I'm using Huawei p9 plus. It was great until I've updated to vie-l29c636b362. Somehow it broke my phone's internet hotspot on 5ghz band. The 2.4ghz still fine. But I'm using 5ghz all these while before the update without any issues. Now all my devices can't detect my p9 plus' 5ghz hotspot. for who updated to vie-l29c636b362 also can try, i think all people upgrade this version also face this problem. May i know how to solve this problem?

I know in the setting we have option for that but that didn't worked too!!
Anybody has same issue like me?or anybody knows what the problem is?
I'm assuming you have no problem with 2.4Ghz in the first place right?

Yes
No problem with 2.4Ghz band
My MiMax2 The same problem.
Unable to connect.
Someone can help!
I got my phone on miui 8 and it worked on 5ghz but I updated it today to miui9 and 5ghz isn't working Y all
Same issue Xiaomi MiWIF router. keep disconnecting my Mi Max 2 on 5GHZ. 2.4 is working fine.
No problem with AC68U and MIUI V9
Hello forum members.
I want to share with You My Mi5 Pro WiFi problems, hoping someone can give advice so i can use my Mi5 Pro again.
The phone's WiFi has some issues:
It scan and display all networks, but can't connect to 2.4GHz networks.
It connects and work fine with some 5GHz networks. Also connect and work fine with 5GHz hotspot networks.
Bluetooth is working fine.
MiDrop can scan, but can't connect and transfer.
Hotspot is working only on 5GHz mode. On 2.4GHz can't share or connect to other.*
What I have tried to solve the issues:
Reset the phone.
Update the phone.
Flash other MIUI.
Unlock and flash other Android.
Rooted the phone and changed the WiFi MAC address (on MIUI).
Erased and flashed the modem (NON-HLOS.bin)(on MIUI).
No changes after all my attempts.*
And also, after all My attempts, I have noticed something. When I try to connect to 2.4GHz network (unsuccessful of course) and leave the WiFi on or off (the WiFi is not connected) , the phone's battery is draining very fast. If I connect to 5GHz network (successfully), and after that turn off the WiFi,**the battery is not draining fast.
If someone have any advice, or something I can check or share more info, I'm here and waiting.*
Thanks.
PS:Correction, 5GHz is not working with any router. More specifically, it's not working with most routers.
Maybe it's hardware problem. WIFI antenas disconnected?
Maybe, bit i hope it's software.
When i remove the antennas there is no wi-fi networks even detected, or only the closest ones are shown very weakly.
I just bought the Xiaomi A2 and updated my device to Aug 18 security patch.
Then I tried to scan for wifi network using my Xioami A2. And realize that that phone can find the 2.4GHz network but can't find 5GHz network? Does anyone have the same issue? Does anyone know how to fix it?
Thanks in advance
I'm on the same patch, not having that problem, I'm seeing both 2.4 and 5GHz networks.

After the SIM card is inserted, 5GHz wifi is working. I am not sure but I worried because my original LAN network won't connect to china server well.

I think I fixed it! I fixed the apn of my sim and it started working. The phone arrived today so I didn't set it up properly. So if anyone else has the same problem you should put the sim in (if you haven't done already) and make sure the apn is configured properly.
Hi everyone,
I have a problem with my new P30 Pro. When I create a Hotspot in 5ghz frequency, no other device can find that Hotspot. If I change frequency to 2.4ghz then other devices can connect to the network. Maybe others have the same problem? Or my device is faulty ?
BTW when I'm connecting to Wi-Fi, either 2.4 or 5ghz, everything works fine
Maybe it uses a channel, that your other devices do not see. I think different regions use different wifi channel ranges. Maybe you find an option for that somewhere in advanced wifi settings.
I just tried on mine. My laptop pics up the hotspot on the P30 Pro no matter if it's 5 or 2.4GHz, no problem.

I didn't find any advanced settings regarding channel ranges / regions.
BTW my phone is C431 if it's good or not, I don't know. I remember C432 used to be the best region code, if you could say so. My P20 pro is C432.
How the problem started, I bought P30 Pro, opened phone clone app, I wanted to transfer data wirelessly from one phone to another. But devices didn't connect, tried multiple times. After that I started experimenting with 2.4 ghz or 5ghz Hotspot. And found out that other devices can't find 5ghz frequency.

My laptop sees 5ghz Hotspot, but can't connect to it. P20 Pro, honor 8, nexus 6P can't even see that. Samsung S10 can connect to 5ghz. It's very strange
EMUI 9.1.0.153 resolved the issue
Nope, it didn't. I'm still having problems - my notebook can see the hotspot, and can connect to it, but the phone just won't share the internet connection.
Bluetooth is turned on, and bluetooth tethering as well, 2.4 or 5 GHz.
I tried USB tethering. Tried apps from the store. Always the same thing - notebook can see the hotspot, but internet is not working. Any ideas? The notebook is Asus Rog G751. I'm on 9.1.0.1.178.
Same here. Laptop works on home 5ghz, but wont even see p30 pro 5ghz, its strange
Worst part is, 3 months ago it was working. Since I don't use it except when travelling, I have no idea what could have changed in the mean time.
In my case, max user connections was limited.
- press "Show advanced options"
- press "Max connections allowed"
- increase the value

Hi guys,
what network cards are your PC using?
Mine has a Killer Wireless 1535 built in and I can confirm this problem:
P30 (pro) switched to 5 GHz hotspot mode and PC cannot find it.
I think I may have found a reason for it, which needs to be resolved by a manufacturer (Huawei or a network adapter manufacturer - no idea if only Killer is affected):
The Huawei P30 (pro and normal model) seems to default the broadcast channel to channel #149 (5.745 MHz) when switched to 5 GHz hotspot mode.
This is a DFS channel in the only recently approved new upper channel range.
Apparently the killer 1535 cannot or cannot use these channels yet.
Actually it won't see it first. Then, when changing connection mode in the adapter property, it is found.
But after inserting the ssid password, access is not allowed and ssid vanishes from list.
Just like a restriction to invalid channels.
The broadcast on 5 GHz itself works, which I proved with another P30 which can access the AP of the first one.
However my notebooks (all using Killer Wireless cards) as well as a Samsung tablet can't.
So resolution could be:
1. Killer adapts its drivers or
2. Huawei defaults to a 5 GHz broadcast channel in lower, more common, 5 GHz band between ch7 and ch60 e. g.
(Or adds a user-accessible menue allowing selection of broadcast channel.)
Hello together,
I have a weird issue with my Xperia 10 (I3113 with unlocked Bootloader on 53.1.A.2.2).
At work we use Cisco ISE Sponsor Portal to provide WiFi guest access. I login using my credentials and everything works fine.
After a while I have to re-authenticate - this happens multiple times per day.
I noticed a similar issue with my WiFi at home. The phone is connected to the WiFi but has no internet access (same phenomenon as at work).
Has somebody experience a similar issue? Is this maybe related to the unlocked bootloader?
Greetings
I had wifi issues before i4193. It disconnects then reconnect itself automatically. I read some thread for xperia phones sine im unable to find any discussion specific for xperia 10. Luckily i found something saying that it underestimate the signals for dual band routers with 2.4 and 5ghz. My router at home is dual band but sharing the same ssid. I have it separated and now problem no longer exist. I can connect either to 2.4 or 5ghz signal without being disconnected. Hope this help.
Thanks for your reply.
I'm gonna try 2.4 GHz only and give feedback
