some people had this problem. Try booting into recovery and wiping the cache partition then reboot. That should help. Good luck!

Hi folks
Just upgraded to ICS using Keis (officical release)
Now for some reason wifi connection seems to wake up the display and i cannot find a
way to resolve this, has anyone got any ideas please?
PS, its as though it drops wifi for a while then when the display comes on its says its
connected to my network...
do a factory reset, if needed a full wipe. i have done on mine.
You can perform full reset by pressing the following code in sequence;

I finished the upgrade about 11pm last night, and my note was in deep sleep all night, and used very little power, I have not yet had a chance to test the gps, camera, ect.
EDIT : gps and camera seem fine.

Questions belong in Q&A.
I did the factory wipe and and now all is fine again thanks peeps
Well, i thought it was ok, but its still doing it, why does the wifi wake up the screen?
As far as i can tell it only does it when attached to a power source, i.e. AC or USB
I have the same apps installed as per the original firmaware and it was fine....
After ICS update GPS has taken long time to fix first time and only it has locked at outside in open sky. After that GPS working good. only it is taking 10 seconds to fix even inside the building.
Hi Everyone.
Following on from my question this morning asking this question I have more time to be specific.
My note is unrooted and I downloaded to ICS 11.06.12 using Kies. Everything seemed to be going well except for the fact the phone just keeps switching itself on and off. For example; the screen is off, I want to check the time or date, by pressing the home button the screen switches on, all fine there, but then 7 out of ten times the phone then reboots. It has done this during calls, using apps and playing games when my son uses it.
Does anyone else have this issue or better still anyone have an idea why it does it?
Many thanks

He says he's not rooted so there's no option to clean dalvik.
Also wiping cache under ics can trigger superbrick. Either install Speedmod kernel and wipe dalvik and cache, or downgrade to gb, perform full wipe of all, the upgrade again.

do not use recovery unless you are on safe kernel. All ics stock kernels are unsafe. Downgrade to gb rom or install a safe kernel than do wipe/factory reset. All the instructions are present in this forum read carefully.
People!
Before you answer some of the questions here on this thread... do take a notice first if this is a fresh question posted by OP or not!... This question raised by the threadstarter was dated -10th July 2012, 08:49 PM. Now seriously... You think he would have this issue till now??? this post is nearly almost 2 months already!!
Geez!!
So, my z is on mooke 4.4.1 and first it received no signal so I rebooted it and surprisingly it got longer than usual. And then the status and the nav bar were missing. So I wiped the dalvik cache and cache but theres no change. I've rebooted my phone multiple time including disabling all xposed modules and there's no change. And no, I don't have expanded desktop enabled. And I know that yhere's another thread that have similar problem but I found it to be lacking of info so I decided to make a new one. Please guys help me I can't bear with this condition.

Done it, still no luck
try doing a complete FTF restore using flashtool then flash your desired rom again, going through all the rooting procedures again.
although this sort of issue happened to my HTC Incredible S and later it became obvious that the mainboard died.
Hello, i have a little problem here. Everytime i reboot my phone the setting in Display about image quality boost (X-reality) deactivates itselt without a reason.
I had root before but i flashed again the .77 firmware without wipes. Problem is still here, is there any solution than wipe everything?

the firmware must be repaired so you need to wipe and reinstall fresh firmware to repair system features
:good:

If you have a backup goto recovery an wipe only system partition. Then go to advanced restore->sytem and restore this system partition. In this case you dont touch you personal data.
If you have no backup you have to do a complete new installation like geeks emire said before.

I reverted back to firmware .77 without recovery and root so no backup. However i found out just now that stamina mode does this and it's not bugged.
Thank you through for the suggestions
You are welcome

I received my 6.0.1 update via at&t a few days ago and have been loving it so far. However, I have run into an issue today. My screen in randomly unresponsive. It is lit up, but it does not respond to touch. If I press the power button to put the screen to sleep and then wake it back up again it works, but that's sort of inconvenient.
Has anyone else experienced this issue? If so, how did you fix it. I've wiped the system cache already and that didn't fix the problem.
I've also installed Good Lock, if that is of any importance.
This phone is fully stock and has not been modified in any way.
I appreciate the help in advance!!!
If you already wiped cache and the problem persists, then my friend a Factory Data Reset is the step to take. My Galaxy S6 running at AT&T received the Platform upgrade a few days ago and before doing the Factory Reset I install Good Lock just to see what's going on. I was pretty lost with it so uninstall. After the upgrade I never experienced an unresponsive screen.

Wiping Cache is not bad. It is when you have to resort to wiping data that means a lot of work.

I just wiped everything and only downloaded my most used apps. Seems to be working now. Time to re-download Good Lock and see what happens!
