So I sprayed the screen a bit with screen spray when I installed a new screen protector. All of a sudden the finger print sensor wasn't working right and both hardware buttons for back and recent stopped working. The finger print sensor now works again after a day of it being off but still both back and recent do not work. I didn't spray the screen much either. Is it that sensitive?

Ok so i took apart my N1 to clean the notorious dust from under the screen and wiped down the amoled screen and the back of the touch screen, seems to be going good...... well when i put it back together and turn it on (it turns on ok and display works) the touch screen dont work anymore, the light sensor does work and the soft keys work, and the track ball works just not the touch screen!! I did a clean install of cm6.1 to see if that would do the trick but no luck. im pretty sure i might have rubbed the tiiiiiny grid of wires under the digitizer the wrong way and broke some of them apart cause the light sensor and proximity sensor still work. Ok my question is how do i get past the set up screen and go straight to the home screen with no touch screen and only a track ball??? I can set it up to where i can trackball to wake instead of needing the swipe screen to wake?? Please tell me how i can bypass the set up screen, Thank you.

You can always get a new digitizer from here...http://www.htcrepairparts.com/htc-nexus-one-htc-passion-c-129_677.html?language=en
I have already replaced the digitizer before and dont wanna go through that again. I just wanna bypass the setup screen and be able to use the trackball as a temporary solution till i get a new phone.
my galaxy ace had dust under the screen. to remove it, i disassembled the phone. I removed the dust between the glass and the screen, assembled the phone again and booted it up. But know the phone does not respond to any touch.
to find out what the problem is i'd like to know how the screen works. I believe that when I touch the screen, this is sent from the front glass to the 'phone', which makes the screen show the according view. So when the screen does not respond to me touching the screen i'd have to look for a new glass or could there be another problem?
i''ve cleaned the screen with lcd screen cleaner (on both sides because there was a fingerprint on it on the back side). I don't know if there was some sort of layer on the glass which could be removed by this cleaner, which actually would be essential for the touch function.
i hope someone can help me. I'd like to use this ace for a longer time...

thanks! i've used that tutorial for replacing the broken screen my ace came with from my sister. I replaced it and then everything worked fine again. However ,after that screen replacement, there got dust under the screen which I tried to remove this afternoon.
The dust is gone, but the screen doens''t respond to anything now.
I'am wondering if i 'broke' the screen and I should get a replacement screen, or that i may have damaged the lcd screen (which is fine i think, it displays everthing perfectly). or maybe the glass is fine but some connector is defect (i've disassembled the phone again, checked everything and connected it again).
As soon as I unlocked the phone by swiping up, it immediately locks itself again. I have a tempered glass screen that is chipped near the light sensor, but it is far from the sensor and as far as I can tel it's not directly touching the sensor. It's been cracked for a few days and just started doing this today. I have Chroma installed. Does this sound like the glass is interfering?
Figured it out. Just put a steelie on it today. I had it near the top of the phone below the camera. I moved the steelie lower and it works fine now. Apparently having something magnetic hear that part of the phone puts it to sleep
I am running the latest a stock debloated 6.0 rom from tupac4u right now and having some issue during phone calls. For me I make or receive a call and my display will turn off even before putting the phone to my face. However, getting the screen on during a call is a bit hard to do as pressing the power button doesn't turn the screen on(sometimes have to press it 3 times to get it on). Anyway to fix this, or to disable this? Thank you
Using a screen protector? If yes, it may be blocking the proximity sensor, which is located just to the left of the top speaker grill.
In another thread I'm being told it's a bug with marshmallow. How accurate is that? And yes I am using a screen protector. I'm just not sure where the proximity sensor is so I can adjust accordingly?

I do not use shell or film and have the problem for a long time. Tried everything but nothing helps you get used to it.
Knowing isuses since 5.1 and the sensor is on the top left of the earpiece
Yeah i took a light to find where it was. I have a tempered protector. Tried to use a knife to adjust it, but broke the screen protector. Oh well I'll just skip one cup of tea this week. If I go with a regular screen protector(one of those cheap $1 ones will that still cause issues?
Yup, the oversensitive proximity sensor issue started after 5.1 arrived. I too had a tempered glass covering the proximity sensor and it was working fine when I was on 5.0/5.0.2. I had to remove the tempered glass and get a new one which doesn't cover proximity sensor to fix this problem.
Did the same thing. Got a regular screen protector right now for a cheap, until I can find a tempered model that doesn't cover the proximity sensor.
The screen on the S8 is weird. Very often when sliding the finger it will touch random locations. Sliding right might cause a slide to the left. Sliding down might cause a single press in a random location. It happens a lot. And I have tested it with completely not touching the edges of the phone so it is literally just the one finger in a constant motion with no lifting at all during the touches. Anyone else have this? It's literally annoying enough to return the phone
I'm experiencing a screen issue too. Not exactly the same as yours, but an issue nonetheless. When installing an app via package installer, tapping "install" in portrait mode is no responsive. It's only when I rotate to landscape mode that the screen responds. Very frustrating.
