First thing's first: Don't judge me making this thread! It's just my opinion, Jesus...
So before you even reply, THINK ABOUT IT BRO! IT'S JUST AN OPINION!!!
Hi N5 Developers, or whoever's viewing this thread,
It's been a long time since the Nexus 5 was released and I still remember the day it came out of the box. The phone was so perfect after all those years, and without the developers who have supported the Nexus 5 for years, nothing's perfect. Now that there's way better phones-Google Pixel, OnePlus 3T, Galaxy S7...- and the Nexus 5 is not supported by Nougat. Yet, our devs still stayed and delivered us Nougat on Nexus 5. I just wanted to say thank you to all N5 devs out there, for supporting the device, for still hanging on to us users, for still creating wonderful work for it...
I know I'm the kind of person who doesn't do anything but eating stuff other people have grown, but think of yourself... Are you that kind of people?
Again, THANK YOU DEVS, even though me and many other people can't really support you by donating or contributing to your work, but can only use, praise and recognise, you still make the Nexus 5 experience better by all means
Sincerely,
Me and people who probably people who was the same thoughts
Thank you all Nexus5 Developer (2)
With all the negative press lately, I'd like to see just how many people are unhappy with their device, or if it's just a vocal minority. this will only take about 30 seconds. Thanks in advance to everyone who participates!

Done, spoiler alert : like the OP5 a lot
Done, only major complaint is that auto brightness dims the screen too much at night, to the point that I can't read anything and have to manually increase brightness
Done
Done and I really like it.
Done. *Very* happy with my OnePlus 5. Just sold my Pixel XL today. Oneplus 5 is smaller, lighter, faster, louder. Same screen... to me. The Twrp & custom rom pace is amazing! And it doesn't have those weird dual partitions.
The OnePlus 5 launch was a great sales event and I think it may have drawn some sales from folks that maybe were not as committed after the event ended.
Their promised shipping turn around was ambitious and I expect they met their promise on the vast majority of their shipments. But like some, my delivery was 1 business day later than promised - and because that meant I could not play with it over the weekend, I was disappointed - but I didn't complain. I blamed that on the success of the launch and a good price/product. If you monitored the shipping thread, you saw there were people that were saying they were going to return theirs as soon as it arrived. The reported "jelly" effect, was icing on the cake.
Bottom line: great phone; great price; great expectations.
Thanks for the responses -- 133 participants so far
Pretty cool watching this data line up. Overall it seems people are extremely satisfied with their Oneplus 5 purchase so far. The only measures that people have scored as "moderately satisfied" with are the camera (at 3.5/5) and the price (at 3.6/5).
You may find the full results by following the link below. Please note that they will continue to update as responses come in. Also note that I'm hosting these on my personal website, as I'm not sure of a better way to do it, but if you know of a better way please let me know. I will post a final set of results (in a more digestible format) once I receive more data.

The OP5 is a great phone for people who know how to use it. It surprises me that many people just rant about a problem, not because it affects them, but cause someone told them that there's some problem with their phone.
Jelly effect would have gone unnoticed easily had thw Google engineer not brought it up. Personally, I think it doesnt affect much at all.
I dnt know another flagship phone at this cost, which is as customisable as this OP5.
Let's see what the poll says.
I love the device, having used iPhone and OnePlus One before.
Results are up!
Here is my reddit post where I break down the results:

And here are the raw results for you to sift through on your own

Hello,
Here a poll to check how many people here are waiting for a gcam port for Xperia 1.
The fact is the port needs a lot of work, and one of the dev I got in touch with don't have the device to work with, so it adds a lot more work. It would be interesting to see if it's worth the hassle or not.
[Edit] The poll is now pretty much useless since the main purpose was to show the interest to developers, and it appeared there was not that much interest here (90 votes in 10 months)
And after 10 months of using the Xperia 1 with stock camera app, I, and that include only my own opinion, don't really think a GCAM port would add anything.
Can't really speak for others, but I would really appreciate a Gcam port.
Even more considering the current state of the stock camera app.
When you look at the amount of traffic the other Gcam forum thread generates, compared to other threads. It probably already gives you a good idea.
It even looks like it's the #1 viewed forum thread on the whole Xperia 1 forums.
I would appreciate a port and willing to donate for the cause.
Definitely would like to try out a fully working port
Definitely want to try gcam
Defienitely would love to have it and happy to donate too
As much as I want this to happen., I don't think it will. When running any of the Gcam ports one of the first errors you run into is "com.google.googlex.gcam.hdrplus.MetadataConverter.convertToGcamStaticMetadata(Unknown Source:181)". Which basically means that frameworks_av/camera/ files have been edited. That is where the all of the camera hal framework lives, Sony being Sony I imagine they have changed a lot. Plus no developer is going to drop a grand on a device which has sold very little.
We must donate for Dev theam .
If you start project i really want support.
I'm also willing to donate for the cause.
If everyone who wants it (22 voting yes already) chip in what they can afford, it'll go a long way i think.
I also ready for donate a Dev to develop Camera for X1
+1 to donate :good:
Absolutely
I've been waiting for a Sony gcam port since forever. This would be next level awesome.
+1
+1 for donation
I sent a PM to Arnova to see if there is a way to create a crowdfuding Campaign to develop this port, waiting for his answer.
I don't really care because camera shots are already well, with details and and what's more important, with realistic colors accuracy.
I owned lots of top range phones (chinese brands expecially...) who failed this simply shrewdness, to get real life experience on shots.. in that cases I really wanted a Gcam..!

and who cares, really?
The more people talk about them, the more they get more advertising and do not deserve at all.
that site just looks after its own business, expects companies to agree with them. Objectivity is another thing, really. If you have this phone you will have noticed that colors are faithfully reproduced and there are good details in the tip and click.
On my previous phone, the high rated (LOL!) Oneplus 7 Pro, software really needed Gcam porting. Not Sony.

Dumb troll posting the same in all threads
I'm a OnePlus 8T user, and I was looking at some other OnePlus stuff and I didn't know that the OnePlus sword was codenamed Avicii. Avicii has been my favorite artist of any kind since I was in like middle school in 2012. And I just really think that's kind of cool.
Hi everyone I'm happy to join the community. I have been following the forum over 10 years now probably first time I was modding an Asus TF 700 transformer tablet or OnePlus One those were the good times!!! Now I'm having an overheating Pixel 4a and living in Taiwan. The bright side I can get my hands on with the latest tech almost everyday.
Thanks again I'm happy to be here.
