Not that I'm aware of. The only possibility I can think of is setting everything up initially, then deleting lockscreen.db from one of the system folders.
*Warning* that's just a workaround I remember from my Nexus 6p when TWRP restores would cause pins not to work. I by no means endorse that this will work, it is it meant as a starting point to research.

I don't think that's an option. I haven't seen it on any rom. It's more for your protection as a user in case the fingerprint isn't recognized
In resurrection remix nougat you can do this. All you have to do is enable quick unlock in regular settings and then fp unlock in configurations (which are the added settings from RR). Then all you can unlock your phone just by touching the fingerprint sensor and I'm not sure about your specific back app. But I can say I use adp mobile solutions with my fingerprint to log in.

An actual working fingerprint lock and not just a novelty? How would the Z reliably scan your fingerprint?
Or is there some sort of external scanner peripheral that I'm unaware of?

Yes u are right. i accept. i want the mod just like 3rd party applications. i want it used as system wide.
I am looking to replace CyanogenMod on my N6, but am attached to their System Profiles feature. Specifically the ability to completely skip the lockscreen when attached to WiFi or Bluetooth.
The new LP system security feature adds a lockscreen that I don't want, and cannot bypass even with lockscreen notifications turned off.
I'd be happy with the stock ROM and a tweak to bypass the lockscreen if anyone knows of one.
I've been reading all of the various ROM features, but none have this listed (that I saw. Bit of a needle in a haystack). It may be there, but I missed it, or just not considered important enough to list as a feature.
Thanks.
I just use tasker and secure settings for this. Though I haven't used 5.1 so cannot confirm it works
Thanks. I will take a look. I have a Tasker license, although I haven't used it in ages.

Yes double tap to wake and fingerprint works flawlessly... In fact I find fingerprint detection to be snappier than ever in MiUi

Yep, not that good but then had no problems with cellular calls from either SIM. I could be missing something but then I literally scanned the entire settings but couldn't find a workaround for showing signal status of SIM 2 in status bar.
Plus I did find a menu for choosing what navbar buttons do but no option to toggle navbar lol.
Although I couldn't get Xposed working on this ROM and neither SuperSU. Although the ROM is pre-rooted but procedure for granting root access to an app will at least take you 25 seconds which is such a pain in the **s.
But then I'm going to use it for at least a few days. Never thought MiUi will ever be this stable for our device

The OOS 4.5.0 update completely broke the fingerprint sensor right?
Most of the times, it takes almost three seconds to unlock the phone.

I ask that because I think that's the source of the problem. Every time I set the wallpaper via anything other than the OnePlus launcher, unlocking the phone with the fingerprint gets really slow.
Does the same happen to you? How do you set your wallpaper?

I don't normally use the stock launcher. But I just tried it (set the stock launcher as the default launcher) and set the wallpaper within the stock Gallery app. Fingerprint sensor and unlocking works fine (virtually instantaneous).
If anything, 4.5.0 seems to have made the fingerprint sensor a bit faster and more consistent.

What if you set the wallpaper by holding down on the home screen in the stock launcher and then pressing Wallpapers and choosing a stock one? If I do it this way the unlocking is very fast. But if I set the wallpaper via a custom launcher the unlocking becomes laggy.

The FP sensor works super fast for me on OOS 4.5.0. No issues here.
Try clearing the ART/dalvik cache from TWRP or stock recovery.

Tired it. No help. Still slow AF. When I place my finger on the reader, the phone vibrates, but instead of waking the screen up immediately, it hangs a bit and then wakes the screen. So its vibration > hang > screen on. Instead of vibration > screen on.
I guess I'll just have to clean flash the next update...
Unlike other OEMs out there that use the in-display fingerprint scanner to just unlock the device, OnePlus actually gives you the ability to quickly launch other apps as well. That's just frigging amazing and I absolutely love it. You can check the full tutorial here - https://themrphone.com/article/oneplus-6t-quick-launch-apps-screen-unlock
Kind of a bummer that you still need to wake the display in the first place to actually use the in-display fingerprint scanner, but still, this is good nonetheless.
Nice, thanks for info.
Yes, completely agree that having to wake the display in the first place to actually use the in-display fingerprint scanner is a bit of a step back. Fingers crossed for a Magisk module!
tmobile version doesn't have this yet. just so everyone knows.

I think I'll be using the "touch to wake" option

The screen has to be woken in order to light your finger. UD readers use a camera behind the OLED panel to take a picture of your fingerprint, and the panel is what actually lights your finger for that shot. The only compromise I could see would be something to keep the rest of the screen dim/blank and only activate the fingerprint area, but it'll still require you to wake the screen.

Yeah, aod is probably something that can do the job at the lowest acceptable lighting requirement to read the FP.
My "Settings" app carashes when I try to enter on that menu (quick launch)... What should I do?

When you touch the fingerprint reader area the pixels behind it light up to 100% brightness in order to illuminate your finger.
The "tap to wake" feature already available pretty much solves this "problem". You simply press your finger onto the "off" display in the place where the fingerprint reader is located (easy to do after some practice) and the display turns on, fignerprint scanner illuminates and reads your finger which then unlocks the phone.

I do hope they tweak how bright the screen has to be, but from all I've read, those pixels have to be at full blast to get an accurate read on the fingerprint., so they probably need to at the very least need to regionally brighten that area of the screen fully on the ambient screen. Someone out there more clever than I will surely figure it out in a way that doesn't compromise security. Hoping it's OnePlus, but we've got an incredible community that can take a swing at it too!
Mine do not have any such feature..
Though the feature is cool I am not happy with the experience. It's not smooth, it shows pattern input screen for a while before showing quick launch menu.
Also the home screen/last app screen before the quick launch and the vibrations (too intense) are also bummer
What version of OxygenOS are you on? I'm on 9.0.3 and I don't seem to have the Quick Launch option?!

Hello mate!
I've already solved this by enabling the apps that I disabled before (like Google Pay, Google Music/Video and a few others). Then, once the quick launch worked, I disabled again those apps. :good:

by default, the quick launch is set to open a few google apps preinstalled on the device.
If you disabled/removed some of them, but didn't remove them on the quick launch list before that, then it's going to crash every time you open the quick launch setting.
Enable every default app and try again, if it still doesn't work then factory reset and next time remember to remove all apps in this setting before disabling them.
