I am facing an issue with GPS always on. Tried several times like FreedomOS CE, RomAur, but the problem is there for all roms. Attached the screenshot. Any idea?
I tried clean flash but did not help.
Some app must be using it in the background, check what apps have to granted permission to use gps. Also make sure wifi scanning is off. and if you're using open beta 7 try switching off the automatic night mode. there is a bug that keeps the gps switched on if automatic night mode is on.
Thanks! Turning off the automatic night mode did the trick!

Auto Rotate Stopped Working
Me too, my auto rotate has stopped working as of this morning.
I havn't installed anything for a few days, and it was working fine yesterday.
I havn't dropped it either.
Running Stock Optus Rom with Voodoo Lag Fix Beta 4.
Any one got any ideas, I am going to try a hard reset, followed by warranty.
Have you tried to turn it off then turn it on?
Maby a restart between it.

Hard Reset did the trick
Tried turning it on and off and re-starting between but nothing seemed to fix it.
Also un-installed any widgets that controlled it.
I ended up hard reseting, that fixed it. In the process of re-installing everything again.
Hopefully not going to experience this again. Thanks for your input DamianGto
I had that problem too, well wasn't really a problem once I got to know my JPK rom.
Scroll down the notification tab and turn on auto rotation. Dunno if 2.1 has AR in notification tab tho, maybe its just a 2.2 thing.

So you only had this feature disabled. The problem is that sometimes auto rotate feature stops working and all you can do is to do a factory reset.
before you do the factory reset you should really try the On/Off switch widgets
here is a good set of On/Off switches

Do you really think I reseted the phone without checking whether auto rotate is on or off?
I tried settings/sound & display/Orientation, I tried the auto rotate widgets, and I uninstalled the widgets. None of this helped, which is why I had to hard reset.
I use the auto rotate widgets every night, I turn auto rotate off while I am in bed so I can still see the screen in a portrait fashion. I actually use locale to turn on and off certain settings like screen brightness, sound volumes and auto rotate based on conditions like - between 10pm & 6am, on any day of the week, when the charger is plugged in activate night profile.
I have reinstalled most of the apps I was using previously, and the auto rotate is still functioning correctly.
It seems that the function stops working for no good reason; and what's worse, the problem is not reproducible i.e. exactly the same configuration works after resetting the phone.
Auto Rotation not working/solved
I've currently updated my galaxy s to xxjpy ,darkys rom 2.2.1 (Highly reccomended) , I had exactly the same issue with the rotation not working and put it down to the custom Rom , after a few days of trying to sort it out i finally gave up and did a hard reset using sgs tools, now sorted , i can only assume it was something i downloaded from the market that caused this , only downside is everything is deleted from the phone so MAKE A BACKUP, hope this helps
Hey,
I'm turning off the wifi when I'm in place without wifi to save battery and sometimes when I'm turning it back on it won't turn on even through the settings, and in the settings it says "Error". Sometimes it turns on after some tries, and sometimes the only way is to reboot the phone!
I'm using Srenedipity 6.2 and I used Serendipity 5.12 before so I don't know if it's problem in the rom or in the phone itself because I've never used the stock rom so I posted it here.
Thanks in advance, Elad.
There is another topic on this from today or yesterday. It is a known issue that I am pretty sure is caused across all roms.if you go under settings -> wifi you should vs able to turn it off and on there

Hey guys...I got a problem with my mobile internet on my inc s...when I check the button for mobile internet...it dims and keeps saying: "Connecting..." but it never connects.
Note that it was working fine until yesterday...and the problem isn't from consumption.
I also tried flashing radios and even ROMs but didn't work...any ideas?
I've had that problem before when using the selection from the drop down menu it says connected but than the settings menu says its connecting and never does. It has to do with the way the drop down menu interacts with your settings. Try de selecting mobile under settings than kill the sense (rosie) process from app management under all apps, not the running processes. Reboot your phone and do that again and try to recconect.
Oh your the low signal guy... that might not work. Did you flash the radio? And are you fully wiping when flashing new roms?
Well yeah im pretty sure about wiping and very carefull in flashing..the roms are so smooth and everything is fine except this..i need expert solution...this is a serious problem :s
I had that problem too...
What I did was turn on the Airplane mode, turn into sleep mode for a minute, turn the airplane mode off. Then try turn on the mobile data.
This does not ALWAYS work but its worth a try
Yea.. having the same problem too... sometime require to restart the phone
I did so much things. The problem occurs when I flash sense 3.5 roms like affinity and rcmix3d...but i love those roms..how can i benefit from them

Hello,
yesterday i have flashed my friends Samsung galaxy i9001 with an Android 4.0.4 Rom.
I have tested it of functionality and found out that the device wouldnt go into deepsleep.
BBS shows me two fulltime wakelocks:
msm_serial_hs_dma
bluesleep
which refere both to bluetooth. But playing around with bluetooth on/off etc. did not help.
After searching the web for a solution i found this about someones HTC wildfire:
I’ve had the problem that the device didn’t want to switch into deep sleep mode if radio was on. What is deep sleep? To make it simple we break it down. Your device has 3 modes. The fisrst is “Screen On and Awake”, “Awake” and “Deep Sleep”. If you use your device it you’re in the first mode and you need a obviously a lot of battery. The second “Awake” means it is doing some background work. Checking for calls, checking Emails, syncing contacts. The last one means it goes for some time into a mode were it uses almost no battery, and this is Deep Sleep. If you don’t do anything and your phone is in your pocket you want that it is in the Deep Sleep mode most of the time.
My HTC Wildfire S didn’t want to go into the “Deep Sleep” mode at all if radio was turned on. It worked with Airplane mode. I thought this has something todo with RIL but I was wrong. Actually it was a bluetooth wakelock. The wakelock “msm_serial_hs_dma” was held all the time. The problem is that the msm7227 platform doesn’t supports quick switch-on/off of the bluetooth module and you need to deactivate it with an overlay else ICS always tries to trigger it.
So adding
<bool name="config_bluetooth_adapter_quick_switch">false</bool>
to overlay/frameworks/base/core/res/res/values/config.xml fixed the problem and the wakelock was gone.

So i would like to add the mentioned line to the config.xml file but i do not know where to find this file.
Could someone lead me to the path?
Regards
Hi there,
I freshly registered because I have the same problem, I9001 with remICS rom 1.3a.
Edit: Updated to Version 1.3.1 of the ROM followed the instructions but problem is the same.
If I go in flight mode the mobile can enter Deep Sleep without problem. As soon as I turn off the flight mode it stops going in this mode.
I tried to put the rom again with all the wipes and cleans and stuff, I took out the battery a few times, I tried to boot with flight mode switched on already but nothing helped.
I also searched this config.xml file but there is nothing like it on the phone.
Any help? Any app which manualy switches off and on the bluetooth will help?
Thanks
I'm having the same issue with CM10 for the Evo3d.
When bluetooth is enabled, those components wake lock the phone.
yes please how i can fix it ?? i am not dev...
Follow this thread to decompile: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1752201
Find config.xml in overlay/frameworks/base/core/res/res/values and change or add in
Code:
<boolname="config_bluetooth_adapter_quick_switch "> false</bool>
Someone please help where is config.xml??
this issue kills my battery after update to kk. on jb idle consumption was 5x lower than on kk. the reason was bluetooth always on and this bug which prevent system to switch to deep sleep. @username1234321 you can more likely find it in /system/framework/framework-res.apk . you need to extract it from your current rom, decompile using apktool, modify, recompile, prepare update package zip and then install it using cwm recovery install option.
I've been using Bixby routines since I got my s10e and been loving it. However, I've been running into a problem for a while (a problem which I did not have when I started using the routines).
I've got a routine setup that switches off bluetooth, NFC, Wifi, mobile data and auto sync during the night at a set time. This allows people to still reach me in an emergency, but my battery isnt unnecesarily drained during the night with internet and notifications. However, when the set time occurs, everything switches off like it supposed to exept wifi. I have to turn Bixby routines off and on again for the full routine to work.
I've tried deleting the routine and even splitting the routine up (i.e. just wifi switch off at a set time), but nothing seems to work.
Anbody have the same problem or know of any solution?

I'm using the "save battery at night" stock routine and it's shutting off all of the radios, including wifi, and they're all back on in the morning. Are you using that one or something different?
No, I use a custom routine, but the stock "save battery at night" has the same problem with me: wifi does not shut off at the set time
they are buggy. I have sort of the same thing (turns off wifi/data and auto-sync and sometimes it fails to disable auto-sync)
Mine haven't been working properly since the May firmware update

I think I figured out my problem: I had two conflicting routines setup (i.e. I had a routine set up that turned off bluetooth when connected to my home wi-fi, which in turn stopped my night routine from turning wifi off).
Hope this helps somebody!

It was driving me crazy...had a routine to turn off wifi when I connected my BT earbuds (to avoid the streaming interruption when leaving the house) that stopped working one day. Thanks to your solution I realized it was a new routine for turning off location when connected to my home wifi that was conflicting with the first routine. So thank you very much! Now I just need to figure out a work around for one or the other...
