Hello guyz,
I have a spice android one 1st gen device using for 1.5 yrs. It is rooted and having TWRP recovery and was using stock marshmallow rom. Yesterday I tried to reinstall stock rom (marshmallow) using the following link.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/cr...-general/ota-android-one-marshmallow-t3225311
I took the backup of my present rom and then flashed but I skipped rooting (mistakenly). It flashed successfully but now I cant boot into recovery, whenever I try it shows me this image.

Hi,
You've just flashed the MM stock rom via twrp, but you forgot to uncheck mount system readonly on twrp mount settings, that's why stock recovery been replaced with twrp.
The pic you've posted is of stock recovery, now you've stock rom with stock recovery installed, if you wanna flash twrp / root, then just download this tool , -then follow steps, unlock bootloader and flash custom recovery like twrp /Philz.

GRETTINGZ SACHIN
I read ur instructionz that accompanied ur (ONE SPROUT TOOL KIT), & while abhay.ja said that it worked 4 him I am still confused as 2 just how it worked 4 him? Bcuz in ur instructionz, the 2nd line is: (*Reboot to your custom recovery of choice. (I recommend TWRP). And therein liez the problem! Not being able 2 boot into custom recovery waz the initial problem from the start. And I didn't read anywhere in ur instructionz just how one is supposed 2 get around (MM) 2 boot into custom recovery 2 b able 2 flash ur update file? So could plz elaborate on just how one goez about doing that? I think I & a lot of other people would most certainly be most appreciative. Thank u sachin.

You're not supposed to clear /system.Anyway, Looking at your screenshots seems like you've lost recovery.
So flash CWM recovery through fastboot [ here is the Link]
Then flash any custom rom upon that.
If the above solution doesnt work out, then Flash lollipop from SP Flash tool [ LINK ] .Make sure you read flashing instructions properly this time.
Hope it works! Cheers!
When I choose fastboot .. Fastboot mode gets hanged.. Please find the attachment

Its not hanged. Keeping your phone in FASTBOOT MODE ( which you did in that screenshot ) , then through your PC you have to flash recovery(following the link for flashing CWM recovery). If this process seems to be complicated, try alternative soln i.e, Flash Stock ROM via SP Flash Tool.

ok!
Ok so did you successfully unlock the bootloader?
I mean is there a "OEM Unlocked" message appearing while booting up the phone?
flash a stock rom and everything will be back as it was. dont worry its very hard to brick a mtk device
it seems like you have no idea what you are doing, so no wonder you end up breaking your phone. next time read the instructions carefully and then watch a youtube video before doing it. actually watching a video is better than reading.

Dont worry, flash ur device with stock rom, its very easy. Follow the link bellow to download stock rom.

After flashing u will loose ur imei no.Follow the link below to solve the issue :

Flash userdata.img using fastboot and mounting data error will go. Similarly flash system.img and other images using fastboot commands and your device will run as usual. All img's will be in stock firmware ( sp tools flashable). Of you can directly flash your mobile through sp flash tools and ur device will be up and running. You may loose your imei but it can be easily fixed.

is it solved? please update OP
i think the best for you is flash stock kitkat using SP flashtools it is very easy and it will fix everything so no tension :good:
After unlocking bootloader you have to wipe userdata with the command
Code:
fastboot -w
You probably forgot to do that
Hello everyone
I believe many people cannot wait to use the latest Android N Preview on their Nexus devices, but found out that root still isn't available. The first root method appears HERE, done by @phhusson.
If people wanted to use SuperSU for some reason, I created this small flashable zip.
Based on nearly the same thoughts but combined with @Chainfire systemless method, this root is also done by setting SELinux to PERMISSIVE.
SuperSU-v2.68-Android-N (fixed)
The zip comes with aroma installer, so you can choose your device within the menu.
Instructions:
(TWRP is working and you're not encrypted) Flash the zip with TWRP directly
(Your device is encrypted, and want to stay encrypted) TWRP will enter a loop. Wait for a while and it will boot eventually, then use adb sideload to flash the zip.
(Your device is encrypted, and you want to decrypt, or TWRP is not working for you) Extract the zip, flash the boot.img for your device through fastboot, then revert to stock recovery. Then do a "Factory Reset" to wipe everything. Now you are decrypted can use TWRP normally.
Features:
Supports Nexus 9, 6P, 6, and 5X
Disabled force-encryption (encrypted users can still use it with no problems)
BusyBox is pre-installed as well.
Tested on my Nexus 9, Screenshot:

Would you report what models are you using? I'll check if things are messed up. For me on the Nexus 9 it's working good.
You need to rewrite your aroma script, it flashes all of the kernels right after another so the selection doesn't work right. It just causes it not to boot. I edited out everything except for the Nexus 6p from the script and got it to work fine for me.

If you tried rooting you ZE550KL then you must tried unlocking your device using official unlocker tool and you may faced force close. So here is how to root you asus ZE550KL without unlocking bootloader..
Prerequisite:
Download Latest TWRP from twrp.me Download
Download latest SuperSu Binary Download
Install Adb drivers and proper setup adb and fastboot. If you dont know how search on Google.
Lil Presence of mind
Lets start...
1- Connect your phone and type these command.
Code:
adb devices
and if it shows your device then issue this command after that
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
your device will reboot in bootloader.
2- Go to the directory where you placed downloaded twrp.img. Open command prompt here (shift + right click).
3- Flash the downloaded recovery
Code:
fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
4- When it said "finished" and there is no error. Then type this and press volume - (down) before screen lit up.
Code:
fastboot reboot
5- If you did correctly then you will see the TWRP logo.
6- If not let device boot and when it finished boot type these commands
Code:
adb reboot recovery
7- When twrp boots first step is to make a full backup of all.
8- Then copy Update-SuperSu-*-*.zip to your sd card or internal memory via MTP (available when twrp boots n phone connected with pc). Flash it.
9- If twrp ask for su binary update say no. and reboot
10- Boom you're rooted!!
Screenshots: (Unfortunately I cant record so i am atleast giving ss)

But the unlocker didn't work. Ocurred the problem described in this post.

Flashing any non-stock .img or zip requires unlocked bootloader. This guide will never work. It seems this guy made two accounts, one for writing the guide and one for posting that it worked. The OP is just trying to fool people, or may be he himself got fooled by somebody and he posted that guide here. Mods, This thread should be deleted.
Edit : Sorry for updating too late. This method works on locked bootloader. The img files are provided by a genius shakalaka. They are patched to match Asus signed img files. Thanks for writing this useful thread
Also confirmed working on ZE-551KL on my phone and my wife's phone!
Thank You!
Please most definitely follow this step: 4- When it said "finished" and there is no error. Then type this and press volume - (down) before screen lit up.
Code:
fastboot reboot
Definitely do the "Press volume down button" right after you hit (Enter)
This was sticking point because I didn't read carefully....

Hello sir can u make avideo iam urgent for root please
No idea how this works
I have no idea how, but it worked! I (mostly) agree with sziraqui that flashing a recovery image with the device locked shouldn't work: I tried it before and the device would not load the bootloader after flashing, forcing me to re-flash the stock bootloader.
As mentioned by the OP, after flashing the marshmallow firmware (UL-Z00L-WW-21.40.1220.1708-user.zip) the unlock app crashed when unlocking. After that, I tried to flash TWRP and to my surprise it DID work! I also managed to flash supersu and test it with TitaniumBackup.
Since I would be skeptic myself, I'm attaching a picture that show's twrp and my terminal showing the that the bootloader reports as being locked.

0x01 Unlock Bootloader
Input the command to reboot to download mode.
Code:

Download mode is same as fastboot in bootloader on old devices, so you must to do UNLOCK, FLASH or RUU in download mode.
Go to HTCdev website to unlock bootloader, you can search many guides on Google.
0x02 Flash TWRP Recovery
TWRP 3.0.2-0
Reboot to download mode and flash recovery.
Code:
adb reboot download
fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.0.2-0-e56ml.img
After flash recovery, reboot to bootloader then BOOT TO RECOVERY MODE.
0x03 Format Data
Wipe -> Format Data -> type yes to format data
Please reboot to recovery after formatting.
0x04 Install SuperSU
Please download SuperSU v2.78, i've test this version and work like a charm.
Before flashing su, please ensure that BOOT image is stock.
Looks good. Have to questions: Will that also work for the DualSim version?
Is the TWRP not the test version, where need a password?
Thx a lot.

I have tested on dual-sim device (Taiwanese model) but single-sim devices, need volunteer to test it.
In this situation TWRP will request password, stock BOOT and boot into android once, in the meanwhile userdata will be encrypted.
BUT you won't do nothing if you flash TWRP, just format the userdata and install SuperSU, encryption doesn't matter anymore.
OK thx. So, you tried it with the DualSim version. That's great. But I don't know how to stock Boot and boot into Android? Can you help me with that? Thx a lot.

One of the best How-To's I have seen posted on this site in a long time - great work!
Do I have to root before I upgrade to the latest Android? 2.18.401.3
I have tried this and as soon as I install twrp the phone is soft bricked. It does not even start if I reinstall stock recovery.
Edit:
I tried again but this time I skipped this part:
0x03 Format Data
Wipe -> Format Data -> type yes to format data
Rooted and not soft bricked.
hello, when I wrote adb devices, it show for me 2 devices, one is htc and one is emulator, so how I can choose my device htc ?
please advice.
Now I use magisk.
I downgraded my phone to 2.17.401.1 (with RUU) and then updated via ota to 2.23.401.1.
Then installed TWRP. From there I installed all three files from the links in the magisk section. Booted into recovery and installed the two zip-files, this time I had to format data to be able to install.
When booted I installed magisk manager from my download directory and Phils superuser app from play store.
Checked root with Root checker to confirm.

You need to mount "system" at the TWRP before starting to flash.
The button "Mount" is in the main menu in TWRP.
