[Q] How to switch or select band in sony xperia for LTE connection?

I have two ENodeBs one for band 4 another for band 17. My sony xperia is always connected to band 17 ENodeB, when both ENodeB are active. But it get connected to band 4 ENodeB when only Band 4 ENodeB is active. I want to select the band in sony so that it always connected to Band 4 ENodeB.

I don't think it's possible, hence it's pretty sure it's managed from backend systems. Probably on RNC or MSC level in the network. *#*#4636#*#* give options under phone information, but that's not band related on frequency/carrier level on same type of RAT

Tmobile band 2, 4, and 12

Recently Tmobile deployed band 12 where I live. Since band 12 is running my phone Nexus 6 of course wants to stay connected to band 12 while I'm near the towers that have band 4 also and not connect to band 4. When I'm near a tower with band 2 my phone connected to band 2 no problem. Band 2 and band 4 are 10×10 mhz in my area and band 12 is only 5×5 mhz.
With this being said I would like to know if there is a way to change the build.prop or something to have my phone search for band 4 when I'm near those towers rather than defaulting and going to band 12?
Thanks to those who reply with knowledge if this is possible.

Did u buy phone from particular carrier or was it international carrier unlocked version?
As for z1 international, it supports pretty much every band out there http://m.gsmarena.com/sony_xperia_z1-5596.php
I've used it in USA (lte works), India and Dubai.
I can't understand what's in the link for sim card but just search for the carrier and bands supported by carrier in Google.
As for lte we can't be sure since there is no set standard.

It depends what z1 you have bought. Since you bought it in the UK it should be a C6903.
If theses specs from gsm arena are correct than you can't use LTE band 21 since it isn't supported by C6903.
Maybe it doesn't matter because it depends how much the net provider uses band 21. There are 2 other bands mentioned.
For example here in Germany the net provider use 3 different lte bands but not every provider uses every band.

Ok, cheers for the reply. I'm just gonna go ahead an buy it and hope for the best. If it doesn't work it's not a big deal, only £20. No contract or anything.

Unlocking band 40 in Nexus 6 XT1103?

Has any enabling band 40 in XT1103 version? In my current city (bangalore) on my current network provider(Airtel) I need to enable band 40 to connect to LTE. Has anyone had a chance to try this out?
Both models of the nexus don't support band 40, so I would say not possible

Nokia 8 LTE band choice

Hi there
I use my Nokia 8 on Telstra in Australia, and Telstra operates on LTE bands 3 (1800 MHz), 7 (2600 MHz) and 28 (700 MHz).
However, I notice it would often move onto band 7, despite it being the weakest band in the area, as shown in the attachment.
Any ideas why this happens? Is there any way to fix it?
