For some reason the merge image can't be mounted on your system.
Try installing the modules through recovery instead and see if that works.

I am experiencing this issue on my Samsung Galaxy grand prime running resurrection remix 7.1.2 magisk 13.0 I've installed the module through recovery but it did not show up in magisk modules..
I am having the same problem as well, on a Moto G5 Plus, Nougat with Magisk 13.0. Modules will not install from the manager or recovery?

Exactly the same position, although the logs seem to be empty so I don't have any debugging info!
Installing through TWRP seems to work but module doesn't populate in magisk and doesn't seem to be working at all

I saw something similar on my Nexus 6 when dirty flashing from an early v13.0 beta to Magisk v13.2. Solution (for me): uninstall and reinstall Magisk v13.2 (and update to Manager 5.0.6).

I have reflashed stock rom, flashed 13.2 only (and 12.0 then upgrade to 13.2) and tried modules many times with no success. At this point it seems like a legitimate bug. I have no debugging info though

Start from the beginning... Uninstall Magisk and do the following:
Install Magisk and a module that you've previously tried installing but doesn't seem to work.
Save the recovery log (Advanced - Copy log).
Connect your phone to your computer and capture a logcat with adb while the device is booting up. Instructions: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1726238. It's a good idea to give it a describing name...
Save another logcat when you open up the Manager to confirm that things arent' working as they should (module list, log, etc). Same thing goes for this file when it comes to naming...
If you have root, go to /cache and save the magisk.log from there.
You can also check in /data if there's a file called magisk_debug.log.
Take all those logs and attach them to a post here. If we're lucky they'll show something (and with that amount of logging I'd be surprised if it didn't).

I just uninstall and reinstall again..and it worked
Same issue here.
A very vague "installation error", no verbosity provided.
Doesnt happen for every single module but is for a lot of modules such as app systemizer.
Not sure if anyone is still checking this. But I've been trying to fix this issue myself.
-I have uninstalled and reinstalled (of course)
-Tried installing modules from recovery with success with some and not so much with others
-Attempted installing Magisk versions 14.0 to 16.1 with no avail
-Reinstalling my ROM before reinstalling Magisk
The errors I get are all the same
-Copying zip to temp directory
-Installing {Insert module title here}.zip
-Mounting /system, /vendor, /data, /cache
-Magisk is not activated!
Failed!

Root works, Magisk Hide works, SafetyNet works. I just cannot install and use modules in any way.
Hello.
Nobody has still solved this problem, please?
Unable to flash magisk modules.
! /data/adb/magisk_merge.img mount failed.
I was forced to install the normal xposed framework just to use it.
Root works; only modules have problems.
If someone finds a solution I flash again the system partition to have magisk and magisk modules.
Thank you in advance to everyone gives good news!
I have same issue except the trouble is after implement of fix to
data/adb/magisk img and magisk merge error
After Er implementation of f2fs workaround fix specifically for this type of error
I successfully :good: rebooted after flashing module just fr once it worked fine :fingers-crossed: later on after every unsuccessful reboot is there
Strucked to boot loop fixed by restoring from backup ...
Think this f2fs workaround is temporary fix and need another fix on this issue
And now there is magisk but cannot use even a single module not even. Xposed
The same issue here: Doogee mix 2, Android 7.1.1
Solution already?

Hey have you found a solution already? I've got the same problem..
Related
Upgraded to Magisk v15.0 and now when I run SafetyNet check I receive an API Error.
I am running Android 8.1 on Nexus 6P and have uninstalled Magisk using the Uninstaller and re-installed and still receive the same API error.
I've searched and read through quite a few threads and haven't come up with any fixes. Closest thing I found was a fix on the OnePlus forum.
Attached is a screenshot of the Magisk screen for reference.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
Clear Magisk Manager data and when you relaunch/open Magisk make sure you have a good internet connection cause you need that to download a files that help to check safetynet API when you click on Tap To Start Safetynet Check...

I had the same problem. I solved it by doing a clean install of Magisk (completely uninstall previous version, install new version).

You Can Simply Add A Google Account If You Dont Have Any To Solve This Problem. I Did The Same.
Guys i have the same problem and The most strange point is that it all came up after I fresh installed a rom I had been using for a while and had no problem. I tried like every solution here e.g. adding google account or clearing magisk data etc. with no joy.
Any help is appreciated
I recently upgraded from Magisk 12 to the latest 15 and found that the last 2 versions (1531 and 1540) seem to have compatibility issue with Xposed (89.2-sdk23-topjohnwu). With any of these 2 versions, Xposed Installer always show "installed but inactive" and none of the installed modules are enabled. Version 1530, however, works fine. Magisk Manager always show Magisk is installed successfully for all 3 versions. Root and SafetyNet (without Xposed) are successful too.
I've tried many advice but none of them fix this problem. Of course, I can stay in 1530 but I fear that I'm unable to try future versions.
My phone is a Xperia X Compact running Marshmallow stock ROM, kernel patched with TA PoC.

Hello, I'm meeting with an issue and couldn't find good info to solve the problem.
I installed Magisk Beta 16.3 and download the Xposed Framework SDK 26 (8.0) and Youtube Vanced. It installed them without issues but when I rebooted my phone there was no new app in the drawer.
• YES, I deactivated YouTube system app and uninstalled it, too. No working :crying:
• I tried to downgrade Magisk to 16.0 and reinstalled the modules but it didn't work
• Flashed the downloaded zip files via TWRP.... nothing!
HOW CAN I GET THE APPS SHOW UP IN THE DRAWER??
Please Help Me
****
Just if you want more info:
I have OnePlus 3T running a stock ROM with Oxygen 5.0.1 and Android 8.0
I use bluspark TWRP, that is the only one that I could get root permissions with, other recoveries (the official TWRP for example) bricked my phone
I have pretty much the same setup (minus Xposed) and have zero such issues.
Providing installation logs, Magisk log, debug log, etc would help...
Edit: if you installed the Xposed module provided by @topjohnwu you need to install the Xposed installer separately.

Debug Log and mat log are too long and I'm not allowed to post them here....
OK the problem is:
I delete YouTube --> Install YouTube Vanced Module through Magisk --> Reboot --> In the folder /system/app THE APK IS THERE but when I try to install it says "App not installed". So I have the APK in system folder but I can't see it in the drawer so I can't use that! HELP ME PLEASE I'm going crazy

You can check if it's a YouTube Vanced issue by installing another app module, like Greenify4Magisk. If that appears, it's likely a module issue.
I would try by not uninstalling YouTube completely, but only uninstalling updates. You can do this from the Play Store or in the three dot menu in "App Info". I have the module installed successfully on several devices, including my OP3T, and I only uninstall updates...

It installed them without issues but when I rebooted my phone there was no new app in the drawer.
• YES, I deactivated YouTube system app and uninstalled it, too. No working
• I tried to downgrade Magisk to 16.0 and reinstalled the modules but it didn't work
• Flashed the downloaded zip files via TWRP.... nothing!
I am using Moto E4 plus Xt1770 stock rom Android 7.1.1

• YES, I deactivated YouTube system app and uninstalled it, too. No working
• I tried to downgrade Magisk to 16.0 and reinstalled the modules but it didn't work
• Flashed the downloaded zip files via TWRP.... nothing!
I am using Moto E4 plus Xt1770 stock rom Android 7.1.1

I simply convert the stock youtube system app to user app by titanium backup then uninstall it normally after conversion after that I install the module as normal installation and it worked perfectly with me now I can use this app works perfectly. Thanks to the creator of this app
You must try this method hope this work
And please send me whether this worked or not

One reason why Youtube Vanced doesn't seem to be able to install, might be a bug with Magisk and how it uses the merge image when installing large modules through the Magisk Manager. That has been fixed in v16.6 (I don't know when it was introduced)... If this is what you're experiencing, the solution is to either use Magisk v16.6+ or install Youtube Vanced through TWRP.
Tôi đã làm theo cả 2 cách ở trên. It worked Thanks very much. Sorry for my English. My phone is Redmi note 5 pro and Rom Masik X 1.1
Not new here, but had to create another account.
I'm using Magisk 16.7 from beta release (updated withing app), and i have tried almost everything from here to pass the SafetyNet. While checking with Magisk, it says "Service not Responding".
Did something change with SafetyNet? Trying to use the Google Pay app. Hided it with MagiskHide, using the Magisk Core, using systemless...

Yes, Google updated their api so every app that wants to check safetynet has to be updated. changes to magisk have been committed on GitHub, I hope the next version of MM will fix it.
https://mobile.twitter.com/topjohnwu
I discovered and installed magisk today on my P9 lite, imagine my questions after seeing "response is invalid" in MM ^^
I'm having an issue with Magisk Manager modules not showing in my app drawer or anywhere else.
I have Magisk v18.1 and Magisk Manager v7.0.0 on my Samsung A3 2016 (A310F) running Android 7.0, SafetyNet passed.
I can download and install modules from Magisk Manager, however after reboot there is no sign of the app on the phone. The Downloads and Modules sections of Magisk Manager both show that the requested apps are installed.
I have TWRP Recovery, and have tried installing from the Recovery menu, however that doesn't work either.
All modules have this problem, I have tried it with several different ones.
I have also tried reinstalling Magisk as a direct installation from Magisk Manager, creating a MagiskManager folder on my internal storage, disabling the native YouTube app, none of which has worked.
These are the logs that I could find on my device:

TWRP RECOVERY LOG:
I'm happy to post this if needed, however it's very long and I didn't want to make this hard to read.
What can I do to fix this installation issue?
The only module you have installed, according to both the install log and Magisk log is App Systemizer and that doesn't come with an app. You run it through a terminal emulator. Take a look at the module documentation/thread for details.

Oddly, Magisk Manager (within the Modules section) showed that I also have Youtube Vanced installed, and I was certain that was supposed to have an app icon showing.
However, your comment made me try a different emulator than the one I already used to test App Systemizer (Terminal Emulator for Android from the Play Store), so I downloaded Termux instead and the commands worked! I'm not sure why, but I'm glad it is working.
This pushed me further to delve into the Youtube Vanced issue, and it turned out that requirement disabling auto updates on the native Youtube app, an option that I could not see on my device, only appeared after I re-enabled it, uninstalled it, and then searched for it again. Once I toggled the auto update option that was now visible, the Youtube Vanced app became visible in my app drawer.
Thank you very much for pointing me in the right direction.
