Is there a way of getting the phone to notify you when an update is available? At the moment i do it manually as i cant find a way of getting a notification.

I get any app update notifications only after I go to the market app, then it appears as expected on the top notification bar. Is there any way to be automatically notified of updates without having to visit the market app?
I have my phone rooted and have Phoenix Unleashed installed but do not think that have any effect.
Please ignore, I just noticed that this is being discussed with the latest Gear update
With the latest Gear Manager update I get a request to access my Gmail account (I can live with that), but now I receive notifications for EVERY incoming e-mail and not just for my primary inbox as it was in the past. I often don't read notification e-mails and every time I get a new message I get reminded for EVERY unread message on my Gear (vibrates on and on and on).
Does someone know how to revert back to the old notification style or find this update also extremely annoying?
Silly question but how did you set it up to give notifications for Gmail. When I try through gear manager the option is greyed out in the extra notifications section.

Well i get notified by a pop up whenever i get a call and a text message.
Now i noticed i dont get a pop up notification for other apps, say whatsapp for example.
What i get is just the notification icon app on the gear to show the number of notifications recieved. So i dont know i have, say 4 whatsapp messages until i press the home button and wake it up.
Is that how the neo 2 is supposed to work, to only show pop ups notification for calls and text messages?
It's the other way round here, since the Gear manager software updated the only notification I get is emails the gear manager complains about "saprovider has stopped working" I wiped my phone and watch and still got the error. I just noticed today that the software has updated again so hopefully it will start working again. To set other notifications there are options in the gear manager to set what notifications you get on the watch.

Which phone do you have it paired with?
Galaxy S5 with the rom in my signature. Xtresolite I think. A touchwiz rom.
I just received the notification. I went to Google play services and turned off the three buttons.
I do not see the message icon, but pulling down on the status bar still shows the message. How do I fix this on a custom ROM?
Somehow the block all notifications flag was not staying going from the message. Going through Setting-Apps-GPs-notifications seem to work for now. A moderator could close or delete this thread.
