Hey guys, Dual Boot Patcher for the Zuk Z2 Pro is officially supported! Check it out here!
Here's the guide:
First of all download these files from here:
DualBootPatcher.apk;
DualBoot tilities.zip;
DualBootPatcher for Windows (only if you want to patch files from windows instead of Android).
Important: Copy DualBootUtilities.zip into your internal memory because if something goes wrong you can "save" your phone thanks to it via recovery.
Install DualBootPatcher.apk;
Open it and give the root permission;
You will be asked to set the kernel in order to use it, confirm of course;
Now you have to tap on "Patch zip file";
After that select the FAB button than "Add flashable zip" and navigate to add the ROM/file that you want to patch;
You have to select the right device and choose "Dataslot" giving a name to the ROM;
Once is done you're ready to install you ROM/file;
Go to ROMs section and again click on the FAB button, "+" and than "Add patched file" and navigate to add the file that you've just patched;
"Keep Location" at the new prompt;
Now just tap on the tick on the top to start. At the end you will have the last 3/4 rows in green with return "0". Return 0 means "everything is ok";
Click on the ROM you want to boot the phone and reboot;
If something goes wrong you can use DualBootUtilities.zip to switch to your primary rom.
Reboot into recovery (press and hold the power button for 15 seconds);
Select recovery and than navigate and find "DualBootPatcher" that you have already copied to your internal memory and install it;
You will have an AROMA Interface to manage everysingle part of your ROMs;
Code:
[url]https://tlgur.com/d/MGanXyEg[/url]
(I noticed that AROMA interface is overturned, if you've got the same bug you have to try to get the right button on the screen via the volume buttons and power button).
Go next and select your primary ROM;
Code:
[url]https://tlgur.com/d/p8DkWkX4[/url]
Than select and press on "Switch to";
Code:
[url]https://tlgur.com/d/74yyryn4[/url]
Now, just click next until finish;
Code:
[url]https://tlgur.com/d/q8leDoyG[/url]
Reboot your device and you're ok.
Code:
[url]https://tlgur.com/d/MGanXyEg[/url]
Q&A:
Q: How can I update my primary ROM?
A: Just patch the file and select "PrimaryROM Updgrade". Flash it.
Q: How can I flash gapps on my secondary ROM?
A: Patch the gapps using as location "Dataslot" with the correct name that you've got for the ROM.
Q: How can I flash Xposed/Magisk on my secondary ROM?
A: Patch the file using as location "Dataslot" with the correct name that you've got for the ROM.

HOLY CRAP WHERE WAS THIS ALL MY LIFE (or at least the last few months)?!
Instead of losing HOURS and HOURS out of my life just trying to finish running Titanium backups, TWRP backups, copying to computer, rebooting EDL, QFIL firehosing, waiting for ZUI boot, rebooting bootloader, reinstalling TWRP, installing a custom rom, GApps, Magisk/SuperSU/whatever, signing back into Google, doing settings and disabling built-in Chinese crapware, etc. OVER and OVER again... I can just patch the installer and make a new Data Slot? And switch back to ZUI as primary when it's time to get back to work? This is wonderful! Not quite a VM as far as sandboxing it, but still; such a timesaver!
I've never even seen it before, but patching a couple ROMs (AICP June 3 - Magisk removed from zukfans.eu and Mokee 712 June 6), osmosis' UnSU script, OpenGapps current pico release, and current SuperSU, checking free space, creating two Data slots, installing the ROMs with working Gapps and SuperSU into Data Slots 1 & 2, booting both, signing in to my Google account, and getting DBP loaded into both of them so I could switch around between testing environments and going back to ZUI as Primary ROM took all of about an hour and a half.
Daaaaang!
_____
Update: One obnoxious thing - you'll lose your PIN/fingerprint lock once you switch back to primary. As in, you'll put in the correct PIN, and it won't take it, and I presume won't let you in with fingerprint either; same as if you restore a nandroid backup with device protection enabled. To fix: via ADB or custom recovery file manager, you need to delete /data/system/locksettings.db (thanks to @srnoth via this post ).
That's correct, but only happens once when you install a secondary ROM and then switch back to your primary. Switching between the two works flawlessly afterwards. App Sharing works wonderfully. Apk has to be installed on both systems and the option has to be enabled both times. Then the same directory is used across the two systems.

You can because I was on Mokee 7.1.2 and I flashed Flyme that is 6.0. Maybe the problem is the version of Lineage 13. Try another 6.0 ROM.
Thanks

I try with AICP 7.1.2 and MoKee 7.1.2 as primary rom but the second rom Lineage 13 cant boot sstem and only light a fixed blue led.
Anybody know why it is not possible to boot?
May be i have 7.1.2 as primary and 6.0.1 as secundary is the answer for that issue.
Thanks.
if your primary ROM is android 7 based then every secondary ROM need to be android 7 based. same for primary android 6 -> secondary need to be android 6

With that multirom TWRP is possible to have dual boot with 7.1.2 and 6.0.1 custom ROMs working?
you'll find it on zukfans*eu and NO it is NOT possible to use 7.1.2/6.0.1 together. its because of the used modem etc. images ...

How can you explain 7.1.2 as primary and flyme based on 6.0 as secondary?
It's not possible. Even if this question is asked a thousand times
Has anybody tried wiping and reinstalling their primary room? I have some issues on my primary so I have to do a clean reinstall.
Also, is app sharing possible with multi rom TWRP?

- Is possible to have the zui as primary rom and another custom as secondary?
- The custom roms as more time of battery?
Thanks
I have tested several custom ROM's for Redmi 6a (cactus) but after all I Can say that this ROM is the best one.

@kharuba YouTube video link has been removed from your post. Kindly post the complete steps in your post. Linking to a YouTube video without any more information or detailing steps in the post is against the guidelines. Also, the thread has been moved to the Guides, News, & Discussion sub-forum since it is not a development thread and you're just sharing the ROM.

Hello XDA community! I was building unofficial ROMs for Redmi 6A. I'm posting my collection of ROMs for Redmi 6A that I've been building. All ROMs have been tested and time tested.
Code:
Warning!
ROMs data only works on vendor MIUI from 10.4.4.0 to 11.0.8.0 Android 9.0 based.
On version 11.0.9.0 there will be problems.
It is recommended to roll back to the versions I described above
VoLTE not working!
I recommend using TWRP Recovery Official or PBRP Recovery Official.
BlissRom has a bug with silent ringtones!
Installation method
1) Install TWRP https://megafon929.github.io/twrp-autoinstaller
2) Reboot to TWRP
3) Wipe > Format Data > " yes " > Click on the check mark > Back
4) Wipe > Advanced Wipe > select: Dalvik / ART Cache, System, Data, Internal Storage, Cache > Swipe to Wipe > Back
5) Install > Select the ROM file (If you need GAPPS and Magisk, it is recommended to click the "Add ZIPs" button and select the necessary archives) > Swipe to confirm Flash
6) Wipe > Format Data > " yes " > Click on the check mark > Back
7) Restart smartphone
The smartphone will reboot, and the download can last from 2 to 10 minutes. Wait!
That's it! The smartphone is ready to work

currently using the PE+. Hate the launcher due to its lack of customization (can't even change the grid lol, don't want to use custom launcher bcz it will mess up the gesture navigation) but love the smoothness of it on my 6A. Is there any ROM on your work that has similar smoothness to PE+? Tried Arrow OS, but it stuttering abit :/
I currently flashed aicp_14_9.0_cactus_SI_by_MegaFon929.zip
TWRP: twrp-3.5.2_9-0-cactus.img
No gapps - no root
I have to say that this rom is (so far) excellent!
Great battery life
snappy UI
WiFi OK and stable
Mobile data 4G OK and stable
Location OK
Bluetooth OK
Camera OK
everything works (no bugs as far as i tested it).
My device is Redmi 6A (cactus).
I was in MIUI 11.0.8.0
Follower ALL the instructions, everything went smooth.
Before, this device was very laggy and very hard to use for daily tasks.
Now, this device is like a brand new phone!
Thank You MEGAFON929! Great ROM!
Hello and thanks for the ROMs. I followed the instructions very carefully and tried both lineage_16.0_9.0_cactus_SI_by_MegaFon929.zip and
aicp_14_9.0_cactus_SI_by_MegaFon929.zip
TWRP: twrp-3.5.2_9-0-cactus.img
With the first zip I always boot to FASTBOOT and with the second I get a bootloop.
Do you have any suggestions? Can I see some debugging output somehow?
@manolismi
I followed the instructions "letter-by-letter" and had no issues at all.
1) Install TWRP
Try to not add gapps or magisk at first flash (i did not).
I don't use gapps at all, and i flashed magisk after some reboots, and all is fine.
The last 48 hours i'm in "lineage_16.0_9.0_cactus_SI_by_MegaFon929.zip", and i must say this:
This rom is even better than GZ and AICP that i've tried in the past few days.
Good luck!
@Logcates Yes I followed the same instructions carefully. And I only flashed the lineage_16.0_9.0_cactus_SI_by_MegaFon929.zip, without gapps or magisk. The only things we might have done differently are
which TWRP did you install? I got the latest from the instructions link.
Did you verify the zip before flashing? I was getting a validation error so i had to disable checking
I also wiped the internal storage and then copied the zip to it from my computer (and then installed it)
Do you see any problems in those steps above?
@manolismi
I flashed: twrp-3.5.2_9-0-cactus.img (same as you i believe)
I had no warnings or errors during flash.
Maybe your downloads are somehow corrupt?
I always use opera for downloading anything, because chrome gives me corrupted files very frequently.
Another thing is that i was in MIUI 11.0.8.0
Maybe you were in a different MIUI version?
I first flashed AICP (had it for ~2 days),
then GZOSP (had it for a few hours),
then Lineage (i think i will stay in lineage, as call recording is a feature that i like).
I don't know what else could be causing those problems for you.
I hope for the best.
Thank you so much for your work to make this possible! I'm amazed. I finally unlocked and flashed lineageos16 on the 6a of my girlfriend. She's super happy and everything is running perfect! Nice to give this device some new life! Thanks again!
Installed LineageOS 16 on this 3 year old Redmi 6A.
Just wanna say these cROMs saved my old phone from laggy stock UI. Thanks mate!
Just noted that when I flashed LOS from MIUI 11.0.9 Global it the camera doesn't work (Error : Can't connect to the Camera). Note to anyone who try this on 11.0.9, downgrade to 11.0.8 first. (unless there's update in future from the respected dev).
Only when downgrading to MIUI 11.0.8 Global the camera works. I tried reflash 11.0.9 two times before end up flash from MIUI 11.0.8.
Moral : pay attention to the requirements to flash this cROM. In fact, any cROM. read manual in detail.
I Install Pixel Experience plus in my Redmi 6A but i have a issue when i want charge by usb to PC show me "charging slowly" i try install module to magisk but dosent work to me maybe isnt version to the device.
Any ideas?
can't seem to install TWRP via the instruction.
redmi 6a unlock bootloader not rooted
MIUI Global 11.0.8 Stable
Android 9 PPR1.180610.011
update**
i had no luck with fastboot flashing TWRP so i tried PBRP and i was able to install it
then
wipe / fomat card
reboot to bootloader
And flash twrp-3.5.2_9-0-cactus.img and followed the instructions here...now i got Lineage 16 working.
thanks devs for the cROMs and guides!
i have folowed the whole instruction and tried three roms till now at first i flashed lingeage os 17.1 ,but due to camera not working and was restarting now and then automatically i tried arrow os and got stuck in bootloop ,again after this i downloaded and flashed new rom pixel expirence and again i m encountering the same issue with bootloop stuck ........ please suggest the solution
Hi, here's a guide on how install crDroid 7.5 (A11) on Redmi 8
UPDATE: THERE'S 7.5 VERSION AVAIABLE, IF YOU ARE USING 7.4 FOLLOW THIS STEPS TO UPDATE WITHOUT LOSING DATA (NEW ROM IS IN MEGA FOLDER, ):
1- Reboot in recovery
2- Go to Wipe -> Avanced wipe -> wipe dalvik, cache and system
3- Go to Reboot -> Recovery
4- Now follow the normal guide from the flashing of the .img file as system image
VERY IMPORTANT: DON'T FORMAT DATA AFTER FLASHING GSI FIXER OR YOU WILL LOST ALL YOUR DATA
Features:
- All functions of the phone work (face unlock, fingerprint, voLTE, voWIFI, hotspot, bluetooth, fast charge, DT2W, ...)
- Magisk safetynet passed without flash nothing (screenshot at the bottom)
- Permissive Selinux by default (in settings is writing disabled, it's wrong) but you can switch to enforcing with
SelinuxModeChanger app, apk at the bottom
What doesn't work
- Nothing if you use fixes below
Note 1: You may have problems with the brightness or sim calls/sms, there are solutions:
- For brightness: Open settings -> Go in "Phh Treble Settings" -> "Misc Features" -> Scroll until you are in backlight menu -> Select "Force alternative backlight scale" and "Enable auto-brightness overlay" -> then deselect both and reboot
- For sim calls: Open settings -> Go in "Network and internet" -> "Mobile network" -> Tap on "Preferred network type" and select "GSM/WCDMA/LTE" or "Global" (try which is better for you) and then reboot
Note 2: If you fing bugs tell me in comments, maybe I could help you (I'm not the developer of the rom)
IMPORTANT ADVICE:I am not responsible for any damage caused to your device by not following the steps, all the steps were tested on my personal device and are confirmed, my device is Redmi 8 4/64
Installation Steps - All the files you need are HERE
Note 3: I did the installation coming from Mui 12.0.1 stock (flashed in fastboot with Mi Flash) and there was no problem in the installation process or in the boot process, YOU NEED THIS ROM IF YOU WON'T PROBLEMS
1- First make a backup of all the necessary information in case something goes wrong you can easily recover, Charge the battery at least 80%
All your data will be deleted during the process
2- Unlock the Bootloader if you have not already done it or do not know how to, follow this post: http://en.miui.com/unlock/
3- Before continue following steps estract on pc "crdrom-v302-210315-arm64-bvZ.img" from "crdrom-v302-210315-arm64-bvZ.img.xz" and activate USB debug in phone settings
4- Reboot in fastboot and connect the phone to the pc with cable
5- Install on pc minimal adb tool (zip at the bottom), flash the TWRP recovery typing " fastboot flash recovery ", now drag twrp file near the command, then vbmeta typing " fastboot --disable-verity --disable-verification flash vbmeta " and drag vbmeta file near the command. Finished the procedure type " fastboot reboot " and hold volume + on the phone until you see the recovery screen
6- Scroll on the slider at the bottom of the phone screen to access in the TWRP
7- Go to Wipe -> Format data -> type "yes"
8- Go to Reboot -> Recovery
9- Go to Wipe -> Avanced wipe -> wipe dalvik, data, cache and system
10- Go to Reboot -> Recovery
NOW YOU HAVE TO TRANSFER ALL OTHER FILES OR IN THE INTERNAL STORAGE OF THE PHONE OR IN SD/USB WITH OTG CABLE
11- Go to Install -> Select the storage where you have files -> Install img -> select "crdrom-v306-210425-arm64-bvZ.img" (Extracted from the .xz file) -> select "system image" and flash
12- Wait and then go to Reboot -> Recovery
13- Wipe -> Advanced wipe -> select "system" and click on "Repair or change file system" -> Resize system
14- Wait and then go to Reboot -> Recovery
15- Install -> Select the storage where you have files -> Flash "GSI-BUGS-FIXER_11_Q.zip"
16- Wipe -> Format data -> type "yes"
17- Wait and then go to Reboot -> Recovery
18- Install -> Select the storage where you have files -> Flash "BiTGApps-arm64-11.0.0-R19_signed.zip"
19- Wait and then go to Reboot -> System
20- Configure phone and enjoy your new rom
Note 4: I reccomend you to flash magisk after you have configured the rom to avoid problems, I leave you the zip to flash in recovery below
Note 5: I reccomend you the best gcam I've found for Redmi 8, everything works except slow motion, link HERE
Thanks for the attenction

Happy that many GSI roms are under develment. I hope this phone will die due to hardware, as there are lots of options in future to keep the software updated.
Anyway, if someone intends to try, following is the link of all GSI Roms.

Hi, I'm happy for you, for safetynet try the magisk module, I didn't have this problem, anyway, try the rom and than leave a feedback, it could be useful for other people who want to try this rom
I can't get this rom to work correctly. Did the steps as described, but it has SELinux not enforced and Google play isn't certified. Tried multiple times.
EDIT: seems my phone is soft bricked now (Can't install any rom). Going back to xaomi stock to try again.
I tried again and got it to work. The certificate patch throws an error but Google apps are working.
I get an SE Linux not enforcing error. though.
Is there anything I can do about that?

This is my first tuto for the SM-T590 Tab. I´ve tried to install GSI for days. The results was bootloops. So I asked some people, readed some stuff. And voila it´s working. So I would like to share my experience to you.
First of all I would like to say thanks to all the people who helped me to understand some things. But a BIG THANKS goes to @UDPSendToFailed . Thank you for your patience with me .
It should be clear but I would like to write it down here.. I am not a professional and collection my knowledge from other sites and threads. So I am not responsible for data loss, device bricking or other stuff. Thank you.
Prerequisites- working ADB and fastboot, ubuntu suggested- odin and odin patched version- all necessary files: twrp.img; stock FW (latest); GSI Image (a64-binder); Magisk; Disable-DM-Verity.zip
Enable developer settings and allow OEM unlock- go to settings, system, about the phone; click several times on build-number- go back to main, then more settings, developer options- toggle USB debugging + OEM unlock
Prepare download mode for odin- connect the tab to your computer and run the following codes:
Code:
adb devices
there should be a message to authorize adb to your device
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
now we should be in download mode
Flash stock FW- download latest FW- open odin (unmodified), choose FW files (AP, BL,CSC)- click start, be patient, if finished it will reboot to system, close odin- walk through the setup
Flash recovery/twrp- open modded odin- select "AP" and open the recovery file- hold volume up and then press start (if you´re not it will boot to system and overwrite recovery)
Flash GSI- so now inside twrp..- follow those steps exactly; very important; otherwise you will end up in a bootloop- go to "wipe" and select format data, confirm with "yes"- reboot to recovery again, otherwise twrp wont have access to internal storage- again to "wipe", then "factory reset"- go back to "install" section, toggle "install zip" to "install img"- select your GSI image and choose "install to system"- when finished go back to "wipe" section- select "Advance Wipe" then select "System" and then "Repair or Change File System"- click on "Resize File System" and swipe to confirm- now go back to "install" section and flash first Disable-DM-Verity and if wanted Magisk24.1 afterwards- if also needed you can now install gapps
Pass Safetynet- boot up system and open magiskmanager- go to "modules" section and install "hide props config- download "termux terminal"- open "termux terminal" and type su; grant root- type props and choose option "1 - Edit device fingerprint"- choose "f"- choose "26 - samsung"- choose "85 - sm-t590"- confirm with "y" twice!
Congrats. Now your GSI should boot up. If you have any questions or suggestions please dont hesitate to let me know.
P.s. please be patient with my English, I am from Germany.

Hello there,
to bes sure... what was your exact step for resizing system partition? It was the minor reason for me that the os wont boot up. In my case I´ve only tested AOSP right now.
Maybe your bootloop is caused by the os itself. I am now not at home for about 6 weeks but I´ll give it a try and will let you know ASAP.
You can try AOSP GSI for the meantime.
Grüße auch aus DBT!
my Problem was the wrong ROM i used the arm ROM but for the sm-t590 you need the a64 (binder) ROM OK, its working fine but i head a Problem with my MAC Adress every boot i have another WiFi MAC adress i tested AOSP crdrom and many other but all the same, in the developer Mode the Random MAC is still disabled! how can i fix the MAC adress?
i try it with busybox and ifconfig ..... but i get allways a denied
Hey,
I am sorry to let you know that I am not a developer and so it is not easy for me to understand which part of OS will cause the problems with the mac adress as in your case.
But I think I´ve heard about that problem in the past.
Glad to hear that GSI is working for you right know.
Greetings.
and you have no problems with the wifi? or you have not noticed the changing MAC address?
can you tell me which versions you have flashed
stock Rom Android 10?
and which ASOP version?
--> then I try that times like you
I would really like a custom ROM without ONE UI, but I carry my tablet around in public. Can I set a password on this GSI or will there be a bootloop? And I think that the roms from the T590 will be installed on the T595, since the difference is only in the LTE module? (Well, about the same as on the Nexus 9 LTE / WiFi?)
i have a password set up but i had to deleting keystore.mdfpp.so and keystore.msm8953.so from /vendor/lib/hw after this you can set a password without bootloop!
The only problem I have with it is that my MAC address keeps changing and every now and then the connection drops!
