Hello everyone. In my attempt to experiment with custom ROMS yesterday, I seem to have sort of soft bricked my phone. When I install the stock OS, it installs fine, and I can start the phone. However, after it boots up, there are no apps. Just the clock at the top, the background, and the menu button in the bottom center (but pressing this button doesn't do anything). I can pull down the top menu and go to settings, but I don’t have access to anything else. Furthermore, after a couple minutes, the phone restarts itself. After this first restart, when its gets done booting, there is simply an empty black screen. The only way to get to the state mentioned before is to boot into bootloader, turn the phone off, and then turn it back on.
I’m wholly lost and out of ideas on how to go about troubleshooting this. Here is what I did yesterday to get to this point:
1. Unlocked the bootloader.
2. Flashed the latest Viper rom. It didn’t work; after booting up the phone was forever stuck on the Viper splash screen.
3. Flashed the stock Sprint HTC One rom. Again, after booting up the phone was forever stuck on the HTC splash screen.
4. Used TWRP to format all the data.
5. Flashed the stock Sprint HTC One rom again. This time it worked just fine. At this point, I thought I had discovered a valid method for fixing my soft bricked phone, so I decided to experiment with Viper and Android Revolutions roms to see if I could get them to work. I followed the process of installing a custom rom, getting stuck on the splash screen, formatting the data, then reinstalling the stock rom 3 times. On all three times the stock rom worked when I installed it. However, on the 4th iteration of this cycle, I reached the state I described above.
I tried using the RUU utility, but it doesn’t work (I get a signature verification error). I can enter bootloader and recovery without issue.
I've had this happen to me, Make sure that you re-lock your bootloader before the RUU
fastboot oem lock
I believe this will allow the RUU to start up right and repair. Lemme know how that goes.

Do you mean you have had the same blank screen problam as well? Or RUU wouldn't work for you?
I'm pretty sure i relocked the bootloader when I tried doing the RUU, but I will definitely try again. Unfortunately, I'm on a trip at the moment, so I'm not sure when I'll be able to look at it again (hopefully Saturday or Tuesday).
So I bought a ME70CX yesterday, and the first thing I did was root & debloat it. Unfortunately I removed Google Play services while at it, and discovered Play Store wouldn't work. So I restored to factory settings to recover the apps, and now I am stuck in the Setup Wizard, at the Wi-Fi part. When choosing a Wi-Fi to connect to, the tablet first tries to connect for 20-30 seconds before crashing, which restarts the wizard from the beginning. I have tried flashing with firmware, but it returns the error message "No detect APD image file. skip!" Followed by "Can't find image file". This causes the flash to fail.
So basically what I am looking for is an answer to the following questions:
Can I repair it? Can I uninstall the Setup in order to bypass it, or bypass it any other way?
Or a guide to flash firmware for this particular model.
Thanks
Just today i flashed CyanogenMod Lollipop 12.1 on the phone. Everything ran smoothly and stuff. I didn't like the boot animation very much so though id flash the default Android L boot animation. Here was my error.
In a hurry i followed the instructions from here not realising this is for the Moto G...!!!
I have philz recovery installed but after flashing the zip i rebooted the phone and it just displays some artifacts during bootup and then the screen goes blank ...!!!! it boots up normal and connecting the phone to the PC shows up the device and sd card. I know the phones working fine coz it unlocks and places calls (randoms touches here and there did that)
Also a major blunder was i FORGOT TO ENABLE USB DEBUGGING...!!!
So now im locked out with no display and no way of enabling USB Debugging.... ANY tips or ideas... I know i have to reinstall recovery.
is there any way of enabling adb without the display...??? PLEASE HELP....!!!!
Why can't you just rsdlite to stock, root, install recovery and start your way from there again.
rsdlite flashing is handled be the bootloader, and if it is actually corrupted then it would be pretty hard to flash back to stock. My suggestion is to see if you can access the boot menu by holding down both volume buttons along with the power button. From there, select AP Fastboot and connect it to your computer.
Phone starts to boot normally, then as soon as android starts and it shows the lock screen, it initiates another reboot. It loops this infinitely. Before this it was starting to grow unstable and was doing random crashes like this, but now it just crashes instantly as soon as it hits the lock screen on boot.
ROM is Mokee and my TWRP is 3.3.1-0. I can enter Recovery in TWRP atleast. Seems to be working fine inside there.
I would like to reset it, but my 2FA is attached, and so I need to get into the phone long enough to disengage all of them.
What can I do here?
Here's hoping:
Is there a way to backup Google 2FA from within TWRP so I can restore my phone and bring back Google Authenticator just the way it was?
Hi guys,
i am trying to login to my pixel 5 (android 12 beta1), when i set the pin it goes back to the lockscreen.
If I try a wrong pin it says it is wrong.
I did a wipe data but booting the phone is again asking for the PIN. Digiting it it goes back to the previous screen (if I want to move data from preious phones).
I Can't use fastboot for flashing beacuse now i don't have enabled the USB debug.
Any advice?
Thanks
I managed to flash via ADB but i am facing still the same issue.
if i try to bypas the frp with the google account it goes back to the previous screen as weel.
have you tried booting to recovery and selecting factory reset from there?
