Hey man, I got a problem just like you and this is the way I fixed it.
Download the Huawei update extractor:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2433454
And use this to open your Update.app you already downloaded.
Extract the 'boot.img' and the 'system.img'.
Now you need fastboot, follow this tutorial:
https://www.xda-developers.com/xda-...tall-adb-and-fastboot-system-wide-in-windows/
Now open terminal/cmd/powershell and open the folder the boot.img and system.img you extracted are in.
Connect your phone in fastboot and run the following commands:
fastboot flash system [Extracted_System.Img]
fastboot flash boot [Extracted_Boot.img]
fastboot reboot
This resolved the issue for me, I hope also for you!

Hi Jatan,
Thanks for the reply. I tried that as well with a couple of stock images but all i got was a blank screen. Can you share the stock image that you used?
:good:

for most Stock images when i try to "Fastboot flash system d:\System.img" ( system.img is in D: in my case), i get this error
FAILED (remote: sparse flash write failure)

How did he brick it? What was he specifically doing (nougat update etc.)? Do you get the same error when you try and flash a boot image, stock recovery or other partitions?
Can you install twrp? If so, try wiping the system & boot partitions in twrp, then try flashing boot & system again in fastboot. If he'd updated to nougat, then you'll need to try and flash the rollback package first then dload a Marshmallow rom and go from there

I would suggest using this tool:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/p9/development/huawei-p9-eva-l09-eva-l19-eva-l29-tool-t3591358
to install this tool to unlock bootloader and install twrp.
After unlocking your bootloader everything on your phone is gone though.
Then in twrp you can try to repair your your partitians by going to wipe->advanced wipe->repair or change...
And thereafter continue with the steps is provided earlier or install a new rom, this is up to you.
I hope it fixes it for you.

Hi colthekid,
He just went nuts and wiped everything he could see in the twrp.
After that I have tried to write this via the method jatan suggested:
VNS-L21C185B360
from http://www.stechguide.com/download-huawei-p9-lite-b360-nougat-update/
still no boot.

I'l try that and update.

i have twrp. repaired the partitions. did the flast via fast boot using the above method
"Now open terminal/cmd/powershell and open the folder the boot.img and system.img you extracted are in.
Connect your phone in fastboot and run the following commands:
fastboot flash system [Extracted_System.Img]
fastboot flash boot [Extracted_Boot.img]
fastboot reboot"
and still the same. It flashes the files fine. but at boot i get a black screen.
I think im using the wrong files. Can anyone please share the link for a full stock rom nougat , or a roll back from nougat to mm (i flashed this VNS-L21C185B360 latest)

or maybe i need to do write the oeminfo or something. Read it somewhere. not clear on what it is

Maybe you need to continue this in the P9 Lite forum?
However, in the meantime, this should help you along!!

solved my problem.
Putting the puzzle back again:
I think the genius removed the oeminfo along with everything else he could see in the twrp wipe menu.
I tried to put multiple firmwares on the device nougat ( as he updated) but the boot still showed blank.
As soon as i flashed the oeminfo --> then MM firmware, the device booted up.
Thank you so much everyone for your help. Really appreciate it :good::good::good::good::good::good:

Excellent! :good::good:
And I'm sure your friend is glad to have a working phone again!
Explains why dload wouldn't work as well. As far as I'm aware the update.app checks oeminfo to make sure the firmware is compatible. Hence if you want to debrand a phone to C432, you have to flash a C432 oeminfo before the C432 update.app will flash successfully. No oeminfo=no compatibility for anything!!!

hi,
please help unbrick my P9

somehow i managed to get to fastboot but trying to flash system get error
sending sparse 'system' (449861 KB)...
OKAY [ 14.749s]
writing 'system'...
FAILED (remote: sparse flash write failure)
finished. total time: 15.142s
Update: To get into fastboot is very important that smartphone is connected via USB to PC, then Power-button and VolumeDown together till Phone gets into fastboot.
from there flash TWRP, and reboot to recovery, after that install full Update (Files and guideline is here in first post part 3 and 4 https://forum.xda-developers.com/p9/development/rom-huawei-p9-magic-rainbow-t3601064).

PRA-LX1 I want to install stock firmware.

I want to flash my phone with stock firmware, but I cannot find it anywhere.
I am looking for PRA-LX1C738B123.
I own Huawei p8 lite 2017
I wiped my system because I wanted to install other rom, it didn't work so I want to go back to the original.
Unfortunately I wasn't smart enough to do a backup before so I am stuck atm. The bootloader is unlocked and flashing works, I can boot into huawei eRecovery and TWRP. (eRecovery gives the getting package info failed error) I have tried the dload method with other app files, it fails at 5% every time tho.
I tried using Huawei Update Extractor and Firmware Finder but I cannot find the exact firmware.
Could someone help me with installing my firmware? Oh and I am kinda new and it would be nice to get some guides,
Thanks.
I have the same problem but with a different firmware.. now only thing i can do is use dc-phoenix paid software (15$ for 72h of use). I will try that tomorrow as i also can't find exact same firmware it was on my phone.

Thanks for reply. I will take that into consideration, but from what I see you were looking for PRA-LX1C432B106 and they indeed have the c432 roms there, however they don't seem to have the ones that I have been looking for. They have a list of firmwares online. Anyway good luck.

Yes, but any PRA-LX1C432 i tried doesn't work for me, flashing by fastboot. I believe any PRA-LX1 should work on this phone, but i will need to use that dc phoenix software to flash it.

Hello ! I think I could be of some help since I encountered the exact same problem !
edit: well I just realized I can't find your ROM with firmware finder either, sorry for the failed attempt
In your case I'd try with each firmware until one would work or a I tried them all.
You need some utilities first :
- Firmware Finder
https://forum.xda-developers.com/tools/general/huawei-firmware-finder-team-mt-t3469146
It will allow you to find the stock ROM that fits your model
-Huawei UPDATE extractor
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2433454
It will allow you to extract the .img files from the firmware previously downloaded.
-fastboot and adb
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2317790
The programs that will allow you to flash the .img files.
Now:
1. Find your ROM using firmware finder (the model is usually on the box you received the android in).
2.Extract the necessary .img files : system.img, boot.img, recovery.img.
3.Reboot into the bootloader, connect your device to your computer, open a cmd exe (powershell in my case) by holding shift+right click on the folder containing the .img files and flash each .img file, e.g. for the system file:
"fastboot flash system system.img"
4.then use "fastboot reboot" and after that shutdown your device
(in my case even after flashing the .img files I was greeted by a blank screen, so I shutdown my device holding the power button).
5. Boot into recovery holding vol up + power buttons (be sure to disconnect your device before shutting down and powering it up again) and choose factory reset.
It should then reboot into ROM installation procedure where you will have to follow the same steps as when you booted your device for the first time.
edit: formatting
Also, as far as my limited knowledge goes, there is no custom ROM officially supported for our dear device.

Yes I had the exact same problem, but once I did what I described, by rebooting into recovery (without twrp), I finally had the option to restore factory settings.
I believe the issue is in the fact you don't have access to the stock ROM for your model.

Unfortunately I can't help you further than what I already posted.
But keep updating in case someone more knowledgeable peeks in.
similar problem....I was fairly good but play store was stuck in pending download....
I did a wipe in TWRP, and ended with a black screen...
I can boot to eRecovery, but it fails.and also to TWRP.
when attached to PC it keeps being seen and unseen as if its stuck in a power on cycle
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello did you already test ???
Here is the solution for every PRA-LX1: [http : // www . htcmania . com / showthread . php ? t=1326478] (sorry for the spaces, but I don't have enough posts written to post external links )
Unfortunately, it's from a spanish forum. I didn't found any problem to follow this tutorial, but maybe for someone it could be a little difficult.
Anyway, it works!

Where did you find the C432 firmware? I can't succees to find it
Flashing to a completely empty phone via DC phoenix or manual via fastboot still didnt got my device started. Sometimes I end up in the eRecovery and sometimes its just stuck at boot.
I tried different version from the hicloud but none so far did the trick. Maybe someone can point me into the right direction so i can finally rescue this phone?
EDIT:
PRA-LX1C432
Sorry cant link to these files since i don't got 10 posts. Maybe PM ?
Copied the Mega TWRP backup (B100) to SD card
Flashed TWRP via fastboot
Disconnected the USB cable
Boot into TWRP
Restored TWRP backup
Restarted phone into fastboot
OEM unlocked it
Got booted into TWRP since no stock recovery there
Booted into fastboot again
flashed stock recovery
Android started to work!
Tried to update to B164 and failed
Reboot
Now it offered B110 and I tried to update to B110. Success.

https://boycracked.com/2016/03/14/h...-unbrick-firmware-any-huawei-android-devices/

PRA-LX1 Bricked (Command not allowed, package info failed)

My device: PRA-LX1 (Dual SIM version)
Got bricked. I was installing Google APPS on EMUI (Dumb) and it just kept on looping and restarting.
I decided to try the rescue zip and when I successfully restore it, it boots back to TWRP after I reboot to system.
My recoverys: TWRP (installed on recovery2) and Stock EMUI Recovery (installed on recovery)
Bootloader: Unlocked
Fastboot: Command not allowed
Thanks in advance for your reply.
Hello, is the FRP status on fastboot mode LOCKED or UNLOCKED
if it's UNLOCKED then you can unbrick it using fastboot to flash boot.img system.img and do a full wipe of your data partition.

I already booted, that's good news!
Now I've got a problem. The famous unbrick guide everyone uses - the firmware is buggy for me.
Fingerprint scanner doesn't work - camera doesn't work and audio doesn't work.
I think this is a problem with the firmware as they are more models of the PRA-LX1?
Btw, how do I find mine?
Thanks
My model is the Europe unlocked dual sim one

yesterday i installed the oreo beta on my VTR-L29 but then i brickedd it *cry*. unfortunateley the unbrick methods found here in the forum don't work because the oreo update made some changes in the system file structure...
has anyone an idea what to do?
maybe someone can provide me a recovery image for twrp? (one for oreo, otherwise it wont work) so i can give this a try...
after over 10 hours of fiddeling around a found a really easy solution:
most of you know HWOTA helps with this, but the "normal" version wont work after flashing oreo. but this version is flashed via twrp and is still working!
but you will need a oreo compatible twrp, which you can find here
i know the links are to mate 9 software, but since the p10 and mate 9 are nearly identical, it works on the p10 as well
can you post the step by step guide?
i am on oreo 8.0.0.046 and want to flash another version, or downgrade to nougat because few things don't work on this version
i dont know if downgrading works, i just reflashed the latest oreo.
accordingly to the first link it should work, just flash the TWRP from the second link and then follow the instructions from the first link.

i did sucsses to install twrp but on the second step, when i press on install on twrp, the phone restart to erocovey and failed to find the files. what am i doing wrong?
i think that i am stuck with that version forever....
if you reboot to erecovery, you have not successfully installed twrp. you have to install it with "fastboot flash recovery_ramdisk <path to twrp>"

Bricked, no TWRP access, any ideas?
Hi.
I know this about a P10, I have a P10 Plus (VKY-L29C605), but the process should be similar, I think.
I bricked my phone after succesfully upgrading from B174 to B321 using HWOTA. After which I decided, since I was at it, to flash the Hyperplus Kernel. This led to a bootloop. To fix it I decided to just go ahead and HWOTA B321 all over again and get over it, and would have probably gone just fine, except I decided to rebrand (C605 > C432) while I was doing that, silly (no, stupid) mistake. This led to the brick I am currently expriencing, I have no recovery access, erecovery or TWRP.
So now I am left trying to unbrick the phone. I extracted the UPDATE.APP for both update_all_hw.zip and update.zip using the Huawei Extractor Tool with no difficulty, except unbricking methods ask for boot.img, which I could not find, so I went along without it and flashed: cust.img, recovery_ramdisk.img (using fastboot recovery_ramdisk command for Oreo), and system.img. All of the commands completed succesfully, but no shebang, still bricked and no recovery access. I figure this has to do with the rebrand as the result after executing the command "fastboot getvar vendorcountry" shows the rebrand pulled through (hw/eu 432).
I am currently downloading HWOTA8.zip (3GB worth of download) to see if I can do something it. I am also downloading the L29C432B360 OTA-FULL, since I believe I am not getting any progress becuase I used the updates for L29C605B321.
The kind people at funkyhuawei told me they could fix it with their tool, but I don't have the money for that right now.
I will post updates, but any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Many of us have posted over this in the last couple of days. Seems like Funky Huawei unbrick tool was the mehtod to get it work for me. You could try that!
or use dc-phoenix for me it worked (= in the moment i try to capture the usb ports kommunikation so i have the tool with the aktual firmware longer for 3 days :silly:
would first give dc a try 20 bucks for 3 days is ok i think (=

Must download some software for your phone, unzip update.zip, decompile UPDATE.APP to .iso files, (like recovery.iso, system, iso, vendor iso, boot iso) use fastboot and 10 minuts job, I brik my device over 10 thimes, and repair it.
So I was able to get the C432B360 firmware and I flashed it, but no I can't enter recovery mode because the battery is low (red lightning bolt/red led flash). Anybody know how to charge or force recovery mode boot from fastboot?
If anyone needs, can use my DC-Phoenix account, I don`t need it anymore.

SOLVED! Stuck in 8.0.0.046(01BN) / Can't flash any TWRP

Hi guys,
got a little problem on my VTR-L09C432.
I got Oreo running like explained right here: http://www.stechguide.com/install-android-8-0-oreo-on-huawei-p10/#comment-12332
After that, Oreo bootet fine. But to get a clean install, I did a factory reset.
After that my Version is 8.0.0.046(01BN) and not 8.0.0.311.
There are a few little bugs so I decided to flash once again. I tried to flash TWRP in fastboot mode. -> No success
I tried to flash with the following command: fastboot flash recovery_ramdisk twrp***.img -> SUCCESS!
BUT no i get an Error message when trying to boot into recovery:
Attention! Please update system!
"- picture of the little green guy-"
Error!
Func No 11 (recovery image)
Error No 2 (load failed)
gettin into eRecovery is no Problem. System boots fine and runs better than Nougat, better battery life, with a fews little bugs.
How do I get a TWRP running?
In case if no chance, how do I get system oreo Recovery flashed an running?
Will it be possible to get official updates, when I will get back to original recovery?
One big bug is that my screen won't turn on when receiving notifications... even not with the help of a third party app Any idea how to fix it anyway?
If TWRP will be flashed successfully, is there a Chance to flash these 3 Update-Files through twrp?
Thx a lot!
You have flashed a C900 and you have a C432. So your device didnt find all needed files.
Try to flash this twrp (its in a MEGA Folder) and report .
https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-9/how-to/stf-l09c432-how-to-install-oreo-h9-t3707729
Thx for your reply. You mean there are files, which I need to flash again for my c432 device?
I flashed the twrp from your link.
Flashing was fine but no chance to get into twrp. Still the same error.
Can I flash the RAMDISK or Recovery Ramdisk from your mega-source?
UPDATE: I flashed STR_Stock_Recovery from your Mega-Folder and got success. Now I can boot into stock recovery and into Erecovery. But still no TWRP is working...
UPDATE2: I got a working TWRP by flashing this one: https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-9/how-to/guide-mate-9-flash-oreo-update-package-t3699522
Now my question...can i flash the Supersu from your mega-folder onto my P10? Or will it be bricked?

SOLVED!
Hi Guys,
Problem is solved! For those who got the same problem, follow these steps:
You need this link for all following steps(thx to blackball!): https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-9/how-to/stf-l09c432-how-to-install-oreo-h9-t3707729
If you haven't got fastboot error, start at point 2.!
1. To get Fastboot Error removed, flash Stock Recovery from link above (in fastboot mode)
2. boot in fastboot mode (shutdown, restart by pressing power&vol- with usb cable attached)
3. Flash TWRP Recovery from link above fastboot flash recovery_ramdisk TWRP***.img
3.1. if this doesn't work, flash TWRP attached below this link
4. boot in to twrp recovery (shutdown phone, restart by pressing power & vol+)
5. Flash supersu.zip from link above
6. reboot
7. install root browser or similar from playstore
8. get root privileges to root browser
9. reboot
10. navigate to /cust/hw/
11. rename "normal" folder to "eu" (without the quotes)
12. navigate to /version/special_cust/STF-L09/hw
13. rename "normal" folder to "eu" (without the quotes)
14. reboot
15. that's it!
Thx to blackball for the help!

Thx for this guide, i will try it later!!! But whats the main change now???
When i see it clearly, then you still have the 8.0.0.046 Version on your device... But you have a working TWRP.... And you will receive official updates?
I am wondering, becaus i did the same with my P10 ( i am on 8.0.0.046 too) and i am not sure, if this is an official version with official updates... If it isnt, i will try to go back to Nougat...

After these steps, you have 8.0.0.311 version, themes working, screen on notification working and so on.

Hey cologne83!
First of all, thanks for this helpful guide, now i see finally 8.0.0.311 on my phone
But you dont actually need the root browser, because you can change those folders in twrp too!
Secondly i have a question:

how did you do this? everytime i boot in twrp it shows me only gibberish until i go one directory up.
Root on Oreo would be super nice
Put zip file on external SD card. Your internal is encrypted.

ok, i hoped it is on Android O not encrypted anymore.
But anyway thank you works likes new now!
just a little bit off topic question: is there any new version available? when i check systemupdates it says that that my Version (8.0.0.311) is the latest available. just wanna be sure
deleted
8.0.0.046(04vt)
Does someone has a solution for the 8.0.0.046(04VT) version? If I navigate to /cust/hw/ I find now two folders: eu and normal. In /version/special_cust/VTR-L09/hw I find the eu. folder. So what to change here? Thx

I have upgraded from Nougat to Oreo following the guide written at the beginning of this post.
Oreo now is installed, phone is not rooted and when I go to fastboot mode to flash Oreo TWRP, this happens:
C:\adb>fastboot flash recovery_ramdisk twrp_oreo.img
target reported max download size of 471859200 bytes
sending 'recovery_ramdisk' (20336 KB)...
OKAY [ 0.474s]
writing 'recovery_ramdisk'...
FAILED (remote: Command not allowed)
finished. total time: 0.498s
Bootloader and frp are both opened and RED in fastbooot mode.
The build number is: System 8.0.0.046(01UV)
EMUI version: 8.0.0
Android version: 8.00
Some ideas ?
Thanks for th attention.

same for me after hwota and rebrand fail. And I don't find the STR_stock just 2 STR_recovery but even if android say flash sucessfully i can't acces to recovery nor ercovery.
P.S: I was using OREO rom when I try to rebrand
It can works on Huawei P10 EMUI 8.0.0? How to root that model? I stuck on how to install twrp,. Please help me.....
my system is saying im on 8.0.0.046(0BZC and i can't even get the erecovery or twrp to work at all. nobody around here wants to help or pin point me in any direction either
I have exactly the same problem, but the locations mentioned here don't even exist on my phone, so I can't rename them
10. navigate to /cust/hw/
11. rename "normal" folder to "eu" (without the quotes)
12. navigate to /version/special_cust/STF-L09/hw
cust does not contain a "hw" folder, just a "lost+found" one.
version/special_cust/VTR-L09/hw does exist, but when I try to rename "hw" I get "operation failed".
Very annoying!
I stuck also inside the 8.0.0.046 !
And i dind´t found any solution for this.
This is what i allready tried:
- official eRecovery : download from huawei. But didn´t worked after download. Stucked at 0%
- TWRP oreoupdate ( https://forum.xda-developers.com/p10/how-to/guide-manual-updgrade-to-update-oreo-t3758286 )
- TWRP HuRuUpdate ( https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-9/development/tool-flash-official-firmware-recovery-t3769279/ )
- TWRP HWOTA8 ( https://www.******.com/huawei-hwota-tool-for-huawei-devices/ )
Just to answer my pre-writers:
You need to "mount" the folders "cust" and "version" to see something inside. Only then you are able to change things. In my case this changes
didn´t affect something positive to my version number.
Not sure what i did wrong. Maybe my false was
- Wipe all with TWRP instead with eRecovery
or because
- i flash my (C02) witth (C432) version
So i tried 4x different ways to solve my issue (mostly with TWRP). With no success. If somebody read this, it would be great to get some tips or a complete solution. Would appretiate it.
Okay.
Somehow i found a solution by myself. I have to guess, that the issue is / was of a wrong build nr. In my case i got a previous vers. VTR-L09 8.0.0.382(C02)-FULL. So i updatet to a different build (C432). After
this my Themes disappeared, no file manager and the vers. no. was 8.0.0.046 , somehow. So i tried to go back to VTR-L09 8.0.0.382(C02)-FULL which i downloaded before. Tried both methods: dload, TWRP. No
success. In the end i downloaded VTR-L09 8.0.0.389(C02)-FULL and this worked with the TWRP update method: oreoupdate (check my previous post). After the Update with TWRP before it boots into the
system i was triggering eRecovery to do a "wipe chache / factory reset". Finaly, after all of this, i got a working device as it should ! I hope it can help maybe some people. If everything doesn´t work, just try a different update build number.

P20 Pro - Bricked - tried everything...(!)

I was rooted through Magisk on firmware .255, but I saw an approved update for firmware .280 which I wanted, and I also wanted to go back to stock for a while. I downloaded the update.zip, extracted the .img needed and flashed accordingly; cust, erecovery, system, cache, kernel, recovery, userdata, etc, all I could.
I now can't get it to boot no matter what I try. I always end up on the screen "Your device has been unlocked and can't be trusted" and then stuck on "Your device is booting now". I can get into eRecovery and/or flash TWRP.
I've tried the below;
Flashing dload folder on a USB OTG
Flashing update zip in TWRP
Flashing update zip with Huruupdater in TWRP
Flashing through fastboot update (update.app extracted)
Flashing through fastboot update_full_base (update.app extracted)
Going through HiSuite - it sees the recovery but then says "No recovery packages found for your phone"
Wipe data etc.
I did forget to remove fingerprint security before I did this, my bootloader is unlocked and FRP.
Genuinely never bricked a phone before! Any help would be appreciated.
I think it's because I need to flash boot.img but I can't see that when I extract from update.app
Does anyone have one please?

it because there's no boot.img for EMUI 9, it's recovery_ramdis.img and kernel.img did you flash that ?
try to pull recovery_ramdis.img from the Update.app and patch it using latest magisk 19.4 and flash it then try to boot again

from other phone with magisk installed.
other thing you might want to try is enter stock recovery (not TWRP) and wipe /data and cache from there
just a heads up though,
your way of updating the OS is totally dangerous, you could.messed up partition,
you should use EMUI Flasher instead
I have a guide to fix this in the guides section. Follow it and you'll be fine.
Find somebody that had a p20 pro rooted to send you a backup of their software (with the data partition wiped).
