TeamWIN has now made their Kernel Manager app work with the XOOM. What it allows you to do, is flash kernels inside android. No more booting into fastboot, or even running update.zips.

Just downloaded and just what we need, it is awesome, will get the paid version as promised in the irc LOL

it didn't corrupt your kernel. Just manually push the BCM4329.ko file through adb.
or just to be safe just push everything again manually. That way you know everything was done right.

Download and run the one click root file, it will repatch with the kernel that comes in it or you can place the files from the latest kernel release into it. I think thats the best option for you if you are not comfortable using adb.
Get the one click root here.

It could be an issue with the download. Find the file with astro or root explorer and delete it then redownload, or download to your computer and place it on the xoom and have the app install from the sd card instead of downloading it.
If it still doesnt work for you, just reflash the one click root and give it a day or two for the devs to update the app or something.
Hope everything works out for you

Well.... Uhhh.... Thats not something I tried myself. But I think it would be pretty easy... When you extract the root my xoom folder to your computer, open it up and find the kernel files... then replace them with the updated files from the 1.3.2 zip file. Just unzip the 1.3.2 folder and copy and paste.
Hope this helps
ive opend the rootmyxoom folder and i dont know where to put the contents from the zip

I dont have a current version of the one click root, but I would think to look inside either the wifi root folder or the tiamat folder (inside the rootmyxoom folder). Whichever one has the same files from the 1.3.2 folder, copy and paste them over to that folder inside the rootmyxoom folder and you should be golden.
ive looked thru them all , i dont see any files in any of those folders that look like the ones that come in the zip
open up the tiamit files in the root my xoom folder and replace with whatever kernel you want to use. I did this three times with tiamit 1.3.0, and .1 and .2. You can try to just replace the entire file or go in and replace the indiviual files from within the tiamit kernel folder. Be careful though if you replace the wrong files or mix them up could be bad results, usually just no wifi or bootloops.
Oh by the way i always did all this on a windows based computer that way the files look the same or similar

Wow, Kernel manager just solved my problem of flashing the new tiamat 1.4.0 kernel.
Was having issues in CWM, instead of pulling my hair out in testing it out via trial by error. Had a (status 0) error while flashing kernel in CWM.
It was resolved by using Kernel Manager!!!
Can't access link to download apk? Anyone have this problem?
Edit: got it downloaded

I have a Marquee and have successfully rooted using http://androidnerds.net/2011/10/08/lg-esteem-oneclickroot-now-ready/. Apparently the LG Esteem is close enough for this to work. After install, you will need to manually update superuser via the market.
Thanks to Hoovhartid over at androidcentral forums for suggesting this.

ROM manager doesn't give an option for my phone for CWM and you can't back up your ROM without it.
Sorry but not risking bricking this thing if I make the wrong choice.

Okay guys, I thought what the hell, I'll try the LGE Black option in ROM manager and see what happens.

Use the volume keys to move and the search button to select.
I have backed up the ROM from the Marquee and loaded on Mediafire.
The back up wasn't good, so i pulled the link. Sorry!
Hope this helps.
Sorry folks, I don't think the backup is any good. I tried another and it looks the same. It is too small and doesn't have musch data.
Can someone point me to, or step me through, how to pull all the files with adb. I'll be glad to pull and post.

am kinda noob too..so hope this will help!xD
first of all,you need a adb.exe
you can get it from super-one-click,or android sdk, google it
for example,we pull files at d:\system
copy adb files in d:\system
and then,open cmd(win+R,enter cmd)
connect your phone before we start.
type
Code:
d:
adb pull /system .\system
ok then it will pull all the system files into d:\system
does it back up to a directory on the SD card? if it does, you need all the files in the directory. there should be a few .img files along with the nandroid.md5 file. put them all in a zip and upload it.
look in sdcard: \clockworkmod\backup\
the directory the files are in should be named with a date+time stamp
Any chance?

I've already tried the CWM backup and it is no good, only about 18 meg in size and missing almost everything important.

1. Download Android SDK http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html
2. Install it on C: (not on Program Files for Easy Access)
3. Connect your phone through USB with debugging on
4. Open Command propt from your PC. (windows button + r / type "cmd" without quotes)
5. On command prompt type "cd c:\Android\ASDK\platform-tools" (without quotes then press Enter)
6. Then type "adb pull /system" (without quotes then press Enter)
7. wait till it's finished pulling the files
Now go to C:Android\ASDK\platform-tools. Copy all files now, zip it. Upload, they'll just exclude/disect the adb ones.
this is interesting. I'm going to try to use this method for rooting our P970.
Advices are welcome
Okay, I used ADB and was able to pull the system, boot.img and recovery.img.
Not sure if any of these are correct. The system file is HUGE (434mb zipped) but looks like every thing is there. Both boot and recovery are 5.00mb each.
If this looks right and is what you are after I will upload it to mediafire.

Where how I convert .kdz to .bin file?
I know russian very well.So i shortly translate all procedure done here.
They patched original 20A bin file , changing system recovery.img with clocworkmod recovery.img touch version.
Download 20A.bin extract it,and put somewhere in your computer.
and below there is a CWM flashable superuser.zip.
Download it and put to your Sd kart.Do not extract.
Then simply flash that patched 20A bin file with smart flash procedure posted here from radkor
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1448803
After finished flashing with smartflash tool go to cwm recovery and install superuser.zip
and you get rooted original 20A ginger.
Nice option for flashing and rooting
but we do not have 20N bin file yet.
we have only indian version 20B bin file, redpik posted it above

Unless it's a ROM or kernel you've created yourself, this doesn't belong in Development.
Doesn't SmartFlash auto erases all user data (factory reset at first boot)?
Okey... Maybe, tomorrow I will be a version (.bin) V20N

Ok. Let me try to understand this. They replace "system recovery.img" which is reside in the original rom bin file with "cwm recovery.img" (where to get this file?) and then flash it using smartflash tool. So after reset by smartflah, cwm is already in the phone installed. Then all is easy, proceed to install superuser.zip, etc..etc.zip.
How is it possible to obtain root by inserting cwm in the rom while cwm itself require root to run? Also, what's the "system recovery.img" that got replaced. Is it important?
Please investigate more. Need more info on how "patching" is done too. I don't understand russian.

I guess you need to investigate more how android works. Flashing recovery image with the whole system in a bin file makes cmw part of the "original" firmware so,like recovery that only can erase all this one can read/write in the system files. Sounds normal. I read on Samsung forums that they get root for latest versions by flashing a patched odin file and then a su zip. I will try it

Then we can say that this is universal method as long as cwm can be patch into the rom. Finding exploit is not necessary anymore. So, what's the function of the file replaced in the rom. Is it the original lg recovery method which is not available anymore if this we use this method?
Thanks for the explanation, I wonder why it hasn't be use before, maybe because lack of rom file in bin format?

to get the files out of a kdz: grab them while someone is using the KDZ program to update their phone. The files are extracted and put into "C:\ProgramData\LGMOBILEAX\Phone" but as soon as the program detects no phone the entire directory is blown away. Too fast to grab the files. So either you update for real (in which case you have the time to grab the files) or you create a symbolic link between the C:\ProgramData\LGMOBILEAX\Phone folder and another folder you create say name it C:\test. What happens is that files get extracted and then \phone folder deleted when no phone is detected but the files remain on the \test folder. So you get your files which are a "model.dll" file (in p970 case i guess something like lgp970.dll) and a .wdb file which is the firmware. How to proceed though to tinker further with the .wdb file so as to get bin file and baseband still elludes me

Hello ladies and gents. As you may have been able to tell from the title, I made a huge mistake when playing around with my phone's build.prop file. I had tapped on the ro.build.description file and it pulled up the keyboard. I accidentally input an "r", so I deleted it, then saved and left the prop file, thinking everything was fine and proper. Unfortunately, that was not so. Upon my next reboot, I discovered several problems. The Playstore and gallery crash upon every open, and even worse, my internal memory isn't being recognized. I know the problems must be originating from the build description prop file, since that was the only prop file change that had happened since my last reboot. If anyone could give any tips on how to fix this or mount the external sd as internal, that would be wonderful. I need to be able to screnshot, install apps, and perform other functions that require internal storage. Please help me out ASAP.

extract the build.prop file from your rom.zip
make a flashable zip & flash it. will work normal again
(ifm u dont know how to make flashable zip, just get any flashable mod,
extract all files, delete all files , only leave the meta-inf folder with its data inside untouched & a folder called "system",
put build.prop into system folder, now mark both folders --> right click --> send to zip, put on sd & flash)
good luck!

If by rom you mean like ClockworkMod or something, I'm just on my stock rom. If you mean something else, I don't know. And which slot in Odin would put this in? I only have experience with .tar and .md5.

sorry my llate reply, lets go
he bro u know whats the rom ) you say you are on stock rom, thats all i need.
clockwork mod is no rom, its a recovery.
sorry was a small hazzle for me as you use the AT&T version of the phone, now to the solution:
we need to just replace the damaged build prop with original one.
1. download the system image here: http://www.mrcrab.net/viewstockrom/19845-sm-g730a.html (or anywhere if u find, maybe at SAMMOBILE)
2. (try) to extract the parts of it, we need the system image. if u dont know how just google it, maybe some tools needed for diffrent kind of datas. once all extracted the build.prop is inside system (-folder). copy it to SD & replace via any ROOT explorer, set the right permissions, like in this pic LINK, reboot done.
if you CANT extract that image, make you ready for completly new install of your ROM.

sorry my llate reply, lets go
he bro u know whats the rom ) you say you are on stock rom, thats all i need.
clockwork mod is no rom, its a recovery.
sorry was a small hazzle for me as you use the AT&T version of the phone, now to the solution:
we need to just replace the damaged build prop with original one.
1. download the system image here: http://www.mrcrab.net/viewstockrom/19845-sm-g730a.html (or anywhere if u find, maybe at SAMMOBILE)

I can do that, but I have a problem. I can't download the file from the link you provided. Could you find me a different place to download the image from, or maybe even give me a direct download link? Thanks.

i use slimkat 4.4.4 by android-andi on SGS3 Mini (i8190n).
1. using root explorer, changing perm on the first / (the root dir, i believe).
2. this one is new problem, nothing to do with our recent dialogs, hope can get some idea on this one.
yesterday, i install android tweaker app, and set the auto system/device tweak( can't remember exact) and reboot my device
to apply the setting. and got stuck on boot animation (blinking 'SAMSUNG' anim, after the 'GT I8190N' image on ori ROM). it
didn't loop (no bootloop), just stuck on blinking animation, boot image i guest?
Any idea just throw in please, really want to try and confirm on any solution we got in mind.
thanks in advance everyone.
Hi I tried to install a new Rom Ive had experience before in doing this so thought it would be like the countless other times ive done on Samsung.
Ive unlocked
Ive installed a recovery (did have TWRP but now using PitchBlack)
It says I dont have any download or storage in recovery
stuck in fastboot
When using MiFlash (which Ive no experience of)error message, see attached image.
Any help in next steps be much appreciated.
In the folder where rom is, create an empty folder and rename it to log.
Then try reflashing. It should work
Cheers

trying to install stock rom using miflash, it says cannot find file flash_all_lock.bat anyone help?
Hi, it happened yesterday, I did the following:
1- download my flash last
2-decompress my flash and create empty folder with the name of log inside what was decompressed
3-download compatible firmware in .tgz format not in .zip
4- unzip .tgz file on disk C, rename the folder to raphaeli (I don't know if necessary, I don't think so I did).
5- open miflash, install drivers.
6-find the raphaeli folder and click on refresh.
7- uncheck the box below where it says block if this is not the case.
I hope you understand me, sorry for the English use a translator

You don't unzip the .tgz file. You flash the .tgz file using MiFlash. Before you flash the file make sure the "clean all and lock" on the bottom right corner IS NOT SELECTED. If you flash it with it selected it will lock your bootloader and you will most likely brick your phone.
I just got the .tgz file but now getting this error, anyone able to help? please im begging at this stage!!!

EDITED.
My bad. Failed to notice you're not showing file extensions, so didn't realise the .bat files are actually there. Ignore original post.
After seeing the error have you tried booting into the phone?
Many times users say they get an error at the end of flashing with the Mi Flash Tool, but after, they can boot into MIUI and everything is fine. Not seen this error myself, so don't know if it's the same as your seeing.
