Hello guys! I'm back to ask you a great pleasure. I'm a new user and i cannot post images, if you are kind to search on google 2 din Lancia Delta mask, so by the way I have this 2 DIN mask for my cockpit. Can you suggest me the most suitable headunit for ROMS and tweaking, if not something with android 6.0 or higher, i would be pleased if it has a nice ratio between hardware and price. I would have some physical wheel for volume up\down and maybe for FM tuning. And something that supports steering wheel buttons of my Lancia Delta. Greetings, thankings and cheerings guys. ShuttleX :fingers-crossed:

Hi,
I have a MTCD RK3188 Android car head unit, Android 5.1.1. On the back of my seat I have fixed a Samsung Tab (Android 4.2.2) for my son, so he can watch cartoons on long trips. Any tip how I can use the head unit only as a remote control, for example to change the cartoon running on the tab in the back of the car? The easiest is screen mirroring, I know, but I would like to keep the navigation on the screen of my head unit and only at need I want to open a client app to press the needed button for example for "next track". Any ideas of such apps?
Kodi on Tab, Yatse on head

No-ones done it yet. As far as I know, it's basically an extension of Airplay.
The problem being you need to either have an Apple Made for iPhone authentication chip in your device or you need to crack their authentication protocol.

CarPlay is a technology promoted by Apple to connect the automotive Head Unit displays to the Apple smartphones. CarPlay allows the Apple smartphone to project a screen to the Head Unit display over USB. The Head Unit can launch and control the applications exposed by the smartphone using touch and knobs / keys. Apple speech assistant software 'Siri' can also be invoked from the Head Unit steering wheel control. CarPlay also allows navigation application, along with voice prompts for directions, to be launched and controlled from the Head Unit. CarPlay is part of iOS versions 7.1 and above. The CarPlay SDK from AllGo provides a fully featured implementation which has been ported on multiple OSes and SOCs. AllGo also provides the associated iAP2 client, gadget driver framework, role switching and audio integration capabilities, thereby offering a one-stop solution to customers eager to go to production in the least amount of time.

I was on your website and it's very interresting, but not understanded what you said. Can we expect a port of CarPlay on our Head Unit ?
carplay android
They have know ported an app and a device to let apple CarPlay work on your android head unit
A search for "carplay usb dongle" shows several sellers.
This is the apk that control Carplay dongle...
...if someone can extract the app and study it.
For me the dongle is useless.... It is just one thing to make money!

I got a hold of one of these units. Here's how it works in some detail.
EDIT: added a video with a little teardown
Hi,
I'm currently building a Raspberry Pi (3) Android Auto project for my 55 year old Land Rover. I'm using Openauto installed on Raspbian (rather than using Crankshaft) so I can also add reversing cameras, ultrasonic sensors and so on, more easily.
Anyway, I the system so far:
RPi 3b running Raspbian Stretch
7" Touchscreen
USB soundcard with mic input.
It took a while but I finally configured the audio and it's working, at least Google Assistant and I think Navigation prompts (but it's difficult to assess that, the system isn't installed yet so it isn't going anywhere). The problem I am having is I can't get music at all. The music apps work, and I can use BBC iPlayer Radio no problem. I just can't get either Google Play Music or Pulsar working with locally stored files - There isn't any sound output at all. Mike input works, I tested the soundcard in Raspbian and it outputs audio now (after finding a guide and editing configs, it didn't work at first out of the box)
I'm not an expert on Linux or Android, I'm following guides so consider me a beginner if you would please! Also, if this has been covered before, I do apologise for bringing it up again, any and all help is very much appreciated. I also apologise if it is forum etiquette to introduce oneself before asking questions, I don't mean to be rude.
And here I was thinking the most difficult step would be figuring out how to mount/fit everything into the old bus...
Many thanks,
Ste
Hello,
I would like to buy Double din Head Unit with Android Auto support for my 2008 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder. The head unit should be able to display a few apps like 'Podcast Addict', 'Pandora', YouTube , my music player etc. and gps maps. I am kind of confused about when a particular app will appear on a head unit with Android Auto support. Like there are some apps like 'Podcast addict' that I would like to use regularly on my head unit. I was wondering will all apps on my phone appear on the head unit or only some with special support for Android Auto. There are also headunits without Android auto support like this one and I was wondering what are the implications of buying one of these since while it has everything I need will other apps not appear because it doesn't have android auto support?

Only a few app will show on android auto.
You need a head unit supporting android. Not android auto.
Podcast Addict works fine with Android Auto (it runs on phone, but is controlled from head unit) units. Most music/audio players I have tried also do, but YouTube will not support video. As noted above, if you want the apps to run directly on the head unit, you want an android HU, not an android auto one.
Good morning everyone,
I am interested in buying one radio model DASAITA PX6 with DSP. I have a mazda cx5 from 2014.
But as I see in the ad it is compatible with the steering wheel controls but not with the control jostick.
I don't know if you know if there is an application to manually configure the functions of those buttons with the DASAITA options. I found some video that talks about a "REDMOD" fireware with parameterization options but I don't know if this is compatible with the DASAITA radio.
For me, using the joystick is vital. Can you help me?
No yes if I have put this message in the corresponding category.
Thank you very much and greetings.
