Who Use MIUI 8.1.4 ROM ? - Xiaomi Mi 5 Questions & Answers

Who use MIUI 8.1.4 MM(Last Marshmallow MIUI Update )?
I bought 10 day ago Mi 5 Prime black open box and flash fastboot 8.2.2 mıuı rom. I'm not use old miui rom.
I'm use 8.2.2 and I read en.miui forum and everyone say 8.2.2 rom is bad, bad battery life, heat issue and worse wifi signal
And now I'm flash 8.1.4 MIUI Rom from fastboot
I'm test Tomorrow 8.1.4 rom I hope better battery life
( my 8.2.2 miui rom s.o.t 5-5.5 )
Really 8.1.4 better than 8.2.2 ?
sorry for my bad english :fingers-crossed:

I'm on 8.3 EU now and same issues. It overheating as hell when I'm on my gps

Update to MIUI 8 Nougat based

Hello, I'm new to mi5.
I have installed TWRP and rooted, im on 8.1.2.0 global stable, how do i update to nougat based miui? Is it possible via flashing in TWRP?
Thank you, have a good day......
Just download recovery rom.zip then go into twrp, wipe system/data/cache then flash it, you can download official global dev 7.1.19 recovery rom from here and else stable 8.1.9.0 (based 7.0) or beta (7.1.19/20) from xiaomi.eu here
Is Nougat better than MM? How about camera quality Nougat compare to MM? And about battery life which is better? Can somebody give a review?

Both of camera quality it's same..the difference just can't enabling raw support at 8.1.9.0 xiaomi.eu rom based 7.0, for battery life..still not as good like MM based rom, but for ram management in N better than MM based rom.

Thanks for review miui N. Have you try cusrom based on N? Maybe lineageos 14.1, RR or others? How about camera quality on custom rom based nougat? Still same quality with miui or worse? Thx

Already tried some cusrom like LOS and XOSP..but not yet RR..for camera quality i'm not too sure..but i think not too much different..it's slightly poor than miui (maybe)..but for raw shot that i tried..it's same as miui result..and about battery life..i can't much comment..coz i just try using each cusrom only a few hours..then back to miui again..but for speed and smooth..i don't know what causing this..but i feel in XOSP more speed and smooth than LOS.
But beside that all..for daily used i just can recommended it to you is stable of xiaomi.eu rom than official miui, coz xiaomi.eu rom already optimized for global user and ofcourse free bloatware of miui rom.
Is miui nougat based global stable rom released ?

Not yet still on alpha beta development. They release new beta version to beta tester every week.
The global beta is already release for public, so everyone can try. But it's buggy in some cases, still on development.

battery life

until i flashed lineage os and i dont like it than i flashed stock miui8 global and flashed global dev rom with recovery.. after this my battery isn't good wich was until i flashed LOS what can i do for get good battery life..

Best alternative ROM to flash

Hello all.
I just received my mi9 and I don't like at all this stock MIUI rom.
First thing, where can I see if I have the EEA, or global ROM ?
And secondly, after unlocking my device and flashing twrp, what rom could be the best ? Maybe xiaomi.eu, revolutionOS, flokoRom ?
No AOSP based ROM at the moment ( I would love to flash an AOSP based ROM , like my good old One plus 3 )
And battery life is just horrible in stock ROM..

Just a quick question? Which stock rom you are you on? MIUI have several versions of stock just in a few months.....

You could try GSI roms, but they are not stable enough for me right now.
Im now on ROS. With magisk and lawnchair it's running great and feels a lil bit like aosp. Better than stock

You should read the FAQ and forum before asking such questions, as a senior member you should know that
Anyways, unlocking usually requires a 15 day waiting / grace-period, so I'd start doing that now and you'll have another two weeks to read all the ROM/flash/root topics here.

Miui EU rom's are said to have better battery life and ram management than the global.
This is not .EU rom its MIUI MIX . It has better battery life and performance than EU rom

That's it? Just battery life? Then I guess I'm just gonna keep Xiaomi.eu on.

The link is working now
Will the project be further developed?
Which Android version does it have?
Any update ?
Did anyone try it?
How is it compared to xiaomi.eu in terms of stability, performance and battery?
How smooth is the installation process? Can you still follow .eu install guide since it's based on it?
Is it compatible with the LULZ kernel?
update:
I tried it, the battery life is REALLY good, especially in standby, only consuming 0-1% overnight compared to xiaomi.eu and Global that both use about 4-6% in my experience.
The installation is very smooth, exactly the same as xiaomi.eu, ROM is compatible with LULZ and Magisk 20.4, it comes with an earlier version but the update works fine.
However the 11.0.8.0 is a very buggy release based on a very old build of MIUI that has a lot of small issues and glitches.
I switched to xiaomi.eu without wiping data which worked without issues and updated to Android 10, still no data wipe and still working fine.
Would love to see a more polished release based on 11.0.11.0 Android 9 or 11.0.1.0 Android 10 with amazing battery life and no bugs.

[Miui 12] Slow or bad battery life? Downgrade to miui 11 Android 10

I had suffered a degradation of performance over the past year and a bit. After many clean reinstalls and installing every update I felt like my phone just wasn't lasting a day and was hitching.
I'd looked into going back due to loss of support, and I'm so glad I did.
I highly recommend going back to miui 11, as it appears to be optimised for our device. Unlike miui 12/12.5. I had forgotten just how powerful our device actually is.

which version did you install. The latest 11.0.8.0?
12.5.6 is giving me really bad screen on time (around 2 hours)
12.5.5 was far better.. i will give 11 another try and see how things are going with that version.

sadly 11.0.8.0 does not support Widevine L1 - I had it installed for about 4 weeks now (Battery life is okay, sometimes Rom is a bit buggy). I will return to 12.5.5 again and decide on which one i will stay.
What's the battery life like on Xiaomi EU v11.0.8? Like, give me some SOT stats.
Have you guys tried MokeeOS on Android 10? It's still being updated as of September 2022.

I just tried it yesterday and it is pretty damn good on battery life. Idle battery drain was about 1% after 13 hours, compared to 1% every 45 mins or 1 hour on HavocOS (A11).
I think A10 ROMs are still better optimized for our phone.

Is that 8 hours from 100% down to 0%?
So about 4.8 minutes per 1% drain then?
No rom for this phone works as well as miui 10.3.5 based on android9. All others(stock miui 11,12,12.5 and xiaomi.eu roms) get progressively slower. Xiaomi.eu roms do better than stock but it still does not work as well as 10.3.5
