AOSP N [7.1] Cannot Access menu using menu hardkey - Lenovo A7000 Questions & Answers

Hi, i have problem using AOSP N [7.1],
im unable to access menu options for some apps using menu hardware key,
usually menu options can be accessed with tapping or hold down the menu hardware key.
i already set the button settings for the hardware key actions, but its not work.
with using software enabled option i still can get access to the menu options (there will be extra button on software keys),
but i dont like that software because my screen is getting smaller.
Pls help me with this problem..ty...
PS: im using ROM AOSP N [7.1] December patch with all the fix patch installed, but without google pixel patch, because i got stuck in "setting up android" screen.

U can install gravity box and in that u can reassign the hardware keys but u device needs to support Xposed installer I think so, when I am using 6.0.1 ghost ROM it supports the Xposed installer but I don't know whether aosp supports the Xposed or not

Lol. There is no Xposed for nougat yet.

Then there is another way in playstore we have app named keymapper which is enough to reassign any apps or actions to our hardware keys

Xposed Framework S5[SM-G900A Specific] (Working Modules)

This thread is only for the AT&T branded (SM-G900A) device.
If this is not your device, you need to go to the corresponding forum/thread. I realize there are many similarities amongst the G900 variants, but the instructions I provide- as well as the help I can give, are limited to the AT&T (SM-G900A) variant only. Even then the help I can provide is still limited.
Disclaimer:
I am not responsible if you brick, break, or blow up your phone. You assume all and any responsibility for ALL actions you commit to your phone.
1) Xposed Framework
2) WanamXposed
3) Gravity Box
---I advise caution with this, as some of the features are built into the GS5 rom.
4) Greenify
5) X Tether
6) G-TouchWiz
Will post more later!
Notes :
*See the second page on how to activate the built-in wifi tether with Wanam Xposed and X Tether.
*See the second page to help reduce performance issues.
@profcx has pointed out that the "Download Booster Mod" is currently incompatible with the X Tether for Xposed.
Never mind
NM
Downloaded X Tether from Xposed Framework , then go to wanam and click on system and enable "skip provisioning check" and rebooted. It alows me to turn on tethering and mobile Hotspot.

How to Remove Battery and USB Cover warnings
There has been some complaint about these warnings, so here goes:
1a) Download Xposed
http://repo.xposed.info/module/de.robv.android.xposed.installer
1b) Install it.
1c) Open it up, tap on "Framework," then tap"OK" on the pop up. Then tap "Install/Update"
2) Reboot.
3a) Re Open Xposed, tap "Download, " and search for "G-Touchwiz."
Or go here
http://repo.xposed.info/module/com.gertlily.xposed.touchwiz
3b) Install it. Swipe from left to right and it will show the download options.
3c) Go to the main menu of Xposed, check the box for "G-TouchWiz" then reboot.
4) Find the "G-TouchWiz" app and open it.
5a) Under the "POPUPS" section there is:
"Disable battery cover popup on/off"
"Disable USB Cover popup on/off"
5b) Turn them off. (cryptic, huh?)
5c) Reboot.
Finished. You will notice that they did not annoy you... this time.

My G900A with the Xposed Framework, X Tether, Wanam Kit and Wanam Xposed installed, does not have "skip provisioning check" listed on either of the Wanam modules. Thoughts?
Open wanamxposed then go to System. Then check "Disable Tethering Provisioning"
If you don't have this, tell me what version of wanam you have.
Can somebody post a link or explain the benefits of installing Xposed and or wanam. I'm not a complete rookie but besides the few tweaks already on this thread, what else works on our 900As

What is Xposed Framework?
As far as Xposed/Wanam, these apps allow you to modify visual and technical elements of your phone's rom. These changes are temporary and can be reversed.
The Xposed Framework is intended to bring functions of a custom rom INTO a stock rom. One could say it is an alternative for phones in which the bootloader remains locked.

There are tons of modules, however only a few of them work with the S5 currently. You are free to explore, but use caution and common sense. If it's for an HTC, then don't use it.
This thread was meant to discuss which ones do work.

How to Force Native WiFi Tether Galaxy S5 (Root)
Decided to edit this post to make more sense.
Follow the steps below to enable the built in wifi tether feature:

Xposed Framework Installer
1b) Open the app, tap "Framework," then tap "OK." Now tap "Install/Update."

4) Reboot. Again.

Did you follow the instructions for downgrade/unbrick fix at
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2785185
Please note that the original instructions have been changed. Read through the entire thread and follow the instructions to fix this. Users have reported that they are able to update once again to the G900AUCU2AND3 firmware once complete. For more questions regarding this, please post in that thread.
I think it's easy to make this mistake but make sure you download WanamXposed and not Wanam Kit, which I think is close to the top which is why I selected it. It seemed to work for me but I started having problems and I realized it was made for aosp ROMs. Just putting it out there.
Just a heads up guys - the Xposed tethering mod is incompatible with the 'download booster' mod from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2785410
It's one or the other for now.
Later.
@profcx
Thank you for the heads up!
I will update the OP.
Noticed a performance decrease after doing this. However i can now share my wifi. Not sure what is better.
Performance Issues with Xposed (Solved)
Download and open up your favorite build.prop editor. Or just use a text capable app like ES File Explorer or Rom Toolbox.
1) Navigate to /system/build.prop
2) Go to the line"ro.storagesecure.support"
3) Change the value to "false"
4) Reboot.
Everything should be fine after that.

Can you please clarify exactly what this "ro.storagesecure.support=false" is supposed to fix? Are you saying this will fix the performance issue mentioned in post 18 or will this fix native tether in some cases?

7.to turn off vibration chosse Virtuan key vibration patten and type "," hit ok
8. know vibration is off ^^
MORE THAN THAT
not only help you turn off vibration, you also can change funtion of back and menu key
with back key you can change funtion by long-press and double tab
home key only long-press work
another option to chose that is "Xposed addtions"
install Xposed addtions vertion 2.3.8 (only this vertion work on NOKIA X2)
u can change any key funtion
like home key, volume up, volume down and power button( back key not work)
u can bring back power menu like any normal android phone by power long-press but becarefull do not change press option off power button and double tab work fine.
and please remeber do not setup one key with both app GravityBox and Xposed addtions. Ex: you can set funtion of Back key by GravityBox and Home key by xposed addtions.
 Thanks so much,
But to used this app, my device have to be root, right ?

Extend the Power Off menu with reboot and so on in stock

Hi there, I have a N6 running stock Android 5.1 LMY47D. By default "reboot" is not an option when you press "Power Off" button so how do I extend that menu to add "Reboot, "Reboot into Recovery" options? I know there are a lot of ways to do it: trhough XPosed and Advanced Power Menu module (not sure if works fine on Android 5.1), through apps on the PlayStore (one more app just for reboot the phone) and by installing a custom ROM (I like stock for now) but there is a way to avoid all of this and just extend the menu?
Any advice?

as far as i know, the only options are the ones that you listed since there is no stock option built into 5.1:
1) Xposed (which is either in alpha or beta so if i were you i would wait on this option due to stability issues).
2) install an app from the playstore ( i am currently using SimpleReboot which currently satisfies my needs for now).
you can use the terminal also

No it does not. I'm also looking for an alternate method. Had it running for awhile on Nougat official release, but if I accidentally long-pressed on any of my Swipe Navigation attempts, it would stop working and I'd be stuck in whatever app I was using. Having to shut down and reboot to get home is not ideal.
it removes the navbar but it also breaks my camera. suggestions?

This methode use to work on my phone prior of Android O. But it completely break my system if when I tried on O DP1-2-3. It wont let me rebooting at all, goes directly in recovery and have to reflash system. I know the thread is concerning N and not O but wondering if anyone would have advise
Is there any other way of removing the nav bar ? I tried substratum to set the size to 0 but that won't work either
You can use a custom ROM, like Pure Nexus.

Immersive mode is one way of doing it but I personally hate it. Swiping the bottom of the screen will bring back the nav bar. When hidden the keyboard won't show. Plus it still doesn't give you back the screenestate, it is simply replaced with a black bar.
Custom ROM like Pure Nexus have the option because they are running N. The build prop mod use to work prior of O. Hope there will be a way of getting rid of that nav bar ! #givemebackpie

Currently my nexus 6P is running Oreo, I use the root explorer to add qemu.hw.mainkeys = 1 on Build Pro File, but it turned out bad, my whole system collapsed and I have to reflash the OS. Will this app work in Oreo? Many thanks.

Latest version of the google beta app

Tap on advanced then go to default apps
Tap on Assist & voice input and then Assist app and select Google app there
If its already there dont worry, tap on it and select Google app again
Long press the home button and the google assistant should popup
Now for the stock marshmallow users
Install the latest version of google app beta
Install the Xposed module named Assistant enabler, activate and reboot
Thats it. You're done. Long press for the assistant to popup
