A couple of days I received my Mediapad M3 and I am very impressed with this tablet, the sound,speed...Is phenomenal....And two days ago I received an update from Google with the "GOOGLE Assistant"...Is extremely weird because Google don't have any plan to give Google Assistant to any tablet,so we have the first tablet worldwide with Google Assistant ? Nice right....Now I can control all my smart things in home from My Mediapad M3 !! :good:
Here is a picture:
I can confirm. I am in the USA and have US model of the Mediapad and I held the center circle and it popped up and said I had assistant now.

That's because it appears as a phone to apps. If you change the dpi to make it appear as a tablet it will not get google assistant.
Yeah, but anyway we can enjoy the assistant in our tablet.....
Is nice anyway lol

How do I get Google Assistant on Huawei MediaPad M3?
I read some people have it. How can I get it?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2_j7tfSbXSA&t=94s
I have a problem with that tablet fingerprint sensor, it works when it wants and after a while the tablet stops working. Even the menu settings disappears, fingerprint ID is gone
when I restart the effect is zero only when I reset the factors it works but after a while the fingerprint sensor refuses to work again. Does

I need this help too. Thanks!
how I managed to get it is pretty much set the view mode to medium or large and have the latest playstore. if I set it to small it dissapears and ends up normal goog le now. or if you like the small view theres a magisk module also.

You can set View Mode to Medium or Large and once you restart you will get Google Assistant. Then you can set it back to Small and you get to keep GA :good:

Hi,
I have been playing around with my new P20 Pro and setting it up to match with what I was used to on my Nexus 6P.
Coming from pure Nexus experience, I really liked the personalised cards you would see on your Google feed (when you swipe right on the home screen)
With EMUI default launcher, it has the option to show Google feeds, but nothing is showing up on the Google Assistant/Now screen when I swipe right on the home screen. It only shows the Google search bar at the top.
Is anyone else experiencing this issue or have figured out how to get it working? I have looked at a few things online and nothing there is helpful.
I had that issue but after I had finished setting everything up it was working fine. Sadly I can't remember exactly what I did to fix it. Try going through all the Google stuff. Hold the home button and set up Google Assistant. Go into the Google settings and have a play in there
You should have an options menu when you swipe right on the home screen. Be sure to enable feed and any other relevant options. Hopefully you figure it out.

Hi Highspeed123,
Thanks for your reply.
I have tried all of those things, set up Assistant, enabled feed in Google Settings and in EMUI Launcher's setting. Played around with various properties in Google Settings too, to no avail.
Hopefully, someone else would have figured out how to get it working.
Thanks
So, after trying various things and trying to search online, I had a stroke of luck. Here are the steps that helped me get the Google feed and the cards working on the right swipe of home screen.
1. Open Play Store
2. Select Google App
3. Uninstall (this will uninstall any updates that were applied)
4. Check you Google feed from the home screen (it should now be working but showing you content in some different format)
5. Come back to Play Store
6. Update the Google App
7. Return to home screen to check your Google feed and the cards now appear in the format you are used to
8. Phew...
It was tricky to figure this all out and had little help out there on the internet.
So, I hope this helps anyone else out there struggling with the setup to enjoy their shinny new P20 Pro
Cheers

Yes, I noticed that on Thursday when the Google app updates were pushed out. I have skipped the update for now.
This updates are so temperamental on non stock Android!!

Mine is sluggish to get going. I often need to do a Google search and swipe backwards and forward a couple of times and then it will populate.
Been working fine all day, then all of a sudden stopped working again!
Same issue.
Worked for me - thx!
Has anyone found any other solutions than this? I've tried this as well as clearing all Google data, to no avail. Is there any other suggestions?
I use Lawnchair Launcher and Lawnfeed for this.

Not sure if you have already tried it, but another workaround is to simply search for something in the search bar at the top and after closing the search results, the feeds starts appearing!
Not necessarily reliable the whole Google feeds and Maps app on a non stock Android phone, but we all wanted a super camera
Google seems to have updated. i now get a feed and navigation items at the bottom. It looks different with a smaller search field. Seems ok but I can't swipe stuff i'm not interested in away any more.
I've had the same problem, got my on the first day of release. It's taken till today to finally work! Hopefully yours starts working soon too!
Had my phone for just over 90 days and the home button crapped out. It just suddenly stopped working. At first it disappeared in the settings menu and if I searched it would show options but they were all locked out. Did a hard reset and now it's as if it doesn't exists. Of course it's c605 and I'm in Canada bought from amazon hope the warranty checks out.

What do you see when you go to Settings - System - System Navigation? Check Navigation Bar settings.
Make sure it's just not hidden, try swiping up from the bottom of your phone. Or you could enable the Navigation Dock.

Oh, I thought you meant the Nav bar, but it seems your whole fingerprint reader is gone?
It's weird though. If you could use gestures on it... That's usually only available to front mounted fingerprint readers.
This is the prop that's supposed to enable it: ro.config.hw_triple_finger=true
I could get it working on previous builds, but it's not working anymore. edit: I lied, that was 3 finger screenshot.
See if you can reinstall your current build using eRecovery
Edit: it seems I assumed you had a Mate 10 Pro which has a rear fp reader, but you have a Mate 10 according to your post history. If the FP reader/home button is broken you should get it rrplaced

Yup, definitively ask for a replacement and contact Huawei customer service about the issue. Give a try to backup and factory reset in order to check it's not a software issue.
You could also use Gesture Control, free version has no nagging ads and should be enough, but without fp reader, I'd be lost.
Because of being in Canada and the device not being sold in Canada they were of no help. But on a brighter note I bought the device from Amazon and they have agreed to allow me to return the device.
I will say if anyone is every looking to buy a device from jpmobiles.com DON'T!! At the time of my purchase it did not state no warranty included. Sometime after my purchase the description was updated and they just gave me the run around even tho I had many screenshots to disprove them. The best thing out of this is I'm about to go get the P20 Pro. :good:
Anyone notice on their new pixel that the new assistant is not working? The assistant is Still the old one, which you'd need to keep squeezing or repeat the hey google phrase.
What language are you using? It didn't work for me when set to English (UK), but works when set to English(US). It seems it is limited to English(US) at the moment.
Also cannot be used with a GSuite account, has to be a personal Google account.
I've switch to english US and have always used a personal Gmail account. Not sure why it's not working. Might just wait for google to fix the damn thing.

Where are you from? It is U.S. exclusive. Not just the language setting English(US). Don't know if you knew that. I'm from germany and I won't get it until they open it for us...
I got my phone yesterday (in the UK) and once I set it the assistant to us US English it installed an update and just works using the new assistant style, so it's not U.S. exclusive in that sense. Thankfully they've also added UK English voices for the assistant to use when talking back (when set to U.S.)

I'm from Australia, but has set the language not english US, still no luck
After giving up a few times, I notice that I was missing the google home app. After downloading the home app, in settings there were an option under continue conversation where you can enable or disable "shared devices". I disable that option and, What do you know, after squeezing the phone for the assistant, it automatically update itself to the new assistant. Hope this help others too.
set to english US and it updated and works
in settings > assistant > languages
not language and region.
Any way to get continuous conversation to work without the gestures?

I just got off chat with Google rep and they told me it's a known issue that they are trying to fix.

Go to settings, search "continued", and toggle the option. Works with squeeze, "Hey, Google", or tapping the assistant icon on the search widget.

Oh! My bad. Didn't realize that was necessary. I read gestures and was thinking Motion Sense gestures. [emoji2359]
I know Android is all about options and all and sucks that it's not an option for the button based navigation but why not use gestures? It's very fluid and quick.

Sorry to hijack the thread but is anyone else having issues with the squeeze for assistant feature? Mine seems very temperamental.
If I leave my phone locked for a bit, then lift it, it unlocks and the squeeze is not working. I then have to tap on the power button to lock it again, unlock and it starts working again.
I can't get continued conversation to show up in settings.
I don't even have the option.

Found out my issue... I have the old 3 button nav bar enabled but to get continued conversation to work for whatever reason you have to have gesture navigation enabled. But I can't get lmt pie to work with gestures - can't fully remove.
I am on gesture navigation already. I'm wondering if adding those Google home devices somehow interfering with the phone

Weird mate, I've a NanoLeafs set for my Kids room and it's still there and functions correct.
Maybe wipe app cache/phone and if it still doesn't work then report it as a bug to Oppo as feedback?

Is not there mate, on google home app they appear whit no problem, i have maybe 40 IoT devices, and no problem. But on android 12 device control, if u swipe down your control center u will se device control option, there u cand add your IoT devices to easy acess on power menu.
I contact OPPO Portugal and they say to me will analyze with the team of engineers.
I contact Google Home suport and they say to contact OPPO contrariwise.
Idk, its really stupid because Xiaomi and LG thing appear normal, but google home no.
https://www.reddit.com/r/Oppo/comments/w2tlkx
u can see there people whit same bug.
I have the same problem.
I also have the same problem, have to say that in Android 12 they did not appear either.
To add more information. I have to say that I was waiting for it to update to ColorOs 13 to see if it would be solved but yesterday I updated and the same error continues. However, I have a Oneplus 6 where it works perfectly and that both devices are from the same company
Same issue here. Done a full factory reset and still not showing up
I came from a oneplus in which it went perfectly. I buy the new Oppo X5, I install Google Home and it doesn't work
Having a OnePlus that just "upgraded" to Oxygen 11/Android 13, which is more or less ColorOS. Worked before upgrade, but after I have exactly the same issue a mentioned here. Sucks.
