I'm with a Galaxy S3 i9305T that i been trying to get it to give me signal but no success. I tried a bunch of things, back to stock 4.1.2, 4.3(loop) and 4.4.4(not sure if official), a bunch of modem files and nothing.
I can see my imei just fine and my phone sn is normal but i dont know about the efs folder. And all i get is Not registered on network and Emergency Calls Only. I tried Busybox from a thread i found here but still the same.
Sorry for the bad english.
Any ideas what can I do now?

I downloaded so many stuff for this already around 15gb of stuff and nothing worked.
What's the easiest way to repair my efs folder? It has stuff on it, I just don't know if it's the problem.
I own a Leagoo M8 phone and it did the same thing to me. So what I did I want to my telco and they told was something to do with the cell phone towers in my area won't support certain band from 3G and I need an antenna extender

But the phone worked before and i can do emergency calls and stuff.
It doesnt even work on 2g or anything.

Basically all the I9305T i found available to download.
Also flashed some I9305 stock rom but dont remember.
Network operators shows every network for me but when i select one it says unavailable.

Dont know how efs file work but my imei is correct on *#06# but i just cant get any network only emergency.

All of them my imei was normal but emergency only.

I dont need dual sim adapter and how would this even work if i cant even get network to work properly?
I recommend to use Samsung Kies and flash back to stock? Maybe you've tried or contacting your telco for a signal boost antenna

here's my situation. My sister's 8190L suddenly was unable to make calls, send texts or use any kind of data over 3g. Upon trying to dial any number we'd get a "not registered on network" error. After reading a bit I thought she could have somehow erased her IMEI number, but that was not the case.
I them proceeded to check her modem files but they were all fine. I even tried backing up and replacing NV.DAT with no luck. I installed a couple of custom(jawclaw, most recently) and stock rom(i've only found one online HOME_I8190UBUAMH3_I8190ZTOAMH1_I8190UBUAMH3.tar) trying to fix this but still no luck.
I also found this topic http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1366329 but it's from 2011 and a galaxy s2 phone. And no my sis' phone hasn't been reported stolen.

Your problem is related to the sim card..that would be the first thing ti verify when ril isn't working. Try another sim and post us..

Forgot to mention, but I tested her sim card on my phone(optimus 2x) and it worked perfectly. While my simcard on her 8190L presented itself with the same problem.
A friend of mine gave me a S3 to play with and said i can have it if i can get it to work.
Now he doesnt know the original network that it came on or what the original firmware version was.
Before i even tried to get a sim card to work i unlocked it using the hidden menu with sha256 etc.
Now when i put in a sim card it doesnt register to a network, I am in the UK and have tried Three, GiffGaff and T-mobile sims as they are what i have and none of the register to network.
I have a couple of bars signal and the phone says "emergency calls only".
The IEMI seems fine and I have backed up the NV data using QPST and EFS Professional

I wouldnt have thought so, It worked before when he used to use it ages ago, hes had a few phones since.
He messed around with it quite a lot and has changed the firmware/modems and what have you so much he doesnt know what he has done with it so i presume that its just not set up right.
So anybody got any ideas?
Flash a UK stock rom read the network imei efs stickied posts and work your way through them .
Try your carrier's guide of setting up the correct vpn.

I Have had this i9305 now without mobile signal, with a vodaphone it did used to show signal but in all cases it always says 'no mobile networks' or 'not registered on network' i have tried with every sim i can think of... it was suggested to flash a stock rom which i did..this made no difference, i then tried installing CM11 and followed the guide to the letter.
I know this phone is not blacklisted as i checked with the imei, i have tried flashing different modems but to be honest im not sure what i am flashing to it..i have tried three different ones now starting with XX as i am in uk...i really dont know if i have missed something or doing something drastically wrong..i have read and read and usualy i would have had this resolved by now...can anyone please help me as i want to give this handset to my girlfriend for a present very soon so we can keep in touch..i am at my wits end with it:crying:

Try an emergency restore through Samsung Kies - this should eliminate any software related problem. Sounds to be a hardware problem though so get Triangleaway going and send it for repair if that doesn't work.
Flash 4.1.2, then enable and disable the LTE-only mode hack in the hidden service menu (the *#2263# one, not *#*#4636#*#*). (If you have root, you can also access that menu in 4.3 or even the 4.4.2 port, but it's a bit more involved.)

it won't let me do that as it doesn't list the phone as needing an emergency recovery. I flashed a stock rom and the signal is showing but it keeps saying not registered on network.. if I do a search it finds providers but when I opt for the provider of the sim it just perpetually spins at registering on network.

when you say 4.1.2 which rom.. A stock one or a custom.. could you point me please ?.. The stock rom I have flashed is 4.1.3 I didn't flash a radio after as being stock it would be there already ??
Have just followed a guide to root this unit, upon installing root checker it says this device does not have proper root, Odin reports that everything went ok and i get the red pirate android..when the phone boots a pop up comes up saying unfortunatley SU has stopped working... not sure whether KNOX is stopping this ?

The mobile phone was from a french network. Bouygues and was unlocked in portugal.
i have got many problems with this phone but i like it very mutch.
the problem that bothers me the most is that i only make and receive calls with full network.
The WCDMA was not working but i allready fix it. Now when i turn to wcdma only it says not register in networck.
the only backup i have from the EFS folder was made by copy- paste and i think the problem was allready there and now i think i had brocken my phone. can you help me???

Someone's suggested this phone is barred.. I have run a check which says it's not blocked but it's been suggested that this is unreliable...I have bars showing but just never registered on network.
Does your IMEI reported in *#06# match the one printed under the battery?

I am in India at the moment...i have 3 Verizon G2 phones...SIM cards work fine on 2 of them...On the third one...it does not detect the mobile network...sim is detected ,coz it gives no alert...and when i search for networks...the networks are shown...it just doesnt connect to the network...the sim cards work fine in other phones...in the other G2 phones and in a HTC DROID DNA...so its not the sim at fault....
Have tried multiple SIM cards from Vodafone/Loop Mobile/Airtel...none of them work on this particular phone..
When i search for networks...im getting networks...but cant connect to them...most times it shows error while searching for network...
What can be the problem ?
Please help me out...otherwise will have to send the phone all the way back to USA...
if i am right... verizon phone is unlocked to all US carriers only....try to verify if its globally unlocked

those are the frequence bands it support.
India support 900 1800
So technically it should work..

I got 3 Verizon g2... 2 of them work fine with Indian sim cards.
The third one is facing this problem.. I thought the IMEI was lost.. But IMEI is still intact and dame as that on the box.. Also Verizon g2 has no unlocking system as it is already unlocked..
That ink which u posted says it is unlocked for us carriers.. And not that it cannot be used outside the US.. People use it in UK, Australia.. Mexico.. Germany.. To name a few..
It seems the efs partition is corrupt but I don't know how to fix that as I have no backup..
Also if it wasent unlocked the sim won't be detected.
When I search for networks, the networks show.. It just doesn't connect..
The problem exists only in one of the 3 phones..
Ok then install custom rom and try with that.
I can recommend you for cloudy g3 rom. Best one out there
If your phone is not rooted and no custom recovery then open towelroot.com from your phone and install apk and it will root right a way
Then install rashr flash tool from play Market and install twrp recovery.
It's the easiest methods to install custom recovery and root I can recommend.
I hope this will work for you and don't forget to setup apn setting if data plan not working

Already tried that ,before posting here...not working...used cloudy...used towelroot,and autorec... when it doesnt connect to the network apn settings are useless...

I have a very similar problem. Using a SIM with 850 mhz HDSPA provider LG G2 works.
But when I use a SIM at 900 mhz, I got only voice. No 2G even.
Ideas?

In My case the same sim works on another vs980..but not on this one..

Fixed for me. I rooted the phone. I installed the cloudy rom, based in the D802 version of LG G2, now, the phone works perfect. No issues at all.
I suggest change the rom and try other software.

does the phone have a big verizon logo in the back or in the screen? Then yes, it's a VS980. Pick that option in the aroma installer.

I know mine is a VS980 and i have installed cloudy on my VS980...in aroma...nothing happened....

I am using Verizon G2 32gb.. and yes... signal reception is so so soo poor.. at same locaiton, others handsets with same network are receiving very good signals while its on no network :/

Upgraded my VS980 to lolipop and after a couple of days same thing happened to me. I am in Pakistan btw. Sim is working fine on any other mobile. Have tried restoring to stock nothing happened. One thing i want to add is when i change my location sometimes for a couple of minutes, network do appear. But it does not makes call or uses data then it again gets to emergency calls only status... Phone is no better then i web browser now.... Help needed

I have an lg vs980 and I was using it with H2O wireless and later I changed to Simple Mobile. I'm living in Puerto Rico. The phone was working all right and, suddenly, one day it was always displaying 'emergency calls only'.
I did factory reset, then I reflashed stock lollipop and it was like nothing happened, keeps displaying 'emergency calls only'.
Then I found this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2394689 and applied the patch but didn't seem to resolve the problem.
As a last resort I tried flashing cm 12.1 and before first boot applied the patch from the cited thread but no result, keeps displaying 'emergency calls only'.
Has anyone found a solution to this problem?

This is what i did:
1.flashed custom ROM (worked like a charm,i did nandroid backup)
2.flashed other custom ROM (didnt like it so I restored the first one from nandroid)
3.everything went well except no imei and no baseband
4.reverted back to stock rom with odin
5.and here is the problem,no 4g signal at all. 3g/2g works fine.
If I post my build.prop can somebody tell me whats wrong?
I have tried to put my sim card in other phone and it works but not in my phone.
Did you enable 4G in Settings?

Is there a test that I can use to test is it a software or hardware issue?
Maybe an issue of Stock rom you flashed using odin.. Which one exactly have yoi flashed? What modem you have now? And finally, is your S3 i9305 or some i9305T variant?

Thanks for your replies,I flashed stock german 4.4.4 from sammobile.It worked very good about 2 months.
I think that modem is xxufoa1 and version of phone is i9305 lte international.
If somebody could help me with this issue,I would appreciate that.But no hurries,I got new playmate S6 edge...
try doing a complete wipe of data and cache, then flash stock rom again to see if problem persists

Hey, try flashing the parambin.zip file (look for it on google related to s3 lte, you'll find it easily). Another thing to try is just wait with the phone turned on with a valid SIM. I found out that sometimes it delayed a lot to get signal, specially when changing SIM carriers on another country. After a while waiting it finally succeeded (probably unrelated but I also saw on the catlog entries about upgrading the sahara file of the qualcomm chip -the modem-).
