Where the hell is the update for EVA-L29 ??? - Huawei P9 Questions & Answers

What is wrong with Huawei for not releasing nougat update for the 64GB variant of the P9?
EVA-L29 was suppose to be the "premuim" version of the P9 and Huawei has literary ignored the owners
I swear Im never going to Huawei if they keep treating us like sh*t.

Sorry and thanks for reply but Im really frustrated with them treating us like crap. They said 7.0 will be available through OTA at the beginning of the year 2017 but they keep stalling and stalling. Anyway, can you tell me exactly how to install this update manually?

Heh, with such attitude, I can just guess that not only Huawei is ignoring you...
Honestly EVA-L29 is not a premium device, it have just more memory and fancy color, If you though that others will threat you like celebrity just because you get it, you are wrong.
As for update it self, its just an update, it doesnt change your phone to F1 car, its just bigger number in phone informations and few different things in terms of look and function.
In terms of releasing update, that update was available for really long time as Beta and now as RC, it was a matter of checking Early access option in HiCare few times when they send batch download access to it.
Also if you would like to know, Huawei actually is not that bad in terms of releasing Nougat, right now in whole world, only about 3% of devices have nougat(2,4% by Google data from March 6, 2017).
So If I would be you, I would remove that stick from your back, Chill down, and wait until official release. Because its better to have proper update later than crappy quick made now that later will need dozens of patches.

does this update.zip and update.blabla also work for eva-L29 3gb ram and 32gb rom variant its my gf's phone so im asking

Was wondering if you ever used this nougat update (B361) or got an answer as I also have an eva-L29 with 3gb ram and 32gb rom P9? If you did flash this B361, how do you like it? Thanks in advance!

Still no official 7.0 Nougat update global release?!

Why is Huawei so slow in making the official 7.0 update available for every P9 user? A few people have already received it so how come the majority still don't have said update?

Because its not just up to Huawei to send out these updates. If you have a branded phone, the update will actually come from the carrier, this is why the global models (C432 and C636) were the very first to get EMUI 5.0, because these are international models and the updates usually comes directly from Huawei. If you have a Vodaphone branded phone, then you are really waiting on Huawei sending the firmware to Vodaphone and then Vodaphone will need to do their testing to make sure it works (this sometime takes months, even up to a year) with their frequencies and services. So if you are on anything but C432 and C636, its not Huawei's fault you havent got EMUI 5.0, its your carriers fault.

Would you happen to know if EVA-L19C605 is an international model? I'm not seeing any branding on it, haven't received an update though.

There is a way to check but I cant remember how but I dont think it is an international model. Even if it has no branding, does not mean its an international version as well. It may be up to your local carrier to push through the update.

I am not 100% sure that the L19 Nougat firmware has started rolling out or not but I do know the L09 (both C432 and C636) has been officially rolled out. If you do some research into it and the L19C636 is getting the official Nougat update, I think there is a way to request for a firmware update via HiSuite.
Did not see the above answer, wrote the same, sorry. P.s. Both me and my friend got update via HiCare, not through settings.

I emailed the following to Huawei UK a few days:
Hi,
When is v7 android going to be released for unbranded Huwaei P9 in the UK.
We are so far behind... Others have had updates ages ago.
Thank
They sent the following reply:
Dear Customer,
Thank you for contacting Huawei UK Customer Care.
In response to your query, all the Huawei P9 European devices are planned to receive the Android Nougat update. However, at the moment we do not have any official release date. As soon as your device will be ready to update you will receive a notification and you will be able to commence with the installation process.
I trust that the above information will be helpful. Of course, if you have any other queries, don't hesitate to contact us and we'll be happy to assist.
Best regards,

in Finland, official EVA-L09 OTA-update is out earlier this week....i'm not updated, because don't know if it can root or not.
Seems like everyone else in Europe is getting it.
Sadly, we in the UK are still waiting!

Actually you are not alone, here also in the Philippines although Huawei stated that the Nougat update for L19C636 is already out but not everyone is getting it. I myself (using L19C6363) still not getting the update from the Updater nor in HiCare app. Huawei stated that the update is being pushed batch by batch. Since I got tired of waiting I was able to update by using Huawei updater and HiSuite. But still I recommend to wait for the announcement of Huawei to release the update in your region, there are some who use the Huawei updater got their device brick.

I live in Africa, every time I look for the update in HiCare or in the settings, there is nothing. In HiCare I switched from continent to europe then i took France as a country, i erased the cache in the application and i restarted the update request right after i In the B378.
If it can help.
This is a trick that was given to me by a member who often comes to the forum and who had done the update in the same way, thanks to him he will recognize himself.
I have an EVA-L09C432B375, my old version was the B185.
Excuse my bad English.
Updated today my EVA-L09C432 from B360 to B378 (Telekom Slovenia)
I spoke to a guru from O2 UK who actually had a p9 and was informed that the update from O2 will only be released the middle of next month. Long time to wait.?

I emailed Huawei again... this time they asked for my IMEI number to check and then came back with this:
Thank you for Contacting Huawei Customer Services.
Your device has O2 custom firmware on it. This means that until O2 releases their customised version of EMUI 5.x, no update will be released to your device.
As it is a third party developing the customisations, it is not something we have a timeline for.
I am sorry we cannot be of more help in this issue. I do hope you have a great weekend though!

my honor 5C changed variant itself...how??

Last update I installed was for my honor 5C NEM-L51C432B130. I've unlocked my boatloader, rooted the phone several times and soft bricked it a few times as well but always got it back to stock. Just by chance I was checking to see if the nougat update was anywhere to be found on the internet for my model but no such luck...stretch. Anyways I checked system updater and noticed that my 'about phone' says it is build/variant NEM-L51C900B130. Dies anyone know why or how this occurred? Also is it like a all inclusive version meaning I could install the firmware fur a different model which has nougat and emui 5 beta rolled out now it is c900? Also on the app MT FIRMWARE FINDER, the honor 5C doesn't even have a listing of firmware for c900 variant!?
Someone please help and shed some light.
Cheers honorable people ?

does your service providier still work? if it does you should be good. i wouldnt flash different variant updates or even right ones thru firmware finder app... if you flash updates before its avaible on official OTA downloader some options wont work and things can be unstable even rom should be stable.
Yes, my service provider works and I haven't encountered any problems. Out of interest, why do you reckon not to install updates through the firmware finder App? Many people have and I did on one occasion, and had no issues. I've never read a post on xda that the app should be avoided...?
Anyhow I've an unlocked boatloader and rooted my phone so I cannot get ota updates as a result. Also Huawei/Honor have really taken their time with rolling out the nougat firmware and their EMUI 5 and frankly I'm getting tired of waiting! Other models have it, and the honor 5 should have had it by now...c'mon already.
Say, does anyone know if and where you can find nougat update?

i dont know why you got such hurry to update to N, id flash original stock and then use firmware finder to update... there may be some problems on rom tho if its not same

Even Huawei do not know when Nougat its coming out for the Mediapad M3 (BTV-W09B)

I emailed Huawei regarding the Nougat update for EU Mediapad M3's (BTV-W09B) and they don't know when it will be. I am not really impressed as Nougat has been out 10 months now. No doubt the EMUI 'enhancements' slow down development.
I really like the tablet but this does not bode well for the future. Let hope that some custom Roms can be developed in the mean time.

Same answer for BTV-DL09, from Huawei Romania.
You can update your tablet via Firmware Finder, to B301 (for BTV-W09). it is Nougat, everything ist working properly.
I have B302 (for BTV-DL09) and have no issues, tablet is working even better

No, you can't. You need to change region to C100. I have no idea how it can be done. For other Huawei products it is possible, they have more support from developers.

Why? Can you explain this???
Are you sure or only spamming aroud FUD?
In my experience you can safely install a ROM of different region if for the same HW.
Why should I spam? I have no interest on spamming here...
Check other Huawei threads and you will see that people are using tools to change region.
If you know how it's done, people here are waiting for a tutorial. Explain them how it's made.
I do not need, as I already have the EU version and running 7.0.

I have just had a new one appear on Firmware Finder dated 6/6/2017, its BTV-W09C100B302 (FullOTA-MF-P 87280) 2.38GB. I am a bit cautious to flash it as this is my only working tablet at the moment.
there are instructions in pg 11 to backup and change regions in the update emui 5 thread. post #108. worked for me. ive switched between euro to south east asia.
I tried updating my tablet (BTV-DL09) to latest firmware but it is not working. Firmware Finder finds B303 update, but when i try to install it, authentication error ist coming. I am on B302 now.

[Discussion] Oreo is very close

This thread will be deleted, but I just want to let you know that we will start to recieve the oreo update in two weeks from now. I spoke with Huawei and they confirmed this in a private chat.
Today I found in firmware finder this, a rollback to emui 5.1 .. This is obviously because of 8.0
(I hope I was understandable)

there is already a lone ROM for our device. i thinki it's under the mate 10 lite forums and i bet it's based on stock rom. i don't haveplans to root and try it out though as we don't yet have full firmware packages for those who want to reflash. i hope huawei won't be so stingy giving out full firmware packages tho.

Course it won't. If huawei obeys google's 2-year update policy, we should also get P as our last update but i'm crossing my fingers for android Q. ??? since huawei was kind enough to update P9 to O, making it 3 major updates. My friend previously owns a P9. Now she owns a Mate 10.

Yeah... Im currently at 138. I guess that it is deployed currently at LLD-L21 but cant confirm unless others did.
First, i tried the newly improved screen recorder. Seems like it is promising cuz at last, i can now make game recordings with audio.
Second. App launching improvements... I think that i cant feel it.
Just noticed about the screenlock. It doesnt animate anymore when you boot up your phone. That's a plus for me.
Just a note. This version isnt available at firmware finder for unknown reason.

Is it the same changelog from my attachment? If it is, that's good news.

186 was last march, 2 months ago which is also for dg from emui 9. Im currently at 138 which is last april and there is a new update for L21 which is 139. You might want to check firmware finder just to be sure that your device is following in the update.
How to use it?

Good evening, I'm a little lost.I repaired a screen of a 9 lite honor that fell. But still black screen. I made several manipulations.
The screen worked. In reality, it is the software that is damaged. at startup the screen flickers twice on honor and it disappears.
To be fast. I'm not watching the current firmware. I made the update. Currently I am in 8.0.0.144 (C432). unable to recover the official firmware for repaired the honor. I can not find anything on the subject. Can you guide me? Please.
