Hi there,
I have a Lumia 735, which is great, but I miss a feature:
A slowly increasing volume for the alarm.
Would it be possible to extract the predefined alarm tones and edit these (fade in effect)?
Has someone done this already?
Has anyone noticed in WP10 the same behaviour, or is there an improvement?
The built-in Alarms app already gradually increases volume, or at least it's supposed to. I haven't checked WP10 but I wouldn't expect that to have changed.
In my case this is not working. The alarm is not rising. It starts loud, and stays on this level.
Maybe I should try a different alarmtone (using "Spieluhr" in german, maybe called "musical clock" or "musical box" in english).
There are some alarm apps in store, which have lots of features, fading volume included. Personally, my favourite is Gentle Alarm Clock Lite, just search it and try.
Hey there,
since 1. March I am running Open Beta 3 - Android 7.1.1 on my OP3T. So far so good.
Today I woke up and noticed a few things. First of all my clock did not ring that night, but all alarms were enabled in the clock app. After checking back in GSAM-Battery Monitor I saw that Clock did not fired any wakelock. Secondly my background had changed from a custom picture I'd set to the Android Nougat Pink. Thirdly my default keyboard had changed from GBoard to Swiftkey.
Additonal Information:
- Titanium Backup made a backup that night
Any suggestions or ideas what happend? Since I rely on my phone only for waking me up for work this is a huge issue for me.
Best regards
Boind
Maybe it is because you are running a beta OS... isn't it?
bugs and errors may happen
I can confirm the same issue with stock clock alarm not triggering. So far the only bug that has been noticed.
Please report that bug

So your alarm does not ring and the background changes to nougat pink?
It happened again this night. This night was also the first time, since the first occurrence, titanium made a backup.
Any suggestions?
Hi,
currently I'm on OOS 4.5.1 (with all addons as the signature says) and it's working great, but there are two things that are irritating me:
Ambient display - when a notification comes, the clock isn't displayed (to see it, I have to pick up the phone). Ambi-Turner doesn't help. The issue wasn't present on OOS 3.5.4. Is this possible to fix this, or this is a Never Settle™ feature?
DND - I set an option to automatically enable DND, when I start sleep tracking, but I feel only a short vibration, like a sign, that the setting failed (and of course, nothing happens, DND doesn't kick in). Again - how to fix this? I already granted permission to access DND setting to the app.
Forgot to mention - the app is Sleep as Android.
Any help will be appreciated.
No clock also bothers me af. But this is the intended (and dumb) behavior. Also, the red 1 is so damn annoying. Why even change what was actually good?
I had the exact same bug on the Ambient Display on 4.5.X, but it seems to be back in the Oreo OB's. Maybe it used to be a Never Settle™ feature, but I guess there was some backlash so it's back again.
Have you tried Freezing the DND App in Titanium Backup and Defrosting it? That may work.
So i guess that I'll have to live with this bug.
And freezing doesn't help, but here's the log:
https://pastebin.com/HivjnmnV
(I had to paste it somewhere, the length of the log exceed max allowed char limit)
Edit: hmm, it seems that auto DND works, if the slider is set to ring. If it's already on vibrate, then the setting doesn't change.
Hi to all,
Huawei have very bad AOD, it doesn't have any information only time. I found this AOD that have so much settings and very, very, useful.
- AOD (time, calendar, weather),
- Notification (when you get messages on som application like Viber it shows Viber icon, you can touch icon and read message on AOD without unlock it),
- Blacklist app - app you dont want to show on AOD,
- Duble tap to wake, swipe up for camera and etc...,
- Edge lights for notifications,
- Background for wallpaper,
- Adaptive mod,
- Font style,
- Music Controls,
- Automatic move clock,
- And many more settings...

Hmm... Looks pretty sweet. I will definitely give it a try. It is odd that the Huawei features are so... thin. I mean, why wouldn't they at least give you the ability to toggle notification icons for just a few common apps?
I tried this and the battery drain is high even with just the digital clock on.
Yeah, I said the same in the other thread. It was using 1% in around 10 - 15 minutes and I hadn't even turned on proximity detection.
I used it for half a day. But he consumes a lot of charge. I do not recommend.
Yeah I noticed my battery draining pretty fast too. However I still think this app is pretty cool and worth it, especially over the crappy native AOD... As my phone still gets through a full day usually.
Though if I think I'm gonna have a day of heavy phone use or I'm travelling or something, I'll just disable it.
I'm using this one, which is very good as well.

I think there's nothing which can be done about battery, whatever app you use it will always drain something.

Can u screenshot your settings please? I can't figure out how to have the AOD come up once I've locked my phone. It never shows.

The app doesn't show the AOD when the display goes off. It shows the AOD when the screen is on and you activate it. I uninstalled it.

Yeh i couldnt get app notifications to work either. I tried everything, besides that it looked really nice. But without notifications it rendered it useless.

I have to say it's the best one I've tried. Thank you. I'm just testing battery usage atm, but im loving it right now.

How do you make it work with face unlock?? It keeps showing the FPrint icon.

It does if you configure it properly. And yeah, there were problems with notifications showing up on the M20 Pro (and I suppose onother EMUI 9 phones as well), but they have been fixed in the meantime.
Must admit I just use it during the day and when I put my phone on the wireless charging pad...just like all other aod apps, it just consumes too much battery to be taken in consideration for constant use (the dev himself doesn't advise to use it this way either). I guess devs can't do nothing about it, it's just the way it is with aod.

Built in AOD consumes very little power but a third party app version doesn't have elevated system privileges so it's going to eat battery like crazy to keep itself open and running.
It's similar to why built in SMS uses very little power but an app like Facebook Messenger is a notorious battery hog.
Freshly installed Pie.
There is alarm clock setup and two hours before there is icon in the notification area and random sounds (like new message received).
Also found out those random notification sounds even when there is no notification or if there is viber message notification - few random sounds will repeat after.
I did not face those issues previously when Pie was installed as upgrade on top of Oreo, but newly installed creates problem.
p.s. I'm still pissed off from Novatek bad display so I hope I can get rid of this device
+1 also got random notifications without there beeing one.
I think it could be related to the option display ambient with the option turn on periodically
@Rubens95 - true.Amazing to put it in Display-Ambient-New notifications - repeat every 2 minutes.
Thanks.
Now one issue is left - random notifications without any even, but they are rare and not so annoying.
Cheers

It seems HMD Global finally found the killer app, but unfortunately it is killing other apps!
https://dontkillmyapp.com/nokia?1
Nokia on Android P kills any background process including sleep tracking (or any other sport tracking) after 20 minutes if the screen is off. Also when killed all alarms are stopped which renders for example any alarm clock apps useless.
This is not my work...
Found this from a AdroidPolice article
DontKillMyApp.com shames OEMs that needlessly kill useful background processes to save battery life
After killing this app, now Google Fit and all other notifications and alarms work again. Yeeeee!
That's bad reputation from their side. Disappointing.
But my issue was the 'Ambient Display' - anyway thanks for sharing.
