I just received my gear for Christmas. After a bit of tedious work I got my watch working nearly flawlessly on dandroid 4.4. I'm loving it more and more! Two major issues are notifications without Samsung bloat. The other is auto lock. Seemed to be locked and needs a certification or encryption?
Any fix for autolock? I searched the forum and couldn't readily find an answer.
what do u mean .. fix for autolock?

In gear manager > settings Autolock
For me it's currently not able to be activated. Even though in my system it gives me that option in security. If I can activate that setting in gear manager I'll be golden. Any one have certification for the gear manager?
Just a guess, but the lock screen code may be different on a custom 4.4 ROM than stock 4.3. As far as notifications, do you have your watch on MI7 firmware?

If you were on a corporate exchange email server it is probably being blocked by the corporation. That is what happened to mine
My phone is on the latest firmware with 5.0.2. I successfully rooted my phone after a couple of sleepless nights and tons of stress when the phone suffered a boot loop. I do not want to undergo that process anytime shortly, though fun it was. (Damn! I keep speaking like Yoda) Sony keeps pushing updates every ten days and it creates trouble all over again. I searched before I posted this and in kitkat there was an option under personalisation to disable OTA. However that no longer is present. Can the OTA be disabled? Can anyone tell me how to do it?
There is a app called update center as i remember correct. In the app there u can turn off ota notification. Or flash a debloated rom, most of them has no ota app
Hey basti thanks for the reply but I am not able to find any such app. Tried whatsnew app and disabled updates but I guess that is only for apps that comes like xperia lounge. Further clarity would be nice.

When the update notification appears at the top of your phone, pull down to reveal the notification menu. Long press and hold on the update message and an option to view "app info" will pop up. Click on that option and it will take you to the update notification screen where you will see a check box that you will have to clear to prevent notifications from appearing for OTA updates.

Great idea puffdaddy but the only problem is that I am looking for a way to prevent it from downloading itself. In my phone, on the last occasion, the update was already downloaded and then it informed me that it was ready to be installed. I am ideally looking for a way to prevent the download itself

That's strange. I never had that problem. Check your settings within the update app to make sure it's not set to auto download updates

So I temporarily unlocked my phone as I am currently on vacation in Europe. I am currently on Orange PrePay and I'm not sure if it is related, but ever since I left the US and unlocked through T-Mobile my battery life has been completely awful (7 hour stand by time.) the culprit is Com.tmobile.pr.adapt which has gotten as high as 35% battery usage. What can I do beside resetting the phone to factory? I don't want to lose all my apps as I don't have the bandwidth to re-download them. Thanks for your help guys
Try disabling it in Settings > Apps.
If it won't let you and you have access to a computer, try using Debloater to block it.
If you don't have a computer, there's probably a way to do it in Terminal on the phone, but you'll have to dig around for the instructions.
That package is part of the T-Mobile my account app, so perhaps disabling or blocking it would help too.

Indeed, you will need to use the debloater tool to block it. You can't disable it otherwise... It didn't hit my battery so much as OP however it caused mobile data to be enabled even though I had disabled it as I was using WiFi and was causing battery drain..

It's amazing how the carrier software is so bad it's ruining the phone. The good news is two dev teams have root now and both seem to be able to root all variants and possibly all software versions!
Glad it worked for you!
Debloater has the warning message on the T-Mo G4 variant,
so how is anyone claiming a "blocked" app or android component when it's not possible?
Blocked and Hidden are two different things, right ?
LOL

Use it to root and delete the dam, app. Was messing with my phone also.

I don't think it's that cause I already had it disabled. I was able to freeze it using sdmaid, but don't know it's importance or why it's asking for root rights...
I rooted mine today and then used Titanium Backup to freeze it. Just use the search in TB to find it.
you need to freeze / delete myaccount. i did this without root and that app no longer runs and depletes my battery. you can disable with the debloater, or search for adb commands to do so. since i did that im currently at 22 hours on battery with 15% left (2h 16m Screen On Time).
I had the exact same problem as the OP. It was not an issue until i unlocked and roamed with the phone to another country and my battery would drain like crazy. It was driving me mad until i found what was causing this and then this thread.
It seems that this process constantly wakes up the phone, connects to mobile data, even when on wifi, and sends some info out. Evert few seconds, killing the phone's battery.
I keep getting this.
It keeps poping up but doesnt show up in battery stats

I have the same battery/T-Mobil app issue, but I can't seem to get the Debloater app to recognize my G4. When I run the app it just has a black screen with no info in the fields. No pop-ups and no errors that I can see. What can I be doing wrong?

Do a backup
Just go here and make sure you install a rooted version: http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-g4/development/h81110n-stock-rooted-image-t3191038
then go here and flash the debloated rom:

What do you see at the bottom of the debloater window on your computer? do you have adb enabled on your phone? is your phone unlocked? If you see connected did you click the button in the top left that says "click here to begin/read device packages"
That app is constantly requesting root permissions because of the Phone status check. T-Mobile thinks that rooting the phone Messes the phone up.
In the app theres an area where the application analyzes the phone to tell you what's his status. Giving it root permissions would likely explode the phone with notifications

I already posted on the wanam xposed page but I have moved here to avoid confusion.
Some days ago I received a notification on my S3 Neo that wanam Xposed is a malware and to uninstall . I tapped ok and it uninstalled automatically. I had the last version from a long time and I had no problem since this notification (I'm pretty sure that was from google settings app). I was using this module from months with no problem...
Anyone knows something about it?
@wanam ?
Today I tried to reinstall it from the xposed app and i received the screen attached.
The culprit is play store. Disable notifications for this app.

They asked me to remove it from the PlayStore because it disables some Knox services and fakes the system status, and that's what i did months ago, so i'm not surprised they are now flagging it as a malware package.

Ok
It's most likely to do with the SElinux mode setting to permissive on wanam. Android does this too with the SELinuxModeChanger too.

I did that but i still get the warning. And when i uncheck verify apps (in android Settings) it goes back to being checked after a restart. Security Updates is also unchecked. My Note 2 with stock 4.4.2 is rooted.
Has anyone figured this out beyond disabling the Google App setting? I only recently started to get the "Wanam Xposed can damage your device" notification.
From your notifications long press the warning, select app info, uncheck notifications.
I have a notification for a security update for the fingerprint sensor. It downloads (9.8mb) then fails to install.
Anyone else receive update?

I haven't seen this one come across - I'm on T-Mobile with an S10+. I did do the original update which was approx 462mb (it was 2am when I did it, so can't be sure), but nothing since then.
I am having the same issue. The message is being generated from TADownloader. All I get is the download, then couldn’t update try again

Seems a possible solution is to disable the Secure Folder. Figured this out myself after a phone call to Samsung where they told me they couldn't support the third party TADownloader which is made and installed by Samsung.
I Got this in the morning. Installed and updated. No details as to what it was fixing though.
Fingerprint
It's firmware update for the fingerprint reader
I also received and updated successfully
I did the update this morning successfully. I read it was available since yesterday on other countries and i was worried I wouldn't be able to do it because my phone is rooted now, but it was an "application" update not firmware update.
The fingerprint scanner is actually FAST now. Especially if you turn off the animation, it feels like S9 fast. It only misses if i don't place my finger fully on the scanner (duh), so there is some getting used to position your finger, but I am glad to see they actually fixed it this time.

Didn't work for me. I've had secure folder disabled from day 1. I went back and enabled all the knox crap plus the secure folder just in case the update relied on something from them. After enabling it installed. Not sure which specific service/app needed to be enabled.

Can't apply this manually
Seems like it's a Galaxy App Store update. It also can't be triggered manually. Did any T-Mobile USA customers get it on their device?
Can someone send an apk of it. It is the biometrics app
Didn't receive the update yet... Exynos
Nothing I seen to do is allowing it to update. I turned off secure folder, ensured all apps were enabled, and even disabled Adhell3.
To those who successfully applied the update, are you still on the ASBA software update or did you get the later one already? I'm still on ASBA so maybe that's causing the problem?
