Have you checked your local huawei downloads page? and, are you still on kitkat? the better way is install Lollipop first, then the b561. is the update.app a full version? if its the update.zip which is smaller, it will not work.

I am running the official Samsung JB 4.1.2
and every couple of weeks i get a reminder to run a Software Update (37.22 MB)
All it says is "Improved stability"
When i install it it seems to go ok but after it reboots the phone says "Failed to update firmware, try again using PC software (Kies) or visit a samsung service centre"
I then get another reminder approx a couple of weeks later to install it again. This has been going on now for a couple of months.
anyone know why this update wont install.
Are you rooted with a custom kernel? If yes then you can't install OTA. Kies will help you update easily.

no not rooted , just plain old official software.
Ill try Kies though! cheers
I am not sure why it is happening with but i am not able to install 5.0.1 (12 MB) update on my Moto X 2014. I have unlocked bootloader and phone is rooted running on 5.0 Lollipop firmware.
Baseband Version:
MSM8974BP_4125.184.08.27.01R
VICTARA_EMEA_CUST
System Version
22.21.19.victara_reteu.retailuall.en.EU retin
It downloads the update file.
Reboot the device.
Goes into recovery and show me that it's installing the update. Half way on the progress bar the phone reboots.
After booting I see message which tells me that System update installation is failed. It does not give an error message or reason.
I tried installing it multiple times but same results. Any help will be appreciated.
To add Motorola Device Software updater shows me that my firmware doesn't have any available updates. Whereas i am getting regular notifications to run system update.
I attached screenshot of Motorola Device Software updater.
You should be happy, i had exact same config, and had soft brick when trying to upgrade. I believe you can't do the update if you are rooted. So you must flash stock back and then update.

My phone keeps displaying that i have pending system update. What is the right way to get the update without bricking your phone?
After your update i am not going to try any workaround methods to force upgrade. But this is something that should be well explained by Motorola or Android community somewhere on internet. I think need to wait till the time more helpful resources are available.

i think just flashing back the stock system partition using fastbot should do it. I haven't done this myself though, i needed to completely reflash stock

I am facing the exact same problem.
I am currently on 22.21.19.victara_reteu.retailuall.en.EU and the update notification I am getting is for 22.121.1
I have an unlocked bootloader but the phone is not rooted.
I do not agree that OTA update doesn't work when phone has an unlocked bootloader and is rooted. The Android 5.0 update got installed on my phone when it was already rooted (I lost root access after the update).
Still looking for solution for "OTA installation failed" problem though...

So far My 5.0.1 update never got downloaded and i was not able to update the phone using Motorola update. Therefore i flashed Cyanogenmod 12.1 which has latest Android build. This way i stopped annoying alerts of system update on my phone.
Straight to the point, has anyone successfully updated to B382?
I've tried via FirmwareFinder, it downloads successfully, but during install it says Unauthorised, removes files, and remains the same.
Trying via the dload/sdcard method, and it gives an error @ 5%, and then prompts to reboot the phone.
Have tried going from B190/202/362/370 but no luck each time. Tried with bootloader unlocked & locked, have since done a factory reset once on 370, and still no progress.
Will remain on B370 for now, B382 appears to only be a security patch, but it would be nice to have the peace of mind being on the latest (for Huawei anyway) patch.
CAN YOU GIVE ME LINK FOR b370 ? I HAVED TO TRY WITH FIRMWARE FINDER BUT NOT WORKING, THANK YOU. and i have a same problem when update B382, i think it's a beta version .

I actually used Firmware Finder to update to B370. Although initially I was having issues getting to that as well, from B362 both via dload & FF.
Ended up rolling back to B190 (via dload), then using FF went to 362 > 370.
Here's the LINK to the update.zip anyway.

Check one of the other threads in here on how to update via FF, step by step.
You need to go back out and check for updates again. Full size is def not 5mb.
In order to update to B382 NOW, you need to unlock your bootloader and use TWRP to update it UNLESS you wait till it official launch.

Bootloader unlocked.
update.zip for B382 downloaded.
Is it as simple as flashing that zip in TWRP?
Anything else required? Anything to be aware of?
As mentioned above, I've only updated via dload & FF previously, was not aware of any other method/s.
Thanks
I didn't not tried since bit troublesome for me to backup all data etc. I rather wait for final release. You may try to google this firmware and TWRP method was highlighted. Anyway do it at your own risk.

b382 is still unofficial, if u insist on installing it try this method:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/p9-plus/how-to/easy-upgrade-to-unapproved-emui-5-update-t3649532
The firmware already approved by Huawei. Just use FF to update will do.

Hello I have a P9 EVA-L09C636B134. I live in the US.
EMUI 4.1
Android 6.0
Phone works ok, it feels slow at times. A reboot usually fixes it for a day.
I have my FIRST EVER UPDATE from the updater (B168). Should I do it? It says there are 2 patches: first one is entirely in chinese, the second one says a few things like add watermarks, fix UI issue, optimize startup, etc.
Yes. Why are you still on marshmallow? Nougat has been available since last year.

I read that the update made their phones use more battery or something. Also I don't know how to manually update, I assumed it would hit this updater thing but I never got an update off the updater. No risk to update you think? I should just do it?

OTA = Over the Air. Official update delivered by Huawei. Go to Settings > System Update and check for updates.
FirmwareFinder = App to show/browse/download available and future firmware updates on Huaweis servers. Only necessary for those who flash updates manually.
In your case go to System Update. There should be an update. Maybe you have to do this a couple of times to reach latest Nougat-Version. Good luck!

Thank you. Perhaps I did something wrong.
1) set proxy to "localhost" and port "8080"
2) my model number was there, clicked it
3) went back to check settings: settings are (show packages for current region OFF, in app proxy port 8080, use simple OFF, show only fullOTA ON)
4) clicked first package (full OTA - MF)
5) clicked in app proxy
6) go to "updater" in settings
7) updater has package, click download and install
8) error "package checksum error." (immediately, before 1% downloaded).
Is it possible I need to not update the most recent one? I am still on android 6.0, EMUI 4.1 and like I said never had any other update OTA before (never used firmware finder). Thank you!
edit: restarted the phone, the package is now gone. Maybe I should do a different package, maybe an older one, not the most recent one?

Ok thanks, I am trying the oldest build B361 from B168. The download started.
There are 19 total packages, 14 before the first VD package. Holy **** this is going to take forever!
Thank you very much for your help.
Can you explain why these dont come automatically, why I need to do this manual process? Is it because I am in the US?
Also why do I need this proxy port thing?
Thanks again!

You just need the proxy so the package goes to your updater. You can set it back to default after.

There is no option for B193. all of the packages are in the 300's.
The download finished (I think) but it could not install. It said I needed to free up some space. I uninstalled some apps and now it will not let me view the progress (I clicked new custom version, it just takes me back to my setting page). in my notification screen, it as EMU download percetnage at -930% and it is not moving. I tried restarting a few times it all stays the same. Current version still says B168.
edit: I clicked menu and then "download latest full package" and it seemed to have reset everything. Should I try this package again? To repeat, this is the oldest package on firmware finder, B361. I also noticed there are duplicates in firmware finder... and some of the packages are for L09,L19 and L29, these are all safe to download? Should I keep doing oldest 1 by 1?
Thanks again for your help, sorry I am so noob.
