I had an old M8 lying around and wanted to root it for gaming purposes. I was able to successfully install TWRP (sprint version), and then installed SuperUser, but when I tried to open it, I got a "binary issue" message and it told me I needed to install something else. I found the latest release and flashed that using TWRP, but once I did that, I got stuck in a boot loop. I'm hoping it's a soft brick and someone can help me? I'm able to get into the bootloader and access TWRP. I can get into the advanced sideload option. Is it possible to save this somehow?

Update...I'm able to get daemon tools to start and it recognizes my phone, but I'm unable to sideload. I've tried everything I could find on the internet. I've tried multiple different roms. I know I'm close to resolving this, but can anyone please help?
I had the same problem on my tablet, I flashed the latest version in twrp now everything works perfectly fine

Hey guys, first post here.
So I've been reading around this forum and all over the internet and can't find a solution to this problem.
Sprint HTC ONE
S-on
v31.120.274.0617
I had CyanogenMod 10.2 Nightly installed but I was getting some serious network connectivity issues (I've seen others run into this problem as well). Not knowing what to do because I'm still fairly new to tweaking with phones, I tried to go back to the stock ROM. To my dismay the stock ROM backup was now gone.
I thought "no problem" and downloaded the stock HTC one sprint variant ROM and flashed it. Here is where my troubles began:
TWRP said that it had installed correctly, I rebooted only to get a black screen. Now all I can get to are TWRP (which I had to reinstall to get to) and Recovery. This would normally be easy to fix by just flashing another ROM. But when I connect the phone to my computer it makes the connection noise and nothing shows up. I tried using adb commands to move a new ROM to the phone but every command I have tried just comes up with (no device found).
I also tried using an OTG cable and thumb drive with a ROM on it and TWRP says that the thumb drive is empty (it is formatted correctly).
If anyone could give me a hand getting out of this I would very much appreciate it.
This is now solved, if you are having a problem similar to this, check your drivers then contact bigdaddy619.

Im not sure if this will help, but if you can get into bootloader mode and run the appropriate RUU.
Or you could do an adb sideload.

hi everybody,
I'm stuck!
I' tried everything I can think of, I've search hi and lo and I cant find a fix for my problem. My phone for the last several months has been working flawlessly with twrp/trickdroid but since there dosen't seem to be any more support for trick droid I decided to put another rom on the phone. Now I've never had an issue doing things this way but something is screwed up and I could use someone who is smarter than me help. I wiped the phone and now I cant get my phone and pc to communicate. Everytime I try to adb sideload i get an error stating device not found. twrp recovery is still on the phone and i can still boot into the boot loader if needed. I just cant put my new rom on the phone. I've done everything i can think of, searched everywhere i think possible. this isn't my first android that iv modded but it is the first time i haven't been able to find a solution for my problem. please help!

Hi Everyone,
First off I am a total novice and I put my hands up to say I should not have tried to root my phone. I merely wanted to root so that I could actually use the space on my SD card, which the HTC Desire doens't.
I did try to do this manually by reading a few guide and walkthroughs with no success. So then I used the sunshine app to unlock my bootloader and then WinDriod to load TWRP recovery and then hopefully root the phone. It does say ***unloacked*** on the fastboot menu. However, I sort of messed up my phone.
I cannot load into recovery mode - it goes to a HTC load screen then right back to fastboot usb menu.
I cannot factory restore the phone either.
Can anyone advise me how to return my phone to its normal state or advise on how to fix this problem?
Appreciate any help anyone can give me!

Hello,
Since you asked for help with returning the phone to it's normal state I have some questions. Does the phone work normally? Can you make calls, text, and do other things when you simply power your phone on or is the OS deleted? Are you just referring to obtaining stock recovery or do you still want to get TWRP? It sounds like some error happened when you tried to flash TWRP and now you have no recovery. Here is a great guide that shows you how to flash TWRP. You can use that same guide to flash the stock recovery. That channel also has videos with an alternate method to unlock your bootloader and how to root the phone.
My phone works fine, makes calls, texts etc, I just can't boot into recovery. I tried several methods, following online videos etc to no avail, but ill give this one a go this evening. I mentioned returning it to its original state so I could start over with the flashing process as nothing seems to allow me to load into twrp, so i wondered if there was a corrupt file or something preventing me from doing so. The phone's bootloader is unlocked I believe as it says so on the hboot screen.
Thanks for the suggestion, ill let you know how it goes.

The method in that video should work perfect. I doubt there was a corrupt file, but we'll find out soon enough. I have a love/dislike relationship with WinDroid. I love it, because of how easy it is to use and it requires little to no knowledge of what you are actually doing and it is just a beautiful looking program. I dislike the fact that you pretty much learn nothing when you use it, as it does all of the work. Also, if you use the adb drivers it provides and you already have adb drivers, you will receive an error that the adb server is out of date.
Hi XDA community,
I'm scared out of my mind. Tried rooting for the first time ever, but don't actually know what I'm doing. Using various guides I found in these forums, I:
1. Used HTCdev to unlock the bootloader
2. Used ADB to install TWRP 3.0.2-0
3. Used TWRP to install UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.76.zip
Once that finished, my phone tried booting up (the white HTC logo) but now it has the red development build text at the bottom.... and then it gets into an infinite boot loop.
I don't know how to fix my phone. Please someone here with guidance, please help.
I've got the same identical issue.
I was able to get out of the boot loop by holding volume up and power, and I got back to download mode. From there, since the SU update I tried to install boot looped me (I was following this tutorial), I jumped ahead and just installed cm13 as I was planning to.
This install went fine, but then I ran into the issue of the rom not recognizing my sim card. I've been researching this problem and I guess I need to update my baseband? I tried for hours but I do not know how to accomplish this, and couldn't figure it out for the life of me. This thread on the cyanongenmod forum seemed to be the closest thing to help I could find, but still it didn't help very much.
So at this point now I'm trying to back out and unroot my phone and get everything back to factory settings; it doesn't feel worth it anymore to me since I've just had trouble every step of the way. I've been trying to follow this post to get back to at least a usable factory rom. But I can't even get this one to install because I cannot access my phone through adb while it's in download mode. Furthermore the instructions are just confusing me because I'm not so versed in the nomenclature of these procedures.
Is there anyone that can help me get back to complete stock t-mobile sense? Or if not, help me get my cm13 rom to recognize my sim card so I can at least have my phone working in some capacity? I'd be tremendously grateful of either. I'm really in over my head here and quite scared I won't be able to figure this out.
I rooted my phone not long ago. Some how I have corrupted or changed something in between now and then. I get stuck upon reboot on HTC screen with warning about instlaling custom roms. I've spent literally three days on this forum and every site I could find without success. I'm sure that my phone is not hard bricked because I still have access to TWRP. I cannot find my recovery on my sd and every bit of advice or instructions I have found do not work. I've tried sideloading, RUU via HTCsync, and so on. Please if anyone can help It would be greatly appreciated. I've always had success with jailbreaking on the Apple side and was a die hard Apple guy. A few years ago, I went full Android. Still learning.

You should at least be able to do it the long way:
Go back to stock ROM, flash this with SP Flash Tools. You then will need to reinstall TWRP, root and any other modification you did to your phone. In the end you should be able to reset your phone to the state it had before "something went wrong".
