Can anyone post a helpful link? Everything I see is for 5.1.1 so I'm looking for root on 6.0.1 (MMB29K.G920TUES5DQD1).

Worked perfectly, thank you! Quick question though. What do I do about Knox? When I went to SuperSU it asked if I wanted to try to disable Knox.

I think is recommended to disable it, but then again... I don't think it'll affect your phone in any way...

After I rooted the phone I deleted some blotware. Now I am having problems with the phone freezing. Is there a way to recover the delete apps?
You can always restore your backup. Unless you didn't create a backup before you went and deleted everything. That's a noob thing not to do.
Your best bet is to follow the "return to stock" tutorial. It's in the sticky threads.
Or wait for the next update to roll out.

Ok thanks it seems like this rom thing can be a whole lot of work!! Dont know if i am up to the task THANK YOU.
I solved some issues I was having, thought I would share.
Notice Chrome freezing or responding really slowly? Or do you hate not having easy access to tabs and functions? Go to Settings and disable 'Merge tabs and apps'.
Can't remove system apps? Grab the app 'Parcel' from Google play. Uninstall the apps 3 times in a row, then reboot.
All I got for now...
Feel free to share yours!

To the best of my knowledge, for those of us who were not already rooted on KK, a Lollipop root exploit is not available yet.

I stand corrected. Please point me to the thread that will show me how to root my previously unrooted, locked, Lollipop GS5 without downgrading the OS.

Sorry, I should have been more specific. I have a SM-G900V (Verizon) not T-Mobile as the link you supplied reflects. That link also states "CF-Auto-Root is not yet available for all models". I searched the forum and found no instance of "Verizon" or "900V". Thank you anyway. I'll keep monitoring the forum.

Sorry, first line in that thread is "**You can begin the following process from any build/ROM but you must have both root and Safestrap installed before proceeding**".
No other suggestions?
Why don't you downgrade to an old firmware and then update with the thread I posted? Don't know about rooting on a g900v as I've got a G900F
I have a rooted s5 with lollipop 5.0. I managed to root it without tripping Knox by downgrading and using towelroot, then using mobile Odin to install a rooted version of lollipop. I followed the guide here here
Is there a similar sneaky way I can install xposed without tripping Knox? If I do it the above way using mobile Odin, will it trip knox?

You can have your "friend" search the forum, it's been asked and asked and asked.

Then its best not to apply community made hacks and leave it stock... Because there will always be rick otherwise.
Hey Guys
Is there a link where i can download the latest baseband for Tmobile Samsung s6
My current one is G920TUVU2COF6
Will the recent baseband be compatible with rooted phones? Will private mode and finger scan still work??
Thanks

There is a thread for that. Search also works. Yes, you can still root and yes the fingerprint scanner will work. :good:

Good form. "Here's an answer with a link" followed by "but next time try searching before asking"
This place used to be a great site. Too many d-bags joining in recent times that have an elitist mentality despite having little contribution. I can understand how some may search but either not understand what they're reading or want to double check that what they're thinking is correct. Best just to answer and remind them to search and ask their question in the thread they think might be the one.
Anyway, I just had to say something. For your candor I'll hit the thanks button :good:

If you are rooting just stock and not flashing a rom, make sure to flash that no verity zip (is in the link I sent you) or you will face "only official binaries are allowed" then you will have to flash stock and restart.

You need to flash stock filmware to get rid of this message.
Then you should follow this excellent guide here to help it stop happening again - https://forum.xda-developers.com/sa...w-to/guide-root-install-twrp-samsung-t3747535
If you are wanting to flash a rom, just flash it once you have installed TWRP, as roms have already taken care of the above.
