I have some questions for the Huawei P9 users out there... We are trying to use to P9 in a class and want to use an external mic (Rode smartLAV) to record audio during video recordings. I know this has been asked in this thread but it seems like there wasn't an answer then.
The stock video recording app in MM doesn't have any way to select audio capture source, and it looks like other apps like Filmic Plus don't work either. However, I know it can be used because the audio recording app works just fine with the mic.
Here are some questions for you all:
Does Nougat fix this? Is there a way to use an external mic in Android 7 for video?
Do any custom ROMs provide this functionality?
Do any video recording apps allow for external mic input? Cinema FV-5 doesn't work for our phone unfortunately. Any others?
Thanks very much for your help!

FIRST: THIS ONLY APPLIES TO SONY'S STOCK FIRMWARE, I HAVE NO IDEA HOW IT'S ON CUSTOM ROMS! THIS WILL NOT FIX ANY HARDWARE ISSUES!
Hey guys, a quick advice for you concerning the noise during video capture/sound recording:
Recording sound(via app or video) didn't work although I wasn't rooted so all system apps should still be there. I thought it was some kind of bug. Then, by coincidence, I found a little app that I seem to have deactivated which is called "Sound recorder"(or similar). Just activating it once again solved my problem. It's no dedicated sound recording app, it won't show up on the app drawer. It's needed by sound recording and video apps.
I hope it may be helpful for somebody who did the same mistake as I and wondered why the sound in video captures was...just not there
Cheers!
unfortunately, it doesn't work for me. video recording after activating the app still no go
thx for the suggestion though
Hi !
As you know, the Google Camera app do not detect an external microphone for audio recording during video capture, which is very awful for extreme environments. We have to use a 3rd party app (like Cinema FV-5), but we loose the stabilization on the Google Pixel.
The idea is to sync the video (captured with the Google Camera app) with the audio recorded thanks to Easy Voice Recorder (or Recordr), which lets us using a 3.5 external microphone.
But I'm not very familiar with Tasker. So, have you an idea how to do that ? The goal is to begin the audio and video recording at the exact same time.
Thanks for your help !
It seems that it is impossible to use the Google Camera and another app which uses the microphone at the same time.
I tried to revoke the microphone permission of Google Camera but the app doesn't want to work after that.
The profils (and tasks) are very easy to build but there is no way for them to work because of this restriction.
Any ideas, please ?

Hello everyone. I would like to record videos with the internal audio of Android, I have the latest version and I have root access released. After much searching I found a screen recorder that is able to do this, but you need to have xposed installed. Has anyone here installed xposed on this version of Android? Is there any risk of softbrick happening? Please tell me posts about. Is there any other simpler way to record videos with internal audio?
I've been using Mobizen for SAMSUNG app that did it all (Internal Audio, 60fps, >12Mbps, 1920x1080). It didn't require a ROOTed phone either. However, just recently their apps purposefully stopped recording Internal Audio.
I'm not interested in the screen recorder from "Game Launcher" (since it starts recordings within apps, instead of the Android home screen). I'm not interested in the "Nice Shot" plugin Good Luck since it only records at 30fps.
Is there ANY app that doesn't have any restrictions like Mobizen used to? Has anyone figured out how to force Mobizen to record Internal audio again by installing an older version and/or using Lucky Patcher on it? Surely, there has to be someone who's figured out a solution.

Hi there.
So I'm using P40 pro with freebuds 3 headset. Recently I'm into vlogging with my gf, and I'm wondering is there a way to use the freebuds 3 as a wireless mic/audio source for video recording with the native camera app?? The internal mic of the phone picks up too much surrounding voice, and I can't shoot too far from my gf (as the host), to pick up her voice.
I can do this if I'm recording with cinema FV5 apk, but we prefer using the native camera app. I can use the built-in beautify filter, and the image stabilisation is better imo.
I'm on emui 11.0.0.259, with gms installed, if that helps.
Thank you.
