Rom for eonon ga2162 ? - Android Auto General

Hey guys I have been searching high and low for about 2 weeks on the forums to see if any roms are working for the eonon ga2162 quad core a7 allwinner r16 6.0.1. If anyone has any info about any for my unit if you could point me to it I would appreciate it. I have searched extensively through the Malaysk rom threads and I have even seen people with my head unit asking if it would work but haven't seen any answers. I am rooted and ready to go.
Thanks

Hello!!
I have been doing alot of searching on rooting these and I haven't really found anything that has worked.
Can you explain how to gain root access on this unit.
Thanks in advance.

Kingoroot works but not until the 2nd time it is executed. There is a post about it somewhere that I can't find right now. When you run it the 2nd time right after the first the head unit goes black for a short time then it is rooted. Get root checker to verify. Also after it is rooted there is a different superuser installed. You can install chainfires SU instead after. It was very hard for me to get chainfires SU binary updated. It took multiple tries. I deleted the other SU several times, downloaded chainfires several times....it finally took though.

Sprint S4 and Towelroot - Discussion

So Towelroot is working on many S4 variants... But ours. Bummer.... So close. I started this thread in hopes that an authority on the subject might chime in on possible reasons as to why. Also Towelroot has gotten quite a bit of attention as a proof of concept for a major security flaw in Android devices. What are your opinions on that?
Its witchcraft! Burn those responsible at the stake!!
Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk
This is bad news. I've been wanting to try towelroot for the past 2 days, asking around if it works on our Sprint S4. Do you think it'll ever work on ours? If it works on Sprint Note 3 there's no reason why it shouldn't.

I can say first hand it is completely safe to attempt to run towelroot... It will not trip Knox or the flash counter, etc, etc... It just does nothing. If you watch a video if towelroot in action you will see text after you “make it ra1n"... But on our devices it just says black below the button then resets the phone.
There is a list of devices that says the sprint s4 works with towel root.
http://www.droidviews.com/root-att-and-verizon-galaxy-s5-without-voiding-knox-warranty/
Noticed that towelroot has been updated to version 2- no more reboot. May give it a try. However, I just read an article about towelroot saying,
"A flaw in the Android operating system may leave many Android phones and tablets vulnerable to attack, including the Samsung Galaxy S5 and Google's own Nexus 5. It's the same flaw that was recently discovered in the Linux kernel, on which Android is based — and a just-released Android "rooting" tool that uses the flaw could make the problem even worse.
Exploiting the flaw on an Android device yields root permissions, or total control of the system. That's not itself malicious, but the exploit could also let attackers remotely download malware, copy the device owner's files and other personal data, disable the device's security apps and create a backdoor for more attacks, according to San Francisco-based security firm Lacoon Mobile Security."
Any thoughts?
A true double edged sword. Kinda scary the Antivirus gave it an OK... Yet android actually warned me. I've read that in Linux systems the bug has been fixed.. However with so many generations and models of phones and tablets it's trickier.
I'd say the best solution would be an apk that can be ran on a rooted device (or with the bug... Not) that fixes or at least blocks it.
That's a negative on version 2... But nothing tripped. Odd thing... It still resets on its own.
noob with sprint sg4

when I say noob I mean noob...I'm new to Android and I have no clue really what I'm doing all I know is that I wanted to be rooted because I used to use iPhone and I'm in jail breaker, which gave me the ability to not be charged out the bottom from Sprint just to tether my unlimited data to my computer. after trying to understand the wholr "rooting" process I gave up ( i suffer with OCD and ADD and that is not a good combination when teaching yourself anything tech...plus if you haven't notice I tend to be long winded and very detailed about very unnecessary information just as this last sentence sorry) Yesterday I came across Towelroot was very skeptical but continued reading as much as I could find and decided after reading "it won harm your device to try" I did..... and it works!!! first try unbelievable... now I just got to try to teach myself what to do now... there is a lot of information in computer language that the typical ex jail breaker doesn't understand....it's going to be a long road ahead of me but from what I've read so far it's going to be great. Thanks!
btw....I read this thread and wanted to reply to let people with the sprint sg4...that it's possible but I wasn't registered .... I guess things happen for a reason! if anyone has some helpful information that they can give me as to bypass the frightening journey me and my OCD andADD have in trying to work through the mass amounts of information in this strange language I sure would love ya for it! lol but what doesn't kill me will only make me smarter. love the site guys!

Yes that's exactly what I wanted to know. This would explain why some sites are reporting it as working on our model
Works fine on NAE. Download latest towelroot (v3), click the title 3 times, enter "1337 0 1 7380 4 0". Click "Make it rain".
Enjoy root. No KNOX tripped.

What is the reason for entering "1337 0 1 7380 4 0" before making it rain?
Because it doesn't work otherwise. It's a modstring to modify the exploit parameters for our specific device.

AT&T T807A 5.0.2 lollipop Root Confirmed

You are correct. It has been posted multiple times in multiple threads. But not a single on of them confirms this Tab S model and software version. So as I have spent the past two weeks searching aimlessly through threads, creating one which is specific for this model for the FIRST time seemed a little more sensible and helpful. And given that the search tool doesn't find any positive confirmation on a working root for that model, it makes this thread that much more sensible

I can confirm as well. I personally had to use the desktop app but I've gone through several reboots, removed Kingroot with JRummy's ROM Toolbox and have had no problems (other than not being able to find a stock ROM for the t807a).
Not for 707A
It is falsely posted elsewhere that this works on 707A. I tried it this morning and can say it does not. It quits at about 20%. Kingroot downloaed from the link quits at 20% on AT&T 707A.

It's not false, for some it works, for some it doesn't. Did you let it continue after reboot?
No. It does not reboot it just quits at about 25% with Root Failed .... submit ...
Perhaps it works for you but I do not intend to help others possibly brick their units with experiments.
Unless a tool is consistently rooting safely I suggest we stay away.
It does not work on my AT&T Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 LTE with Lollipop. Tried again after your post to see about re-boot. No re-boot. Kingroot just quits.

You're being a little dramatic, no one has bricked their device whether successful or not. Neither Samsung or any other manufacturer.
Some people have made many many attempts before success. Also new versions are being released all the time with previous unsuccessful devices gaining root.

Marshmallow (6.0) Root Walkthrough?

I'm not sure where the appropriate place for this would be, and I apologize in advance if this isn't it, but I need some assistance.
For starters, I'm an absolute n00b when it comes to anything root and I don't understand the language and procedures to it, only how to do it by following instructions. Hence why I'm currently on a 4.4 untethered root.
I'm due for an upgrade this month and am torn between getting a later device with Lollipop or a newer device with Marshmallow. The deciding point is if there's any kind of walkthrough on rooting Marshmallow, preferably a dumbed-down version for nondevs like myself.
I know there's currently an experimental one provided by Chainfire, and I skimmed through it but couldn't really understand it.
So any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
@Chainfire If you could weigh in, that would be very helpful.
What are you on about untethered root this isn't IOS. Also it's just two simple steps:
Get a recovery for your device (TWRP preferably)
Use either the stable zip from this forum or beta zip thosent matter and transfer it to your device.
Flash it in the recovery done you're rooted
@Xmaster24 I appreciate the response. I was losing hope on getting an answer as I had already gone with the newer device for my upgrade.
In jcase's pie thread for the 2013 Motorola line, that's what the 4.4 root was referred to as. Wasn't confusing Android with iOS.
And I apologize for being so n00bish, but how would I go about getting TWRP recovery? I do know how to flash the zip from there as I used Safestrap on my current device (but I already needed root access for it to work).

Would getting TWRP or some other kind of recovery still be possible at the very least?

Root Acer Iconia One 8 B1-850?

I too just purchased a B1-850 tablet, but I've figured out how to root it. Really quite simple. Just use Kingroot:
1.) Navigate to https://kingroot.net/ from your tablet
2.) Download the APK for android
3.) Install said APK (this requires you to have allowed installation from unkown sources in the "Security" panel of the settings menu)
4.) Load up the app and follow its instructions
5.) Reboot and try it out
For good measure, I would also unlock the "Developer Options" panel and allow USB debugging (adb access) and such; I did this before proceeding. You'll have to search for instructions on that yourself, its well documented.
This all worked for me this morning! Really looking forward to unlocking the potential of this cheapy tablet.
Kingroot worked first try, just swap their super user program with supersu. I am having trouble installing the xposed framework though if anyone has any tips.
I was able to root, now I need to install a custom recovery. CWM says this model is not in the supported list. Has anyone been able to install a recovery? I need NANDROID backup functionality.
I made a thread walking you through how to do it on this tablet in the guides area but just use flash fire for recovery and xposed install
Did the B1-850 hardware updated in anyway? I was able to root it in June 2016, but after a screen repair and factory reset and fresh rom from acer, king root and all others can't work. I'm stuck without any root options. Any idea?

There was recently new firmware released for this tablet (08/24/16, Build #: AV0L0.RV09RC04.WW.GEN1), and a handful of updates (08/25/16, 08/26/16) from Acer. I have this same tablet, and I'm unable to root after flashing to the firmware released on the 24th, and latest firmware (Build #: AV0L0.RV0BRC02.WW.GEN1) as well. Hopefully someone can find a fix, as the few different methods I've attempted simply will not work with the latest firmware from Acer.
On KingRoot Please click submit search if enough people do they will find a root until then just hold tight.

I have done this a bunch, sadly still no love. It's annoying me not being able to root a relatively cheaper tablet, as these tend to get rooted first since they get in more people's hands faster. Oh well, just have to have patience.
Thanks, I was having problems, two different rooters failed and I wondered if it was the recent software update! The image version on my B1-850 is the same as you have quoted! Please post if you find a solution, some apps that need deleting are annoying.

hi guys. any idea how to recover b1-850 from bootloop?
I no its a little late but i rooted mine with the kingoroot one click root apk. Ive installed xposed framework and customized like crazy everything from fonts to boot animation. Cant find a custom recovery tho.
I cannot root it with any of the tools I have tried (Kingo ROOT, KingRoot, etc). Anyone know any method that works?
Acer B1-850. Is this device even rootable?
This device has made an idiot of me. If I can be of any assistance finding a root exploit for this device let me know. I will gladly write a detailed procedure of the process. I made the mistake of assuming since it was an entry level, inexpensive device, the path to root would be simple. Three months later none of the common "one-click" programs has found an exploit. I have a copy of stock rom for recovery so testing is not a problem for me. It's a matter of pride at this point. So much so I found one on sale for $60 and bought it just for this purpose. I have followed every link I can find associated with this device to a dead end. Any help will be appreciated.

Same here, still no root for me. Usually these cheapo tablets are not as locked down.
Still waiting!?
I have given up getting assistance from xda on this device. Its as political here as anywhere else. I don't drive a Samsung so nobody wants to help with root. I've heard every excuse from locked bootloader (unlockable in dev options) to what one dev actually told me,"There's little interest in spending energy on an inexpensive device." I understand, but why misrepresent the site by implying all android devices are treated the same? Hell on the Iconia One 8 thread, it says that the B1-850 does not have a MTK SoC, but instead has an Intel Atom chip. Then they send you to another thread where, of course, there is no B1-850 listed! That's because it uses a MTK8163 SoC. In both tablets.

I really appreciate the fast response. They gave good information, but outdated. Everywhere I see says my phones supposed to show a red android icon after I start the root process, and its just stuck on the blue downloading screen. Not only that but all the linked posts are from android 6.0 and lower. I'm on android 7.0 and have no idea how to change that to root my phone or find a root for that version. I followed one of the guides to the letter but it did say for 6.0 idk if that makes a difference or not.
