DIY GUIDE TO REPLACING THE 19$ BROKEN GLASS on the galaxy note

hi folks. i managed to replace my galaxy note front glass with a new one i got from ebay for 19$ and i want to make a step by step guide on how it can be done.
i did it using common tools and a s load of pacience and attention.
the tools i used are: heat gun with hi and low settings, exacto knife set,small phillips and flat screwdrivers, goo gone, and optional a screen protector.
first take the phone apart as it's describet in countless of threads and youtube videos. you should end up with the screen assembly shown in the first picture.
now we have to separate the glassscreen from the frame it sits on. for this we fire up the heat gun.
a few words about using the heat gun.
-my gun had 2 settings: low and high. during all this process i used it on low.
-don't put the gun directly and/or close to the thinn plastic wires that hold the two connectors.
- dont hold the gun in the same place more than 3 seconds, instead swipe the gun around the spot and the screen like u would do with a paint brush when painting.
- dont hold the gun too close, that is closer than 3 inch
-concentrate on the spot u working at but try to heat up the whole screen assembly, as it has to give away from all the points kind of at the same time, and not just the point u working at.
- dont overheat the screen as this will damage the amoled. thats how i got the two yellow spots on my screen. first one by accident and second one intentionaly to see if indeed the overheating is what caused it.
A very good rule for this is dont heat the phone more than you can bear to touch it cause afterall you have to hold the phone while working on it...
the way i did it is :
-i heated up the whole screen assembly, back and front, for a minute or two
- than i started to stick the tip of the exacto knife between the glass and the metal edge that sorrounds it. i started from the upper right corner, the side where the front camera is. see photo 2.
the goal is to unstick the glass from the frame. in photo 3 the frame and the screen is shown without the upper glass. this photo was taken after i finished everything, thats why the screen can be seen inside the frame. but i posted it to show the black sticky tape that its used to hold the glass to the frame. i think is the same kind of sticky tape thats used in all the touchphones including iphone to hold the front glass to the rest of the phone. in photo 4 i unsticked some of the tape to show it better. this tape is the main thing that holds the the glass to the frame. the other thing that hold the screen to the frame is some sticky glue on the back of the screen. but this is much softer and thiner glue. this is the reason why i say to heat up the whole screen assemby including the backside, to make it easyer to unstuck the glass and scren thats glued to it.
- once you get a bit of a foothold in the upper corner between and the glassand the frame you continue the folowing procedure again and again until the glass and screen detaches from the frame:
-every 2 minutes or so , when i feel the asemby cooled down, i'd heat up the whole assembly for 5 seconds or so, than concentrate on the spot i worked on for another 5 seconds, than move/push the exacto knife a bit. dont force it. after a while youl get a feel of it. if the exacto knife happend to be out, i would heat up the blade after heating up everything else, and than put the blade in.
prevent the freed parts from sticking back to the frame by using the rest of the exacto knife blades as shims.
once it detaches it should look like photo 5- the glass glued to the screen.
- now we have to detach or unglue the glass from the screen.
procedure is the same: start somewhere, heat, put knife in, etc... i used a second knife as shim folowing the first knife, and after avery couple moves i would get the knife out and wipe off the epoxy glue. heat the blade and put it back in.
when finished you should have something like photo 6 and 7: free screen covered in glue epoxy residue.
- now we have to get rid of the glue residue. i took the bulk of it usinga flat exacto knife blades like the one in photo 8 and 10. just warm the place a bit with the air gun and scrape it off with the blade. to clean what was left i used a bit of goo gone on a pice of cloth or napkin photo 9.
cleaned screen can be seen in photo 11 - sadly out of focus.
if u are like me and r impatient to test the screen you can just connect with just the side connector like in photo 12 and 13. the upper connector is for the s pen digitizer. side connector is for the screen and touch digitizer.
now all that's left is to put the phone back together except leave the new glass for last.
-first thing is to put the screen(without the glass) back on the frame. try to center it just right, so that ther's a little bit of space between the sides of the screen and the frame.
at this point all that will hold the screen to the frameis the thin layer of glue on the back of the screen. after centering and lowering the screen in the frame procede to put the phone back together folowing in reverse order the same steps used to disasambe it. when finished you should end up with the whole functioning phone except the front glass -as seen in photo 14.
now you can chose to trim and put a screen protector on the scree so as to fill the empty space between the screen and the glass - the space where the glue was, or you can just leave it empty. you can put a screen protector anytime after by removing the glass. which should be much easier to remove now that its held in place only by the blach sticky tape on the edges. just use some suction cap to remove it, starting at an age, and remove it like fliping a page. see photo 16. i used the note for 2 weeks without the screen protector in the empty space and it worked without a problem onlt thing was that when i pushed hard the glass would touch the screen and leave a bit of dirt in that place. thats why i decided to put the screen protector to fill the void. in photo 15 i raised the screen protector to make it visible in the photo.
if you are like me and worry that somehow the glass might fall off the phone you can always get a hard plastic case for the phone, like the one in the pics. it's made of 2 parts. one goes on the back one on the front and they snap togeter around the phone. this will hold the glass in place no matter what while it will also protect the phone.the case is in photos 17 and 18. i got this one of ebay for 8$ and free shipping.
the last thing to be done is:
for some reaseon the touch screen became much more sensitive after removing the glue so you need to lover the touch sensitivity. for this get the touchscreentune app from the market. it works with galaxy note and galaxy s2. put the sensitivity from the recomended 25 to 50.
the best thing about this procedure is that i dont have to worry about the f ing glass anymore. if it brakes again i'l just order another one and in under 2 minutes i can replace it. all i have to do is get the phone case off, put a suction cap on , , remove the old glass , and put the new glass. that's it.
because it takes 4 to 8 hours i would recommend the process to be done in 3-4 sessions as people would get tired after 2 hours of work and tend to lose focus, attention, patience and start to push to get it faster done, and that's when bad stuff happens like yellow spot burn on the screen or small scratches. another thing about scratches, even if u manage to scrach the screen dont worry to much as the scratches are almost invisible when the screen turns on. youl see what i mean ....
i do have one question: WHY DID SAMSUNG DECIDE TO GLUE THE SCREEN TO THE GLASS INSTEAD OF HAVING THEM SEPARATE LIKE ALL THE OTHER TOUCHPHONES?

what kind of glue did you use? where did u get the glue from? how did u do it?
i didnt glue the glass back to the screen. i just put the glass on the frame. to fill the void where the glue was i trimed a regular screen protector and put it inbetween the glass and the screen. but it works same without it.

Very interesting, I didn't think it was possible because the glass is glued to the SAMOLED panel. I'm very glad that I am wrong.
As much as I hate to think about it, a guide like that would probably come in handy for many of us at some point.

Nothing is impossible with the right tool and know-how . The glue could probably be uncured with a heat gun, just like ipad. The challenge is not damage the panel and make sure it is dust free after put back the replacement.
It is said impossible because of the difficulty involved. If you can't manage to install a screen protector with perfect alignment and zero dust spike, this task is not for you.

I dropped my phone last night and it landed face down, cracking the glass.
I'm so upset, but I don't think I have the skills or the tools to do this job myself. I am relieved to learn that the glass can be replaced, but do you know whether the Samsung agents are likely to be able to do this?

they probably wont do it. but you can try showing this thread to some technician or phone repair shop and they might do it for you. they also might charge you a lot to the point where it might be more convenient to just buy a new 260$ screen.

all im going to say is good luck separating the 2 screens without breaking the lcd or scratching the crap out of it ... this is a 90% epic fail method but thumbs up to the few that may succeed or dont mind their screen looking like its been belt sanded...

Its worth a try, since screen replacement costs 230 euros.

actually .. the funny thing is that even if u manage to screch the screen and / or leave dirt behind it doesn't show while the phone is on. it might show when is off but not when is on. i was suprised about that too. and secondly, having to do it again knowing what i know now i would do it without leaving a mark. and in the end is certenly worth a shot before ordering the 260$ screen assembly. the special thing that it requires is pacience and attention.

Why different prices for all the same lenses in this shop ?

as i said good luck with it and hope you make some money doing it..... ive successfully done the same thing myself but other than it will never look good like a factory screen (not even close), the amount of time it takes to make it look anywhere near acceptable (not like a 10 dollar repair) is big and that makes the repair not really worthwhile doing it for anyone but yourself and even then who spends 700-800 dollars on something and does a repair that makes it look cheap... then theres the whole ordeal of the membrane youre taking the adhesive off of along with the HUGE chance of damaging it.. it is placed with precision and adhered for a reason along with being dust and scratch free... this is a repair that just wont last because things will start functioning improperly for multiple reasons...
im not knocking you or anyone who tries this..im just trying to emphasize the dangers, downfalls and the probability of it being a legit solid repair. also the resale value when the next greatest thing comes along... just beware....

Well chaps I hate to disagree here, but after speaking to the technical bods at Samsung it appears that the OLED is NOT glued to the glass, but the glass is laminated and bonded in, much like a car windscreen. My screen got broken the other day and I have read the 2 posts on XDA regarding this. Now if you go and have a look at the pics of the other post

you can clearly see the OLED, although broken, seperated from the glass with no sign of any glue. The reason it broke is that upon heating the glass you will melt the glue, which will then stick to the edges of the OLED and if you pry it at the wrong place/time/too hard/whatever you will break the OLED as it is glued to the bezel itself. So when my glass arrives I am going to attempt to remove the glass using fishing line and pulling it between the glass and the bezel and OLED to release it, the same way as I used to remove car windscreens, and post the results here. I have also been told that the reason for the sticky "epoxy" mess that you encountered in this postis from melting the plastic on the back of the glass (which is the lamination!) by using too much heat.....I mean come on, a heat gun is a bit excessive!! Prying the screen out a bit at a time might work, but will surely end in tears, where as cutting the cold adhesive with a fine nylon cable, which wont scratch the OLED, might just work. I'll keep you posted on my results.

Just throwing an idea out there: maybe the adhesive would be easier to defeat when it's really cold, rather than really hot. I know a lot of adhesives become quite brittle when you put them in the freezer, superglue and epoxy for example. And the electronics/plastics of the display could be relatively fine with the low temps.

this is not one of them...i can guarantee this 100%
learn how a digitizer is made then you might see the light, and not just the light of white trash repair and failure...
ive explained it in great detail many times... and btw just because im a girl doesnt mean what im saying is wrong... 20+ years in the industry gives me sort of a clue as to what im saying..
im trying to help people avoid a long drawn out disaster and to waste $20(which is NOT gorilla glass) plus all of the other things they buy to try to make this a success which will never happen...
and fyi freezers, superglue and epoxys are big no no's...they are not used by any factory so there is another myth busted... they will just add to the destruction... 100% guarantee

I didn't say factories use superglue or epoxy, or freezers for that matter. But the fact that factories don't use them doesn't mean it can't work for DIY repairs. Low temperature brittleness isn't exclusive to epoxy or superglue. Many, many glues (and other materials) have that property.

Replacement screens are generally OEM parts.
It might appear I'm in a hole, but that's only because I live in Holland and am below sea level. I assure you I haven't done any digging.

I get that, and appreciate your concern. However, you should understand that some people like to try things even when the chance of success is not very high. You seem to be one of us in that regard (you attempted repairs yourself too, right?), so I don't see why it upsets you so much.

All you do is say people's ideas are stupid without giving arguments that aren't arguments from authority. And I would very much appreciate it if you would stop misrepresenting my posts (intentional or not).

Screen replacement questions

So my wife dropped my n6 (in spigen slimarmor) onto my shield tablet from a foot and a half (mattress and box spring on floor) while handing it to me so I could check a notification. Now the front glass has a deep crack by the top speaker, and two hairline cracks on the screen.
My question comes from seeing front glass replacements being ~$10usd and screen assemblies being ~$175usd. Could I just replace my glass, since there is no damage whatsoever to anything under the glass? Do I have to replace the whole screen/LCD/digitizer assembly? Thanks for your time, fellow end-users.

Look at the last paragraph of the OP. Motorola replaced his phone for $183.

Well... if you try the $10 fix and screw it up, you can still do the $175 fix. But if you try the $10 fix and it works, then it only costs you $10.

WhiteStone Dome Installed - 2 Issues I noticed

So, I was excited to get this installed and I did a really good job with it. It's really clear and for the most part looks great on the phone. Sensitivity is also on point.
But I have two quips.
#1. The edges of the glass protector are sharp. I was intending to use the phone naked but because of how sharp it is I have to keep a case on to get that weird feeling of two screens gone.
#2. The edges of the glass catch so much dirt and dust because of the adhesive. If I try and clean it off it gets worse cuz the adhesive then balls up and becomes part of the dirt.
I'm really not happy with how the dirt looks. Showing off my new phone to people they asked me why it's dirty like that. And I think I did an excellent job with the install, I cleaned off everything I could after the first cure. Anyone else have these concerns?

This is Whitestone! I am so sorry about has happened to you. By reading your post, I would just have to give a guess that UV light was not enough or the glass did not fully stick. Sometimes edges may be sharp and dirt may get in because the space in between the glass and the LCD display may have thicker adhesive layer than other installations. Good to hear. I purchased my first Dome Glass directly from you via eBay. The bridge was broken in half but I tried to install it anyway. Glue went everywhere and the liquid did not fill the very top of the protector. It's been 4 days and no response to my request for a refund.... I've already purchased a new one at Amazon as they don't give me any issues with returns. Please respond via eBay. Same user name on eBay as here. As you know, this is the most expensive screen protector available for the Note 8. While it seems like a great protector, you guys should be bending over backwards when a customer has a problem when these cost 50 bucks. I'm holding out hope that you will do the right thing.

Watching this thread as I was about to purchase one of these..... Hopefully like you say... $50 should at least give you better than this in regards to customer service

I too am interested in their Customer Service. As I have said in another post and on my Amazon review, there is NO EXCUSE why there aren't two protectors in a product that costs $50 period. If they want better market penetration they need to ease some minds and remove the risk of flushing $50 down the toilet if the first attempt goes off poorly. I have already heard that from more than one person as why they won't buy one.
I followed all the directions, was very careful during the install even to the point of wearing mask and gloves so I couldn't blow dust on the screen while working. All that effort during the install was successful for a clean dust free install but I still ended up with a bubble on the left side of the display because I couldn't see it under/through the Jig that holds the phone and holds the glass in the right place to know there was a bubble there :/ Every time I look at the screen that bubble "lights up" like a neon sign saying "Hey you screwed up" and bugs me. I will absolutely NOT be spending another $50 for this again to correct that mistake.
This product could be NUMBER ONE in the US market if they added that ease of mind of a complete do-over installing the glass if a mistake is made even after drying the glue. That and an actual break warranty like ALL of their competition has. Instead they charge $40 now (was $35 a couple days ago) for the "refill kit" ??
Whitestone Dome is the best looking, best finger sensitive protector I have ever used (12 years and counting). My friends and colleagues won't touch it at that price for fear of blowing the install and being out that amount of money when the can spend 1/5th the money on something else. I can't say I disagree with them. I was very excited to receive it and try it out. I wanted this phone to look the best it could. In the end I took my time, did it right but still ended up with a mistake :/ Now it is both a source of joy in that for the most part it looks good, but also embarrassment/frustration over a simple mistake I can't fix without spending double the money. Instead of showing off my phone and telling people what I bought and them thinking that they should get one too, what happens is they know me a guy who fixes phones (even displays) and has never had an imperfect install of a screen protector until now living with a bubble due to the price. One of my friends actually said "If you couldn't do it right, what chance in hell do I have?"

That and an actual break warranty like ALL of their competition has. Instead they charge $40 now (was $35 a couple days ago) for the "refill kit" ??
Whitestone Dome is the best looking, best finger sensitive protector I have ever used (12 years and counting). My friends and colleagues won't touch it at that price for fear of blowing the install and being out that amount of money when the can spend 1/5th the money on something else. I can't say I disagree with them. I was very excited to receive it and try it out. I wanted this phone to look the best it could. In the end I took my time, did it right but still ended up with a mistake :/ Now it is both a source of joy in that for the most part it looks good, but also embarrassment/frustration over a simple mistake I can't fix without spending double the money. Instead of showing off my phone and telling people what I bought and them thinking that they should get one too, what happens is they know me a guy who fixes phones (even displays) and has never had an imperfect install of a screen protector until now living with a bubble due to the price. One of my friends actually said "If you couldn't do it right, what chance in hell do I have?"

Don't blame you mate for not wanting to spend another 5% of your phones total cost.
2 of these equate to 10% of what you roughly paid for the device...How does that even make sense ...10% for the equivalent of 2 glass protectors which probably cost less then a few dollars to the manufacturer.
Unfortunately at this time they are the only ones with this product and will continue to sell at this price point

I'll return mine if they don't step up and take care of their customers!

+1 on this! I thought it was just me . I have had 2 of them do this. The other I installed for a friend and he hasn't said anything. If you try to remove that glue and dust on the edge it just makes it worse. Then you have a weird dirty looking spot right on the edge. I can give you a perfect example. Just below the speaker at the top where your ear might hit during use the edge looks ragged and dirty. Had this thing on for 3 days.

I did send them an email with pictures and my receipt. I bought 3 whitestones from mobilefun.com and they don't even have any in stock anymore. Mobilefun also put a note in the package that basically says no warranty replacements. Let us know if you hear back from whitestone and I will do the same.

I'm sad to say that Whitestone's QC isn't the best either, which was surprising to me given the rather high price of admission...
I'm in the process of returning one of the dome protectors through Amazon - the glass itself had an imperfection which showed up like a dust bubble between the tempered glass and the plastic initial protector - it was visible as soon as I took the tempered glass out of the package to start the process.
I thought it was dust to begin with, but no amount of alcohol wipes or dust removal stickers worked, and as soon as the plastic protector was put back, the "dust bubble" re-appeared.
I didn't try to install the protector properly as I wasn't happy paying £40 for a protector with a defect.
Not entirely sure I want to roll the dice again, especially given the fact that the edges are sharp - I was expecting a sort of "2.5D glass" beveled edges to be honest - are these available on curved edge tempered glass protectors? If so I might go down the DIY loca route rather than get another Whitestone.

Amazon sellers are required to maintain a certain product defect / return rate, FBA or not.
Buy only from Amazon and return it if you didn't get a working product. First comes the performance "review" (month ban) then a permanent termination. Hit them where it hurts. They'll either have to step up their customer service and provide replacement kits for free or lose product exposure on the largest e-commerce site.
Though to be honest they'll probably buy/setup another account under the guise of a distributor at that point.

Well, I decided that if I was going to return it, I might as well give it a try and see how it goes on, and the "tiny dust bubble", which appeared to be a very slight imperfection in the glass (I couldn't feel it, but you could see reflections in the glass being distorted) has "blossomed" into a nasty looking pinkish-purple mark, visible on both black and white backgrounds.
And half an hour later two air bubbles have developed next to the pink mark as well. They seem to be forming into a sort of halo shape around the defect. e: the bubble is now a full ring with 1-2mm separation between the bubble and the defect e: #2 Ok, now it's a 1cm wide "spider bubble". Weird.
I'm absolutely positive that it isn't a piece of dirt/dust under there - it was perfectly clean before I put the protector on, the pinkish-purple mark only appeared when the glue was applied. The mark also "floats" ever so slightly above the air bubbles, as it it part of the glass protector.
I'm going to try and contact Whitestone directly and request a replacement glass only, if at all possible. I'd prefer to keep the phone protected for now, even if that means a hideous mark right in the middle of my screen.
The applicator works great though, really simple and effective - and damn satisfying to watch, too!

After reading this I've decided against purchasing this specific screen protector. I bought three different types on Amazon, on my second one and am completely satisfied. It looks as good or better than pics in this thread and all three were cheaper than one Whitestone Dome.

I'll be happy to report that mine turned out better than expected. Really happy with it. Is it worth 40+ bucks? Not sure but if customer service helps you out and ships you a new one I'm sure it will be. I can't count the number of 10 dollar 'glass' and other screen protectors I've purchased over the years. If this is the only one I have on my Note 8, it will also be worth it. Side note: Using Spigen tough armor and it lines up almost perfect....no room for error at all.

Just installed mine a few hours ago and the glue itself had some type of dust particle in it. Luckily I improvised and used a canned air compressor straw to pick it out while also making sure no dust from my environment made it on the glass. After about 30 mins of cleaning and removing that odd dust particle, I finally let the glass down and the adhesive take hold. I waited about 5 minutes, used the lamp and noticed the edges weren't completely covered by adhesive. Nevertheless, I did the lamp step then thought I was finished. Wrong... I never took my phone out of the frame... Long story short I glued my phone to the inside of the frame. After breaking the frame apart and plastic shards flying everywhere I had my phone out with adhesive on the back. 10 mins later all glue wiped away from the back and sides of the phone and I'm finished. Here's photos of the corners not being completely covered on the glass

Glad you got a good looking install! Most of the ones I have seen/read have at least one issue :/ even the reviewers for cases that fit of the dome itself all had at least bubbles if not more issues :/

Yah, mine came from Whitestone Direct via Amazon. Maybe that helped? I can see where these can be very prone to error though. Even the tinest of tiny dust particle or if your table isn't level is going to throw off the installation.

Cracked screen & bezel

So I bought this Mi Mix dirt cheap because it had a cracked screen and the bezel is cracked also. Where’s a good place to get replacement parts. I’ve heard of isssues with the lcd and ambient light sensors. Can someone point me in the right direction? The lcd is fine on my phone but the glass is cracked. Is it possible to replace the glass or is it just easier to replace the whole assembly?

How much did you pay?
Mi Mix - Epic Pro

Replacing whole unit would be easier but costlier , replacing glass is cheaper but not easy, you'll need a lot of patience if your are fixing it on your own(or if some expert agrees on doing it for ya might be a plus point), you'll need special adhesive to bind glass to screen,most people use some sort of thin thread to remove glass from LCD, I have seen few people replacing AMOLED panels which are even more thinner then the IPS on Mi Mix but its not easy process lots of things should be kept in mind ,and you might end up breaking your display
1*See if someone is buying that display then sell it and buy a whole new assembly
2*If 1 is no help then you'll be left with 2 options replace glass or assembly
Either way you can give replacing glass a try if you get the glass cheaper
Replacing whole assembly is your last resort
Check you jerryrigeverthing channel on YouTube he did disassemble Mi Mix and he also replaced glass on a samsung oled panel

Last time I checked the full assembly plus frame cost upwards of 200$, not including service costs of course.
Which means that fixing up that beast is still going to be pretty pricy.
If you have the tools, skills and patience to do it though then that's definitely a goal worth pursuing.
Keep us updated on your progress, I love following DIY projects like these.

Looks like vopmart sells the bezel for 90 and the screen assembly for 100 + 10 for frame. Hmmm. What to do... Gotta check out some more teardowns to see if I want to do it myself. But from what I can see it doesn’t look to bad. I’m just not sure about the optic glue + glass & ips panel.

Little update on this. Went to the local cellphone repair shop and asked a quote for a lcd assembly replacement. I was quoted for $120 total (parts & labor) for full assembly replacement. Which also includes lifetime warranty on the screen as long as the screen is available. The repair guy was looking for screens on eBay including the frame for the lcd. Seems pretty damn good if you ask me and I wouldn't have to do the dirty work. But thing is I don't know how well they do repairs. Also, I forgot to ask for a quote for the bezel.

Did the original adhesive hold the new screen in? what about the back panel?

There are some teardowns on YouTube, quite easy with a few hurdles, the hardest part for me was removing the battery, there are tabs you pull that's supposed to help but they just snapped on me. If you're lucky it might work if not don't rush it or the battery will puncture and you will need a new one, the copy batteries are crap. Watch the teardowns a few times and you will get it. AliExpress was where I got mine there are loads of sellers with them. You will need some b7000 glue as the replacements don't have adhesive on them. The glue is very cheap and the screen come with tools.

You need to be very selective when buying the LCD. Almost all of them do not have the oleophobic coating turning the screen into a smudgefest within minutes. I replaced my coated screen with an uncoated screen initially and it was disgusting. Luckily it was defective so I returned it for my money back and then went to Aliexpress. This vendor has the only coated version I know of:

Man screens come without it and you then need to pry the old one off and glue it to the new screen. Often the glue is not strong enough and the diesplay will lift out of the phones body. Sure, it is more expensive than other options, but worth every cent. The display is fee of defects, sits flush with the ceramic frame and makes the phone look pristine.

This is all true, mine is smudge magnet, I can live with it but annoying everything else is ok, I clean the screen with solution then use liquid car Wax to add a bit of a coating against fingerprints, 3 coats of car Wax and a good polish off. Helps a little bit with smudges. It feels really smooth afterwards.

I got my mi mix screen replaced by ShatterFix (www dot shatterfix dot com). Heard of them from a friend. They have pickup and delivery service across India.
They replaced it with a 100% genuine screen and delivered back on the very next day.
Costed me 9599 INR. Service centre was asking 13.5k here in Delhi.

Okay I am getting a little annoyed now..
I bought the whitedome glass for me and my wifes Note 8. Perfect installation. Glue spread perfectly and covered the entire screen. Dried perfectly not 1 bubble or spec of dust. 3 weeks later I wake up one morning and one of my edges looks like it lost adhesion and its peeling up and you can see the bubble/smudged glue under the screen not sticking to the glass of the phone anymore.
$50 later I ordered a new one and installed it again the same way. Perfect spread. No bubbles no dust nothing.
2 days after I put my new one on, my wifes phone starts doing the same thing!!! Now I have to order another one for her?
What a scam $50 bucks for it just to keep peeling up on the edges after 3 weeks... randomly overnight too... Only thing I can think of is CHEAP glue causing the issue. Amazon is prone to sending FAKE and CHEAP replacement items even on their "verified" sellers. Colognes, lotions, jewelry etc..
I contacted the manufacturer and they did not reply... on Amazon I contacted the seller and he said "Ask Amazon"... great customer service. FRAUDS.

I'd be furious too and would find another solution if I paid $50 for each glass. I just had to replace my glass today because the upper right corner came "unglued" - luckily I got a couple when Whitestone was having a blowout/EOL sale for nothing.

I just *****ed to amazon on their chat and they sent me a new one for free and refunded me one of the charges. Thats great and all but this is now the 2nd one on my wifes phone and i am already on my 2nd so what if they keep coming "unglued"...

mine's been going strong for a month and a half now.. no bubbles and no signs of adhesive wearing/screen becoming unglued. Also using it alongside a Spigen case too. I'd go so far as to say that the sceen protector is in 95% perfect condition since the install. Barely a hairline scratch to be seen.

Like Huey above, I've been using mine since Oct ~15th with no issues. It sounds like it could be curing issue if it happened twice where it's losing adhesion. Try using the sun to cure instead of the included lamp.

It's happened to mine also. It started losing adhesion on the right side of the screen out of nowhere. There was nothing touching that side of the screen so I was able to rule out anything pressing against the screen.

I'm sure mine happened from excessive pressure on the TGSP in the upper right corner. It's a tight fit in my front pocket of my jeans. Hopefully it doesn't happen again.

i got my whitestone 5 days ago, applied perfectly, everything is fine except that the glue on the right side of the edges are starting to show as white along the edges, a simple swipe of an alcohol pad took care of that

wierdly mine has the same lift area as yours op. Although i want to say it was my fault cause i noticed it right after I went camping. So something must have happened while I was drunk roasting marshmallows

Whitestone should add a disclaimer, "Do not use while drunk roasting marshmallows"

I don't know if any of you have tried this. I had some bubbles come up on the top corner of my Whitestone Dome. Due to the case pushed a bit on it. It started late Saturday and continue to get larger. I was already contemplating replacing glass. I said let me give the heat gun a try. So I went ahead and heated that section up and then massaged it out. Now the bubbles are gone. I don't know if this is going to last. But as of right now I am bubble free. I did not cure it again but it might help after you massage bubbles out. I am at work and do not have my UV light with me.

As a lot of reviews mentioned, this glass can be broken easily.

My 2 cents worth... I installed Whitstone the first day on receiving my phone (sept 15) everything ok and was happy with the product, after doing my homework, brought a Caseology [Parallax Series] super fit and I was a happy-chappie Beginning of this week my phone fell.... no bs, a max 4cm, from the bathroom cabinet top into the first draw, it splinted heaps, I thought **** but ok better that than the phone right, now comes the shock looking for the replacement glass, guess what, they want another 40 euros, I've paid over 50 for the set, getting expensive! I contacted and wrote to Whitestone saying I only need a glass without anything else, could they give me a better price. Similar experience in terms of customer services, there's a problem with the glass I got. I contacted them via Amazon and they said they would send me another kit. However, it has been 20 days since and I got nothing. I message them again a week ago and no response.

They said they would send a replacement but I have yet to receive anything and they never responded to the following messages, just the initial one.

Glad I read all the feedback regarding this screen protector on here, I was looking at purchasing one but they definately won't be getting my money now!
They sound like a very shady company.

I think the glue has an issue with dealing with pressure after being cured. Now, I have beginnings of lines on the left side of my phone with the 2nd install. It's either a case of pressure/glue, or a case of manufacturing inconsistencies with the "flatness/curves". Surface reflections on this 2nd TGSP are different at the curved edges compared to the first TGSP I had on.

i am having a similar problem.
on the left side of the glass, i am seeing the glue starting to lift. very little, but its a fine line starting to show.
i have UAG monarch case, it line up good, no corner pushing it and i try to push in the corners just check.
so i believe the glue is not sustainable for long-term in and out of your pocket and hot/cold temperatures, and also pressure on it all the time. but at least is much better to clean and take off.
i guest that's how whitestone is making their cash.
because other loca glues are just not that safe to try.
oh well.
No competitor out there with them. so they are still charging us 50. and only 1 glass. goddamn.
