Can Tasker detect which launcher page (Nova) is showing?
And if so can you have it go to a different page?

You would need to create a variable to tell tasker which page to go to. To use the variable as the input to the Go Home page number, tap the crossed arrows at the top left of the Go Home action.

Well what I want is for tasker to be able to detect which launcher page is showing. For instance if page 2 is showing then I want it to do some tasker actions - those actions should only trigger when page 2 is showing.
So what I need is for Tasker to store the number of the launcher page in a variable.

I'd ask on the Nova Google plus page if there is a query that can be made to determine that. Nova had to offer up the information for tasker to grab it.

Hello all,
i made a Geocaching scene with tasker and would like to switch between that scene and another APP... But when i press the home button, the scene disappears. Other apps still remain in the recent apps list. Is there a way to have the scene in that list so i can switch it with another APP.

A scene isn't an app so it can't be shown in the Recent apps list. It's just overlay.
Your best option is probably to either create a shortcut to the task and place it on your home screen, use AutoNotification to create a notification that shows the scene when clicked on, or to use the Autobubbles alpha app to use a bubble as a shortcut.

You need to setup a profile that reacts to when you click on the notification.

You can make an app too. Use Tasker APP Factory to get .apk file, install and use as u want to

I just bought Nova Launcher and set it to loon like Pixel Launcher, the only thing I cannot set is to show the weather info next to the search button.
Anyone knows how to set it? I already give nova location permission.
In Nova’s Settings menu is “Desktop.” Jump in there, and change the following:
Search Bar Style: Select the “G” logo with the white oval, then tap “Bar color” and set it to white. Scroll down and select the colored “G.” Finally, tick the “weather” box at the very bottom, then back out of this menu.
Note: For some users, “Weather” doesn’t show up here. Instead, it’s hidden away in Nova’s “Labs” menu—to enable this, long-press the volume down key while in the Nova Settings menu. The Labs option will appear and you can enable Weather.

I bought tasker, added a task:
Disable wifi If %SCREEN=0
It does nothing, so what is the logic behind that tasker ?
Can someone give me the solution ?
To start i just want my wifi to turn off when i lock my screen.

You have to add profile that trigger a task. In your case you have to make a profile like
State - > Display - > Display state set it to off
Task - > Net - > WiFi set it to off.
A task can only work if it will be triggered and for that you need a profile.
BTW the app is called Tasker

edit: not working....
if i go to the task list and press PLAY, it turns off wifi. so the task is properly done.

You have to exit Tasker for save the profile. Or touch the save button in upper right.
Never forget that otherwise the profile isn't saved.

Hello,
Just looking for help probably simple but can't seem to do it. Holding the application to hover over another just takes it to the home screen to place there but want to make folders on the application screen. Thanks

I had the same issue.
Look at home screen settings and enable add icons to startscreen, than you should be able to drop a icon on another to make a folder.
I have my unit set up with swedish so om not sure if the translation are correct.

Haha yeah cheers mate I thought that option was for adding new apps automatically to the homepage like an option I'm used to in Nova launcher. Reading the setting makes it obvious. Lol. Thanks

I just aquired a P20 Pro and it's really amazing.
I really like the search bar, I think it is called the "global search" --> when you swipe down on the home screen you can search for almost everything o your phone, from calendar event to contacts and apps.
I am using Nova Launcher since years and I'd like to also be able to use this global search function with it, through the Nova gesture. But I looked for hours and I can't find the "shortcut" / "activity" to do so... Can someone help me and tell me where to find it?

Sorry I can't help you but I'm looking for the same thing. Whas using Huawei home for I while and now I use Nova, miss that global search bar.... Hope someone knows how to get it in Nova too
It's unlikely to be possible due to it being a launcher specific function of EMUI.

In the meantime I can advise you sesame app which is not that bad...
I am sure there should be a way to trigger it the same way the swipe down triggers it in the stock launcher.. I remember having done kinda the same thing on my old HTC one --> triggering the stock launcher news feed page with a nova shortcut/activity so that's why I guess should be also possible here..

So the global search is now apparently called Hisearch, and is under Com.huawei.search.
Still unable to find it....
However, I read somewhere it's possible to trigger it through a Sesame shortcut (without more information...). Do someone knows how to set this up?
