Galaxy S5 Android™ version 6.0.1, Marshmallow (G900AUCU4DPC1) release imminent?

Samsung recently updated its version history @ http://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00036623/997495262/
to call out version name of the new update - G900AUCU4DPC1
Anyone got the prompt or update so far?

it won't be long since they've just released it for other models. I will need the ODIN of update.zip since I am not an ATT customer and I cannot receiva OTA.

I hope this update fix the battery issues and bring us the new touchwiz with the white status bar i hope it relese soon..

man, you have not been paying attention at all. Android M has been released for all other carrier and non-carrier variants and none of those have the new touchwiz. Same ugly and slow UI with some of the M features under the hood but not all (like no support for extenal storage as internal).

that is true but with marshmellow you can sideload good lock screen and you get to disable some touchwiz stuff

yeah, there are various websites detailing the process, just google "s5 odin flash" and you should get the details.

I have the Good Lock (replacement system ui) installed on my (so far) uprooted S7 edge G935FD on 6.0.1 so I think you will be able to install it via Galaxy app store as well.. Without root.

That's on s7, if we don't have it in the store I don't think it's possible with no root.

I guess time will tell, I wouldn't think it'd be possible to load a system app without root just with adb. I guess since it's an official Samsung dealio.

ODIN requires your phone to be bootloader unlocked, it's complex and risky, plus you'll wipe everything on the phone.
Why not just borrow an AT&T sim from someone with an AT&T phone? I've done that few times in the past, just take about half an hour, mostly waiting for it to be downloaded.
Another option would be look for the Samsung Experience Center in Bestbuy, they can upgrade for you when it's ready, don't think the update is ready as of now.

That is not true, Odin works fine on bootloader locked devices.

Torch flicker

Hey guys!
I noticed something weird the other day, I used torch for the first time (I have the phone about a month) and the light (which by the way is pretty weak) was flickering. Very very fast but at dark it is easy to see. Can you check it for yourself to see if it is only on me? I use the latest firmware, everything in stock (no root or unlocked bl)!

i have the same problem as yours when i upgrade to 6.0.1. i believe it is bug of 6.0.1, course it never flickers in 5.0.

My question is: can I sideload an incremental update with adb without losing my existing apps and settings??, I must mention that I am running the correct version in order for this update to work. No there is not knowing way to use ADB w/o loosing all data on apps. Samsung cloud get you some data back if you on Nougat update.

I post Odin files to S6DQC1 if i remember correctly. this are official At&t files. Try flash them by Odin.

There is no update to Nougat from C1 build. I think they need to update security to April patch. We need to be patience

From what I read, it doesn't work anymore. However, if you have TWRP installed (If not you can use Odin to put it back on), you can use Magisk to successfully root.

That's weird. it should install without any issues. I installed it like a normal apk on my friend's S5 neo (SM-G903W)

Use zapryanov custom rom it works on european version

Been awhile, but oreo!

So today, I was out helping my mother, and her s7 edge said it had a pending software update. It happened to be android oreo, I'll get the sw baseband version and everything shortly

Android version:8.0.0
Samsung experience version:9.0

7.0 stock.

I'm using the beta and it's not pulling the update from their servers. Guess I need to flash back to bra1

My update just showed. Downloading now. Download speeds are painfully slow. I'm guessing due to high volume. Now if we could only find an easy option for root.

I'm wondering the same thing. I'm not getting the update. Mine is unlocked and use an t mobile sim card but nothing

You will only receive the OTA update if you are using an AT&T SIM. There is another thread in this forum that you can use to download the updates and flash manually. Make sure you back your data up.
