THE QUICK GUIDE TO CREATING YOUR OWN BOOT ANIMATIONS"because I can feed you fish and you're good for the night or teach you to fish and you'll be good forever!!"
I have enjoyed boot animations since I started messing around with phones. I finally felt comfortable enough to start making my own and this is how i did it:
1 - First is you need an animation such as a video clip or gif whatever. I personally like them to be less than 30 seconds with the main focal part about 10 secs. By that time the phone has started up.
2 - then you need to extract the frames/convert using infanview or similar app, to image format, jpg is smaller, png is better quality and some just plain look better this way. Using Irfanview in the "options" menu click "extract all frames" then you can fine tune using "file" menu "batch conversion/rename" option
3 - download Boot Animation Factory and thank the dev for such a great tool for previewing and creating Boot Animations. From there the app will take you to creating the bootanimation.zip file needed for your phone.
4 - Then it's just a matter of getting it to where it needs to be. You can check my thread here which gives all the the different locations for various phones store the file for manual installs. There is also the "flashable zips" and "the Aroma Installer" for multiple options!
5 - last thing is to give thanks and credit where it's due and share your wonderful new creations with all of us here on XDA!!! Thank you
that is a very quick run down of how I am making Boot Animations today
This is set of boot animations I have either created or collected from all creative minds here at XDA.
Direct downloads here for manual install of bootanimation.zip file
I have to thank all of the XDA community for these animation and support over the years!!! Please enjoy

F.A.Q.
Q: Does this program work on Windows XP?
A: Yes, it works, but you will need the Service Pack 3 update and Microsoft .NET Framework 4. Some other bugs may occur on Windows XP that won't be seen on later Windows versions (Vista; 7; 8)
Q: Why the form flickers when it's being resized?
A: On slower computers, high-resolution background images can cause flickering. Set the background to some of the built-in gradients, or your own gradient, or a solid color.
Q: Boot Animation Factory doesn't even start. Help!
A: Please make sure your operating system is supported, and you have Microsoft .NET Framework 4 is installed on your computer.
Q: I get an error. Help please!
A: Please explain the error you get, or send an error report. I will fix any error if it's code-related as soon as possible.

If it hangs just cancel the process (with the cross action button) and try again. It seems to hang at first try on some computers.

Start of boot animation delayed, if the bootaudio.mp3 is present

Hi,
I am trying to make some good boot animation. The animation itself is good, and smooth alerady, but i would like to have a boot sound along with that animation. But i ran to the issues that i can not overcome.
Now. On stock rom (I am using miui 10 from miuios.cz) I measured, that from phone turning on vibration "signal" to start of the boot animation, (that is the time when is on screen displayed mi logo static picture - not animation) it is about 13 seconds. Then bootanimation starts, and system boots up at about 37 seconds from the very beggining of the boot. That was with no sound.
But as soon as i add bootaudio.mp3 to /system/media folder, with correct permissions, bootanimation start is delayed to more than 30 seconds on that mi logo static screen! the boot time then prolongs to something over one minute, wich is pretty long. Anyways, when the bootanimation finally starts, sound plays, but then system obviously artifically speeds the animation up, because system is alerady booted (guess it booted up before bootanimation start) and i made animation to finish just few seconds before the system fully boots up, but because of delayed time of animation start, animation does not fit into the boot time.
So I want to know WHY it is happening and what can I DO about it?
Hope for quick and helpfull response. In case of need, I can send any king of *.log if I will know how to make it, what file it is and in what directory i would find it.

INFO about the phone:
Xiaomi redmi 4x (santoni)
MIUI 10 (miuios.cz)
root (Magisk)
custom recovery (TWRP)
Thanks!

I dont know too much about this stuff but xiaomi.eu has an option to select boot sound (in theme app). And also i think problem can be related with sounds file type. You can try to convert mp3 to ogg (or other sound file)

Hi.
Thank you for your suggestions, I tried few types of audio containers as you suggested for example: *.ogg, *.flac, *.wav and some others. The results was not good. With any type except *.mp3 of audio container, the phone behaved as if there was no boot audio at all. So, your suggestion unfortunately does not work. As for boot sound setting in themes app, I have no such option in my themes app. May be because I do not have rom from xiaomi.eu, rather miui.cz. Nevermind, you gave good suggestion anyways.
Thank you.
Anyone else?
