Best Note 7 ROM for Canadian Note 4 N910W8 - Galaxy Note 4 General

So many ROMs for other variants of the Note 4 but I don't see anything specifically for the Canadian variant - the N910W8. Can anyone here please help me wade through all these releases?
Many thanks!

We Canadians do have a thread for anything for the N910W8 Its below. You may want to ask in here and see what others recommend. But honestly I have tried Norma and Aurora for the most part and they work decent, Just need a data fix.

[Help] Is the rom or n70000 compatible with shv-e1605 note?

HI,
I have purchased a Samsung Galaxy Note 46 LTE (shv-e1605). May I know if the rom of N7000 is compatible with this device? If not is there someone there who knew a rom that can remove the 80 character limit of this Note.
God bless!
Thanks,
Thomie
If it's a LTE Note with SnapDragon processor, then nothing from this forum can be
used for your phone. No Roms, no themes, no mods, nothing.
However, this is where you might have a look:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1496
Thanks,
I will check on this.
That's a Korean note, the link you gave him is not going to help him.
OP, you have to go to the korean note pages and they have roms there but it is all in Korean so I haven't been able to figure out the pluses or minuses of them or even download them. I think you are out of luck honestly. There isn't much benefit to rooting anymore anyway. Only for themes really. 90% of these roms are so flawed and annoying it's not worth the hassle.
Good luck though, i haven't been able to get much hacking support for my Korean note up to this point, maybe you'll have better luck!

Best Note 5 Model for modding?

hi fellow XDA peeps,
Please don't bash me... i did some research but still need a bit of advice....
I am interested in purchasing a Note 5, can someone tell me which version/model of the Note 5 is the best for modding and would most likely be the one with lots of custom roms?
I know it might be a bit early to say this but, I'm hoping that you guys can still give me some advice. I did some research and saw that there is a custom rom or two out right now, especially here on XDA but, i noticed this is specifically for the N920 I/C/G. : http://forum.xda-developers.com/note5/development/n920i-dr-ketan-rom-l1-t3195076
Also, I read that the T-Mobile version comes with an unlocked bootloader. Does the other models come with an unlocked bootloader as well?
I would greatly appreciate your help guys and any other advice concerning Note 5 versions/models, modding, custom roms, unlocked/unlocking bootloaders is most welcomed.
sooooooooo......
1) best version/model for modding and most likely to have most custom roms?
2) which version/model comes with unlocked bootloader/s?
Many thanks in advance,
Ronald

"Best for modding" is irrelevant if you can't use the phone for voice/data. So, why not start with telling us where you're physically located and what carrier you have. That may significantly limit your choices.

thx buddy.
I'm located in the Caribbean, we have blazing 4G networks and excellent voice/data services. My present carrier is Digicel but we also have Bmobile (TSTT) here.
I ask "best for modding" because I'm big on installing custom Roms and having full access to the device and what it could do. I could be wrong, but from my understanding devices with unlocked bootloaders are the preferred choices for developers to work on, mod, etc.
thx,
Ronald
Here's the best I can offer you:
Head to this website: http://www.willmyphonework.net/
The following devices have more support on XDA than the others: n920t (tmobile - but they come sim-locked), n920i, n920c. Find the device that works best with your carrier. Eliminate the tmobile choice if needed due to it being sim-locked.

garyd9......WOW! EXCELLENT site for checking device network compatibility>>>>WOW!
thanks a million buddy...after all the research i did, i too came up with exactly what you said above........thanks again....cleared up things a lot. Guess i was on the right track, i have an unlocked n920t, n920i and a n920c in my ebay cart. However, i checked and ALL of them resulted in a (X) by the 4G symbol.... ................... All those models will work fine up to 3G network here though not sure if our 4G network is really 4G....lol....long story
if its not too much though, which would you go with?
thx,
Ronald

Quite honestly, I'd do my homework and whatever google searching required to find out which LTE bands are supported by the carrier or carriers I use. Then I'd make sure that whichever model I got supported those LTE bands.
Quite often, a carrier might still be rolling out support for an LTE band and it doesn't show on that site I linked to. For example, AT&T in the US is rolling out LTE bands 5, 29 and 30 in some regions, but that site knows nothing about them.... (I can excuse band 29 because it's used for downlink only, and band 30 because they JUST started rolling that out in very few areas.)

nice nice, thanks for the heads up....this what our networks here runs on:
http://roamtheworldcellphones.com/gsmtrinidadandtobago
http://www.gsmarena.com/network-bands.php3
But, the issue is not really the band/s though, its the version that most likely developers would choose to work on and have lots of custom Roms/developments? whatever model that may be, that is the model i would i like to buy. For now it seems like if i can't obtain an unlocked N920T then the next best variant should be the N920I, then N920C. Correct me if I'm wrong in anyway please..lol
again, many thanks for such informative advice and for taking the time to reply.......thx buddy

At this instant in time, the 't' seems to have the most attention. The 'i' and 'c' are mixed... I wouldn't be willing to say either gets more attention than the other.

Figured so, I think I just might get the N920I, just to be safe...lol
In my experience with rooting, installing custom roms etc. I noticed that most international models are the preferred choice for developers to work on, plus, updates are much faster ..... again, correct me if I'm wrong....lol

[SM-N920R4] Anyone want to port a ROM For us? [Will Donate]

As the title implies, I would be more than willing to donate my phone (to use, not keep!) so one of you great devs can port a ROM For the US Cellular variant of the Note 5. It seems development is always lacking for our phones. I've already rooted it, just hoping to see some awesome custom ROMS / Kernels. If you are a developer and feel generous, please feel free to pm me or respond to this thread. Thanks.
BUMP
Willing to donate my phone + some monetary incentive to any devs willing to port a good rom. I'm a custom ROM addict, just the US Cellular variant Note 5 is lacking in development as usual

I think the reason no one's building roms for certain variants of the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is because of the Exynos cpu.. Apparently it has to many bugs on CyanogenMod that aren't able to be fixed easily.. What cpu does yours have?

It's got the Exynos 7420. I know the s7 has the quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon, (at least here in the US) but honestly the reason I held onto my Note 5 is because I like the Exynos 8 core processor. I'm sure eventually some devs will work out the bugs and start development. It's just a matter of time. I remember it took quite a while for custom ROMS to start showing up for my US Cellular S3.

I'm willing to give it a shot since you've already got root.. I just have to find the correct source code so I'll look around and see if I can find anything on github and Google and talk to a few of my dev friends and try to get it going on my nix box.

Chances are very good that it is going to be a very long time until you have custom roms on TMOBILE for the Note 7 - don't know for sure but very good likelihood that the NOte 7 is going to have a locked bootloader which makes ROOTING extremely difficult - and no custom kernels at all - I hope I am wrong, but just look at the S7 and S7 Edge - both were locked - most likely the NOte 7 will be too -
I hope not - but pretty sure that will be the case.
Give the phone some time to actually get to its release day...geez.

Custom ROM, anybody willing to sponsor a developer?

Reading this forum it seems most of us desire a custom ROM for the Note 10 Lite but developers don't seem to be interested.
This is of course their prerogative, but if there is enough support perhaps we can persuade somebody to work on it for us since our group skill set seems to be limited to rooting (which is still a great achievement).
I, for one, would be happy to contribute funds towards the development of a custom ROM along the lines of LineageOS (or otherwise) currently available for the Note 10 and Note 10+.
Obviously the reason many of us chose this phone was due to the lower price and so we can't be expected to pay top dollar individually. But if there is enough interest from enough people in this group maybe our combined funds could persuade a developer to work on a custom ROM for us.
1. Anybody else willing to contribute?
2. Anybody know a developer that way inclined?
3. Ideas on a ballpark figure?

Ahh right I didn't realise you were working on it! I wondered what that screenshot was about in the other thread...
Thanks for working on this. I'm sure that you will receive donations from the many grateful users here on this forum. Godspeed.
A friend of mine that is a developer is working on things. Screen shot was me testing what he has so far.

Sure, well it'll be your friend that receives the donations then! Maybe he'll buy you a beer...
Keep us in the loop with the development.
Cheers!
Just to add on, I'd be another one of those people who'd be willing to drop a donation when it comes out!
Cheers, mate

Hi any news around the world about a new ROM?
Thinking about changing for another phone more customisable.
The developer I was in contact with has moved on to another device. Not sure if he will be doing anything. He is also very busy with family and work. Wish I had more info. I did speak with him recently but it was about another device..sorry.

So, let me clarify stuff for you guys.
It won't be possible (for now) to port anything to note10 lite since samsung added vbmeta blocks on almost all partitions in n10l.
That being said, it's impossible to have twrp or any custom rom until samsung removes those blocks.
Keep waiting, maybe someday that will be possible, but it's not for now.
DEX or HDMI support, is the most important feature for a DEVELOPER TO CREATE FOR NOTE 10LITE!Hardware wise is capable, but SOFTWARE is not permitting this feature. I hope that a DEVELOPER will be so kind to HELP on that!!!
And propably a valid twrp version to flash it!
