Is there full bootloader unlock/root available for the ATT S5? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 5

Broke my bootloader unlocked/rooted/CM Verizon S5 last night and looking to replace it after work today.
Apparently the S6 and S6 Edge are not bootloader unlockable so I guess I'm just sticking to S5 but the only one I've found so far is an ATT and I'm not finding much info about it. Are there any working unlock/root methods, and if so, do they require certain version/firmwares?
Thanks,

No there is not ....

[Q] Galaxy S5 VS. Galaxy s5 active

I recently purchased the GS5 active and was wondering will there be a new phone thread created specifically for this model or will the GS5 ATT thread work with the active as well. I know of some minor differences manly the fingerprint scanner and the extra shortcut button on the side. Will that affect me from putting roms on that are meant for the s5. Of course this is all theoretical as of now but if anyone could give me a little insight that would be very much appreciated.
I think they will make a new Phone thread for the Active. I hope we get root when the S5 gets root.
My Active (Camo) will be here tomorrow.
Coolest phone ever!!!

Same It looks amazing I just wish they made the back metal. Such a bad move on ATT to lock the boot loader. Its seems futile at this point people are going to root and mod there phones at this point no matter what.

Hi. IF you have not rooted your S5 Active yet, I can confirm that Towelroot is able to root the device. My ATT S5 Active in Camo is rooted using Towelroot. However, I cannot confirm if the new custom ROMS that work on the S5 will work on the S5 Active. Still looking for for a custom ROM to bring back the Stock Car Mode and the Voice Controls.

Ya thank you I wouldn't recommend to try them I recently tried flashing the download booster it soft broke my phone and there is now was to fix it at the moment except to send it back to samsung or waiting for the firmware to come out. Also the Gs5 active usies a dif. firmware "sm-g870a" which I learnt the hard way while trying to use the fix for the att version.
This is an example of why you don't buy the special versions of a phone if you plan on doing anything custom with it because usually the original gets the most attention. No need for all the other versions, anyway. Just buy a case and a good screen protector and you have an active. Pointless versions.

This is why you read through ALL the threads in the AT&T S5 section before trying to flash **** LOL. If he had read he would know we can't flash things on S5's yet. Way to go! You must be trying to get yourself a nice paperweight man.

Happy new member of the S5 Active club.
Have owned/used most all of the last two years of flagship phones and I really like how this one sits in my hand. If only HTC would figure out that their camera still sucks I'd likely have the M8.
Will see how it holds up but I do feel it's a better combination than phone and case in terms of feel. I'm sure the corners will get beaten up and it'll show other wear a case would usually protect but going to give it a go with this one. The chrome wore off my S4 even with a case so who knows what this will bring.
BTW, YAY REDish (I'm a guy, we only see like 8 colors)

Hey no need for that we all make mistakes once in a while I was excited and I wasn't thinking. Also I didn't flash a rom I meant to say I used the gs5 toolkit to get rid of bloatware...
Dont worry about that dude, at least you learned, and thats what XDA is all about But as excited as you (we all) get, you have to READ READ READ like theres no tomorrow! because as that guy stated, you dont want to end up with a $650 paper weight, no phone and still pay att for their "service" lol and be patient, enjoy the stock phone for now, because once the gates open up when the firmware is released, you're going to have all kinds of fun!

I have used the Tool Kit, (worked perfectly) I have rooted, Installed SS, phone is sick now and running great. I also flashed a T-Mobile ROM, an International ROM, both work and is fine. The Active can do all of those things with only losing your extra button function. I am now back to my Stock rooted firmware but its all good. I will be waiting on a Active Forum and DEV work there. So far, everything is okay flashing regular s 5 stuff.
You flashed a T-Mobile rom?

I read and saw that you said that you flashed a T-Mobile rom... Did Wi-Fi calling work? I'm using my s5 active unlocked on T-Mobile now and until there's a way to unlock the aws bands like they did on the S4 active(hopefully they will) I'll be stuck with edge until the network refarm is complete. I'm definitely interested in seeing how you did that.

Sorry, the WiFi Calling did not work. I think only T-Mobile sims for that. We have our own ROM for the active now so I have stopped flashing different ROMs.

[Q] att s4 active move to verizon

Sorry if this has been answered in other posts but I have not been able to find anything specific to the ACTIVE. I have recently been given an S4 Active sgh-i537 from a friend. This S4 is on ATT and I am on Verizon. Is there a way to move it over. I have searched unlocking it and that seems to involve sending my imei number and $39.99 to some place over seas to get an "unlock code" but I don't trust that. The S4 is currently on 4.2.2. Not sure if I root it and install a new rom if that will allow me to move it over to verizon or not. Can someone out there please let me know if this is possible with this phone.

The S4 Active is a GSM phone and will not work on CDMA networks. Only Verizon branded phones or phones that specifically say they work on the Verizon network will work. Verizon and Sprint are the only 2 CDMA networks in the world and require special phones.
thanks
Thats what I was looking for.. Thanks

[Q] Cyanogenmod on the AT&T qS6 Edge

I'm a beginner programmer who jumped on the hype and bought the S6 Edge from AT&T as an upgrade from the N5. I loved the speedy updates the N5 got, I love the S6 edge design. So I would like to suggest and ask for guidance in order to port cyanogenmod to the S6 Edge! If anyone would like to help or guide me through this process, please do! Previous experience with compilation is Openwrt for my router so I'm somewhat familiar with the build process and debugging.
Any thoughts, comments, help?
Thanks!

You will need a custom recovery before you'll be able to do much of anything. If your Edge is AT&T branded, you might be waiting a long time for this given all recent Samsung/AT&T devices have shipped with a locked bootloader. The note 4 was released 5 or so months ago and is still waiting for a bootloader unlock and custom recovery.
My .02 - return the AT&T device and try to get your hands on a T-Mobile version. Of course this will require you to pay an additional fee to unlock it for use on AT&Ts network. Hardware wise they are identical and the T-mob version is already rooted. (though no custom recovery quite yet that I'm aware of)

Be aware that the T-mobile variant is not able to be unlocked yet. There are problems that we are experiencing. About 10 of us cannot get the unlock code to work. The supplier is currently looking for a fix.

swithing phones

I Have an Att Galaxy s4 !337 with a loki exploit. I am looking to upgrade and tmobile works good in my area. Do they lock their bootloaders?. Sorry if this question has bee asked before, I just couldn't find a direct answer. Any help would be greatly appreciated. FYI, Do not call tmobile. They all act like they have never heard a bootloader before.
No the bootloader isn't locked on the tmobile note 4.
Here's a thread about people using it on att:

Root? This can't be possible?

I'm new so I can't post links but the first one is on a website called Android geeks and I found it after searching att s6 edge root. The other one is on a website called tech chomps. Hopefully they can be found...
Found some website claiming to have hacked kernels capable of root in my annual scouring of the web praying that I can regain control of my phone...should I have hope in this?
Just thought id share my finding here, for anyone passing by please exercise caution when browsing these sites, I know nothing about them and just found them. I am hoping someone on here can drop in about the legitimacy of these sites before I test them.
I haven't heard of those but am doubtful there is root unless it's for devices that are on old software. I just got an s6 edge thats on 6.0.1, no root.
If you want root, don't buy ATT devices. Most T-Mobile devices work on ATT network (with LTE and all), and have unlocked bootloaders allowing root. That is my understanding at least and my experience with the Note 4.

Will a root ever be possible? I'm new to this and is there no chance that I will be able to root my 6.0.1 att s6 edge?

To be honest, I don't know, but I would say odds are better that you wont get root than that you will.
