I'm having problems when i try to unlock SIM card. when type 2945#*880# i get the error "no network or incorrect MMI code" (or something like that). i tried typing many other similar codes but none of them works. currently i'm using aosp 5.1.1. custom rom, and i tried also on cyanogenmod rom, but i get the same error.
i have read somewhere on this forum that cm doesn't have hidden menu, but i cant find original preinstalled ice cream sandwich rom anywhere.
can anyone help me to unlock sim card?
my service provider gave me the code for unlocking, but i cant access the option to put it and do the unlocking.
is it maybe possible doing it with adb?
You really need to go back to the last official ROM to apply the SIM unlock pins from your carrier. If there is really no way around it to go back to official ROM, then you can try your luck with the last Euro-open LG v20c JB ROM. I can see the UnlockMenu.apk is still there, but I am not sure if it will still work on non-carrier ROM.

Can anyone help i have upgraded my phone after much trouble trying to unlock it via market apps & superoneclick neither worked and the phone ended up going into some dead mode and wouldnt fully load up.
So in still trying to end up with a network unlocked phone i have managed to upgrade my phone to GINGERBREAD.XXJVQ 2.3.4 which was successful and work perfectly over my broadband wireless network but when i try to make calls it tell me
"MOBILE NETWORK NOT AVAILABLE"
the mobile was previously on three uk network but is now debranded obviously with gingerbread
i tried a hard reset via *2767*3855* but still no change.
any help greatly appreciated many thanks in advance
Ged
Just look like your phone have been locked on three network.and your unlock is failed.
Did you try found any phone shop on market to unlock your phone?
probably just five pound for each one on Chinatown.
I was stay in UK for 3 year, and as I know, the Chinatown guys have special device for unlock phone ,one simply for all, whatever you upgrade rom,you will be never locked again.
I'm not sure about that really cause it also does this with my correct network sim card still installed......
You've checked your apn settings? Sounds top suspect to me.
If you've still got problems, flash ezbase gingerbread. Search dev section, full, simple instructions included.
I tried that it tells me i should
"insert a sim card to access network services"
Could you point me in the right direction so i know im using the right programs and files
Please check your IMEI number by dialing *#06# on the keypad. If it displays the correct imei number as displayed on the Phone box/ under the battery, then you are saved. If not you have lost your efs folder which contains the files which hold the imei data.
Did u get the phone with Gingerbread as stock rom? Try downgrading to an Eclair (2.1) ROM with Odin.
hello again peoples,
I'm very grateful for all your assistance but i just wasn't paying attention when i was putting my SIM card into my phone and put it in the wrong way round...!
i mean what happened to SIM card slots where sim cards only fit in one way...!
again thanks alot for all your assistance also i've ended up upgrading to Insanity 2.3.5
Thank s
I know there are several post in XDA about this but as far as I have tried nothing has worked for me, here is the info:
I have a i9000 with a mexican carrier (telcel) rooted running Cyanogen 7.1 final.
I will travel to the US and want to use my device with an AT&T SIM card, so I need to unlock the device, I have tried 3 different apps in the market to unlock but those are not working, I Also tried this method here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=762403
but same result, I cannot even install the update.zip
I know other people who have done this without a problem with this same device of my carrier, the only difference I can Think of is that they were using a samsung rom instead of Cyanogen. Could this be related?
I know there are a a couple of options to pay to get the code, I just want to save those 20 bucks for something else.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance!
Hello I am new to android and the lg optmius 2x (p990) is my first ever android phone. And I am having some trubles with it.
I am looking to unlock it am I able to do this by "rooting" the phone to make it sim -free? it is curently LOCKED to fido (canada).
or what is the most simple way to unlock the phone? i have bought an unlock code but i get smome sort of neckwork error when i enter it making the phone still locked.
Thank you for the help and i am sorry if this is were it would not be.
Strange that give you an error, I did it with a friend's phone and it worked perfectly! Once we bought the code and put it all went smoothly!
Yes
Yes i bought the code punched it in the phone quickley read out a message and rebooted i poped in a new sim card nothing happend tryed another one still nothing no clue why..
the phone has never had a fido sim in it could this cause a problem? or is there a way to check if the phone is unlocked by not using a new sim card?
So are you saying you can access all features of your p990 but not the cellular network? i.e. you can access wifi and run apps but cannot make or receive phone calls?
If so, it sounds to me that you might have an issue with baseband/RIL. Try installing GETRIL from Google Play and see if you have a matching RIL for your baseband. If your phone is rooted, then you can use the app to update your RIL.
Nope that did not a thing it said it was all good and i even still clicked update and install then rebooted and nothing.. i may just have to call LG on this one
I'm having a really hard time trying to sim unlock my phone.
I already have the code for it, but I can't find the prompt to enter it.
Here is a list of everything I've tried:
On original stock firmware. Branded Movistar (Chile) Gingerbread 2.3.4
First, a check. *#7465625# Network lock ON. All other locks OFF
Inserting another provider's SIM card and turning on the phone. Nothing.
Without a SIM card and turning on the phone. Nothing.
#7465625*638*CODE# Nothing happens when I finish typing it.
*#197328640# Debug -> Phone control -> Network lock. Nothing happens, and if a select it a second time it says menu don't exits code 1866 (can't remember the exact message atm)
So I decided to flash other roms to make it work.
Stock Unbranded (Panamá) Gingerbread 2.3.6. All of the above mentioned. Same results.
Stock Branded Movistar (Chile) Gingerbread 2.3.6. All of the above. Same results.
Now I'm out of ideas and I hope anyone can help me. I'll really appreciate it.
:good:
Hi All,
I've trawled through this forum for quite a while and haven't yet found any answers or similar cases to the issue I'm currently having. Here's a summary of where I am at the moment with my i9305 LTE:
- Got a i9305 locked to EE.
- When EE quoted £20+ and 10-20 days for unlock I started looking at altenatives.
- For one of the alternatives, I flashed to get root and I believe I lost my IMEI. I didn't have an efs backup and was unable to restore via stock flashing.
- Luckily, I had a screenshot of my settings so I re-wrote my IMEI using QPST.
- Decided to go for the legit unlock this time so called EE and paid for the unlock code.
- Pre-root, when I put in my unsupported SIM I would get a prompt for an unlock code, but that doesn't have anymore. While waiting for the EE code, I found that when I inserted the unsupported SIM, I would sometimes be able to connect in very specific locations (e.g. certain places outside the house). Wi-Fi works perfectly.
- When the unlock code came, I attempted to enter it by getting to the prompt using "#7465625*638*#". Although, when I enter the code here, it does not accept it (I have an unlock and an unfreeze code, neither work).
- I have trialed the SIM in various other phones and have had no problems with signal at all, the problems arise when I place the SIM in the i9305.
- I have tried changing the modem, so far no luck...
No idea how to go about fixing this... At the moment I can't use it as a phone.
Here is some more info:
Samsung GT-I9305
Nameless Rom 5.0.2
Baseband: I9305XXBLL3
Android Version: 5.0.2
- Should I keep trying different Modems?
- I've tried to verify whether phone is locked or unlocked, but *#7465625# doesn't work, do you know any other ways that I can diagnose sim lock status?
- Will different ROMs or kernels help?
Thanks for any help!
-- UPDATE --
Have flashed back to stock 4.1.1.
I attempted to sim unlock via the *#197328640# approach, but wasn't able to get it to work...
My current next hope is to try and restore my i9305 to the point where it asks for a code to unlock upon entering a new SIM again... Would really appreciate any help, Thanks!
I've still not been able to fix, but will update when I do in case it helps anyone else :good:
