is a Chinese model and i m using this model.
Is the root method same for this model?

Yes, almost every tool/method/ROM/guide made for the OP3T is applicable to your device. If something is made for a specific model (perhaps because it is radio-related), I'm sure the author will explicitly state so.

Which Model to buy - 3003 or 3010?

I'm from Bangladesh. I want to buy Oneplus 3T. Here only 3010 is available which is installed with Oxygen OS. As per wiki, 3003 is for Asia region and 3010 for China. China model basically installed with Hydrogen OS where as others are Oxygen. I also knew that 3010 can also be installed with Oxygen OS.
My question is since 3010 is not available in my country, should I buy 3010? If 3010 is installed with Oxygen will it be any issue (as 3010 is for China and for Hydrogen OS )?
Imo if the 3003 is for Asia region, you should get that one. Have you looked at each models frequency capabilities vs your countries mobile providers frequencies?
Edit: which model is currently offered in your country? That's the one I would get.
Check first with WillMyPhoneWork website.
frequency band is ok. Need to know where there will be any performance impact if Oxygen is installed in 3010 model.

There shouldn't be. Aside from their radio, every other component between the models are identical. An A3010 flashed with OOS will perform the same as an any of the other models that came preloaded with OOS.
there is only 1 frequency difference , you won't feel the difference, buy whatever you want

Determining the region/variant from the IMEI number

Is there any way to tell from the IMEI number whether the 3T is the US/EU/chinese variant? I'm returning a 3T that i bought off of ebay that turned out to be the chinese variant, which was why i was only getting EDGE speed on tmobile, no matter what I did.

It's possible on Samsung phones like it's described here
http://www.samsungsfour.com/tutoria...rtphone-country-of-origin-from-imei-code.html
Unfortunately the part where Samsung encoded this regional code is a part determined by the manufacturer, as described here: http://www.samsungsfour.com/tutoria...rtphone-country-of-origin-from-imei-code.html if oneplus does encode it in the imei I cannot tell for sure, however you can tell that all A3010 variants of the 3T are for the Chinese market and all A3003 variants are the global version (for the rest of the world), so actually you don't have to bother with decrypting the IMEI, just check the model number in settings, about phone...
Sent from my OnePlus3T using XDA Labs

I am gonna buy OP3T, need assistance quick!

so i am using galaxy note 5 currently, and now i decided to buy OP3T as it has a lot of customization + NetHunter.
i am deciding to buy 128GB version of OP3T. and want to ask some questions if anyone can answer them.
1. how good is this phone's camera comparing to Samsung Note 5 ? (specially in dark) on gsmarena it looks better than note 5, but how is it in real life if anyone has compared the two?
2. any special model of 3T to avoid or to look for? for the best of xda support?
3. any special bootloader/firmware to avoid ? like sometimes its better to buy the oldest bootloader for highest support on xda. and sometimes it doesn't matter if device's dev are very active in supporting latest firmwares?
4. as i always stayed on samsung phones, it gives a good code *#0*# to test all functions of phone. is there anything i can use to test OP3T when buying?
and others that you can think of suggesting me? so i don't regret after buying something i shouldn't have?
thanks in advance :fingers-crossed:
1) Camera is decent esp with the google camera port with HDR+
2) all models are the same. Just make sure you get the one for your region (proper bands)
3) all software versions give you the ability to unlock the bootloader and flash a custom recovery
4) not sure
4) *#808#

Not all models are the same.
For European users and better coverage of bands, model 3003 is recommended.

They're physically the same, only difference is in the band locking configuration files in the encrypted partition.
But yes, you should of course choose the one that comes with the most suited bands for your region (A3000 for US, A3003 for EU/international and A3010 for Asia).

So, you are claiming that a 3010 can be flashed to 3003 and vice versa?
Any links that back up this claim?

If it weren't for the fact that the band locking is in an encrypted partition which is factory programed and not affected by any ROM flashing, we could if it wasn't for the encryption.
The reason why certain bands can't be active on phones in certain regions had to do with those bands being used by for example the army/govermental agencies, so they're not allowed to make a phone be able to use all bands all over the world.

1) Haven't owned one, but claim that they are pretty even
2) All are the same
3) None are to avoid I'd say. You can always change the firmware the way you want it anyway
4) Just have a second with that and feel yourself how beastly the device is
thank you so much for all of your replies.
so i am from Pakistan, my OMC/CSC is PAK,
on gsmarena there are only two models, Global and USA, i suppose i should buy Global?

Hi, I'm from Pakistan as well and I'm using Oneplus3T Asia variant (A3010) which is working perfectly for me. Global/Eu variant might be compatible with only a few networks and bands over here so I recommend you buy A3010 version.

I will only ever exchange my 3T for a newer 3T
You can find all the bands supported by all the networks in Pakistan over at Wikipedia. In your case, ufone and zong should work fine on the A3010/China variant just like me.
There are in fact 3 variants of the OP3T based on different regions. All three have the same hardware apart from the frequency bands obviously.
A3000 (US model)
A3003 (EU/Asia)
A3010 (China)
The global version listed on GSM is the A3003. Both A3003 and A3010 will work fine on your networks. Btw where are you buying from?
As for Kali Nethunter, I have never personally used it. However, it does not matter which variant of the phone you have, it will work on all of them in the same way just as almost all mods and custom roms work universally on all versions.
ok so i bought OP3T A3003 128GB. all bands i wanted are working on it. and im very happy.
its on Android 7.1.1 already.
now i want to root it and install twrp.
any recommendations?
after used samsung odin mode. i dont know what mode op3t has if anything goes wrong (soft brick) to restore official firmware?
also because i don't currently have internet so i have to go to a friend to download stuff. please recommend all the tools i require to unbrick my device if something goes wrong and i dont have internet.
thanks

why i keep seeing that screen on when i start phone. it says your device has been unlocked ans can't be trusted.
it started after i unlocked bootloader.
how can i get rid of that? it says if u want to not see this screen then lock bootloader. so if i lock bootloader will my root and recovery remain?

Question Need OP 10Pro model differences

Hi, I can't seem to find anything that compares different models within OnePlus 10 pro range.
I want to buy on and local guy has a NE2210 available but I want to see what are differences if anyone has a comparison list of all NExxx.
Thanks
hi, no difference. only regional software differences. legal obligations. There are Chinese or global model ranges, each with only a 5g difference, but they both work.

Question 1st Oneplus phone user questions

Hi I just bought a 512 10 pro dual sim unit, I am 100% new oneplus owner.
I am wainting on the parcel, the unit suposed to be a CN unit with global rom on in. I do not know if it will get OTA updates or not.
If not I understand I may need to manual update them, but going to oneplus support site for firmwares and stuff there is nothing for the 10 pro.
Can anyone give me some advice on this please.
Also I understand that the T Mobile is IP67 but I undestand that the "others" are same but because the payment for the certification is not stated but the units are the same. I will never go blind to "check" if that is true but any support on that will be very much appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Check out my root thread if you want to root your device... also has info on unlocking the bootloader.
I would recommend using oxygen updater, it's an app from the play store that provides up to date firmwares, I'd say to turn on full updates always. Never install partial updates (incremental) if full firmwares are available.
Also what is your variant? I saw 512 but that's not a model number. It'll be 2213 or 2210 or something

Then why are you commenting on this thread? (Rhetorical) I wouldn't take your word for it only theirs.. If you're not going to help them then please refrain from posting in this thread, you're not helping buddy.
I have this exact same model, bough in French shop and using it in Europe. It was I think a grey import, model sticker is 2210 and it came with Chinese only doc, but ROM (found in about) is 2215. Came with oxygen os 12 (first boot was tricky because battery was empty, charge was slow and it finally booted in the bootloader, so I was a little worried... But after a full data wipe I rebooted in oxygenos12, got normal setup with all European languages and charge at 80w. Got a normal Ota to oxygenos13 since (all the way to c26, I think it went throug two or 3 intermediate versions), no problem in the end, I didn't even had to install oxygenupdater. Phone is not rooted and look like stock, as far as I can tell. Only issue I see is that it's wifi is a little bit temperamental, I need to stop/start it when I see connection troubles... Not sure it's the phone or my router, cause it happen only at home, not in the office...maybe it's because I have both 2.4 and 5ghz on the sale ssid at home...
AFAIK this is a special version (nickname fat panda/fat dabai) which is why it's Chinese only, but being the only 512GB version I guess there is a quite a lot of imports. So grey market, but there are good chance the internationalisation is done quite well.
I am happy with my 2210->2215 ROM, at least for now, but I did not attempt any rooting or ROM customisation yet. Not sure I will, as custom scene is very quiet to say the least, regardless if your phone is Grey market or completely stock with unambiguous region lock...
Not really blaming oneplus, it's now the norm for Android with very few exceptions (pixels, nothing... And old models).
Just sad oneplus used to be one of these few exceptions...

2215 is NA/Global rom iirc, not North America only. I think most Grey import 512GB models will have this rom. Mine have at least, they did not install 2213 even if it was imported in France...
So far is working fine, since this is my first oneplus I do not have any other to compare.
The only "issue" is that when connecting to car unit for android auto use, the usb option list apear 2 tines so quick that I can not select the android auto option and it is only in charge mode, this was the thing that made me go for the 10 instead the 11, but now I am looking for a possible solution
