Why would Samsung update the OS on a phone over two years old, potentially stopping people from upgrading to an newer device?
Don't get me wrong I think the Note4 is still a freaking amazing phone. I just don't want to create some sort of false hope when to me I don't see any real benefit Samsung has in updating this wonderful phone.

GFX bench has errors like that, tap on the device description and it takes to the us note 4 page. also look at the s7 tests for example they have the same thing

I just contacted them and was told to stay tuned for news, and marshamallow was latest but no official confirmation saying its last or nougat

Trust me, they did the same thing and Lollipop never came to the Note 2... After months and months of waiting for their lies they finally cancelled it... That's Samsung for you.. Don't create false hope when dealing with them..

If you visit the GFXBench result page you could see that the test firmware implements newer Graphics driver (OpenGL ES 3.2 vs OpenGL ES 3.1 on MM firmware) so there is hope

Probably correct.
The note 4 reminds me of note 1 in terms of updates. Few and far between. We had to rely of developers to do the work of Samsung.

Hi, Vodafone Italy announced that the update to Lollipop has been postponed to the end of March , officially announced " solution to the problem by introducing silent ring settings (a problem that has created many hardships on Open Market ) " .
Samsung Norway announced that it had stopped the updates to lollipop s4 - s5 for crash heading and battery drain . At this point , I think , that the official update will arrive in April , where as Samsung Germany has withdrawn this update from their servers . Greetings to all .

I hate Samsung's update policy. Note 4 is very powerful device and ı think note 4 will be able to work with Android N. Other side, Xperia z2 got marshmallow beta. We're still waiting for this s***. I got angry again.

Any news on LG G6 Oreo, my dad's ($100 less) U11 Life just got it and I'm wondering if we will every get Oreo.
I saw a message this morning that the 8.0 Beta was just released in China. Expected to be released in South Korea in 2-3 weeks. Pure speculation, but we're probably looking at the end of January or the first of February for a release of 8.0
I fear we may never get Oreo. The H872 has been a forgotten flagship for months.

And we will still be waiting a while because the notes say that we get security up thru June 1st which hasn't happened yet. So implementing that will take probably a week at least. Soak testing will take probably 2 weeks, so we will probably see it late June/early July.
It sucks that they aren't doing anything about our awful camera(s).
Android OEMs get the contents of the security updates weeks in advance, so it's understandable that they'd release the June security update a few days early. It happens all the time with manufacturers that actually release updates often.

The camera on the G5+ was better than the dual setup on the G5s+ that's what I think the guy above is referring to.

When I bought the
g5s+ I was disappointed with their cameras quality. But after March update of Camera app it's much better. Of course in low light environment I also see so much noise but this is phone camera, not SLR.

But They aren't back. They changed the info on that page to show the June security patch instead of the oreo release. At this point, I've given up. In December, when I get my new phone, I'll be going to the nokia 6.1, which is an Android One device.
I have installed both Samsung+ and Samsung Mebers but neither gave me the option to join a beta program. I have n960F/DS.
Anyone?

I chatted with Samsung US and was told Pie will be available which I havent seen anybody got it yet. Some said Note 9 wont get it and this is misinformation.
I thought right now Samsung has only offered the beta in the US for Galaxy S9/S9+. Note 9 beta should be coming soon.

From most of the sources and also if I count the previous years beta - there will be no beta for the note 9. It will stay as it's now - s9/s9+ and January the rollout will begin. This year samsung target to start the rollout in tight windows for all the galaxy phones that will get it (s8/s8+/note8 and the s9/s9+/note 9 series atleast).

Important to note that only the T Mobile and Sprint variants will be able to opt into the beta. ATT and Verizon are not included.

Skimming around web, and i dont copy and paste but have heard the 20th but to who i am not sure. Its just talk and until we confirmation from a good source, sam or samsung or someone that catches a leak, we will be in lingo on hold. Dry your palms. I am excited too. Did beta on s7 edge and it had its issue but then it had alot of promises and teases till final update....long wait. Apparently it will be either a notification within the Samsung+ app or a banner card. But neither are there because the Note beta is not open yet
