Instructions for rooting:
1) Back up TA if not already done so
2) Unlock Bootloader
3) Extract 5.0.2 FTF from PC Companion download
4) Extract 5.0.2 kernel
5) Flash new FTF in full
6) Flash any CWM kernel
7) Load CWM and install root
7) Flash 5.0.2 kernal from FTF
8) Restore TA
8) Done!
NOTE: 1)You can use recovery once only i.e. before flashing kernel
after the device is booted recovery will be lost and when you again try to install dual recovery by nut device will get bricked
2)I TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY IF YOUR PHONE GETS BRICKED

[RECOVERY] ALL Stock recovery.img and boot.img for ZD551KL (Z00T)

Hi All,
So Marshmallow 6.0 was just released today for ZD551KL Zenfone Selfie and I had basically trouble upgrading manually since I already have unlocked bootloader and have TWRP flashed instead of the original recovery.img which is needed to do the manual firmware upgrade from ASUS.
Since I no longer have my original recovery.img I was able to find the complete list of recovery.img, I'm glad someone uploaded it and i was able to find it.
If you're having trouble upgrading to Marshmallow from LP because of TWRP installed, flash the stock 1.15.40.1582 first and then flash the ASUS official MM firmware.

I think you need to update to latest LP firmware so that boot and recovery img get updated. Then it might not stuck at verifying update package. Although it did took time around 10 minutes in my Z00L to complete verifying image process while upgrading to MM.

well, I've been waiting for about 1 hour. What I did was to install the recovery from this thread then the latest L update, so I can also get the latest recovery, then tried updating to M. Adb sideload doesn't seem to work. I'll try once again.

I am not sure but wiping system through fastboot might help.
Might lead devs like @sziraqui can help you on this more precisely.

No need to flash stock recovery and last lollipop update. Just flash twrp and then use this guide

In the end I have simply placed the update zip in the internal memory and that did the job, I'll use twrp to flash the smoothified room when it's available for Z00T. Thanks anyway!

I also had cm13 installed, now want to go back to asus stock rom WW-1.15.40.1582, I have installed original boot and recovery from link posted in original post, however when I try flashing through adb I am getting error 'can not read zip' while installing from sd card I get message 'verifying update package' and it goes back to recovery home screen thereafter
Please help

Did u whipe data before update..?
Reboot ur phone first and wait after loading complete try to update..

Friend the link AnaOka gaves you contain official ota update.which can only be installed on fresh stock s225 mm rom.

Only unrooting will not work.According to my experience you have to first flash the stock s225 with sp flashtool then only you can successfully install ota update s228

Hi, I would've asked if they could tell me someone help me how to return the original rom on my Honor 5C (Nem-L21). Currently I have recorded CM13 (Meticulus). Or whether they can be uploaded at least some custom rom with EMUI. Please help me.

Do u have the system dump as instructed by Meticulus to return back to stock?

I can never find the official rom for Nem-L21 or official recovery. I tried to Nem-L22 (india version, Android 6.0.1), but failed ... I flash recovery for Nem-L22 and the firmware file UPDATE.APP move to a folder "dload" on the SD card, but crashed on 5%.
now downloading stock rom (Bulgarian version, EMUI 4.1, Android 6.0), I'll try as soon as the download (about 5 hours), but i dont have a official recovery for Nem-L21

if you can change to Nem-L21 or something else, not against it, but I want to EMUI original firmware to my phone.

Just use huawei update extractor, and extract the update app. There u will find recovery.img. Simply extract that and flash it.

Honor 5C can't flash nougat

Hi guys.
I'm having problem with flashing nougat on my NEM-L21C432B132. I'm on 6.0 at the moment and I used both dload folder on sdcard method and Firmware Finder. Tried different versions and I keep getting warning saying "incompatibility with current version". How do I solve this ?
I have no root, stock recovery, unlocked bootloader. I thought it could be because of unlocked BL, but I cannot seem to lock it as "fastboot oem lock" doesn't work for me.

You can download full firmware and flash it via dload method..

I tried using the dialpad code and going to "Software Update" and tried the 3 buttons (VOL UP, DOWN and POWER ON ) method and I get the same error. Can I just install TWRP and flash the .zips I get from extracting the update.app file ?
EDIT: Just tried TWRP. I get error 7 and the flashing procedure doesn't even start

At the moment I have full firmware downloaded from Huawei Firmware Finder
The one called exactly : NEM-L21C432B352 FullOTA-MF . I believe that's the right one ? If not, which one is ?

Its not in update.app format right??
You can download full firmware from honor official site according to your model and build number..and then try to flash..

It is in .zip format but I extract it and put the update.app into dload folder. I will try to download from honor official site and let you guys now if there's any progress.
EDIT: just had a look on the website. There's no firmware for Honor 5C there. Can anyone point me how can I make nougat work and where do I download the right files ?

You dont need to relock boot loader for ota..or upgrade..
All you have to be on stock recovery

Hello,
I have extracted the update.app from the 6.0 version, flashed boot.img and recovery.img through fastboot, and my phone found the update even without using the Firmware Finder..strange but I have downloaded it and flashed without problems. My bootloader didn't even lock after flashing which happens from what I've read. Anyway I'm on the newest firmware ATM and also it's rooted. Maybe someone can explain that in case anyone had a similar problem in the future ?

What was the size of OTA? If it was 300-400 MB then it would not harm for bootloader or recovery

OTA normally doesn't lock bootloader. Have seen this in my 5X.
