has anyone got a good solution so I can VNC or remote access in some manner a remix mini?
Have you tried TeamViewer?
I use TeamViewer to remote support my family. Either from computer to computer or from my mobile to their computer.
Apparently it can work in the other direction too.
(I have not tried this yet)
Check this out:
https://www.teamviewer.com/en/help/341-how-can-i-control-my-android-device-with-teamviewer
teamviewer doesn't work on the Remix mini. It only allows viewing not control
Hmm.. sadly most remote control desktop apps need root access
the only one...not? VMLite VNC Server
But its not cheap or easy as it needs a PC ( I do wonder if it works on Remix mini)

it does work but you have to connect to the remix mini via USB every time you want to use it

the best app on the market. use your pc from your phone.
using it right now to post this. love it.
using ultravnc with windows 7 x64. great app.
While there are better remote desktop protocols, vnc is still good.
It's free too. Which is saying something in comparison to the iphone which charges 25$ for the app.
I am willing to pay for it, but not that much.
Awesome, I just got it to work with Tightvnc.
I got androidVNC working with an Asus EEE 900 using KDE desktop sharing. It seems to work really well. And I also used wifi tether and it works as well. I also tried enabling the built-in webcam but the video feed is way slow.
Awesome App
androivnc is an awesome app. I use it with my Windows Home Server and so i can look on my homeserver from everywhere.

Are you running Xandros on your EEE or another distro? I would like to get this set up but I'm running Easy Peasy, will KDE desktop sharing work still?
Edit: Nvm

Froggy, I am using default xandros in easymode. You dont have to install vnc or anything. The KDE remote desktop sharing comes preinstalled in xandros. You just have to open up a terminal and type in
Code:
/home/user>kfrb
to start up the desktop sharing. and if you have androidVNC installed on the g1 you can connect to the eee very easily. my network is setup as wifi tether and i have also tried having both the eee and the g1 on a wireless access point on my network. I havent tried connecting over the internet but i pretty sure it will work.
UltraVNC
I am currently using UltraVNC (WINVNC).
This is pretty slow. Sweet. But slow. I was wondering if anyone has tried multiple servers to benchmark speed.
Or i'm at least trying to identify if one is faster than the other.
Thanks all.
Does it work with RealVNC?
Thanks
I'm not really sure how VPN works, but I managed to get access to my Windows 7 PC using an app from the market and RealVPN.
I'm just curious if I can do it the other way around. Access my N1 from my computer using OpenVPN (which from my understanding is included in CM)?
Any help would be awesome :-]
Do you mean that you installed RealVNC on your windows machine? It sounds like you're asking about vnc and not vpn.
i think he means VNC
No problem, if your Nexus One is rooted, simply download "droid VNC serve" from Market, it's free, and it starts a VNC server on your phone so you can connect to it on your laptop.
If like me you leave your phone in another part of the house/building or forget to take it with you, then this app is for you.
Remote phone access
Remotely Control Your Phone from Computer
RemotePhoneAccess is a reliable application providing fast and secure remote access to your Android smartphone. It uses the latest technology of google C2DM (Cloud to Device Messaging). The app doesn't poll to any server avoiding extra battery usage.
Simply install the app from the market on your phone login with your google account and activate privelidges.
From your browser on tablet/computer visit www.remotephoneaccess.com
login using same google account
goto android management
and click update.
You now have access to your phone. Pay the extra few dollars and you can also send sms using your phones plan.
Works good... I will try paid option in few days...
Nice app, now I can forget my phone athome and still be able to use it (limited, no voice, but hey, better than nothing!!!!)
Xoomed with my Motorola
Just downloaded on Photon CM9 ICS ROM, will report back after some use.
MoPhoACTV Initiative
Just so you guys think about this: privacy-wise this is a huge red flag.
Administrator rights on your phone with remote access through a web app.
The app devs don't have any kind of privacy policy posted.
C2dm if badly coded can be a privacy nightmare.
does any one knows an Android app which provides mobile to mobile remote access same like pc to pc by teamviewer?

I use DroidMote server on my Xoom and connect to it with the client. Works fine as a remote but I don't think it does remote screen access.
Search the Market for a VNC server app. I'm sure there will be one. You'd then be able to connect via any VNC client. Probably need root though.
yes, you can try our new app, VMLite VNC Server, it allows you to fully control and view your phone from a PC, so you can use external keyboard and mouse to become more productive. It works on all android devices, from Eclair to Jelly Bean, rooting is NOT required.

so far, it works on many different models of android devices, rooting is not required.

Can it be ROM related ? on my phone the server can't use wifi connection, and sets the IP of the server on my 3G provider one which not very useful, and generally doesn't work for me.
I'd like to have my phone screen on my tablet or my computer
There might be a bug for our app to report the wifi ip address, we are fixing this. For the time being, you can do one of these:
(1) find the wifi ip address from settings, and you can connect to this ip address instead of the one reported by vmlite vnc server app
(2) use USB connection, from VMLite Android App Controller, click USB Connect button
(3) reverse connection, run tight vnc viewer in listening mode, then start vnc server in reverse mode, so the server will connect to the client

First solution worked great thks !
Question: How does one use Samsung Dex to connect Galazy Tab S8 to the PC like one does with the Samsung phones.
Objective is to make the office laptop redundant and do most of the work on the Tab and then synchronize the tab data to the laptop (Files etc..) so that the same can be put on the office NAS.
Further, is there any way files / data form the laptop can be accessed via the Samsung phones / tab so that the need for carrying the office Laptop is eliminated.
You can access files on your pc via smb and a supported file manager. The default file manager on tab s8 has a network manager option, just set the ip and it will connect to your smb share folder.
You can access files remotely via vpn if you are away from office/home.
Thanks Vangry. I tried the above, but was unable to connect to share folder of PC. Was able to connect the shared folder from another PC but not from the Tablet. Also tried Android SMB client like AndSMB.
The company IT team also tried and we used our office Linux machines to check SMB connects which worked but not the Tablet.

Try FX file manager app from playstore. No issues connecting to Windows 11 PC via smb.
