I'm happy enough with the copy of Quickpic that I picked up off here, the last before Cheetah took over things, but I'm curious enough to try the Moto Gallery. Can you secret away albums/pics you don't want the world to see?

I don't mean to cause any trouble, but might I suggest you take a look at your apk? I downloaded and tried to install it on my device, a Moto G5, but I'm running McAfee and Malwarebytes. Malwarebytes popped up putting a stop to the installation citing that there was a PUP (Potentially Unwanted Program) as part of the apk. Something about some kind of risk.aware program embedded in things...
@kapilrtn or all the use the Moto Gallery have you issues with playing videos? With some videos I only get a black screen.
Do you guys like the latest LineageOS gallery? I could get the APK from my other phone. Why the heck Moto G5 Plus doesn't come with Gallery?
Seems rediculous to leave it out?!
Moto G5 plus comes with Google Photos.
Hello to all, at my G5 Plus i do not have file manager app, is it part of the original ROM or downloaded it?

The best gallery are Quickpic and Focus as per the user
Quickpic is normal sort of gallery
Focus is gallery app just like google photos with some changes
These are my opinion...
Try them if u want to

That's not the Moto X camera features, it's an app launcher that can be set to launch the camera apk ou anyother app. It also consumes +20MB of memory.

The free "focal" app in the play store has photosphere feature
in the play store, download the free app "focal" by "team BBQ." it was the camera app that was going to be in CyanogenMod. still in beta but it does do photosphere. here is the link to google play store. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=fr.xplod.focal
Did you guys have any problems with any "failed to connect to camera" errors after using/install the photosphere camera?
How well does this work? I mean, the stitching improved a lot in 4.4 on my nexus 4 but I was planning on buying the moto x to replace, I really like it but I don't want to lose photosphere.

Anyone know if this version also does the Geotagging required to submit the photo sphere to create your own street view as Google has started allowing:

Looks like it. I did a test photosphere with the nexus gallery camera posted on the first page and uploaded it to G+. It is viewable there and if I click the details it looks to have all of the normal geolocation tags.
I'll try to do a real test this weekend.

Hrm so oddly, the images I upload to G+ with Nexus app are not viable on G+ in chrome on my PC. The Android G+ app views them OK. I wonder what is happening there.
Working like a champ on my KK Moto X. It does drop the resolution to 5MP but the shutter lag is significantly lower with this camera - which is why I wanted it. Thanks for the APK!
works great, but one issue
the app works great on my at&t moto x, however, i cannot upload the photosphere to google maps. when i click share to maps, it takes me to the app maps, instead of uploading. anyone experienced that too? (share to g+ or g+ photos works fine)
Recently I started to use AICP as it seems to be the most stable for Verizon at the moment. The lack of the stock camera app kind of bugged me and I get that almost all roms will change the camera app. Some people hate the stock app others adore it and others got used to it. I have the apk for the stock app right here and it had been working flawlessly on my xt1575.
I will be uploading mirrors later tonight in case my Dropbox link isn't working
Sorry for the long wait but I'm finally back with a new mirror!!!! https://Bit.ly/1SQgll2
I take no credit for anything I just found the apk
This is not a flashable zip I can make one later if it's needed
This has not been tested on a xt1572 device. Either varient.
Feel free to test for me
If this works for you feel free to leave a comment and a thumbs. Or don't I don't care ?
Thanks. I to found that the stock camera is my preferred app. I had a backup with titanium and I just restored it to system. It works with the twist motion also. I'm on Slim Saber.

That one is ported from the moto g so I'm not positive if anything was changed although I'm pretty sure that the moto x style/pure camera app is the only camera app with the front flash as an option. Seeing as the moto g does not have a front flash it wouldn't make sense for the moto g to have that as option hence there may be a difference. This one came straight from the moto x pure and will most likely work on both varients of moto x styles in every rom. Hope this answers your question!

The Moto G version has the front-facing flash as well so i think that is taken from the X Pure also. It also has the advanced ladybug control activated and both camera and app are installable apks. The app also just got updated a few days back so it is the latest one.

I gotcha. See, when using the stock apk you posted (btw, thanks. ) everything is dandy except I cannot swipe right-to-left to get at the gallery. It just shows the grey placeholder screen. I'd love to have the camera integrated into something just so I can review the last picture taken or what have you.
Any thoughts?

I've been using the stock camera app, but have wondered if I'm missing something better.. I'm not a serious or good photographer by any means. Mainly looking for something simple, that allows save to SD that will take good pictures
Sent from my XT1575 using Tapatalk 2
I use the Moto camera app that was stock on the phone. 2 reasons, first, if I want to take great pictures I use my dslr not a phone. Second, I love the twist of the wrist to start it. Usually if I am using my phone to photograph it is because a quick something is happening or about to happen and I can twist my wrist as I bring it up to my face level and the camera app is open and ready to use. Just my 2 cents.
Sent from my XT1575 using Tapatalk
Exactly, I have the same feelings about moto camera. Also you can record video very quickly (no need to change mode like in other apps). Slow motion video is quite fun too. The only thing that I hate is that it doesn't have built in gallery like for example google cam which leads to delays and bugs.
I'm using HTC Camera and it works well.
Snapdragon camera, which I'm really liking.
I'm using Moto camera but the newer version (camera1) ported from Moto G which adds in a better UI and some manual controls
For pics I use the Google Camera with the HDR+ enabled, it takes great shots when there's a lot of light, Moto camera it's ok, but I rather use Google's. I'm also using Footej (haven't used it that much but so far so good!).
Since I'm rooted I have Xposed, whith the Twisty module I can enable the wrist twist to open any of the cameras I want as default.
For my use of a camera and I have tried many, I really like Open Camera from the Play Store. It offers some of the best options and features without getting all gimmicky.
Using two camera apps, Camera1 from the play store (Motorola's New Camera) for taking pictures and Open Camera for video recording
I have been using "DSLR Camera" from the store for about the last two years. Does everything I want with no fuss.
