Hi all, I tinkered with the settings and came up with enabling HEVC encoding for 4k, 1080p & 720p recordings. I have also halved the bit rate and hevc block size to 64x64.
1080p records at 10Mbps,
720p records at 7Mbps
I still have problem in reducing 4k bit rate. Tried reducing the values, but It still records @ 50-53 mbps. Any help would be appreciated.
[email protected] records @ 20mbps
Audio now records in HEAAC/AACv2 ,[email protected]
Add both the files and overwrite to system/etc/ with permission 0644
Nice! I will test this ASAP! :good:

I've tested in Google as well as native op3 camera...both works without error...These files are common for all apps...
Two things do not work:
1080p / 60fps choppy, lagging.
Google camera slow motion does not work.

Yes, i noticed that...slo-mo works with op3 camera.
I posted this because any of the great modders available here could polish this and make it work perfectly...
Using hevc can greatly reduce filesize... That's why i started messing around the settings.
Thanx for the input
This doesn't work on 1+3T (LOS), right?

I'm glad you brought this important thing to table. Thank you :good:
Who can polish it better than @siankatabg
No ?
So! do these tricks work with the latest update? I also found a way to get hevc working by changing a few things around. But now!!.... the slow motion fields are gone
Okay, so the mod didn't work and I copied the original files back (I did make a backup) ... Now it says "recording stopped because of an error"... Official OOS Camera. In fact, none of the video recording apps work.
EDIT: Solution - Copy the original files back (MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A BACKUP - OP please include this in the post) and give the permissions as in OP. Reboot to recovery, clear cache partition. It works then.
The file below works on the 3t,should work on the 3 running latest ob (and probably stable) branch. Please take a backup and test it out

Magisk module for systemless integration of this mod
Op3 testers needed, but it was working by manually pasting the file and works on the 3t,so should also work for the 3.
But still, if someone could test it out, it will be swell.

Just compare the file size of a 20sec video clip of the same object, or use mx player and set its hw+ decoder to decode h265 mpeg4 and hw to decode everything else. When you play the video in mx player you'll see the decoder being used

Hello sir, I'm using custom ROM 9.0 (Pixel Experience) and my Moto Camera is working fine but only one thing is not working and that is the 1080p(60fps) video. When recording video from the back facing camera, all the other video sizes are working fine but whenever I switch to the 1080p 60fps and try to record a video the camera does nothing and a message pops out "Cannot start video capture. Another app may be using the mic". My front facing camera is working properly but this one particular problem is bothering me alot.
@Arnova8G2 starting this thread for Mi Max 2. Please feel free to edit the content.
i can warmheartedly recommend this website right here: https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/
listing all current GCam ports from the most important devs in that area
At the moment, it looks like the Arnova8G2 ports are the most compatible ones with our Mi Max 2 phones. v1.2 doesnt have Portrait Mode but works flawlessly including HDR+ Enhanced and basically all Phone Model HDR+ modes. All v1.3 and v1.4 ports dont work well on our phones (lots of black screens). v1.5 beta works better and also includes a working Portrait Mode, however only "Nexus 6" Auto and "Pixel 2017 ZSL HDR no PD" Phone models work concerning HDR+, all others cause a black screen. Thus, HDR+ Enhanced is not available.
So its either v1.2 including HDR+ Enhanced due to lots of HDR+ phone models working properly, but without Portrait Mode
or
v1.5 including Portrait Mode but only with regular HDR+ due to just two phone modes working for HDR+
cheers!
Updated to V1.5Beta 2 and it's a lot better, Potraits works front and back. Motion took picture but nothing is saved.
I noticed Nexus 6 is really slow in processing
EDIT: Pixel 2017 ZSL HDR No PD/Pixel2 seems faster but stuck at processing HDR+ in gallery and photo never saved

Hi. yes, I do have the configuration that you mention. from old versions, 1.3. to me the video gives me failure. in version 1.5. recording at 4k I have no problem. if under the resolution to 1080 recording at 30FPM / 60FPM to take advantage of the stabilization, I get an error. therefore I have it at 4k and no error. the rest works great for me. Keep investigating. I have the .21 version of xiaomi eu. The other scrubber app works for me.

ah yes, versions 1.3 and 1.4 are no good, video doesnt work there. stick to either 1.2 or 1.5.
as for sub 1080p with video stabilization, i think thats miui related, since another member posted something similar. i have no troubles at all with video recording on lineage os 14.1, no matter which resolution or camera is used. stabilization is always switched on btw.

sure thing, gimme another moment.
recorded three clips one right after another, each at 1080p with 30fps and 60fps, respectively (total of 6 clips). no problems encountered.
have u given proper storage permission for the app? also, have u installed the modded media_profiles.xml file in system/etc for proper usage of slomo and 60fps? maybe one of those two is the culprit in your case...

well im assuming you have root access, so:
- download the modded media_profiles.xml file as part of this zip package here: https://mega.nz/#!MKYyWaDL!zUzUivAblq9watfHBvFuCfhC0pBJMqgd6OalVSMLvHw
- unzip the package and overwrite the stock media_profiles.xml file in system/etc directory with the modded one
- set proper permissions of the new file to rw-r-r
- reboot
- test again and see if your issues are resolved
ull need a file manager with root access for that, im using es file explorer pro, for example.

Hi Guys,
Just thought I share with you footage of some software stabilization of some 4k footage from my P20 Pro.
We all know that the stabilization on 4K mode is non existent (not even EIS) but adobe premiere can work wonders
Remember to set quality to 4K within YouTube
Let me know what you think
That works pretty well. Some odd effects from the software though, made it look like things were made of jelly when the camera moved.

Will do a comparison over the weekend to see the difference.
If you use opencamera or ultracorder (hevc) at 3k resolution (3264x1840) then EIS works nicely, looks really smooth. Admitedly it's not 4k, but its still much better than 1080p. I'm currently using ultracorder at 36.7mbit maintier level6.2 with EIS enabled and it really does look nice.
Can you share your Ultracorder settings mate? It's crashing on mine. Cheers!

Yes.
Just a thought, maybe it [manual mode] would work in a different camera app? I'm guessing the LG app may not have added the "capability" for it, hence a 3rd party one might work?
I may give this a shot myself, but if you already have the XMLs installed, it would be faster if one of you tried it... I don't have the time right now to try this.
I tried these, but the camera won't open afterwards. Maybe they are only for a specific variation of the v30?

Okay, my mistake, they do work. Very nice and thanks to op. Not sure how others might attempt this, depends on your setup. I have Magisk and hide and systemless, not sure what others have but if you have the same, you need a Magisk module to update these files.
Here's a quick module I created, put in your download folder and use magisk 'module', click on the file and it will install it.
It does do the 60fps at 4k, but not with 'steady' ois. But, you can select the 4k option (not 60fps) and steady will stay on. It's nice to have... not sure I'll use it but it's nice to have!
thanks very much to op for sharing,
cheers
Oh yeah, wanted to mention that my gcam port does not have any additional options after this, same as it was before. Someone asked about that possibility.

What did u see that indicated it was only 30fps? "I observed"? What did u observe?n I used an exif data tool and it indicated the 4k 60fps was actually variable, from 4fps to 60fps. And the 2 samples I created were at (about) 41fps.
the sample I made with 4k 30fps were exactly 30fps, according to the exif data.
I used this tool from the playstore to see all of the exif data:
Man,
I checked the file and the minimum frame rate was 41fps and max was 60. I was under the assumption that it would be locked at 60fps. Yeah... I expected a bit too much from a 3 year old SOC. Nevertheless, thanks for the help.
