Need Help with Blu R1 HD, new to all this stuff. - BLU R1 HD Questions & Answers

So i just recently bought this Blu R1 HD, and was wondering if i can install another Android OS onto so that i dont get amazon ads anymore or any amazon app for that instance. Im new to all this Android lingo like bootloader, root, etc.... Can someone tell me if its possible, and if so how do i do it? or point me to the right place that has a tutorial on how to do it. I tried looking at youtube but i dont understand anything they are talking about. I need everything dumbed down.
Thank You!

Yamadeen, I just very recently went thru the same questions and it is a bit confusing at first but there are a lot of guides and members willing to help and share some knowledge.
The very first thing for you to do is to figure out what version you are currently running on your phone. If the latest, which I forgot the version number right now, then you could face some challenges and obstacles in the process - if possible at all.

Firerat's help really needed...not g1 related

i know it's not the right section or even appropriate at all but help is really needed.
ok first... hi,
again i know it is not appropriate and i hope that i'm not bothering Firerat.
well, i have a little problem.
i have a g1 which runs great and everything.
my fiancée saw my phone and she really got interested in it specially the market feature and she wanted one.
so i bought her a htc legend which sent her over the moon.
after starting it for the first time and after completing the setup she ran to menu looking for the market to get some games and guess what there is no market anywhere to be found and she stated crying "women" and i really don't know what to do as she refuse to root her phone or miss with it's stock status.
so i'll really appreciate it of u help me, telling me what to do. can i like acquire a market apk of any other phone and flash it through fast boot if possible or what...please help
yours
adham
p.s. i live in egypt and that's where i bought the phone "from a vodafone retail store"
This should NOT be directed at a specific user.
This is a very general question that ANYONE can answer.
The answer is this:
YOU have root access on YOUR phone, so download games or whatever from there and copy the apk off of it and install to hers.

[Q] Just bought a Nookcolor....

and i am a complete android noob. i have never had any android based devices. i am an iphone owner. any tips/hints on where to start? ive looked through the forums but im nothing but confused at the terms and stuff.
i would like to root the device, where do i start? i dont know what all this rom stuff is and all the talk. can anyone help me out?
also, i tried connecting to wifi through my iphone (jailbroken running MyWi), but the Nook wouldnt recognize it. is it because it is considered an Ad-Hoc network?
any helps/pointers/links for a noob would be great. thanks.
To keep it simple, you will probably just want to root it through autonooter:

The first post has good instructions, but this post has even more thorough ones:

Youtube might crash after this. Although that second link I listed states to delete, you'd be better served by doing this:

Welcome to the community!
First off, i would say to take a read through the main Nook color information hub, found here: http://nookdevs.com/Portal:NookColor
There is lots of info about the device, and things that can be done with it. Terminology is all over the place, so if you have something in ind, i would suggest asking a specific question.
In general, the Android system is a highly customized Linux system, built on a linux kernel. Android itself is the rom, and is the OS that you are actually booting too. The kernel is the supporting software for the OS, and contains the system drivers (among other things). Commonly, when a custom rom is developed, an associated kernel is released with it, but they can be changed, if they are made interchangeable. If you do to the dev forum, you will see people working on both pieces.
The rooting information for the NC is in the portal page, and should get you fully started. As for the ad-hoc issue, yes, you will need to do some work to get that working, also found in this and the development forums.
Yes, welcome! I, too, am from iPhone jaikbreak land with this as my first android device. You'll love it! it's flexible and slick. Everyone here is so helpful, so just jump in!
Sent from my Nook Color
Just landed on the NOOKcolor planet as well
I love my Droid 1 and thought the Ipad worked pretty cool. It's pretty heavy though and $500? No thanks.
If only there was a smaller, cheaper, user customizable option.... the NOOKcolor!
Found info on XDA about it. Did some research. Played with it a few times. SOLD!
This thread links to everything I need to know about rooting it like my Droid so off I go.
Thanks for all the hard work everyone.

Need help installing Xposed

Hi. So, I've been trying to install Xposed on my phone for more than a week now, I've been to countless forums, videos, and sites, and I still didn't menage to install it. I have a Gigabyte Gsmart Classic phone, running Android 5.1 Lollipop. I don't know much about Androids and phones in particular, and that's why I'm asking if its possible for someone to contact me and give me a full step-by-step guide with no details left out. If someone is willing to help, pm me. Thanks in advance
Oh, I don't have an answer for you, but publicizing your email and skype in public especially on an internationally renowned forum is a verrrrrry bad idea and a great way to be hacked, you might want to edit them out of your post

Hey Mrmazak anything new going on in the world of the blu r1 hd? (if this clown would have done some research he'd know that Tom Sargent (rootjunky aka tomsgt) straight up bricked his Blu R1 HD by updating it, due to the preloader changes etc.... so anyhow... Did you happen to uh ever make a rom for the r1 hd that had everything working including camera, I know you mentioned it way back when I had the phone, and as everyone knows the 14.1 was pretty much impossible to get working with everything problem free; especially that camera.
Which phone are ya using now?

Fire OS (5.3.6.4) to Android?

Reposting per recommendation from another thread on XDA. Sorry for posting in the wrong location!

Hey guys, I'm brand new to some of this stuff so please bear with me. I've tried hunting all over the internet for help and at this point XDA is my last hope.
I've got a Kindle Fire 7 (5th Gen) that I previously used for reading books and whatnot. It's gotten so slow to the point it's intolerable and even on factory reset it's lagging pretty bad. I've wanted to try to remove the Fire OS from it for some time but never really could figure it out and today when I did try to do so I ran across some problems. I'm at the point where I really don't know what I'm doing and I don't want to brick it.
My version, according to the tablet, is Fire OS 5.3.6.4. I'd really like to get this thing converted over but I'm seeing that in some cases this device cannot be rooted because it cannot be downgraded. I'd like to hear it directly from the professionals that do this stuff in their daily lives.
So, I suppose in summary, is it even remotely possible for me to get this thing over to some kind of standard Android? If so, how do I do it? You're really going to have to break it down for me because I don't know anything about Flash Fire and some of these mods I'm seeing. I do computers, not tablets. Lol.
Thank you so so much!

This is the procedure you'll need to follow. Not for the faint of heart; involves opening the device and running software you likely have no familiarity with. I suggest you consider a $64 USD Onn tablet from Walmart that runs the latest version of Android right out of box. Good luck, mate.
