Random tap on display-P9 Plus with Nougat B360 - Huawei P9 Plus Questions & Answers

Hello guys!
About a month ago i tried to flash Nougat on my p9+ with firmware finder, but i failed.
I solved flashing b170 then b360.
My phone works perfectly, but... with a bug.
Sometimes, when i write (especially on What's App), i see "ghost" tap on the top of the screen... This will evolve in a selection of a message while writing and it blocks the keyboard. So i need to lock then unlock my phone to "restore" the normal function.
I tried to hard reset my phone, but it won't works...
It's strange, because when i use the keyboard on any other screen, it doesn't happen, or in rare case.
Can you help me ?
Sorry for my bad english

I have the same issue. I asked in the form and no responce. Seems like it is a bug. May be in future updates huawei will solve this.
But updates are crazy slow for such a premium phone. I miss my A8 already.

P7-L10 B609 update, some answers offered

Hi everyone, i' m new here and i want to help some of your questions. I won my P7-L10 so it came factory unlocked which i OTA updated immediately with B133SP1 firmware and everything worked flawlessly.
I never rooted the device, everything is factory set.
Few days ago i OTA upgraded to B609 version and i cannot encounter any problems you guys said, except laggy shortcut/notification panel and maybe dissapointing camera controls as well as bad design of clock, alarm, torch (all black, cannot change colour) and phone manager... too flat for my taste, b133 was way better.
For all of you reporting resolution 1280x720 i have noticed that turning screen saving on does that... revert it back and should be fine...
Every old option is still here nothing missing, and a bunch of new possibilities added...
Preffered network mode option is still here (4G/3G/2G), working flawlessly as well as wifi...
As far as i can see all problems are caused by rooting and/or flashing updates not ment for your region, but that's only me maybe i'm wrong.
If i helped anyone say thanx :good:
Cheers

Some problems after update

Hi, i updated my device to B170 using the method described in that how to root thread
All is working fine and i have magisk root except for 2 things
1)Battery is being sometimes drained by google play sercives (Hiding under google accounts manager section) and it drains my battery a lot
2) Cameras are really laggy in the camera app espwcially rhe front camera. Delay is highly noticeable. In snapchat for example there is noticeavly less lag but it still lags a bit
Tried factory resetz didint help much
Hope for a solution
well thats why they havent released the update on official devices without root. What do u expect?

That kind of answer is rude and not needed... The have and you're giving misinformation
Maybe his device is locked to a carrier and has limited updates. Mine is not but i still dont have official 170 update.
EDIT: i just got a direct update to b175 LUL

Random lag, freezes, camera problems. is this device flawed?

Hi everyone!
I'm trying to determine if it's only my phone acting up or is this device flawed by design.
Basically, the more i'm using it, the more it freezes for random amounts of time. I have to clear the RAM constantly, and when that doesn't work, a restart will temporary fix problems. It can be anything, like failing to unlock, or taking 10 seconds to do so, camera opening black for 10-30 seconds, etc. Literally anything can lag badly and randomly, especially under heavy use (or no use, considering it doesn't unlock).
Am i the only one experiencing this? I've contacted Huawei and they want to send my phone to China "for analysis" but this is absurd. I've got exasperated with this phone to the point where i emailed the founder of Huawei to challenge him to use this device for a week and see if he can. They actually responded. So, if this IS a design fault, then i will gladly tell you where you can complain "at the top". I'm just trying to determine if i'm a pretentious prick or this is truly a horribly flawed phone.
BTW, i'm on B115
My pra lx1 works great. Lags are rare.

Mine lags also same as yours
Hello, mine had that problem when I was on the b125 version, now I'm on b182. The problem was fixed for me when I updated to 170 back in october.

You should update with firmware finder or debrand your phone .
Hi there, I just wanted to say that I also have problems with my Huawei p8 lite, camera freezes up to 30 seconds, changing from front to back camera and vice versa takes at least 20 seconds, the phone is slow and not respondin as it should. I had it forba month and a half now and would love to change it for some other device!

I'm on B115 and it tells me it's fully up to date. AFAIK it's not locked to a network. Is there anyway to force it to b182?

P20 pro issues since pie update

Hi I am in Hungary I just got the update a couple of days ago. It was 8 before and now it is 9 and EMUI 9.
Since the update I had 1 random restart and for me it is less smooth. My main issue is I use the double tap on the recent apps button to go back to the previous app a lot and it is not really working always or I have to do it quite slow and not the same as I did and it stuck and have to do again and very annoying. It is also ignoring some apps to go back to like it was not used at all. And there are other minor bugs like in a game I double tap and it makes a screenshot. I know the double knock thing I use it a lot but before it was not this sensitive and it was doing only for knocks and not taps. I was hoping so much the new EMUI 9 would support 3rd party apps notifications on the AOD but no. I am disappointed. My last phone was a S galaxy s7 and they made this integration so quickly. I have a feeling we are abandoned. Anybody have some news about this? I miss it so much. The phone is faster a bit anyway and the battery time is great. I deleted the cache partition. So what is your opinion about these things? Thanks guys.

Try format factory reset, im in the same release and its working great everything

Try to reinstall with the OTG method, should work, in my case was same, the first installation felt laggy, but after i repeat the process, works smoothy
one annoyance i found in emui 9 is that now the default sim for sms will follow default internet sim, not the call one like how it was in emui 8,
this cause issue for banking app that using background sms for verification,
the app will say am using incorrect sim card if i use it with an internet connection from second sim.
this wasnt an issue in emui 8.
i hope this is just a coding bugs instead of purposely made by huawei

After 2nd installation, i also made factory reset.
For me the battery life is awful... Last night i have lost 30% in 8h hours!!!
I have wiped cache partition.
I don't have any issue after update... Phone works perfect, camera perfect, battery perfect... after update I did FR

banking app itself is fine as long as i use internet from the sim that i used for banking verification as well,
it become an issue when i use internet from another sim. the app will unable to send verification sms from the correct registered sim, since in emui 9, default sms sim is following the one used as default for data in dual sim setting, while in emui 8, it follow the one used for call.
kinda hard to explain it in a word, lol. But this is common problem with dual phone sim, and thats why i expect all oem to actually give us setting to set default sim for sending sms, now we can only set default for data and call.
I am with locked bootloader.
I have updated my p20 pro to pie via SD card.
Now, is it possible to return to official oreo without unlocking bootloader..
Thanks
It's same the problem with my P20 Pro After I had updated to EMUI9 the Chrome app didn't sync well everything.. My old bookmarks are empty also! It also flashed off in the Google app before, I reset to factory for twice. And then is turn to Google Play store's apps update to update repeated.. It's like you never did it :silly::silly: I'm thinking about take it back to 8 through the Huawei Hisuite.. I think the Android 9 Pie comes with EMUI 9 is not ready for now... By the way, I'm from Vietnam, a Chinese.
(2) I've just tried to up to EMUI9 one more time.. But this time my phone didn't get matters at all, it's running well!
- Above all issues didn't see any more
Things I did just simply returned to the 8 ver through HiSuite, then I used it for the ordinary days, logged in Google accounts also..
At before I was using Chinese language for the Huawei Vietnam device.. So I think it was wrong during updating something just like that, in this time I changed device back to Vietnamese language(root) & update to EMUI9 with Hicare app in the phone........... I saw something after it had updated was the update's log is writing Vietnamese while my phone was changing into Chinese language.. So funny about it! But the most important thing was everything well! No battery draining quickly too, thank gods!
- The present patch:
9.0.0.168(C636E2R1P12patch01)
- The present version:
9.0.0.168(C636E2R1P12)
*My suggestion you do not put it in Factory Reset, do not change to other locations through changing language in the phone, update it to 9EMUI based on the lastest ver of EMUI8(local) with the patches if it has. Good luck to you..

Could you explain how to do this please?
I did factory reset my p20 pro and it seems it is the same. I have the same problems just like after the update. 1. Double tap on recent apps squere button (go to previous app instantly) is laggy often stuck on the card view instead of reloading the previous app immediately. 2. Touch screen less responsive, many times I can see a blueish 'sparking' mark or line where I touch or swipe the screen means the system detected my touch but it is not linked to the OS properly. Anyway the battery and everything else seems good. So what is otg method I tried to search but it seems not so common or they call different, and anyway how can a factory reset different than the other FR? thank you guys and happy new year!
Hi All
I wonder if I could ask a favour? The stock camera app I have on EMUI 8 (5th November update) has no method of saving the photos other than internal storage. Does the camera app on Pie have an option to save to an external location eg OTG SD card?
Thanks in anticipation...

An strange (N) L29 with no apps neither BT

Hi to all!
I have a VIE L29 with Nougat. My screen was broken since August-2018 and honestly I couldnt change it, until today.
So after changing the screen, I turned on the phone, I initialized it (I dont know why it was factory reset) and for my surprise, there was no keyboard (only the G-talk method).
Then, inquiring into a little, I realized that now I dont have any NFC, nor Bluetooth, nor Updater App, nor themes app, nor Huawei App Store (and until here I arrived investigating)...
So here starts my question (sorry for the long intro, LOL)
I dont remember a lot of my phone... like I said, I dont touch it since August. But I remember that I updated it from MM to Nougat once. And I think that there began the problems.
Idk, maybe I did it in a wrong way?
Now I have C636 B370 (N). And searching a little in my XDA posts, it seems like I had B180 before (MM)
Edit: searching a little more, it seems like I tried a lot of extra versions before the actual one: https://forum.xda-developers.com/p9-plus/help/upgrade-l29-c636-to-nougat-t3784680
So what do u recommend to do to get stability and a great phone again?
Thanks a lot for reading!
