My iphone never got sluggish like this and i think i didnt reboot it for several months.

have a look and see what app/programs are running in the back ground, with android you can multi task and run several progrms at once, with the iphone you cant only one app at a time.
Some androind apps stay open and use up atlot of memory which could be slowing your phone down,
Download a free app called Auto memory Optimizer and stop all unwanted apps running in the background
Hope this helps
Thanks, but you need root for auto memory optimiser. Is there a way without rooting?

Try memory booster its free an can't see anything about needing root

What apps do you have running? The most likely cause is a badly coded app that is hogging CPU cycles, or memory, or both.
Froyo is pretty good at closing apps when they are not needed. A task killer won't help if the problem app just restarts itself.

I think i have found the problem. Juice defender. I've uninstalled it and the phone fells faster and without the slowdown when i unlock the phone for about 30 sec.
Anyone else have problems with juicedefender?
yep. don't install that. i've been hearing reports that it does slow-down or cause freezes on your phone.
Ok. Generally NO taskkillers or battery savers from now on :-D

you can use watchdog. it monitors apps and can tell you what app are misbehaving. not necessarily a task killer but its definitely a useful app. does not slow down your phone.
Does anyone else's music get laggy and choppy when you listen? Cuz mine does and its annoying as hell. Definetely not something. I was expecting from a super phone. If I reboot then it stops for a while but back at it in no time. I'm on cm7 and use winamp and this also happened on the stock player. I have a minimal amount of apps and plenty of ram free but music still lag arghhh!!! Oh and this mostly happens at times when I either lock or unlock the phone or scroll thru the menu.
Edit: it just stopped randomly out of nowhere but I know it will come back I can just feel it.

Music lagging seems to be a problem in CM7 for some, on some builds. I have it sometimes, but it disappears after a while. CM7 is not stable atm, it'll probably be solved in the future.

Hello,
For the last 6 months or so, I've experienced many lag issues with my device. At the begging, I had a CM11 ROM installed on my phone, so I decided to revert back to the V20B official european firmware because I thought those lags were related to the ROM. But nothing changed, and as of today I still have responsiveness issues.
This lag issue appears from time to time, and makes my device basically unusable. It feels like the whole CPU is hogged by an application, or like I underclocked my device to 53mhz on purpose. During these lags, trying to wake up my device will take up to 5 seconds, and navigating the main screen will be nearly impossible. Also, my phone will get very hot which would imply that my CPU is indeed used by an application. Sometime the issue will disappear by itself after a few minutes, but I usually reboot the device which temporarily fixes the problem.
I have tried to disable LG MLT, and I think it helped but the lag still occasionally occurs.
I don't really use third party applications either.
I think these lags might be related to the Google Chrome browser, but it doesn't make any sense as it is an official app.
Anyway if any of you have an idea on how to fix the issue or how to find the application/service/whatever hogging the CPU I'd be grateful
Thanks !
I did experience such lags in CM11 after a few days of usage. But talking about stock, these freezes sound bit weird. You might want to check your installed apps.Download watchdog lite from play store and let it watch on agressive mode. Also check if your phone is hot when these freezes occur, might be the throttling kicking in.
I also experienced this kind of lags due to bad gapps I had installed back in the day, though stock ROM comes with gapps so it's not that.
Thanks for your reply,
I installed Watch dog lite and I'm now waiting for an alert. I hope it will give me the name of the culprit
If you are rooted which i assume you are. You can try app from playstore called "lagfix" (fstrim)
Sometimes really helps. Sometimes it doesn't
Hello everyone
I am experiencing really weird Android system freezes and crashing and random times. I have tested this with multiple roms (slimlp+franco and chroma+franco). I have undervolted both to -50. It seems to be more common when playing media (IE google music, YouTube).
If you point me to the logs I'll be more than happy to upload them. I would love to find out what is causing it.

first off questions or help go into the q&a/help section, not into general. i asked a mod to move the thread there.
2ndly, bring your voltage back where it should be. if you are undervolting to get more battery life, dont, you are wasting your time. sure, undervolting saves a little battery, but not enough for you to notice in every day use. all you are doing is causing issues for yourself.
I can confirm with what @simms22 is saying. I had the same issue. I stopped uv and I have been fine.

Would you change the thermal throttling? if i raise the voltage the phone can get a little warm and i prefer it to be warmer.
And i apologize for posting this in the wrong section. Thank you for getting it moved.

thermal throttle i ALWAYS disable(or raise the temp much higher if the kernel doesnt allow me to disable it). thats odd, that you prefer your phone warmer though. to me it doesnt matter, if warmer or cooler. i just dont like the performance hit the phone takes when it does hit throttle. the phone has an automatic thermal safety shutdown as well, i let that be my safety. so, if the cpu does reach 100C(212F, the boiling point of water), the phone will either turn off or reboot. but ive never reached it yet on the n6. on the n4 and n5, it reaches it very quick, on the n6, its very hard to reach it.

I meant cooler lol
BTW guys I normal volted my n6 and I still get Android force crashes. Any more ideas?
Since I got the Fire about 1.5 months ago, music apps have never worked flawlessly on this tablet. The system will randomly freeze, music will loop the past half second for about 20 seconds and reboot. It has occurred on stock, CM, and Slim roms so it is not specific to Amazon's terrible FireOS. What I have learned is that the tablet will never crash if the screen is on, only when the screen is off. It seems to happen only after a period of time (variable between 2 minutes to 30 minutes) of the screen being off. It also seems related to battery usage since I also never noticed crashing when the tablet is plugged in. I have been able to increase the time between crashes significantly in the past by installing the music player as a system app so it could also be a problem with cache/permissions. I have tried full wipes so I don't think its an issue with dirty flashing. Anyone else encountering this issue?
Can anyone direct me to a guide on troubleshooting a kernel crash? (Logging it) I assume that's what is going on here. I tried looking for the /proc/last_kmsg but it doesn't exist.
Anyone? Tablet still constantly crashing despite trying various roms after factory reset and full wipe.
I played with the kernel adiutor to prevent low memory killing which fixed the problem, but now the tablet becomes unresponsive with chrome open. Seems like it only has enough memory to run one or two apps at a time (chrome being so intensive). For the cause of the crash, I believe it was related to Spotify being killed by android memory manager and somehow it crashed the kernel when trying to kill Spotify with the screen off.
Same issue here, I messed around with the kernel settings trying to find a solution. I believe the issue is caused by the hotplug governor turning off CPU cores while the screen is off with the music app, somehow this is causing the CPU to lock up. In Kernel Adiutor, go to CPU > CPU Governor Tunables and change 'is_cpu_hotplug_disable' from 0 to 1 and set it to apply on boot. So far this has worked for me.
My G5S Plus really lags a lot lately, no matter what task I am trying to do. Whether I'm swiping screens, trying to view a photo, opening calendar items, etc. It's very annoying.
I am running Android 8.1, and the security patch from Feb. 1, 2019.
Same too, It happened some time while using many app or it getting warm. my solve is close all app or reboot device. but it still happen when used long time.
I am also facing this problem. I think Moto installed some backdoor patch to slow the phone down. Or they put a timer inside that after 2 years the phone will slow down so people are forced to upgrade. Idk if replacing the battery and doing a clean install will solve the problem or not.
boot into safe mode and see if it still lags. If not it's probably an app pegging the processor. See how much free ram is available. I big memory leak would cause this. If battery is ok, changing it won't help.
