I'm new to the op3t, owned and modded every Nexus phone since Galaxy Nexus. When a new firmware/modem releases, in my case OB7, does the ROM I'm running (RR from zenity) have to be updated before I can flash the newer firmware or is it like a Nexus and I can run any modem version on any ROM?

In all the roms I've run on my OP3T I've never updated the modem. I've had Nexus devices as well. You should be good

Hello all,
I'm soon going to get a third M7. The device I'm getting has been updated to latest official version with Sense 6 (Android 4.4.3?), so I guess firmware was also updated.
Since I hate Sense 6 (flame away ) I'd like to ask if it's ok to flash an older rom with Sense 5.5 (Android 4.4.2) without downgrading the firmware?
As far as I can remember I had no issues running a Sense 6 rom with older firmware on my previous device, but what about the other way around?
Thank you in advance!

You should be fine, as long as you're S-OFF.
Might want to doublecheck with some more experienced folks here.
Hi,
I've used my Note 1 for quite a while now and have tested various custom ROMS on it. I now want to take it back to stock ROM and from what I can gather it should be pretty simple to accomplish. However I have a couple of concerns:
There are so many stock ROMS out there... How do I determine which one I should use? Does it matter or will all work?
I read in a comment somewhere that I should not "downgrade" to a ROMS with an earlier Android version. Is this true?
I am currently running Mokee version MK44.4-n7000-141219-RELEASE with Android version 4.4.4
Baseband version N7000XXLT3
Hope you can help!
Thanks!

You can flash whichever 4.1.2 ROM you prefer. Go to samsungupdates.com and flash via PC of mobile Odin. Read up on how to do it properly. Guides already exist.

Hi all,
So I'm using a GT-I9305
Android: 4.3
Baseband: I9305ZHUCNB1
Build: JSS15J.I9305ZHUCNB1
Since it was shipped from Hong Kong it was updated only to 4.3. I wanted to know if I can install an update to 4.4 using Odin, but from a different country, since 4.4 wasn't released to Hong Kong.
If I can, how do I know which one I should use?
Much appreciated.

Yes you can but you could also update to Android 6 using the resurrection remix rom or pan's i9305 CM13 port...
I have been using cm13 as a daily driver for over 6 months... It's now very stable & enjoyable...

Much appreciated,
It's been a few years since I used Odin. Just to make sure, how do I know how to choose the right firmware?
For now, I'll stay away from a custom rom. Maybe after I'll upgrade to 4.4.

You can use any firmware. I would choose one that is close to your region, but I'm not sure if that would give you any advantages. The downside with stock firmware is that you will have a CSC(region sales code) and modem/baseband that has been optimised for that region. This may or may not cause issues such as wakelocks or weak network signal.
If you don't want to try the latest android 6.x custom roms(which are based on AOSP code, I would recommend as an alternative a custom rom based on Touchwiz 4.4 such as Amcha Rom. The main advantages of using a rom like this is that you have the option to choose the CSC from your region and with root access, you can try different modems if you are not happy with the one you have(weak signal etc), as well as the other advantages of root permissions such as removal of bloatware and many other. And being based on touchwiz, you still get the functionality of samsung apps and features. There are also other touchwiz based roms in the i9305 development forum if you want to try different flavours......
Hello,
I bought unlocked galaxy note 4 from best buy. model number is N910T2. this phone came with kitkat 4.4.4, i would like to update it to lollipop.
when i tried to do software update through the phone itself was telling me its up to date. kies3 also didn't give any updates.
does any one know how get this phone updated?
Thank you,
Damn shun
I believe that's a rent a center phone that was never updated and is stuck on 4.4.4. For those with the 910t, we can flash that from 6.0.1 and it works just fine but t3 units can't. I don't know about going to up'er firmwares but you could try Odin and flash 5.1.1 DOK for the tmobile 910t, let me know how that goes. If that doesn't work flash twrp recovery on 4.4.4 build from here
http://twrp.me/
Then go here and flash this rom and be good to go.

Good luck.

Cuz I have flashed 910t2 firmware on my 910t so I'm sure the reverse applies so do it in odin!
yeah i own a 910t2 from rent a center you can flash all the same firmware i have odin flashed every firmware since kit kat and tons of custom stuff just treat it as a normal tmo note 4. the only one thats different is the t3
Treat this phone as if it were an N910T. I bought it a few weeks ago from Best Buy, and so far I have successfully flashed DOK2 and EPE3 firmware (modems/bootloaders, as well as full firmware) with no issues using Odin 3.11.1. EPG2 flash failed the only time I tried it (not sure if incompatible or just a one-off).
ROMs I've ran so far are: FireKat (Nadia kernel required), CMRemix, Beanstalk, TEKXodus HYBRID N4 URv7.4R2, N5 Express 3.4D, and Maximum OvrDriVE 6.0.1 MM V3.2.
Kernels I've ran are: Nadia Nightly r7 [OG1], BeastMode 1.9.2 Rage [DOK2], BeastMode r56.8 Rage [PE3], Emotion nightly r23 RC1 [DOK2], Emotion Stable r26 RC1 [PE3], and BeastMode Stock SimplyRoot [DOK2]. All kernels I've tried have worked just fine except for the Emotion kernels - my phone would not deep sleep with either one, and I tried the 5.1.1 kernel on multiple ROMs with same result (which made me sad because I really want the DT2W feature..).
Currently on the TEKXodus ROM with the BeastMode Stock SimplyRoot kernel and it's running like a champ.
I need some pointers about upgrading memopad 7 ME173X (4.2.4.04152_20140714) core version 3.4.5 from 4.2.2 to 5.0 .. now, as I understand there is no official lollipop rom for this model, and then how to get/install WW lollipop release from [me176c/x] [K013] Collection of ROMs and Updates post? .. since I dont have even .182 version .. should I follow instruction and flash one rom at the time or skip to the WW lollipop release?
thanks for any assistance!

Im sorry, but your confused quite a lot, just because the models of all the asus memo pad tablets are toguether, it doesnt mean that the roms work on any of these tablets, the roms made for ME176CX are strictly made for this model and for the ME176C model, models such as me173x are older, with different hardware, making it incompatible, i used to have the me173x but changed it to the me176cx due to no updates (support doesnt exist anymore), and theres no actual custom roms for it either, if you wish to update your android version, you need to get a new tablet, i recommend looking at the development of each tablet so that you know you will get custom rom support later on..
