Bought OP3T but china version, JIO VOLTE question - OnePlus 3T Questions & Answers

Dear Friends,
Recently bought the OP3T, but after delivery came to know that its a china model. Since i m in gulf now and 4G works. Somebody please confirm if the JIO VOLTE works on the 3010 model. I have some more days to change the phone. If JIO is not supported, will move to some other phone.

I'm in A3010 and I can confirm that voLTE works on my phone, it depends on your ISP you can contact them for further details

Moto X 2013 owners in India (Reliance Jio LTE band support)

Any Moto X 2013 owners in India got their phone to work on Reliance Jio network?
This phone supports 4G LTE bands 2(1900), 4(1700/2100), 5(850), 17(700) - US and 3(1800), 7(2600), 20(800) - EU.
If I'm not mistaken Jio uses LTE band 3(1800), 40(2300) India for their network so technically we should be able to use it right?
Even if VoLTE has not been enable on the firmware level by Motorola but still their JioVoice app should do the trick.
But the issue is right now their latest app is not generating any bar code on Moto X(2013) phones, that old apk method might work but I just wanted to make sure if the effort is even worth it.
Anyone already using Jio on their Gen 1 Moto X? Please respond. Thanks in advance.
looks like what u predicted is true!
I have been using the jio on my moto x(ghost) Indian retail variant for about a month and I have to say it just works fine without any issues.
Note:-the VOLTE SUPPORT IS NOT PRESENT SO USE JIO4GVOICE APP FOR CALLS
See attached pics for proof

Thanks so much for the response. :good:
BTW did you use the old apk method because the latest versions fail to generate the damn barcode on my X2013? And any reliable link for the apk?
Also did you try tinkering with the VoLTE Provisioned Flag from the INFO mode(*#*#4636#*#*)?
Though I doubt that it will make any difference without VoLTE enabled on a firmware level by Motorola like they did with the Moto X Play with a firmware update but still worth a shot I guess.
Thanks again.
Actually it was the case that I generated the barcode on my friend's moto g3 and then I plugged the sim in my moto x and in that case it worked fine and flawlessly.
Another thing:-i just went in to the info. Mode and set the Freq. To "LTE only".
One more thing:-if u want then still u can generate the code by the old jio (v 3.2.05) app.the app will show the "get the jio sim" only when all jio apps are installed.
For the old version of my jio app just Google it by mentioning the version u will easily get some down links
Ah I see. Thanks again.
moto x xt1060
I have a Moto x xt1060, it was working very good in india with airtel but recenty i just put a jio 4g sim to check if it support or not hten when i inserted my airtel sim again there is not network, its says 'sim card is not from verizon wireless' plz help me what to do? in recovery mode it says device is locked status code 0
I used the jio sim in the device officially sold in India I.e. the xt1052 variant.this same variant was also sold in Europe and so this model had no issues running the sim.
Moreover Verizon is a cdma carrier in US while the jio in India is completely based on the gsm carrier.
U might not get support for sim as of lack of the proper bands or as of the improper unlock.

no lte with at&t

I have tried everything I can come up with or find on the internet. Change apn, have at&t add imei, swap out some cards etc. Can not get LTE to work on my OnePlus 3t. I love the phone but... Am I missing something? I see people claiming that they have LTE working but I can't seem to get it to work.
its a probability that you have a Chinese phone , i just have the saqme situation as you , i tried everything , from:
Tried all the same as you
i try with another sim card from another carrier
and nothing work ,inclusive i mailed the guy who sell me the phone (because it was a used phone) and he swear to me that it was the US version , because i started to have some doubts about the version of my phone.
the last thing i did , and recommend that do the same is email one plus and send them you IMEI number , and as i suspect , it was a Chinese phone
I ended returning the phone to the seller , and buying a one plus 3t directly from one plus website , after waiting some time , i get the phone , put my lte/4g sim card from att , turn it on , and you know what i did have lte/4g service as soon as it connect to the network.

It is model A3010 TD-LTE which understand is the US version.

Why do you think that you don't have LTE?
Says H+ in status bar and speed tests would indicate that I don't have LTE. Only 8-10mbs download.

The international model won't have VoLTE or Wifi calling for US operators.
Theoretically, you could rebrand to the AT&T Mate 10 Pro and get Wifi calling for T-Mobile and AT&T.

1. Load up internet Explorer and go to https://emui.huawei.com/en/plugin/unlock/detail.
2. Make an account saying your are from Hong Kong.
3. Paste "https://emui.huawei.com/en/plugin/unlock/detail" back in the URL Bar.

Want to buy the BLA-L29 but have questions:
Hi and thanks for any assistance you can provide:
1. I am buying the Huawei Mate 10 Pro BLA-L29 Version -- In the US, will VoLTE and WiFi Calling work with T-Mobile?
2. If no on my first question, if I re-branded it to the AT&T ALP-L29, then will VoLTE and WiFi Calling work on T-Mobile?
3. And I am confused -- Isn't the ALP-L29 for the Huawei Mate 10 and not the Mate 10 Pro? Is it OK to re-brand The Mate 10 Pro with the Mate 10 software and will everything still work on the Pro correctly?
4. Last Question: If I am only using 1 sim card and I am on a phone call, will I be able to browse the web at 4G LTE or will it drop to 3G while I am on the call? This was my experience with an international version of the P9 Plus. So I am just doing my homework before I buy the Huawei Mate 10 Pro BLA-L29.
Thanks!

As far as I know there are territorially different versions of Mate 10 but only 2 versions of Mate 10 pro (BLA-L09 -one sim and BLA_L29 -two sims). Me personally have L29 and it supports both VoLTE and WIFI calling (if operator supports them). And according to specs from Huawei (http://consumer.huawei.com/en/phones/mate10-pro/specs/ and confirmation from technical support) both works on FDD-LTE bands 1/2/3/4/5/6/7/8/9/12/17/18/19/20/26/28/32. Therefore they would be fine with either Tmobile or ATT since LTE of these operators leans mainly on lower bands 700 MHz (17 for ATT and 12 for Tmobile). And yes, two sims version (L29) operates on LTE simultaneously, you can even forward call from one sim to other. So there is no need to rebrand the phone or mess with the system otherwise. The phone operates pretty fair in its original state.
Hope that you find this information useful. Do not hesitate to ask additional questions. I'd be glad to help if I could.
Thanks but see this message from FunkyHuawei
"No, VoLTE and Wifi calling will not work.
If you rebrand to AT&T which is not ALP but BLA-A09, it will work.
AT&T is not ALP, it's BLA
If you have VoLTE, you'll still be connected to LTE when you're on a call."
So essentially FunkyHuawei, those nice folks who try to help you get your Huawei devices working the way you need them to are saying the BLA-L variants won't allow VoLTE in the USA but the AT&T version on the Mate 10 Pro will allow it so they are suggesting unlocking bootloader and rebranding it to BLA-A09. So another variant has appeared planned for US release only on AtT as BLA-A09...
It's the 1 Sim 4gb version just like the L09.
Are you using your L29 in the US and on what carrier?
Thanks for your help.
I would prefer to get the BLA-L29 anyhow.

Kevin

No, I'm currently not in the USA, but I travell a lot and therefore the problem is interesting for me as well. And yes, the people with FunkyHuawei are right about BLA-A09 (Huawei Blanc). But the real question is how come that VoLTE dosn't work with ATT and how to remedy that issue with as less pain as possible.
Checking https://www.frequencycheck.com/models/GBYLg/huawei-mate-10-pro-td-lte-bla-a09-huawei-blanc and other relevant sites shows that as far as hardware is concern BLA-A09 is equal BLA-L09. So where is the differece? It seems that ATT doesn't brand phones only by putting some bloatware but use some restrictions as well. There is no hardware or software difference on using VoLTE anywhere in the world and as you could see from attached pictures Mate 10 Pro functions so that it simply shows in the menu options to enable either VoLTE or WIFI calling or both if the operator supports them. Otherwise those options simply don't appear.
Mobile operators in the USA have pretty strong position, they can decide which phone and how may be connected to their networks. And ATT obviously decided that only branded phones from its side could use VoLTE (...Even the pixel didn't work because of AT&T's restrictions - https://forum.xda-developers.com/essential-phone/help/volte-wifi-calling-sms-att-t3665838).
So the essential question is how that restriction works. There are some indicators that it is on the hardware side (https://forums.att.com/t5/Device-Features/VOLTE-calls/td-p/5273138). That would be good because the chances are that incorporation of BLA-A09 model automatically draws all same models into the story. The worst case would be if the VoLTE availability is assigned individually, in that case rebranding doesn't solve anything.
Why concerns about rebranding? Because it is trade off. You need to unlock bootloader and install custom recovery in order to rebrand the phone. It is not only a bit risky procedure, it draws other consequences. One of nice features I would be hardly missing is Android Pay. It doesn't work with unlocked bootloader and TWRP. And even more apps connected with SafetyNet are to come.
From time to time there is bypass with Magisk but it is a mouse and a cat game, Google try hard to purges its effect. And you don't want to rely on payment solution which wouldn't work when is needed.
So my advise is, if you want 2 sims Mate Pro, don't hurry with rebranding. Wait until other options are researched and see if all models could have ATT Volte enabled. Last but not least in the USA Google Voice could be useful additional possibility. And I don't have VoLTE with my primary operator but WIFI calling works perfect. Even ordinary calling is clear and natural with HD voice enabled.

On Huawei phones, VoLTE is a software issue. There may be IMEI blocks and whatnot on the carrier end, but there is a software block on the software end. It's been proven that if you rebrand a Mate 9 to the US branding, you get VoLTE in the US, on T-Mobile anyway. If not, you don't.
There is a file which dictates whether or not to allow VoLTE on various providers, and the configuration of this file is different for each branding. It's as simple as that.
As far as I know for most of us, volte only works with "carrier branded firmware".
Trying to get BLA-L29 VoLTE to work on T-Mobile
So - According to T-Mobile, they have NO restrictions being the un-carrier. They stated that it has to be on the Mate 10 Pro BLA-L29 end that is restricting the VoLTE options from even showing up on my settings on the phone. Yet, I contacted Huawei International Technical support and they seem to believe that the BLA-L29 should support VoLTE as long as the carrier supports it. They took my IMEI, software build, etc.. and are looking into it. I will reply on this forum if they come back to me with a solution to getting VoLTE to work in the US on T-Mobile.
The EXCELLENT and AMAZING guy over at Funkyhuawei had someone try the ATT re-branding onto a BLA-L29 and still no dice with the VoLTE showing up or working with T-Mobile. So - If anyone has any ideas how to get VoLTE working on my BLA-L29 version, I am all ears. Some people ask - what does it matter if you get VoLTE as long as 4G LTE is working on the phone and you are getting great download speeds -- My reply is because when I make a phone call, that signal drops from 4G to 3G or to H and then I cannot browse the web while on a phone call which I tend to do a lot. I mean I can browse the web, but at 3G speeds, it is basically unusable. Takes like 30 seconds for google.com to load. LOL. We have all become spoiled by LTE and we want our speed!
Lastly - Does anyone know if the version they are releasing on AT&T will be locked to AT&T? Or are AT&T phones sold unlocked or unlockable? Though the fact that VoLTE didn't work on the AT&T rebranded BLA-L29, I am not sure if it will even work on AT&T when they actually release the phone.

Thank you for looking into this, I am very curious to hear what Huawei/Tmobile concludes about VoLTE support on this international brand, because this is the exact situation I am about to be in (mine is coming from Ebay tomorrow!)
Unfortunately I can't answer most of your questions because they are ones I am looking for an answer to as well, but your last one I can shed the little bit of light I have on it.
According to Duurara on the FunkyHuawei thread, he said that the AT&T brand will work on Tmobile, but he had also said that branding to the AT&T firmware should also enable VoLTE working across either AT&t or Tmobile. But if you are saying that is not true, then we may not have any full answers yet and you may be our saving grace to these questions.
Best of luck and keep us updated please!

SM-N960F/DS VoLTE Enable

Hey guys. I got screwed buying a note 9 off of ebay because the seller in the USA did not say it was an international model SM-N960F/DS. I use t-mobile and don't have VoLTE, or VoWifi. Can someone walk me through the process on how to enable this through whatever means necessary. I'm not an idiot with technology and phones but also I have never flashed a new rom or anything. Thanks in advance for your help

Am afraid you can't get VoLTE enabled on the T-Mobile USA network with the international SM-G960F model
You needed the UN-branded US-model SM-N960U or SM-N960U1, or the BRANDED T-Mobile model SM-N960T
Hey it aint no screw i would love a f model in US

I cannot vouch for it's effectiveness,but,the dev/user is known here @ XDA.
I'd definitely message 'em before use.
If you use this, please post your results here, lots of people here would be interested & thankful for any info/user results. :good:
With the International model you probably wont be able to get wifi calling or VoLTE working on Tmobile

Guy is legit. He's done wonders on previous models. If he says it works, I would say it does.

You will be able to get VoLTE option in the International version. Just insert VoLTE capable sim from your provider and restart the phone. I have tried it with an Indian sim and works perfect. Once you remove the card, VoLTE option disappears.

Does not work in on Thailand phones. Tried my volte sim in a n960f/ds and volte option does not appear

I have TMO with VoLTE/WifiCalling working on the F/DS model ordered through ebay with an original CSC of MYM (Thailand/Unknown). You have to have root, make a backup with TWRP, and use the detonator from the thread posted above TekHD's thread. Go to their telegram channel there is more support there and an updated version from bigTINY on TekHD's channel. Do some more reading on it but it is possible to get all your carrier features enabled on the international phone.

Your not alone. My samsung Galaxy Note 9 has the same problem. Yet it in my network information 4glte app it says my phone has volte enabled yet it doesn't work or seem to work for anyone?
After updated to N960FXXS3CSG1, the VOLTE and VOWIFI not work
I am considering picking up a SM-N960F/DS Samsung Galaxy Note 9, installing LineageOS 17.1 with MicroG and use with T-Mobile in the US. I have read that certain T-Mobile Services don't work out of the box, however, I have also read of a TMO Detonator configuration that can be installed which restores those missing features. Is anyone able to share their experience with this Note 9 version on T-Mobile? Did you use TMO Detonator? If so, did TMO Detonator fix all the T-Mobile compatibility issues? If not, which features are still missing? Does Carrier Aggregation work? If not, what LTE Data speeds are possible? Are you happy with the SM-N960F/DS Note 9 experience on T-Mobile? Is there still a site which holds the TMO Detonator File/Package along with Instructions? Any other thoughts or advice? Thanks for your time.

XQ-AT52 - Activating on Verizon

I'm having trouble activating the XQ-AT52 on Verizon (current service provider), the SIM is registering in the phone but I'm getting no service.
When I try to activate via Verizon online it tells me the IMEI is incompatible.
But when I try to use IMEI checkers on any other US carriers (t-mobile, att&t) it gives me a similar error?
Is the XQ-AT52 just not compatible in the US?
The IMEI isn't in the carrier database for T Mobile and ATT but that doesn't mean it won't work. This device works on GSM networks, not CDMA which means it won't work on Verizon

I am using my Xperia 1 II which is the O2 version from UK on AT&T without problem. I get LTE+ speeds up to 100mbps. The only problem so far has been when I go to call setting to enable call forwarding, it gives me a sim/network error. Changed the sim still same error but other than this no real issues

No VoLTE. Not surprising, I have the XQ-AT52. Did you check and see if there is a US customization you can flash with your version?

AFAIK, if you contact Verizon and ask them to activate the device as CDMA-less (or just ask them to set up your line as CDMA-less) you should be good to go for at least data. VoLTE is a different story, you might need a US customization for that.

Is there any benefit to installing that firmware if I don't care about VoLTE which is a pain to get to work with AT&T
anyway?

It might not, but I'd much prefer to have & work with a Rom that was built for my region(North America)
than one that is built for South Asia, IMHO.

Hi good morning where the files for US customization.
So I'm in a similar situation, I purchased an xq-at52 that was flashed with US firmware and verizon can't help me. Well, they're working on it, but it seems to more of an issue than just provisioning my line as cdma-less. I recently had success with a oneplus 7t so I figured the sony would be just as easy. Does anyone have a success story with the xq-at52 on verizon??
